Customer Reviews:
Great movie for kids and adults..........2007-06-13
Our 9 yr old son loves classical music and a co-worker told me about this movie. We borrowed it and he and our 4 yr old daughter both LOVED it so much that he saved his money and bought it. Great story and great music.
Beethoven really lives upstairs........2007-06-10
Beautiful music, scenery and good acting from all the people involved in such a charming movie.Children oriented, very inspirational!
Beethoven Lives Upstairs.......2007-01-14
My grand-daughters used to listen to the CD every night and loved it. There was a fire in their house and they lost most of their possessions. Several months later, when their house was rebuilt, and we were getting close to Christmas, one of them e-mailed me to say that she would love it if I could offer them the CD again.
Our grandson, 7 years old, listens to it also. Friends of his mother were very impressed when listening to music, he identified the composer as being Beethoven.
I only heard the highest compliments about this recording.I am sorry I cannot say more because I live far away from the children and have not heard it myself.
Beethoven Lives Upstairs.......2006-01-02
This Emmy-winning film is visually beautiful and moving, and also very accurate historically. Like the boy in the movie, a real-life young boy named Gerhard von Breuning enjoyed a special relationship with the composer while residing nearby. As an adult, von Breuning wrote about his experiences in a book titled after the name of Beethoven's building, Aus dem Schwarzspanierhaus. The talented actor who plays Beethoven (Neil Munro) looks remarkably like pictures of Beethoven from this period in his life. Much of the dialogue is drawn from Beethoven's own letters, conversation books, and other writings, and most of the action really took place. The musical score includes performances of Beethoven's masterpieces by some of the best international performers. This is one of my favorite DVDs, and very popular with friends to whom I have lent it. Highly recommended.
Okay........2005-03-10
This movie was okayish.I would've rated it a four out of five if the same things didn't happen over and over again. Another thing is, those kids were wrong about Beethoven, he was a cool person.
