Apparently, what makes Arthur a good sport is his unselfish acceptance of orders to shove off. These three episodes find the titular aardvark shuffling to the sidelines as friends Francine and Muffy jockey for the spotlight and, ultimately, run away with starring roles. In "The Good Sport," Francine's furious when she loses Athlete of the Year--and a chance to meet guest star Michelle Kwan--to a mousey badminton champ. Next, Muffy's mortified when her dad, the new soccer coach, comes off as a drill sergeant in "Muffy's Soccer Shocker." And "Francine Frensky, Olympic Rider" follows Her Feistiness as she saddles up for a show that's stolen by her boy-crazy big sister. In the end, there's no sense keeping score--whichever wisecracking 8-year-old these consistently well-written, witty episodes swirl around, they're all worth celebrating. --Tammy La Gorce

3 out of 5 stars Special Features? Anything?.......2002-06-15

This is "Arthur" and I like each of the episodes, so I'm giving this three stars. But, overall, this DVD offering is lackluster because it's essentially a copy of the video version. There's no special features and despite the fact that it could hold so much more, there's only three episodes. If you'd rather buy video versions, then stick to it because there's nothing extra for you on the DVD.

4 out of 5 stars ArthurThe Good Sport!.......2002-06-14

Even though the shows are great and the quality is excellent.
It was somewhat disappointing not having more features on the DVD. I guess, I was half expecting to have Arthur and Company speaking french or spanish, or have some type of extra feature.
Except for getting a particular show on DVD, without having to Fast Forward or going through the entire program like you would on a tape, there wasn't much difference between DVD's and Tapes.
