In Kingsley's Meadow, animals and kids alike simply can't get enough of the title character's inspirational stories. In "Hang in There," Kingsley relates the biblical stories of Ruth and Elisha to his animal and human friends with some help from several child actors. In the story of Ruth, kids learn to value goodness as they follow Ruth's friendship with Naomi. Even Kingsley's selfish friend Aaron begins to realize the benefits of sharing after listening to the story of Ruth. The story of Elisha teaches kids the value of perseverance, showing how Elisha's steadfast commitment to Elijah led to his eventual elevation to leader of the prophets. Kingsley's delivery of each story is animated and enthusiastic, his puppet friends like Munk and Aaron are adorable, and the child actors do a perfectly adequate job of miming the stories Kingsley relates. Sprinkled throughout the 30-minute video are lots of upbeat songs that capture kids' attention and underscore the messages behind the stories. And there are even two bonus Bible songs at the end of the tape. These inspirational stories are entertaining and very accessible to children ages 2 through 10. --Tami Horiuchi
