Ganon's Evil Tower: A review by WINSTERMINATOR.......2005-05-25
Back when I was seven years old I would faithfully watch The Super Mario Bros. Super Show every day after school. But the biggest treat was on Friday...not just because it would be the start of my weekend...but because The Legend of Zelda cartoon would air in place of the regular Mario Bros. cartoon. Not only would I play The Legend of Zelda on my old Nintendo, but I was actually watching it! Just recently I bought my four year old son a Nintendo 64 with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time."Link", the game hero, quickly became my son's hero. And then one evening I was shopping on Amazon.com, when I stumbled across Legend of Zelda-Ganon's Evil Tower. I immediatly ordered it. When it arrived I surprised my son and he couldn't believe his eyes. We popped that DVD in and we were glued to the television set.
So for all of you classic gamers out there...this is a must have for you DVD collection. And for all parents who have kids who love video games...trust me, you won't regret buying Legend of Zelda-Ganon's evil tower.
Ohhh, it's SOOO bad..........2005-05-06
This DVD is going to steal my soul right through my eyeballs. I don't know how many times I have watched this stupid thing, but rest assured, that when you watch "Legend of Zelda: Ganon's Evil Tower", you're in for a mesmerizing trip into the depths of BADNESS and hilarity.
The animation is cheesy and poorly executed, the voice acting (aside from Zelda's voice actor) is sub-par, and the plots are water thin. But in some impossible way, it manages to be the greatest thing I have ever seen in my life. Even as a young child who was hopelessly obsessed with Nintendo, I remember not paying any attention to this show...nay, I outright DISLIKED it. Now that I am more or less an adult, I can't get enough of it. Perhaps it takes some maturity to see the series for what it truly is. (Yeah, right)
I'm going to mirror the sentiments of the other reviewers in asking DiC, "where are the rest of the episodes?!" I've been through "The Ringer", "Cold Spells", and "The White Knight" so many times I've almost got them memorized, and I'd love to see the remaining ten episodes, as I can't remember them at all from my childhood. The "Sonic Underground" episodes aren't nearly as fun, because the animation is actually capable, and the plots actually strive for a level of coherence and meaning sorely lacking in the disc's title series. Which brings me to my next point: I didn't buy "Ganon's Evil Tower" to see that. I want B-grade lameness, and I want it now. Give us more "Legend of Zelda" episodes!!
Excuuuuuse me princess!.......2005-02-22
This is the best thing I've ever discovered on amazon! I am a BIG fan of the Legend of Zelda games and I just LOVED the Ocarina of Time. I even have my own ocarina! When I saw this I just HAD to buy it, so I did. I think these are some of the corniest shows I've ever seen! But the corniness makes me laugh and the stories are entertaining. It's cool to see everything we had had to imagine before come to life! Like what their voices sound like, and what Link and Zelda would say to each other and all that stuff. I really like these, though I think they should've put more shows on instead of those Sonic ones. I would love to see all the other episodes! So, if you are a true Zelda fan you will most probably enjoy this. I did!
Excuuuuse me princess!.......2005-02-22
I am a BIG fan of "The Legend of Zelda" video games and when I first saw this I had to buy it! So I did and I enjoyed it muchly. It's weird that they have voices since in the video games they don't, in the games Link doesn't even talk. But they did a pretty good job in that area. The very corny jokes make me laugh because they are so corny and it's so cool seeing it all come to life. These are very entertaining and I really like them! If you are a true Zelda fan you will like this no matter how corny it is at some parts! However they should have and could have had more shows on the DVD instead of those Sonic ones.
ZELDA SHOW.......2005-02-13
This show makes me feel like I am conquering the world. It is a wonderful rendition of what life is really like in the world of hyrule. Right after I finished watching it, (for the 87th time), I couldn't help but hook up my old NES and play the Legend of Zelda. I've beat it, along with all of the other Zelda games, multiple, (and I mean multiple), times.
This DVD would be made more complete if it had commentary by the directors. My friends and I thought it would be funny to add the commentary ourselves so on about our 46th time of watching it, we turned the volume on mute, and had a field day. We were hilarious. I hope this review is helpful. May the force be with you.
Grab some Doritios and watch this DVD. It's beautiful.
