Good, but Not Great!.......2006-07-17
First of all, I am a big fan of Lamborghini since the days of the Countach, so while the earlier cars are interesting, I do not need them included to be happy. Second, I will agree with other reviewers who say that this DVD does not have "Professional Quality" stamped all over it, but the fact that they were there to witness for us, over 100 Lamborghini's of all ages as they performed for the camera. Yes, this DVD includes footage of the Murcielago and the Gallardo, but if you enjoy Lamborghini's, then check out the DVD just for the VALENTINO BALBONI interview. This man has given his life for the company and gets emotional when asked about it. Next time, I would prefer more "performance" footage of these cars, or even interior shots, but please lose the "Angels" and the photo shoots. Third, when you go on another trip for Lamborghini, take additional cameras with you, so that you are not filming it from one spot. Finally, get this DVD to witness Lamborghini's History and the Balboni interview, but you could do without the rest.
NOT Enough.......2006-02-26
As a Owner and selective collector of Lamborghini and Ferrari, I only demand the BEST. This DVD was like a toy for kid who does not have any understanding of value and passin for these "art piece". I would expect MATERIAL to meet the ART on the same level. My humble Constructional criticism. I would like to look in ITALY for something more REAL and VALUABLE to attach to my art collection to be able to pass them down for generations to come.
It's okay, but not great.......2005-12-19
Nice interviews and some nice cars but that's about it. The commentator is just short of horrible and the overall production quality is second rate. The only real value is the interview with Balboni.
No real information about Miura, Jalpa, Espada, etc. Instead of naming this "40 years of Lamborghini history", they should have called it "the years when the Countach and Diablo were made". Even then, this dvd just touches the surface on these two models. And the "lambo angels"- what a joke! Third-rate strippers the authors of the dvd must have picked up at the Clairmont Lounge while they were in Atlanta.
The DVD I've been waiting for!.......2004-12-15
As a Lamborghini owner and enthusiast, I have bought almost every publication and video made about Lamborghinis. I bought this expecting it to be like all of the others and just hoped that it would have some new material I hadn't seen before. I even waited a few weeks after receiving it before I watched it. When I finally watched it, I was completely overwhelmed. The footage was absolutely beautiful. The history presented, especially the interview with Valentino Balboni, was extremely thorough, and included many facts and clarifications of legends that I didn't even know, and this information is straight from the people who made Lamborghini.
What I liked: The factory and 40th Anniversary Event coverage was better than anything Lamborghini has ever offered. The ride along with Valentino as thrilling and his interview was amazing. I've never heard such an emotional story as that of Valentino and his life with Lamborghini.
What I didn't like: Not much! I would have preferred to have the entire interview of Valentino in the main feature. This would have made the main feature really long, which is presumably why the full interview is offered in the Bonus materials instead.
Overall, I would give this DVD a 98/100, which greatly surpasses anything else I've seen. There is just so much in this DVD that it's hard to remember it all for a review.
The bottom line is that this is the best DVD out there and it is sure to please any Lamborghini fan.
