....please Disney, get rid of fast-play! It is soooo stupid. It always says, "This Disney DVD is enhanced with Disney Fast-play. The movie and a selection of bounes will bagin automaticly. To bypass fast-play, press the main menu button at any time! fast-pl;ay will begin in a moment.." I always go to the main menu.
-1 for fast-play

I have always been a Disney fan and I absolutly loved this collection. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I thought that there could have been a few more episodes on the disc.
the donald.......2007-01-12
was very nice but unsure of why it skips now
could be from scratches we made or some other reason
Small set for small price and enjoyable........2005-07-04
I have a two year old girl and this dvd is just long enough for her to stay interested, but not too long to bore her. Being 8 cartoons - it's not the biggest set out there, and I'll probably buy the big set as soon as I finish this comment, but It's good for a little one if you're not wanting to spend $30 on a big set. Now that I know there's a bigger set out there, and I'm a Duck fan, I'll get it. This is a good dvd to put on before dinner to keep her occupied - and, by the time dinner's ready, she's settled down and ready to eat.
Good for the price.......2005-01-20
It's too bad it didn't come out for the holidays because it would have made a great grab-bag gift. For $10, you only get 8 cartoons, but for someone like myself who is a Donald Duck fan, it's nice to watch this whenever I need a good laugh. Today's cartoons are much too violent. It's nice to see something clean.

We LOVE Little Bill.......2006-08-09
My kiddos (2 and 4) LOVE Little Bill, Blue's Clues and Dora. It's great to get them all on one DVD. Particularly, Little Bill. They are crazy about Little Bill and relate well to his "problems" and the solutions he finds. I also find that there is never anything objectionable in Little Bill or Blues Clues episodes(unlike, say, Dora sometimes).
It is a shame that this gentle, parent-friendly, tv show is off the air and also not available on DVD. We love Little Bill in this house and we've bought all the sampler DVDs just to get him!
Well, Some Favorites, Yes..........2006-01-30
This is the second Nick Jr. Favorites release, featuring according to the cover, "six super adventures"
The stuff on here is mostly good. Lazytown features "Sleepless in LazyTown," a great story in which Robbie Rotten tries to deprive Sportacus of sleep. A fun, high-energy show that really accomplishes its goal.
Blue's Clues has "Pajama Party" in which a special pajama party is held at the Blue's Clue's house. A classic Steve episode.
Little Bill, a show don't get to watch nearly as often as I'd like has "Little Bill's Great Space Adventure." Little Bill is tired of always being told he's too small, so he makes up a story in which his being small saves the day. Featuring the cute little green alien Max and Little Bill's hero Captain Brainstorm.
The Backyardigans episode is "The Quest for the Flying Rock." Uniqua, Tasha, Pablo and Tyrone all compete to reach a mystical flying rock. Great music and songs and concept as well.
The other two shows on here are Dora the Explorer ("Super Map") and Max and Ruby ("Ruby's Lemonade Stand / Ruby's Rummage Sale / Ruby's Magic Act.") I don't really think much of either show, but I know they're kinda popular, particularly Dora.
There are no special features on this DVD, unfortunately. However, everything is close-captioned and the sound and picture quality are great.

THIS IS NOT VOLUME 2!.......2007-01-07
This is not part of the What's New Scooby Doo Volume set. It shows Volume 2 on the picture and clearly shows that 4 episodes are on the DVD ... but it is actually only 2 episodes from that volume ... NOT the full volume as pictured. I ordered it and got the wrong one .. sent it back and they sent me the same thing a second time. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Amazon ... but I was really frustrated that I couldn't actually get a PERSON to understand my problem. I just kept getting these emails back from someone who obviously didn't read my email or understand what was going on ... maybe it was automated .. who knows! I finally just gave up and found it at Walgreen's for $5.99. Bottom line ... don't order this if you want Volume 2!

Good children's viewing.......2005-10-13
I just played this DVD for my 3 1/2 year old, and she liked everything but the Wishbone show. It looked boring to me, and I didn't think she'd get into it, and sure enough she asked, "Mommy, what's this show doing on here?" I ended up fast forwarding it. It was an odd choice for this collection, seemed for a slightly older audience. Yet I can't imagine any kid old enough for Wishbone to want to sit through Barney. All the other shows would appeal to the youngens.
Oh, boy, I was laughing when reading the other review here! I can understand about the whole Barney thing that he/she was telling about, as I agree (though kids love it, and it's a nice slow pace for them), and I really laughed at the Kipper discription. We are huge Kipper fans here, and I didn't even notice how off that part with the dogs on the swing was; it went right over my head just as with my daughter! I wonder if the makers of these shows put these things in on purpose for an inside joke. Well, I still love Kipper-- it has to be the cutest kids' show out there, and we own them all.
I am happy with this purchase, to have some kids' favorites all right there, even though I'll have to fast forward Wishbone.
A boost of self-esteem........2005-09-02
I'll get right to the point and save you parents some time- if you have a kid under the age of 4, or one who is easily amused by anything (up to, and including Gary Busey's dental x-rays), then they'll like this. The Favorites here are a mis of new and old programs that should appeal to them. And don't you give me any of that, "TV IS NOT A BABY SITTER OMH UR L4ME" stuff. Tons of generations were pratically raised on tv, and they're ok. Apparently, letting your kid watch one show about two dogs exploring their sexuality isn't as important as learning how to tell purple apart for indigo in order to qualify for pre-school. Though I am a bit concerned about the quality of kids' shows these days. I remember half of what's on here from when I was growing up, and the other half is from 1996 and up. These shows, while good for kids, really can't comapre to other classics like Sesame Street and even The Puzzle Place. But again, you're not worried about the quality of the shows, as these are for your kids.
The shows starts out with the Rubbadubbers, a show about bath time toys that run around and go nuts whenever their owner isn't around. This time, the gang uses the power of their imaginations to pretend they're on a train, and train robbers take it over. But there's an important lesson to be learned here, and it's about not getting everything your way. The main character for this episode can be seen on the box (and is the reason I got this. I mean, lookit that thing) flailing its arms like a decapitated panda. But it's supposed to be a frog or a sea monkey or something, and he basically plays every part in the train game- conductor, horn puller, etc. The other toys show him that it's not as much fun doing everything by yourself. This show has a cool look to it- being mostly claymation and some puppets/toys, but the characters are too weird for my tastes. Especially that sea monkey thing. Bob the Builder is another new one. Bob and the gang have to put a fence back up while also saving two birds that get stuck in a fireplace...after they fall in it on purpose. Somehow, the birds never find it in them to try flying out of there. But Bob and the gang get stuck while going to rescue them, as there's part of the fence in the middle of the road. What gets me is that Bob's buddies include a bulldozer and a crane, yet they don't know what to do here. If your kid has common sense, they'll see this, wonder why you're such a bad parent, and hit "skip" on the remote. And then there's Barney. Oh how there's Barney. This show was horrible when I was in first grade back in 1991, and it remains horrible to this day. In fact, I'll skil over this one for the next part, and move on to the final shows. Angelina Ballerina is almost a good show. It's about a mouse who, as the name suggests, is a ballerina. A new kid moves in the neighborhood, and is suspected of stealing all the blackberries by the other kids, and gets teased for looking different. The message here is blatant. I liked this one the most as far as the new shows go. The animation was good, voices fit the characters, and it didn't quickly solve the problem- Angelina got along with the new girl, and tried new things. Very cool. I'd let my kids watch this. Kipper on the other hand, is a whole other story. In this episode, which is the first I've seen, he and a friend start a mini-circus after finding a swing in the woods. They ride it together, though it's built for one, and tumble around with eachother while laughing constantly and catching eachother. All laughing I suffered from Barney was halted once this show started. I was horrified to see two dogs swinging together while screaming "HARDER!". Yeah, I'm a pervert, but it's better I point this out over some super stuck up/religious parent who would turn off the tv at this point and talk to their child about lifestyle choices. Wishbone is a great show that I even watched in my pre-teen years in 1995. Wishbone is also not on tv anymore, sadly, so many kids probably don't know who he is. He's a little dog who somehow read tons of classic books, and compares every situation he's in to a book. Here, it's about his owner's son's cafeteria lady getting fired over giving leftover food to the needy thanks to the person in charge while the principal is away saying it's against the rules. This is compared to Robin Hood, and during the book scenes, Wishbone plays Robin. It's cute, though the real-life bits are pretty lame now. Why is the supervisor (maybe vice-principal?) wearing a labcoat? And why is he complaining about a rebellion because of the kids not wanting lunch? This would never happen in real-life. And if it did, we'd probably call them freedom-haters. Finally is Pingu, one of my favorite shows. It's a claymation short about Pingu's birthday. There's not much to it, as there's no real dialogue (just wacky noises that come out of their mouths), but it's all cute. In fact, get your kids a Pingu disc over this right away. Pingu rules, and is appropriate for any kid.
Like I mentioned, Barney is terrible. I've never felt so good about myself watching something. Even The Day After Tomorrow. Barney never made much sense either. Why are kids left unattended at school after hours, and left to run around with an imaginary dinosaur that comes to life out of a stuffed version of itself? Three kids here see a dog on the loose, and find out that it belongs to someone...who's in the same building they were in just minutes ago, when they were the only ones there. They later find a blind woman who shows them what a guide dog is, and one of them asks the stupidest question I've heard since Jessica Simpson's classic chicken/tuna question- "does being blind make it hard to do stuff?". Jesus kid, sit down, don't think so fast- you could hurt yourself. I was hoping for Bill Engvall to pop up in the corner like the Toasty guy in Mortal Kombat II and go, "here's your sign", but it didn't happen. Oh, and the dog's owner takes him to the vet for unknown reasons. And does anyone else find it strange that Barney's costume doesn't have a visible zipper? I'm almost left wondering if they built the suit around someone, or if there's a trap door in the bottom. Then again, that would scar kids for life- seeing some guy crawling into a lifeless Barney backstage. And yes, he still sings that god awful "I love you, you love me" song at the end.
The picture quality on each show varies. Some, like Angelina Ballerina, look great. But others, especially Wishbone, look muddy and are full of grain. It's disappointing, but understandable at the same time. I didn't expect any digital transfers here. The audio's the same. I had to turn up the volume for Kipper and The Rubbadubbers, but Pingu and Bob were just find. Odd.
Surprisingly, there are 4 special features, none of which are good. There's a music video for the Rubbadubbers, but it's just the opening song. We also get a read-along with Barney story. It goes over the alphabet and how each letter stands for an animal. I'm sure you parents already have a book like this, so what's the point? And he lists some pretty out of wack animals, like unicorn whales and x-ray fish. Whatthehell? And of course, he mentions that he loves you at the end. Then there are 2 games, one of which didn't even work for me. It's the Rubbadubbers treasure hunt one. They tell you how to play, but it wouldn't work on my basic dvd player, or my computer. I was left on the menu screen and just gave up. The other is a memory game, but it's not even memory. They show a picture of a character on the left, and there are 9 numbers to pick from. The character on the left has a matching picture under on of those numbers. Keep picking a number until you get the right one. Note- the numbers get mixed after each round, so it's not quite memory. It's just a guessing game. I should mention that Wishbone has a slight special feature- at the end of every episode, he'd show behind the scenes footage for a minute, mostly on the set while filming the book fantasy sequences. It's funny how seriously the extras take their work.
The disc lasts almost an hour and a half, which is enough time to get some work done or relax while the kids are finally sitting down and not driving you up the walls. Though some might ask you what's ok, and what's not ok (depending on your morals. I really couldn't care less about how my kids pick to live their lives as far as dating goes) after seeing Kipper. And again, make sure you watch Pingu along with your kids. Pingu is the god damn man. NOOOOOK NOOK NOOK!
