By watching Exploring Gujarati, your child will: (1) learn to identify and name about 30 common objects - For example ducks, butterfly, milk, bananas etc. (2) learn some basic antonyms - For example open/close, front/back etc. (3) learn to recognize colors - For example red, blue, green, yellow, black and white (4) learn to recognize colors in association with an object - For example yellow bananas, green grapes and white eggs (5) learn to recognize numbers from 1-10 (6) learn to count objects - For example, count six bananas one by one (7) learn to put it all (object, number, color) together to form simple phrases - For example, learn to count six yellow bananas.

Definitely geared towards young children.......2006-12-16

This is very helpful in starting children out early. Engaging enough for them to watch more than once. Wish it were a series for teens and adults! Enjoy!

There are so many of us 1st generation Indians out there who understand and modestly speak our parent's native language, but aren't good enough to pass it on to our children. As a parent of two 2nd generation Gujarati girls, I've been searching for ways to help teach my daughters Gujarati and was thrilled to find Baby Hindustani. It is perfect for introducing some basic vocabulary, numbers and colors, as well as good pronounciation. The producers of this video took the time to make something of quality - it is entertaining, engaging, and the kids featured in the video are adorable. If you have little Gujurati kiddies in your home, "Exploring Gujarati" is a must have. I hope the producers make a sequel for older kids.
