Three genetically enhanced lab animals break out and travel the world with a "Hunter" on their trail in this clever musical cartoon. Edward, the bold monkey with a temper, lays the plans. Trevor--a timid, bespectacled parrot--translates human language (both written and spoken) and does some talk-show-worthy impressions. And the female member of the team, lightning-fast cheetah Sasha, does most of the rescuing. The three travel by plane, boat, hot air balloon, and paw or wing to the East Indies, Siberia, China, and India in search of the utopian "Himalaya Uwasa." After running into parrot-eating natives, Rastafarian cats, and rapping baboons, they finally encounter Hunter in an unexpected resolution. Sid Caesar, Carl Reiner, Willem Dafoe, and Chaka Khan lend their voices to cameo characters. This refreshing 70-minute story will entertain and intrigue older children without the violence or coarse language so often found in programs aimed at their age group.
