For some fans of MTV's groundbreaking docudrama series, the highlights of the show are when the ordinary twentysomethings in the cast, as the introduction says, stop being polite--and start being real. Real nasty, that is. This is the tape for the Real World watchers who cheered when Pedro and Puck mixed it up in San Francisco, or looked on in shock as Stephen slapped Irene in Seattle. Nathan of the Seattle cast and Kaneelah from Boston eagerly host these classic fights, as well as a hysterical shouting match between Melissa and Dan in Miami Beach and the historic blanket-pulling incident that got David ejected from the Los Angeles show. Unedited, uncensored fight footage is intercut with new interviews and a running commentary by cast members involved in each conflict. This, along with the split-screen presentation whenever the action heats up, gives each of the tussles a definite sporting air. Unsurprisingly, some fighters (like Dan, interviewed poolside with Flora) seem embarrassed by their past disagreements, some (like Seattle's Stephen) seem more eager just to "set the record straight," and some (like L.A.'s David and Beth) prove more than willing to open old wounds and carry the fight on into the present day. But among the childish displays of bile, outrage, and creative cussing (no bleep-outs here, folks) there are a few surprisingly uplifting moments--particularly when San Francisco's Judd Winick tours his old house and shares memories of his roommate and friend (and impulsive Puck's great nemesis), the late AIDS activist Pedro Zamora. --Grant Balfour

5 out of 5 stars GREATEST FIGHTS.......2005-07-19

I love this DVD. I watch it almost daily (am I obsessed?). Well, we've seen most of these fights, two of these fighs numerous times on VH1 and other All Access shows. But this DVD gives you the full scenes, uncut and unedited. Kinda gives you a better understanding of what happened, with shots from to different cameras at times. I really liked the Melissa vs. Dan fight and the Tami & Beth vs. David fight. If you're a fan of The Real World, buy this!

5 out of 5 stars Hysterical!.......2001-07-03

Watching the Real World fights is just pure comedy and great entertainment! It's a mix of an average Jerry Springer Show and the Real World clashed together! What's not to love?

1 out of 5 stars not impressed..........2001-01-30

I consider myself a pretty big fan of the Real World, but I wasn't impressed with this video. I thought that it would have a variety of clips from the different seasons and feature a variety of cast members. Instead the producers decided to go really indepth into four particular fights. The most entertaining fight featured on the video was Dan and Melissa's Real World Miami fight because when they had Dan watch the video with Nathan and Flora he made comments like "Oh - look at me. I was such a drama queen." But the other "fights" like Irene and Stephen's battle in Seattle and Tami and David's LA blanket incident had already been re-hashed so many times on the show that I just didn't care about hearing them talk about it AGAIN.

My recommendation - save your money and just watch re-runs of the show on MTV instead.

5 out of 5 stars RINGSIDE SEAT.......2000-12-08

HERE IT IS RW FANS. THE TAPE YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR. THIS 70 MINUTE TAPE, HOSTED BY KAMEELAH AND NATHAN, CONTAINS THE BIG 4 SHOWDOWNS : IRENE VS. STEPHEN, PUCK VS. PEDRO, MELISSA VS. DAN, AND DAVID VS. TAMI & BETH. IT'S ALL HERE - COMPLETE, UNEDITED, AND UNCENSORED. EACH SEGMENT INCLUDES INTERVIEWS WITH SOMEONE FROM THAT CAST. WATCH AS EACH SCENE UNFOLDS FROM ALL THE DIFFERENT CAMERA ANGLES. IT WAS FUN TO WATCH THIS, EVEN FOR THE SEASONS I DIDN'T CATCH. IT'S A SHAME TO SEE THAT JUDD STILL DOESN'T HAVE A LIFE OF HIS OWN. R.I.P. PEDRO.

The real world fights dvd wasn't much to impress me, there is 4 or 5 fights in it; and it didnt really hold my attention. It's kinda like those movies that are drawn out and you just get bored of them.
