As stated before, the dvds open with several minutes of commercials. My experience was that we could fast forward through some of them, except on the Thomas dvd, which forces you to watch them all. There are also several logos that you are forced to watch.

Let me tell you something - when your two-year-old son has just had surgery and has to stay at home to recover, and wants to see Thomas, the last thing he wants is a bunch of logos, fbi warnings, and commercials.

The narrators are inconsistent. I prefer the british narrators, especially Ringo, but this set is a real mess, mixing the actors and wandering in and out of sequence.

There also seems to be an emphasis on big messy accidents in this set, which gets a bit scary for the little ones.

This is an exellent DVD set.Don't listen to what the others say,they say its bad,and I don't care for the 5 minutes of commercials,they are actully intresting.They also have a cool way of doing the song inbetween episodes,which is showing thier moments.This is really good,but I actully brought a set at Best Buy which includes the Best Of Gordon aswell.The DVDs show old episdoes re-narrarated by George Carlin.In conclusion,you might as well get this DVD set.

If you already have other newer DVDs, don't buy this set. There are alot of overlapping episodes (well, hence, "the best of..."). The quality is very very bad, they should put in a little effort to remaster everything. Also, the episodes are out of chronological order. Neither of the 3 DVDs hold my son's interest for too long, and he is a MAJOR Thomas fan.

Poor set.......2006-04-11

I'm not steeped in Thomas the Tank Engine lore; my son showed some interest in the program and it looked like a pretty good series, so we decided to get him this DVD set. However, as much as I appreciate the fine model train artistry (it is awesome!) and George Carlin's narration, I just can't get into this series.

First and foremost, I think it is AWFUL that you have to watch 5 minutes of commercials before you can watch any of the Thomas DVD. The DVD prohibits skipping the loud, tedious commercials. Because of this, this DVD never gets watched (1 of 3). If you don't mind having to watch 5 minutes of commercials (or start the DVD and come back 5 minutes later to watch it), this won't bother you as much as it does us.

Also, as has been mentioned, the stories are in a completely jumbled order, so its difficult to piece together a linear narrative of how the characters develop. If you don't know much about Thomas and his friends (like me) I would not recommend this series. On its face, the series looks very appealing, but in the end, simple goofs in putting together the DVD make it aggravating to watch and difficult to fully appreciate.

James Is My Favorite Character!.......2004-10-10

This video has the best James stories on it. Yep, all of your favorite James stories are on here like No Jokes For James, James Goes Buzz Buzz, James In A Mess, and Old Iron. The only James stories that I liked that isn't on here was James & the Trouble with trees(that is my favorite James stories, even one of my favorite stories). It's to bad the music video "James the Really Splended Engine" wasn't made sooner because that would have been a the icing on the cake to this already great video, but "Don't Judge A Book Be It's Cover" is a great music video.
Anyway, I'd recommend this video if you want to see James at his best=^_^=

James Is The Man!!!.......2004-08-08

James is my son's favorite engine. Most likely becasue they are both stubborn and bull-headed! Anyway, I strongly recommend this dvd to anyone who loves the Thomas series. As a parent who often watches the shows with my children, the James stories are really some of the most enjoyable. As I stated previously, James hates to follow directions and this usually gets him in trouble; however, James always suffers the consequences of his actions. There's some pretty good lessons taught in these stories for kids of all ages (even me!). The dvd versions are great. No more rewinding VHS tapes over and over! The Thomas Series dvds are one of the best babysitters any parent could ask for. Add to cart now.

James is one of our favorite characters.......2004-02-22

Thomas has been with my family for almost a decade. We have every oringinal tape and most of the mixes. What I like about the Best of's is that you can watch a whole tape of episodes just about your favorie character. James is one of the most popular engines and it's no suprise this one was released. He has more videos named after him than any other engine besides Thomas. James is often naughty or rude and the other engines and Sir Topham Hat shpw him what it means to be a useful engine. He's often the most boastful engine and sometimes I prefer episodes without him. I think these are great episodes for James fans and you should definetly buy this one.

Not our favorite Thomas video.......2003-08-07

We have several Thomas videos and this is not our favorite -- James is just too ill-tempered and cranky to make this enjoyable. In nearly every story he's criticizing or making fun of other engines. He usually gets his comeuppance in the end, but overall it's just not a positive experience. There are plenty of other good Thomas videos to buy besides this one.

The BEST of James!!.......2003-07-21

Of all the videos in my Thomas collection, I have to say this is my most favorite. The stories on this video are: A Proud Day for James, James in a Mess, Old Iron, No Joke for James, James Learns a Lesson, Percy, James, and the Fruitful Day, James Goes Buzz Buzz, Time for Trouble, and the music video Don't Judge a Book by It's Cover. Once again it sports George Carlin's superb narrations. I thought they should have put in the music video James the Really Splendind Engine instead of Don't Judge a Book by It's Cover until I realized this video was planned in 2001 and James the Really Splendind Engine wasn't seen until 2002. My favorite story is A Proud Day for James and No Joke for James is very funny. I don't have a least favorite.

IN A NUTSHELL:

In this 'Collector's Edition DVD' there is alot to see and hear.

First off, there are 9 stories rather the usual 6, and from a host of narrators including; Ringo Starr, Michael Angelis, George Carlin, Alec Baldwin, Michael Brandon. For sentimental reasons I always enjoy any story that Ringo narrates, but on this DVD they are all quite well done.

Secondly, there are many nice bonus features which in total equal 1 hour's worth and a neat talking menu to introduce the DVD. Inside the DVD case you will find an neat booklet which shows Gordon the tank engine and illustrates how he functions. You'll also find some promo info about the 'Day Out With Thomas' program and directions for how to use the DVD menu and a description of what each bonus feature offers plus a list of the stories.

Okay Gordon isn't one of the main characters so there weren't very much stories to put on this tape, I mean some of them aren't even about Gordon they just have Gordon in them. But then again, this tape did bring back some of my favorite stories like Gordon and the Famous Visitor and Gordon Takes a Dip therefore, I gave this one 4 stars.

They should've waited longer to release this one.......2004-02-14

The point with my title is that some of these episodes don't excalty have Gordon as the main character. I thought Gordon and the Gremlin stunk and they should've held off on this one until more Gordon episodes were released. Some of these episodes were good but I really didn't think the episodes were that good. I wish they'd make a best of Toby or a best of Henry but I guess i'd probably be saying the same thing. Gordon's a good character but nowaday's he says i'm a big blue engine who knows everything. These new tapes should be more like the old ones when the engines weren't so self conceited. I should've given this one 3 stars but I like Gordon a lot to do that.

The Best of Friends, Vol. 3:
"The One with the Blackout": During a blackout in New York City, Chandler is locked in an ATM with beautiful supermodel Jill Goodacre. Meanwhile, the gang converges on Monica's apartment to tell scary stories and talk about sex.
"The One with the Candy Hearts": Joey and Chandler go on a double date, but to Chandler's horror, his date is his ex-girlfriend Janice. Meanwhile, Monica, Rachel and Phoebe have a "bad boyfriend cleansing ritual" which gets out of hand.
"The One Where Ross and Rachel... You Know": Ross and Rachel have their first date, but a case of the giggles keeps them from consummating it. Rachel plans an intimate dinner, but Ross gets called to the museum and has to work late.
"The One with the Football": The gang decides to play a friendly game of football, which devolves into a series of personal competitions: Monica and Ross over the coveted "Geller Cup," Chandler and Joey over a beautiful woman.

A must have for any Friends fan, such as myself. This set has some absolute classics on it!!!! For starters...the thanksgiving episode with Chandler in the box!!! And what about Phoebe's Fonzi-crazy obstetrician in the one where she has the triplets? And lets not forget my ABSOLUTE favorite Friends episode off all time.....the one where Ross's parents find out he got high in college and Rachel makes Thanksgiving dessert (Ross: "It tastes like feet"..Joey, "I like it") If you are a Friends fanatic, and you dont own this already, do it now!!! I can't wait for Volumes 5 and 6!!!!

Volumes 3 & 4 of the "Best of 'Friends'" provides a chronological progression through these "fan favorites" (Volumes 1 & 2 are devoted to the "Top 10 Episodes"). On Volume 3 we find:

(1) "The One with Chandler in a Box" (November 20, 1997), finds Chandler, who hates Thanksgiving to begin with, banished to a packing box after stealing Joey's girlfriend, Kathy. Picked as #4 on TV Guide's list of 50 Best "Friends" moments, which seems to be way too high, especially since it is my least favorite episode on this particular disc.

(2) "The One Hundredth" (October 8, 1998), has surrogate mom Phoebe delivering her brother Frank's triplets. Certainly one of the most creative ways of dealing with the pregnancy of an actress in television history, although Phoebe's Fonzie-obsessed obstetrician is a clunker. #31 on TV Guide's list.

(3) "The One with All the Resolutions" (January 7, 1999), but the only ones that matter are Chandler's New Year's vow not to make fun of his pals and the tight leather pants Ross is wearing as part of his attempt to try something new every day. The all time funniest scene of a guy with his pants down around his legs, this is #14 on TV Guide's list. This episode also sets up the grand fun of "The One Where Everybody Finds Out," which caps off Volume 2.

(4) "The One With Ross Got High" (November 25th, 1999) is yet another fun Thanksgiving Day with the sextet. The good news is that Rachel is trying to make desert and has combined recipes for English trifle and shepherd's pie. The bad news is that Mother and Father Geller cannot stand Chandler because Ross told them it was Chandler's marijuana they were smelling in his room way back when. It is time for Ross to come clean, but not before he and Monica engage in a classic bout of sibling one-up-manship as they rat each other out. #49 on the TV Guide list (way too low).

(5) "The One with the Proposal - Parts 1 and 2" (May 18, 2000), finds Chandler being too smart for his own good in his attempt to surprise Monica with his proposal. Tom Selleck returns as Richard, just to make things interesting. #10 on the TV Guide list, which also seems low for one of the most truly romantic proposals in television history (the only one I have seen that was better is when Donny proposed to Daphne; ANYONE would have said yes to that surprisingly powerful proposal from that unexpected source).

Take out Volume 3 and insert Volume 4 and you will find that only one of the episodes on this DVD were listed on TV Guide's "The 50 Best 'Friends' Moments":

(1) "The One with the Blackout" (November 3, 1994), New York City is blacked out (due to a mishap on Mad About You), and Chandler is trapped in an ATM vestibule with Jill Goodacre. The rest of the gang hangs out at Monica and Rachel's apartment watching Ugly Naked Guy light a bunch of candles. This episode also has the first appearance of Mr. Heckles.

(2) "The One with the Candy Hearts" (February 9, 1995) finds the gang suffering through Valentine's Day, where Ross is on a date and runs into Carol and Susan, while Chandler breaks up with Janice (again), and the girls decide a cleansing ritual is in order to improve their love lives.

(3) "The One Where Ross and Rachel...You Know" (February 8, 1996) might be focus be focused on the main event, the proverbial consummation devoutly to be wished, but this follow-up episode to "The One with the Prom Video" also has Joey and Chandler getting their La-Z-Boys. #40 on the TV Guide list.

(4) "The One with the Football" (November 21, 1996) is not another horrible Thanksgiving, it just seems that way. A game of touch football threatens the end of the world as we know it as Ross and Monica compete for the "Geller Cup," Chandler and Joey hit on the same Dutch girl, and Phoebe and Rachel explore notions of good sportsmanship.

(5) "The One That Could Have Been - Parts 1 & 2" (February 17, 2000) takes us into an alternative Friends universe. You see, when the gang learns Barry and Mindy are getting divorced they wonder what would have happened if (a) Rachel had gone through with her marriage to Barry, (b) Ross's wife Carol never realized she was a lesbian, (c) Joey was still on "Days of Our Lives," (d) Phoebe was a stockbroker, (e) Chandler quit his job to be a writer, and (f) Monica was still a tad overweight. As with most of these "It's a Wonderful Life" episodes, the lesson is that some things are just meant to be.

This one also includes "The One That Goes Behind the Scenes," which is a very interesting look at the first episode from the fall of 1999 (picking up on the Green-Geller surprise nuptials in Las Vegas in "The One in Vegas, Part II"). However, I have to admit that I do not know these episodes intimately enough to always recognize the ADDED FOOTAGE that is included. Having these DVDs is nice because you do not have to keep paying attention to the repeats in syndication to see your favorite scenes again.

I bought this for my girlfriend. She is a major Friends fanatic. She loves every episode on here. If you're such a major friends fan that the idea of buying episodes of it seems like a good idea, then this (and the previous volume) is for you, and you will love it. I've just always wondered how Ross could hook up with Rachel and I can't. My nose is far smaller than his. But my gut is bigger, which probably explains it all...

I love Friends. They are so funny and always make me laugh. But I really want the complete sets. So you aren't jumping around so much and I know people would pay for the complete seasons. Recommended until complete sets come out.

Great DVD.......2005-09-27

This is a great DVD for anyone who doesn't want to own the complete season. So far I believe only the first 4 seasons are out and I do hope that they release the other 6 in this format. Featuring the top 5 episodes from season 2, this DVD will delight all fans of the TV show Friends.

Once again the six episodes collected on "The Best of Friends Season 2" are what was selected after the choices episodes were already selected for the "The Best of Friends: Top 10 Episodes" ("The One Where Ross Finds Out," "The One with the Prom Video") and "The Best of Friends: 10 Fan Favorites" ("The One Where Ross and Rachel...You Know"). Fortunately, that is only three episodes out of the mix, so there are better pickings for this collection than we found on the same DVD for Season 1. The problem is there are really only two solid episodes here:

"The One With Ross's New Girlfriend" is the season premier for Season 2, which picks up at the airport where Rachel discovers her big plan to reveal her love for Ross will be rather difficult now that he is back in town arm-in-arm with paleontologist Julie. However the fun part is when Phoebe confuses Dudley Moore with Demi Moore while working on Monica's hair. This is where a strong start becomes a "Friends" tradition.

"The One Where Heckles Dies" has mean old Mr. Heckles downstairs dropping dead and getting back on Monica and Rachel beyond the grave by willing them his entire apartment of junk. Meanwhile, Ross is losing it because Phoebe refuses to believe in evolution. This is the second of the two really solid episodes here.

"The One With Phoebe's Husband" revels that Phoebe has been married to Duncan, her gay Canadian friend, so that he can get a green card. But that is not the only secret that is revealed as we learn who has more than two nipples and who has only been with one woman in his life. I always had a bit of a problem with this episode because Rachel goes way too far in trying to break up Ross and Julie.

"The One With The List" is another episode with a problematic contrivance. Ross has to choose between Rachel and Julie, so of course he makes a list and checks it twice. Actually, he checks it once; Rachel checks it the second time. I know the Ross-Rachel bit has a great payoff with the end of "The One with the Prom Video," but they are really stringing us along here.

"The One After The Superbowl (Parts 1 & 2)" should have been called night of the Hollywood stars since we have Chandler meeting up with the girl he teased in the fourth grade, who grew up to be Julia Roberts, Joey being stalked by Brooke Shields, Phoebe falling for Chris Isaak, and Rachel and Monica fighting over Jean-Claude Van Damme on the set of "Outbreak 2," which leaves Ross to hook up with Marcel, the new movie star. Talk about overkill, this is a case where more is less. Roberts and Matthew Perry are far and away the best of these bits, which just makes the rest of them look like the people on the losing side of the biggest football game of the year. Who was it that year? I know this is a memorable episode, but it is not a great one by any means.

Actually a good representation of the best of Season 3.......2005-11-10

The choices for all of the "Best of 'Friends'" DVDs have to be taken with a grain of salt because a lot of the best episodes already made their way into the four volumes of the original "Best of Friends" set. However, only a pair of episodes, "The One Where No One's Ready" and "The One with the Football," were pulled from the show's third season. That was the year when the show's producers decided that Ross and Rachel apart was funnier than Ross and Rachel together, which gets us to their infamous "break." The problem with the third season was that the Ross and Rachel relationship was dominating things to the point that everybody else was shoved into the background (e.g., "The One Without the Ski Trip"). Nobody else has a decent story arc in Season 3, which is amply illustrated by the whole bit between Monica and Pete the millionaire, but there are a few moments worth savoring:

"The One with Frank, Jr." is worth it just for the "freebie list," where you come up with the five stars you are allowed to sleep with and not jeopardize your relationship. If you have not yet made your own list seeing this again should remind you to do it before it is too late, and if you think that is an idle threat then all I have to say to you is "Isabella Rossellini." Yes, Pheobe reunited with her brother, but that relationship does not get seriously crazy until Season Four.

"The One with the Flashback" is a slightly better episode where Janice ask if the gang had ever almost hooked up with each other. The fun hear is to see what the Friends were like right before the series began, without going all the way back to their high school days (where Joey and Phoebe are never involved). You know this one works when you cannot predict who ends up kissing who on top of the pool table.

"The One With Monica & Richard Are Just Friends" is not really talking about being just friends, but rather just friends "with benefits." This is the least deserving choice of the five and the sub-plot has to do with Phoebe's new boyfriend, Robert, who is the only one who does not know he is an exhibitionist. However, the sub-sub plot, where Joey agrees to read "Little Women" and Rachel tackles "The Shining" has one of my favorite epilogues of all-time.

"The One Where Ross & Rachel Take a Break" is the pivotal third season episode. Rachel tells Ross they need to "take a break," so he sleeps with Chloe from the copy store. If you have not yet been convinced that Ross is under a curse, then this should be the episode that finally convinces you. But the key thing is that even when Rachel announces the "break," the relationship has enough resonance that you know that this is one that will never be over until one of these two is dead and in their grave (or in an urn on the other one's mantle).

"The One With the Morning After" is the next episode. After the "break" comes the breakup. Ross is desperately trying to keep Rachel from finding out that he spent the night with Chloe and it is just a question of how long he will be able to keep the truth from her before the world comes crashing down on his head. Funny and yet heartbreaking, since we want these two to be happy (and because Ross becomes unbearable when he is not with her). Of course, all the other four can do is try to listen through the wall to the big fight.

Of course, part of the fun with watching these DVDs is to complain about what episodes should have been included. You have to have the last two and you cannot get rid of an episode with Isabella Rossalini in it. The flashback episode is pretty good, and that means the only one I would jettison is "The One With Monica & Richard Are Just Friends," as long as I can keep the final scene ("Joey...do you want to put the book in the freezer?"). As far as replacing it, I would probably pick "The One at the Beach" over "The One with the Hypnosis Tape" and Ben Stiller's episode "The One with the Screamer." Overall, they did a good job of selecting the best episodes from Season 3, I just think of Season 3 as being one of the weaker seasons, even though the two episodes they originally pulled for the original "Best of 'Friends'" DVDs were not the season's two best.

The producers of "Friends" do a lot better for this "The Best of Friends: Season 4" collection of episodes from the year that Phoebe got pregnant and Ross proposed to Emily:

"The One With the Jellyfish" is certainly the most educational episode of "Friends" ever, because if Joey knows what to do when somebody is stung by a jellyfish, then that pretty much means the entire nation now knows. However, even that exciting event becomes secondary in this episode since Ross fell asleep reading Rachel's 18-page letter and find that replying affirmatively to her question, "Does it"? was not something with which he can live. One of the better of the many non-ending endings for the Ross & Rachel traveling circus. Does anyone in this country dare take a break on their relationships?

"The One Where Chandler Crosses The Line" has Chandler riddled with guilt and the apartment littered with new furnishings, after Chandler makes out with Kathy. Once again Chandler learns that there is no success he can have with the opposite sex that will not come back to plauge him two fold.

"The One With The Free Porn" has Joey and Chandler keeping their television on so that they do not lose the unscrambled adult cabel channel that pops up. Meanwhile Ross tells Emily he loves her, but that is nothing compared to two guys in lazy boys watching free porn.

"The One With All The Wedding Dresses" has Rachel, Monica, and Phoebe all getting caught up in wedding fantasies. Rachel might be the one proposing, but it is Monica who foreshadows the future with her obsessiveness about the perfect wedding (see Season 6).

"The One With The Worst Best Man Ever" is the one less than stellar episode that almost costs this collection a star. Joey throws a bachelor party for Ross while Phoebe's mood swings have Monica and Rachel wondering if there is anything they can say or do that will keep the expectant mother from ripping their heads off. I guess the show wanted to get this nonsense out of the way before the season finale in London.

Buy The Complete Season DVDs Instead!.......2005-10-08

Friends is a great sitcom but these Best Of Friends DVDs are just a selection of episodes I think it's kind of goofy to buy a DVD that only has a handful of best of episodes instead of buying the complete seasons on DVD where you get every single episode and the complete season DVD sets are nicely priced too. Not too expensive!

Good Episodes, but already available.......2003-01-07

This set of Friends, has some of the best episodes like "The one with two parts," but the only problem, Is your going to pay [$$$] for six episodes that are aready available in the Season 1 and 2 boxs sets. If you only want a few episodes this is the way to go, but your better off buying the full seasons.

This set of Volumes 1 and 2 of the Best of Friends is absolutely worth watching!! The DVD features the following episodes:

VOLUME ONE

1. Pilot (9/22/94): This is the best first episode of America's favourite comedy, showing how Rachel came to live with Monica. This ep sets the mood for the rest of the series.

2. The One With Two Parts (3/2/95). Two-part episode where Monica and Rachel date two doctors, both guest stars from the hit series ER (George Clooney and Noah Wyle).

3. The One With All the Poker (2/23/95). The girls challenge the guys to a game of poker only to lose all of their money more than once... Rachel starts applying for jobs

4. The One Where Ross Finds Out (11/9/95). Ross and Julie decide to buy a cat but a drunken Rachel leaves a phone message for Ross confessing her feelings about him, hence Ross finally finds out how Rachel feels.

5. The One With The Prom Video (2/1/96). One of the fun flashback episodes to when the guys are in high school, getting ready for the prom. Hilarious shots of Rachel, Monica and Ross when they were teenagers!

VOLUME TWO

1. The One Where No One's Ready (9/26/96): Ross stresses out as no one is ready for his museum benefit. Monica finds a message from Richard and can't decide if it's old or new - so she leaves him a msg on his answering machine with disastrous results.

2. The One With The Embryos (1/15/98): Phoebe agrees to carry her brother's baby while the rest of the gang argue about which duo knows the other one better - Chandler and Joey or Monica and Rachel. They settle it with an hilarious game hosted by Ross!

3. The One With Ross's Wedding (5/7/98): Another two-parter where the gang head over to London for Ross' wedding with Emily. The start of Chandler and Monica's relationship, as well as the demise of Ross and Emily's.

4. The One With All the Thanksgivings (11/19/98): Another hilarious flashback episode where the gang relive past Thanksgivings with some of the gang discovering ghosts of the past...

5. The One Where Everybody Finds Out (2/11/99): A personal favourite, when Phoebe finds out about Chandler and Monica and decides to "mess with them". Ross applies for Ugly Naked Guy's apartment.

Apart from the obvious benefit of NO COMMERCIALS - YES!!, the extra features on this DVD are fantastic! It includes a music video of the Friends theme by the Rembrandts featuring the main cast from the tv show, a behind the scenes look at filming in London, commentary from the production team and cast bios.

Volumes 1 and 2 really do have the funniest, most entertaining episodes of Friends and I would recommend it to both fans of the show and those people who are not yet convinced - if these DVDs don't convince them, nothing will!

The Best of Friends is absolutely wonderful. I absolutely love the show, and this collection has put ten of the funniest episodes available for purchase. I have had the set since it first came out and I'm still not tired of it yet. Friends is probably the funniest show on television, and its still going strong. If you like Friends, I recommend this collection for you, it highlights the classic moments, such as Ross getting Rachel's message, Rachel seeing the Prom video, all the Thanksgivings, and others such as that.

I love The Show Friends and these are definatly some of their best episodes ever! This DVD set includes 10 episodes and many special features. They Include:

1. Pilot: Rachel leaves her fiancee at the alter and comes to see her old high-school friend Monica; Ross moves into an apartment in Monica's building to be closer to Joey and Chandler.

2. The One With Two Parts- Parts 1 & 2: Joey and Chandler meet Ursula, Pheobe's sister, at a resteraunt where she is a waitress; Rachel falls off the roof taking down the Christmas lights and ends with a date up with a hansome doctor (funny twist there); Ross takes Marcell to the E.R. after swollowing a Scrabble Letter. (No wonder it needs two parts!)

3. The One With All The Poker: The girls want to get in on the guys poker game; Rachel wants a job and Ross wants Rachel.

4. The One Where Ross Finds Out: Rachel leaves a drunken messages on Ross' answering machine saying that she is "over him" while she is on a date with another man.

5. The One With The Prom Video: Monica's mother gives her a box of stuff from when Monica was in high-school; Rachel finds out what Ross would go through to get her a date for the prom.

2nd Volume

6. The One Where No One's Ready: Now, Ross and Rachel are dating; Ross is trying to get everyone organized to go to his speech at the museum; Chandler and Joey Fight over a chair, Monica has a phone problem; Rachel can't decided what to wear.

Buy the full season already!!.......2003-09-15

These episodes are great but if you're really a "Friends" fan, you'll be better off with any of the Seasons 1-4 that are already out on both VHS and DVD (Season Five soon to come out!!)

These "Best of.." series isn't bad at all but wouldn't you rather see it all??

Okay, to my review:
Everything from the writers, the characters and the amazing chemistry they all share is perfect and wonderful. I consider myself the biggest friends fan ever and I own all of the friends DVDs including Vol. 3 which I love the most(TOW ross and rachel...you know). Whenever u're sad and you watch it, you just get that feeling of happiness and it's like you know them.
They are totally 6 normal attractive people living in New York City that everybody can relate to. It's not all happy happy life; they go through break-ups, hardships and even losing jobs and I love the fact that they have that kind of relationship that no matter what you're going through, there's always somebody to hug or a shoulder to lean on.
They are definitely the type of friends that everybody wishes they had and I just love all of them forever!(even though Rachel can be a ... at times, but hey we all have our faults)
It is and will always be the best show in the world to me and I am so proud of all of them:-)

Hmmm, 5 Fan Favorites but only one Top 50 Friends Moment?.......2002-06-23

Volume 3 of the "Best of 'Friends'" begins again the chronological progression through these "fan favorites" that concludes in Volume 4 (Volumes 1 & 2 are devoted to the "Top 10 Episodes"). Interesting enough, only ONE of the episodes on this DVD were listed on TV Guide's "The 50 Best 'Friends' Moments":

(3) "The One Where Ross and Rachel...You Know" (February 8, 1996) might be focus be focused on the main event, the proverbial consumation devoutely to be wished, but this follow-up episode to "The One with the Prom Video" also has Joey and Chanlder getting their La-Z-Boys. #40 on the TV Guide list.

You know, I really think we are being set up here. If you compare what is availble on the four DVDs that are out with the TV Guide list, the glaring omission (beyond anything from the 2001-2002 season) would be the Rachel & Ross marriage and the Ross & Emily marriage and the all the permutations in between. Volume 3 is definitely the weakest of the four DVDs to date and you should have no problem naming 6 episodes you would rather see than any of these.

Still Doesn't Beat Vol. 1, but Is Still Awesome!.......2002-06-11

This is the third dvd with the Best Of . . . title for the amazing Friends t.v. show. Watch me as I do my Chandler Happy Dance, feel dumb, and review the following five episodes!

(1) The One with the Blackout - NYC experiences a complete blackout while the gang is at Monica's. Only Chandler is stuck in an ATM with a model. Oh, the dorkiness that is Chandler in this episode. It's great!

(2) The One with the Candy Hearts - This is the return of Janice! I love her. She's absolutely hilarious and annoying as always. Joey sets Chandler up on a blind date who turns out to be Janice. And guess who ends up in bed with who on Valentine's Day?! Also, Ross and Carole have a long talk after having been left by their dates at a restaurant.

(3) The One Where Ross and Rachel . . . You Know - This is the first official Ross and Rachel dating episode! Of course it doesn't go smoothly (Rachel can't stop laughing when Ross touches her), but in the end, all is well. Also, Tom Selleck beings his guest starring as Monica's love interest.

(4) The One with the Football - One of the many famous Thanksgiving episodes! Here, Ross and Monica plan a football game to get the infamous Gellar Cup. This one's great with the friends against each other. Extreme competition! And I must mention that Jennifer Aniston is too cute in this one.

(5) The One that Could Have Been - This episode is absolutely great! The gang sits around at Central Perk, wondering what would have happened if . . . Monica was still fat? Rachel would have married? Ross was still with Carole? Chandler would have a different job? Phoebe had become a stockbrocker? and if Joey would have become a true actor? This episode truly deserves the Best Of . . . treatment the most. It's a great episode with outstanding performances from each actor. Especially Courtney Cox. She has true comedic style.

In addition the uncut episodes, there's a documentary on making the set of a Friends episode. It's a little outdated, but it was still an interesting watch. Also, the usual Cast and Crew bios are there. Awesome Best Of . . . , but still doesn't beat Volume 1.
