Long ago Dragons brought peace and wisdom to the world with their Crystals of Power but they mysteriously disappeared and the world plunged into a thousand years of warfare between the stern Norvagen and their archenemies, the Draigar. Two unlikely teenage allies prince Dev of the Norvagen and princess kyra of the Draigar come together in a desperate attempt to end the war. But treachery is at work and it may already be too late. Dragons: Fire and Ice is a visually and dramatically impressive animated adventure inspired by a line of Mega-Bloks toys, the same way that Mega-Bloks' rival Lego's Bionicle products yielded the Bionicle: Mask of Light and Bionicle 2: Legends of Metru Nui features. By comparison, Dragons may be the superior entertainment, perhaps no less cluttered in its mythic storytelling than the Bionicle franchise but framed and paced far more like a handsome, live-action movie. Set in a time of legend, the film concerns a shattered truce between two warring kingdoms, Draigar and Norvagen, whose earlier peace was established through the wisdom of dragons. Each side blames the other for the disappearance of those winged creatures, though that tragedy was brought about by a manipulative ambassador. But it is Draigar's prince and Norvagen's princess, unbeknownst to them, who possess special powers granted by the Dragon King to heal the old rift. Above-average family viewing. --Tom Keogh

Surprisingly Good.......2006-04-19
My little brother was jabbering about this for days when he discovered that Megabloks had made a movie. I was a little skeptical at first. I thought the movie wouldn't be any good or the bad guys might be too scary for him.
Turns out, after looking all over for a movie store that had it for rent, it was a really good movie! Everyone enjoyed it, even me! The story was good, the bad guy(s) were mean and creepy, and the dragons were AWESOME!!! They were my favorite part; aside from Princess Kyra and her cool martial art skills.
I was happy that the main guy in a movie got shown up for once.
Kyra and Dev had a short fighting sequence and Kyra must've knocked the prince down at least three times!
The dragons were very cool! The wing flaps and tail movements were very realistic. The legs were realistic too, but the dragons didn't walk that much.
Anyway, it was a great movie and I'm glad I had the chance to watch it. If you like dragons, creepy wizards, and sword fights, you will love this movie!!!
Now, if only Megabloks could make their building toys as good as their movies.
Great!.......2005-08-22
I'm getting this for my brother's B-Day, (He's a real fan of the movies and sets.) and I must say, it wasn't bad! It's fun....fantasy like, ya know? I think it's pretty cool! :)
An Awesome Movie.......2005-07-02
While Dragons: Fire and Ice did not have the best animation it could have, the excellent storyline more than made up for it. It is rare these days to find an animated movie that has an actual plot to it. Hats off to Dragons! A movie well-worth the time of any dragon lover.
Almost Feature-Film Quality .......2005-01-22
I actually liked this movie a lot. For a direct-to-video release, it was above and beyond par and exceeded all expectations.
1) The story made sense AND was relatively interesting (gasp!--a novel concept in the world of DTV releases!)
2) They actually did a lot of cool stylization; Celtic and Oriental--you can tell they put work into it (WORK!--yet another of the many unheard of concepts when making a DTV movie!)
3) The designs of the characters and even the dragons were pretty cool with only a few minor exceptions (see! MORE work and effort! The surprises go on and on!)
4) The opening backstory wasn't just "blah, blah, blah"; they actually had put some effort into the style and so continued it in the opening--which was actually cool (they didn't even stray into the realm of cliched storybook openings!)
5) An actual PLOT TWIST (oh, it's TOO MUCH!)
Really, the only downside was that the characters didn't move so well and a few minor coreography/fighting details that even most feature films miss. All in all, I applaud the makers--this movie is good in the DTV release view. It could even hold its own among some feature films.
For any child who loves action and fantasy.......2005-01-05
My 10 year old daughter thinks this is brillant. She's a tweener who is phasing out Barbie and Bratz and has fallen in love with this toy concept.Though this animation seems to be c-grade to me I am not it's target.I don't think children care about the quality of animation, direction if the concept moves them ( my daughter cannot stand Finding Nemo). The relationship between the human prince and princess is refreshingly platonic and perfect for this age.I would reconmend this for any fantasy loving child.

Product Description
They appear in ancient myths from around the world. The ultimate figure of power and destruction, dragons surely reside only in fairy tales and the pages of novels like The Hobbit.
But if this is so, how can we explain the sighting of "dragons" by people like the explorer Marco Polo and the ancient Greek historian Herodotus? Take a remarkable journey into the myths and legends of dragons. Ancient art and writings reveal the many sightings and stories that have propelled the legend of these awesome beasts through the ages. Meet scientists who contend that "dragons" were in fact real, now-familiar beasts, and others who suggest a more incredible explanation. Could dragons have actually existed, and could they still remain hidden in some remote corner of the earth?
The latest research, astonishing expert interviews and stunning art from around the world combine in DRAGONS.

dragons international.......2007-06-22
Cultures all over the globe and for centuries have described dragons. This film shows many beautiful paintings and statues from dragons across the globe. They are so widespread, I'm surprised they are not mentioned as Jungian archetypes. Unlike researchers that may treat one civilization as better than another, this work spoke of dragons in Europe, China, and the Americas with equal respect. Still, one interviewee said Occidental and Oriental dragons did not have the same characteristics or reputation. This reminded me of how others have said Wicca and Yoruba religions have nothing in common even though they may seem to.
The work never assumes that dragons did not or do not exist. In the same way that many have hypotheses about Atlantis, this work explores some hypotheses on dragons. Still, I thought it went far from exhausting ideas. On "Sagwa: the Siamese-Chinese Cat," they said dragons were metaphors for rivers; others say they are phallic metaphors.
When Leonard Nimoy narrates, he first asks a question then tries to answer it. I thought this was redundant and just meant to kill time. It certainly dumbs down the program. I appreciated the diverse interviewees seen in the work. One interviewee looked like he was Leonard Nimoy with a long beard.
Should this program win an Oscar for documentary? Of course not! Is it a cute thing to watch when you have some free time? Yes. I think parents whose children love dragons may want to get this or make sure their curious, young ones see it.
