Great film! Just watched it and loved every minute. I am not a political junky but this was a "must-see" in my book. This is definitely a situation where reality is far more entertaining than fiction. If you like documentaries, get this film.

Swift and Fun.......2004-02-03

Hate to argue for quantity over quality, but boy... $22 plus for a documentary that's barely over 50 minutes.... Extras - some outtakes and quick interview segments -- add maybe 40 more minutes. Still, glad it's available. The race is unique, interesting, and entertaining. The players, carrying new and old personal grudges, are eccentrics who seem open and honest in front of the camera. It's hard to think of two more engaging characters in politics than Tom Ammiano and Willie Brown. They respectively allow a fun look at grassroots activity and coalition building -- politics makes strange bedfellows. And San Francisco is its own world: liberal values and idealism mix with (increasing) wealth and Starbucks-ization. Locals' desire for independence and autonomy mix with want of more state and federal funding. So players, agendas, and coalitions seem in unique and almost unprecedented flux. It's a cliche, but this dvd is truly entertaining and educational. If you're one of the rich in the increasingly stratified Bay Area (or anywhere else) buy this expensive disc:-)!
