California diving must have!.......2006-03-09

If you dive the Channel Islands off California, or if you love diving and you are thinking of trying something new, get this DVD! This video goes through many (but not all) of the creatures, fish, critters, and mammals who inhabit the Calif coast and is full of facts along with wonderful photography.

My only criticism is that the naration is a bit dull at points and that there are many common creatures that are barely mentioned or aren't covered at all. California horned shark? Spanish shawl and other nudibranchs? I do love how the video explains how to tell similar creatures apart though.
All in all this is a very well done video. This along with the IMAX video "Into the Deep" are a must for all California
scuba divers!

I LOVED this DVD!.......2005-04-05

I've been diving in California for about 45 years, and thought I knew all about the marine life here. Not so! This is a wonderful DVD chocked full of great photogrophy and lots of interesting information about my underwater friends. And I learned a bunch!

Having seen Barsky's other DVDs and read many of his books, I'm not surprised at all that his latest offering is of the highest quality.
