Unless you grew up watching Boston's Bozo show in the '60s or you'd like to see why this didn't even come close to Chicago's 40-plus-year-old institution and the late, great Bob Bell (Chicago's original Bozo), I can't think of a reason for purchasing this DVD. I, and I doubt I was the only one, was misled by the DVD's packaging as it failed to specify that it was Boston's version. Apparently, unlike Chicago's version, the Boston shows on the DVD were produced by Larry Harmon, who bought the licensing rights from Bozo creator Alan W. Livingston and owner Capitol Records in the late '50s. This is just another kiddie show.
True chidhood memories !!!.......2004-03-26
Though I grew up in Connecticut, and the local Bozo in New York was Bill Britten, this still brings back the fondest memories for me, because all the sydicated shows were all done the same way. Here's three shows from 1966 from the creator of Bozo himself, Larry Harmon. Bonus material includes cartoons and a talk with Harmon on how he began his career. I still remember watching the Bozo show on WPIX every day at noon while munching on a P&B sandwich. As far as a walk down childhood memory lane goes, you won't beat this !
