"Piano Logic" is More Confusing than Logical.......2007-03-30

I'm sure many years and a lot of thought went into this product -- but I found it to be highly frustrating and confusing. I don't know what "middle C" is... and yet Ms. Carlson kept refering to it over and over again -- and yet hadn't taken time to SHOW me what it is!?!

Each section drug on for what seemed like hours... adding more to my confusion. Long-winded, confusing generalities about things I knew nothing about... for all I knew, they WEREN'T generalities.

$90 is not a bad price for a special interest video like this. I routinely pay this much and more for DVDs on other topics/hobbies I enjoy. However, I must say this just has NOT been worth it to me.

It's doubly disappointing to me because I was hoping my teenage son could learn from this as well. But there's no possible way he would even sit through the first long, drawn-out chapter -- which is Patty talking about the "history" of her method.

Sheesh... I didn't even care about the history of it... I just want to learn to play the piano!

Do yourself a favor -- unless you ALREADY know a bunch about the piano -- Skip this product. It's not for "piano idiots" like me.

The presentation helps to understand chord structure and hands/fingures movements; and learning to focus on number sequence for practice, instead of chords names, is a real bonus.An excellent DVD from Patty.
