OLD SCHOOL superheroes rock to a NEW SCHOOL beat!.......2007-07-09
Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are just three of the characters that have been around for more than five decades but their popularity has never waned. When The Cartoon Network gave the go-ahead to produce a show based on DC's The Justice League, the Warner Brothers animation team produced a cleverly-written and really exciting series with updated takes on the aforementioned trio, along with The Flash, The Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl.
When the actual third season began, the series revamped itself, not just with the core seven members but expanding the league to include over forty-five other superheroes in the DC Universe. Likewise, there was an increase in the villain quotient, not just dependable bad guys like Lex Luthor, The Joker, or Braniac, but including the likes of Gorilla Groud, Morgan LeFay, and an expanded Legion of Doom.
This compilation has some really standout installments: "For the Man Who Has Everything" takes a peek at an alternative life of Superman; "Kids Stuff" is an award-worthy tale of four Justice Leaguers turned into children; "This Little Piggy" is another lighter tale with a porcine Wonder Woman; and "The Return" is an exciting story with an impressive assault on The League by a super android.
"Wake the Dead" showcases the league's most sympathetic character, Hawkgirl, as she makes a poignant life-and-death decision for a resurrected Soloman Grundy. "Dark Heat" features a seemingly unstoppable alien armada that is defeated by the smallest member of the team. The two-part "The Once and Future Thing" is an imaginative journey through time.
However, the best of the bunch are the final eight installments, prior to "Epilogue," which brings the Cadmus storyline to a head. "Clash" features a slam-bang battle between Captain Marvel and Superman, while "Flashpoint" and "Panic in the Sky" have plot twists that couldn't be anticipated.
The aforementioned "Epilogue," which was scheduled to be the final episode, before the show was picked up for an additional thirteen shows, pays homage to not just this show but to "Batman: The Animated Series" and "Batman: Beyond."
The best thing about the series is its vocal casting. Besides the original cast members (George Newbern, Carl Lumbly, Michael Rosenbaum, Maria Canals, Susan Eisenberg, Phil Lamar, and Kevin Conroy), the show also boast a truly impressive array of guest artists.
The inspired casting of Fred Savage and Jason Hervey, brothers on "The Wonder Years", helps elevate the rather mundane "Hawk and Dove" to somewhat memorable status. The episode also has the distinctive pipes of Michael York as Aries, the god of war.
Recurring characters Dr. Hamilton and Amanda Waller are given wonderful life by guests Robert Foxworth and CCH Pounder, respectively.
And Emmy-winner Ed Asner does double duty by appearing as Hephaestus in "Hawk and Dove" and as the deliciously wicked Granny Goodness in "The Ties That Bind." The latter episode also features the genius casting of Arte Johnson, reprising his German accent from the old "Laugh-In" days in the from of Vermin Vunderbarr.
The show utilizes traditional pen-and-ink animation coupled with impressive computer graphics.
The bonus extras on the disc are also, noteworthy, especially the commentary on both "This Little Piggy" and "The Return."
not bad.......2007-06-09
i was orginally going to write a very negative review. but thats probably unwarranted in hindsight. as the season progresses, it definitely gets better, with some big storylines developing. but be warned: there are some real duds in the season. the introduction of comedy and more dc characters is definitely a negative.
a lot of people seem to think the unlimited seasons are far better than previous seasons. but as in most comic to screen adaptions, i think too many characters and/or villians 'spoils the broth' (spider-man 3 is a perfect example). the comedy doesnt really work either. the previous seasons were great for drama and action. but we are now left with less of that given the show must make way for comedy and lighter episodes. saying that, when the drama/action episodes do come up, they are done with the usual skill and perfection.
on a whole, i wouldnt rate the previous seasons below the unlimited relaunch.
Yeah...It's really that Good!!.......2007-05-25
Yes, our favorite characters finally go "Unlimited." What can I say. Grade A material. Great stories. Great Characters. Great fights. Did I say great stories? Get this. U don't know what you're missing. Spoilers: The cadmus angle was a great addition to this show. From beginning to end the epic stories just keep making you want to see more and more till finally Green Lantern says "Who guards the Guardians? We've got it covered." Fade to black! Then We get a bonus Epilogue with Batman Beyond, where Terry discoveres that Bruce is...well you'll see for yourself. This is what cartoons are meant to be. For all ages. The only think kiddie about this show is the pencil work. Definately get it. Don't wait!!
JLU - Season One: Excellent DC Comics DVD set!.......2007-05-21
This DVD set was purchased to complete my collection of animated series from the DC Comics universe. For anyone interested in collecting the "Justice League" series, please note that the first part of the collection is "Justice League of America" - Seasons 1 and 2. The JLA part of the series is followed by "Justice League Unlimited" - Seasons 1 and 2. In reality, all four 'seasons' comprise a 14-disc, 91 episode set of the Justice League series -- from the original 7-member league featured in the JLA episodes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and the Martian Manhunter) to the much larger, much broader collection of superheroes (including Supergirl, Vixen, Black Canary, Green Arrow, the Question ("Q"), the Huntress, and scores of others) who are featured along with the original 7 members in the JLU episodes.
Whether you just really enjoy well designed animation with good storylines, miss the Saturday morning hero cartoons of your youth (though these are WAY better), or subscribe to channels like the Cartoon Network so you can watch cartoons -- even when your kids aren't watching with you, you will truly enjoy owning this collection. (I own all four seasons of "Batman, The Animated Series," all three seasons of "Superman, the Animated Series," and the entire JLA/JLU series collection.)Justice League Unlimited - Season One (DC Comics Classic Collection)
Amazing.......2007-05-15
This show is amazing. It's the most gripping and captivating show I've seen lately, and I'm not just talking about cartoons. The characters are mature and appear as they do in the comic, not as they should to 5 year olds. This show is smart, and deep, and funny and the animation is simply stunning. I was a pretty hardcore comic fan and the first few episodes I was a little dissappointed. What I had liked about the first 2 seasons was that the show seemed like a Justice League of America comic book. You don't really get that feeling the first two episodes, but before you really realize what's happening; you don't care. You see Flash and Mister Miracle rescue Kalibek on Apokolips, or Green Arrow duke it out with Wildcat. Captain Atom AND Captain Marvel both throw down with Superman and it's absolutely amazing! There's also a continuing plotline and increasing tension between the expanded Justice League and Cadmus Labs. The final episode in this series appropiately titled "Epilogue" ties together every single DC animated Series from Superman: The Animated Series to Batman Beyond. This show is jaw dropping and shouldn't just be watched by kids. Anyone can appreciate this title.

In the final 13 episodes of Justice League Unlimited, Grodd recruits Lex Luthor, Sinestro, Bizarro, Giganta, and hordes of other villains to form the Legion of Doom, leading to numerous action-packed episodes of villains fighting the superheroes of the expanded JLU. The core members of the original series--Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, Flash, and Green Lantern--are supplemented by such heroes as Green Arrow, Black Canary, Supergirl, Red Tornado, and Mister Terrific. But even waves of super-beings would be a bore if the stories weren't compelling and well-thought-out, and dashed with humor. It's the respect for the viewer's intelligence that elevates JLU beyond a kids' series to arguably the best animated-superhero show ever.
During the season, Hawkgirl meets Katar Hol, Hawkman, who claims that he and Hawkgirl are the resurrection of centuries-ago lovers, which throws a wrench into her developing relationship with Green Lantern ("Shadow of the Hawk," "Ancient History"). Flash fights a rogue's gallery of his arch enemies alongside Batman and Orion ("Flash and Substance"), Luthor switches brains with the Flash in "The Great Brain Robbery" (inside joke: Michael Rosenbaum is the voice of Flash, but plays Lex Luthor in the series Smallville) , and Luthor's and Grodd's struggle for dominance of the Legion of Doom comes to a head in the final two-parter, which leads to an unlikely partnership against the ultimate supervillain. The series also dips into other characters and realms of DC comic-book lore, such as the Legion of Super-Heroes ("Far from Home"), Deadman ("Dead Reckoning"), the Seven Soldiers of Victory ("Patriot Act"), Birds of Prey ("Grudge Match"), and Mike Grell's Warlord ("Chaos at the Earth's Core"). In the bonus features, the series creators discuss JLU's ongoing Cadmus story line, there's a music-only track of the series' final episode, and the creators do a 30-minute on-screen commentary talking about three late-season episodes. --David Horiuchi

Customer Reviews:
An animated series that goes out in a BIG WAY!.......2007-07-07
Producers/writers Bruce Timm, James Tucker, and Dwayne McDuffie thought that season four would be the end of the series; however, Cartoon Network, which broadcast the show, gave the go-ahead for thirteen more episodes, making for a fifth and final season. Thus, the creative team pulled out all the stops and delivered stories that were tightly woven, brilliantly animated, and superbly acted by regular performers, as well as featured players.
These are some of the most entertaining shows of the five-year-old series.
Acting-wise, Kevin Conroy has had close to twenty years providing the voice of the animated Batman and he knows the character backwards and forward. Kudos should also go to Clancy Brown's "Lex Luthor," Michael Rosenbaum's "The Flash," Carl Lumbly's "Martian Manhunter," Susan Eisenberg's "Wonder Woman," and Maria Canals' "Hawkgirl." And one cannot overlook the contributions of recurring actors and their characters: CCH Pounder ("Amanda Waller), Michael Ironside ("Darkseid"), Powers Boothe ("Gorilla Grodd") and J.K. Simmons ("General Eiling").
The best episodes on the disc are the homage-to-things-past "I am Legion," the delightful "Flash and Substance" and its similarly constructed "The Great Brain Robbery," the reflective "Patriot Act," and the two-tiered punch of "Alive!" and "Destroyer," both which bring back favorite villains Darkseid and Brainiac.
Though billed as a "children's show," there are hints of bestiality, sexual innuendo, political correctness gone overboard, and bloodless battles that feature implied decapitations and/or deaths in massive explosions.
Thus, this isn't your father's "Challenge of the Superfriends" and it may require parental guidance should some questions arise about the characters' actions.
Another Fabulous Season.......2007-06-27
Definitely not as good as season one, but let's face it: how could they have done better than season one? Also, a lot of the storylines lack closure. However, apart from that (and a serious lack of the Question) season two offers the same quality storyline, humor, and entertainment that we've come to expect. It's only half as long as the other seasons, but old fans of Justice Friends will appreciate the Legion of Doom plotline, and the last two episodes are amazing.
Great buy. If you've got the other three seasons, you definitely can't pass this up, but you certainly don't have to have seen the others to get your money's worth of entertainment out of this season.
And Justice For All.......2007-06-02
Who couldn't love this series? Besides being arguably the finest action cartoon conceieved, it features the greatest pop culture icons out there. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, and over 50 other DC Universe characters each with their own quirks, strengths, and weaknesses. The series alternates from absolutely hilarious to deeply serious, each episode is a gem in and of itself. The only problem with the series is that it ended far too soon. Highly recommended to all people of all ages.
Totally enjoyed it.......2007-05-28
Not a lot to say except that I totally enjoyed JLU. It was
great to sit back kick back and enjoy the old team despite the fact
that most of the focus was on the bad guys. They were funny in themselves.
Anyway recommend any JLU fan to have a squiz and see for yourself.
Is this the end?? Say it ain't so........2007-05-25
No matter what anyone says, you have to have this! It's the end!! How can you miss the end of one of the greatest cartoons to ever hit television screens??? Huh?? Anyway,JLU ends with (Spoilers) the introduction to the Legion of Doom. This is only two disks so you'll probably breese through them pretty quick once you get hooked. I must say that the Superheroine brawl in Grudge Match was some of the craziest cartoon fighting I've ever seen. Darkseid looks really cool when he is resurrected by that idiotic Lex Luthor. As usual, Batman is the man! Just thought I should put that in. Well, I guess we say goodbye to Green Lantern, Hawkgirl (who's love triangle keeps you guessing)Flash(whose pretty much an open book) Jonn Jon'zz (Who has a family now! Who woulda thought)Wonder Woman (Ms. Princess of the Universe) Superman (The man of steel) Batman (The Man!!) and all the other dozens of DC heroes. We also say goodbye to excellent script writing and story lines as we enter the new age of C-class cartoons such as "The Batman" and "Legion of Superheroes." If you haven't gotten this best of the best cartoon yet, GET IT NOW!! Because it's not only the last of JLU, but the last of good cartoons period.

Super Friends? We don't need no stinking Super Friends?.......2007-06-28
When I was a kid, I loved the Super Friends, primarily because it was really my only shot at seeing the Justice League on TV. Of course, the Super Friends were sort of JLA-lite--with the exceptions of the episodes featuring the Legion of Doom and Darkseid and his minions. This series from Bruce Timm (of Batman: The Animated Series) and company brings the spirit of the comics to the TV screen, and while there were some missteps in this first season, it was a sign of really, really good things to come.
Worlds Finest.......2007-05-25
What can I say. This is a great show. I absolutely love Batman's new look. I think it's the best look he has had so far. Slimmer, pointier ears, black and blue-shaded cape and cowl, heels, the whole nine. I don't like Superman's new Jaw lining however. I heard it was made to make him look older. Right. Dumb idea. Glad they got it right in the next season. This is a great show I say again. Green Lantern (the soldier), Flash (Who's Hilarious) Wonder Woman (Gorgeous), HawkGirl (Fiesty) and the Martian Manhunter (the loner). Get every DVD like I did and you definately will not be dissapointed. As good as JL Season one is it just gets better and better with JL Season 2 and even better with JLU Seasons 1 and 2. The WW2 finale at the end is also great. So what are you waiting for!? Get it! Now!!
"Pure Dope, minus the baking soda".......2007-05-19
This is the best superhero toon ever released on DVD....if you don't buy it you will regret it. The Cadmus arc is the best story written for a toon, congrats to the Timm/Dini team for a masterpiece. Topped off with a cherry "Batman Beyond's "Epilogue"...it just doesn't get any better.
Great.......2007-05-15
It is justice league, of course it is going to be great. Flash was the funniest of course. It was nice to see how the group began.
Great Start To The Series.......2007-05-12
While definitely not as good as the second season, this is worth a buy if you are at all interested in any of the superheroes. The episodes get visibly better as you watch each successive one, and these are the first DVDs where I actually watched the commentary.

Better characterization and epic storylines combined with the usual topnotch voice talent make Justice League's second season even better than the first. Some of the more intriguing story lines involve the League forming an unlikely partnership with Darkseid against Brainiac ("Twilight"); an alternate-dimension Justice League establishing a martial state in order to keep the peace ("A Better World"), which raises an interesting moral question that came up later in DC's Identity Crisis comic series; the death of Superman ("Hereafter"); and the League teaming up with Doctor Fate, Aquaman, and Solomon Grundy ("The Terror Beyond"). Other villains include the Secret Society and the Joker's Royal Flush Gang; Amazo, the android who can absorb the heroes' powers; Vandal Savage; and Eclipso. Most story lines are given two episodes (except the holiday-themed single episode "Comfort and Joy" and the three-part season finale "Starcrossed") and involve some combination of the seven Justice Leaguers: Batman (voiced by Kevin Conroy, continuing his work from Batman: The Animated Series), Superman (George Newbern), Wonder Woman (Susan Eisenberg), J'onn J'onzz (Carl Lumbly), Hawkgirl (Maria Canals), Green Lantern (Phil Lamarr), and the Flash (Michael Rosenbaum). One of the themes developed was an emerging relationship between Hawkgirl and another Leaguer, but it threatens to come apart in the monumental "Starcrossed," when her fellow Thanagarians arrive on Earth to protect humanity from a Gordanian invasion and it turns out Hawkgirl has been keeping a secret from her teammates. Producer Bruce Timm, casting director Andrea Romano, and others also worked on the highly regarded Batman and Superman animated series, and the result is one of the best animated series on television, satisfying for adults and sometimes too intense for kids.
DVD features include commentary by producers Timm and James Tucker, director Butch Lukic or writer Stan Berkowitz, and story editor Dwayne McDuffie on three episodes (why they love Hawkgirl: "If she loves you, she loves you with all her heart. If she hates you, she's gonna hit you with that big honkin' mace."), and featurettes on the voice talent and the second season. The series is shown in the widescreen format it adopted for this season, but it's not anamorphically enhanced for widescreen televisions, which is unusual for 2006, especially considering Starcrossed was released in anamorphic widescreen as a stand-alone DVD in 2004. --David Horiuchi

Can't get no better than THIS...or can it???.......2007-05-25
As much as I enjoyed Season 1, it's like Bruce Timm and his team got slapped with an amazing script writing genie doll or sumthin! Superman went from mediocre 'throw a punch here and take a punch there', to I'll bust yo face in all out brawler. Got to luv it. That fight with Darkseid in the beginning is Grade A material. All the episodes are almost all top notch. And alot of relationships between the characters develop. GL and Hawkgirl huh? Who woulda thought. I really like the flirtation with my favorite character Batman by Wonder Woman. But as always, Batman plays it cool. She was a little quick to make out with him in Starcrossed don't you think?? I do. Anyway, Flash is still our fun-luvin funny guy, Martian is still the "I'm so alone" person he always was, and Hawkgirl...man what a twist in Starcrossed. Again 'A' material. If I'm talking to somebody who hasn't checked this out yet then you need to get this...Now!! No Joke. You're only missing out on one of the best cartoons known to man!!!
Fantastic!.......2007-05-14
I really liked watching season one so I decided to get season two. Season two was fantastic! Some of the story lines were incredible. I was hooked. Next step...Justice League Unlimited!
Huge Improvement Over First Season.......2007-05-12
The first season was great fun, but the second season of Justice League shows how much the writers and animation has progressed. Watch the first season, and then watch this, and then watch all the commentary. You won't be sorry.
Awesome Second season!.......2007-05-12
Justice League just kept getting better. Too bad it had to end. No problems with shipping. I got it right away.
Actual rate should be 4 1/2, but....!.......2007-05-09
...as the system does not permit such a rating, I will settle for 4.
After having seen all of the Batman: TAS seasons, all of the Superman:TAS seasons, and Justice League SEason 1, I was expecting something similar to those. A little more progression of some plots, but litte more. How wrong I was!!
I think I did not like about 2 o 3 episodes, top. The rest kept me glued to the TV, just wanting to see what the next episode will take into the ongoing storyline/continuity. As much as I have loved the other DC animation seasons I have just mentioned (specially Batman), this definitely was the BEST season!!! Until, Justice League Unlimited Season 1 arrived!!! And I am going to keep the 5 stars for that one, in my next review!!
Make yourself a favor, and pick JL Seasons 1 and 2, and if you enjoy them, then dig into JLU: Season 1 (I have not purchased JLU: Season 2, so I cannot tell if has kep the level of excellence, or not).
Enjoy!

Fantastic! Expands on the existing seasons brilliantly!.......2007-06-28
There is no doubt that the Justice Leagues give you a full appreciation for the DC comic book heroes. The storylines, dialogue, voice over actors and fight scenes are first rate for any television show - cartoon or otherwise! Anyone thinking of buying these series should not hold any doubt. They were so good I even wrote a big thanks to Warner Bros and DC comics for the production!
Wonderful Entertainment!.......2007-06-13
I remember feeling a little disappointed after watching the 1st episodes of the Justice League series. Some bad decisions (in my opinion) regarding characters design and some dull plots have led me to the conclusion that the new series would never reach the same level of entertainment from the previous BATMAN / SUPERMAN shows. I am happy to say that I was wrong.
Justice League has grown in quality during its 1st two seasons and every new episode turned out to be better than the previous one. Even the characters design issues were solved. The 2nd season of the series presents some of the greatest stories from all DC Comics animated series.
After Season 2 final episode, the creative team responsible for the series embraced the challenge of taking the series to another level by creating the Justice League Unlimited, a group of super heroes formed by as many "good guys" from the DC Comics Universe as possible.
The result was great! Justice League Unlimited - Season 1 presents what I consider to be the best arc of stories from all of DC Comics Animated Series.
It is hard to say more without revealing important aspects of the series, but I don't think I'll be telling much if I say that this particular arc involves a complex plot and offers a new perspective about super heroes: Is it a good idea to have so much power in the hands of few super heroes? The search for the answer for such question resulted in a great development for the series and a must-have collection for all DC Comics fans.
Justice League Unlimited - Season 2 is good entertainment too, although not as great as Season 1. But it definitely concludes the whole Justice League series beautifully and lets us fans wishing for more episodes... I really hope that happens someday.

I agree with the above statement.......2007-06-09
Regarding the price, this is far too expensive. But it's more than worth it if this is your preferred way of ordering DVD sets. JUSTICE LEAGUE and JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED are, hands-down, the BEST animated series to grace the airwaves since the Batman animated series kicked off in 1992. The animation was top-notch, the characterizations and voice work was terrific and the writing of the shows rivaled that of pretty much any live-action genre show (such as LOST or 24). And tragically, due to the fad of anime, JL and JLU's lifespans were cut short by the Cartoon Network and a series that should have lasted many more seasons than something like DRAGONBALL Z only lasted 3 and 1/2 seasons. If you're a fan of the DC universe, of comic books, of cartoons, or just of great storytelling in general, do yourself a favor and get immersed in JUSTICE LEAGUE.
Good show, Bad price.......2007-06-08
I really love the Justice League cartoon. It retained much of the character and charm of Batman: The Animated Series, while exposing viewers to a wider array of stories and personalities. I recommend the series to anyone who like heroes and comics. It's good for kids from early teen years on up.
Unfortunately this 2-pack of DVDs is a bit of a bad deal. At the time I'm writing this it is priced at $80.99, a full $15 or so more than the 2 season sets individually. Why it is priced that high I have no idea.
Do yourself a favor and check out those individual sets first to see which is the better deal, OK?
Justice League - Season One (DC Comics Classic Collection)
Justice League - Season Two (DC Comics Classic Collection)
If you like them the 2 seasons of the follow-up series Justice League: Unlimited are available in a set at a much more reasonable price of $45.99, as of this writing, too.
Justice League Unlimited, Seasons 1-2 (DC Comics Classic Collection)
Enjoy!

Clever writing .......2007-06-24
This is no SuperFriends. The stories and dialog have enough in jokes and secondary comic characters to make this a better than average cartoon show. I read DC comics when I was a child and didn't see the characters for over 20 years, yet the show reminded me that I read stories of Booster Gold, Red Tornado, Hal Jordan/Green Latern. Even if you don't know the characters the stories are enjoyable. I also prefer the more realistic animation to the Titans/LSH style.
Where's the season box set?.......2006-07-11
I can't believe that WB is taking a step back like this. I love that they have been able to release a boxed set for the different seasons of their other shows such as Batman the Animated series and Justice League. What's up with these single disc releases for Justice League Unlimited? It's a shame. If you like the show, you should wait until they get smart and realse a boxed set.
ok..........2006-03-25
The show is just too fiction unlike X-Men:Evolution, but the actions awesome as well. But was trying to find some romance/drama here but just couldn't./
Justice league Unlimited- Joining forces.......2006-03-18
I am a fan of the Justice league and found this DVD to be quite enjoyable. I got my grandchildren hooked and they are 2 and 3years of age. The stories in this series were exciting and (of course) had messages of caring for humanity. I recommend this and other series of this nature to everyone.

why do they make trash like this.......2006-10-01
this has GOT to be the worst show ever ever ever ever ever animated they just do not write good stories or take the time to do any of the shows right i do not like the way they treat superman or batman. superman should be the one the league looks up to because that is how it is in the comics and in the comics he inspires other heros to use their powers for good batman makes it clear he does not want to be told what to do. in the comics it is that way but what we have here is superman as the team member instead of the team hero and batman more of a team player. they could have easly done a show with just batman and superman with supporting dc comic heros like supergirl and nightwing and robin
and batgirl.in the comics superman fights sometimes up to four or five superpowered villians at one time he did some of that in the new superman animated series batman as well in both animated series and comics this shows degrades two of the most popular heros of all time. the justice league movies are good starcrossed and secret origins
Bring on the boxsets...please!.......2005-09-04
My three boys and I love these cartoons but come on already WB...give us the whole seasons already!
We want season box sets !.......2005-06-23
Only 4 episodes on 1 DVD (ie 2 stories), isn't it a bit short when we could get a season box set? Those're from the 1st season of the Justice League, which wasn't so good at the time, although "Injustice for all" & "The Brave & the Bold" do have nice moments (especially in the first, when Batman seduces each member of the Injustice Gang to turn them against each other). There're many plot holes, stupid lines, Superman's too weak, the action is sometimes too slow (but the animation's great, every character's on-model). Compared to what Bruce Timm & his crew are doing now with the Justice League Unlimited (and also to their previous works), this is only mediocre (but they were learning to tell multiple-character stories).
That's why Warner should (MUST!) release season box sets (filled with audio commentaries, sketches & featurettes), so that the better episodes can make up for the most annoying ones. Come on, Warner, the 4th season is comming to an end now, don't you think it's high time you release the previous ones? I would buy them, you know, and I wouldn't be the only one!
Great 4 all.......2005-03-14
We bought this for my 3 yr old daughter and she loves it. She watches it all the time. It is great because it has 4 epis. So she goes to bed after 2 of the 4. Its easy for her to follow and she loves to pretend to be hawk girl. Its not a highly educational video...it fun! I enjoy watching with her too and I'm 24!
DON'T BUY THIS DVD!!!.......2005-03-11
It's an understatement that many of us feel ripped off by WB's attempt to unfairly empty our wallets. If we refuse to buy these horribly priced episode dvds and at the same time purchase the available full season box sets that are of value then we can make some headway. They are in the business of making $$$. Slowing their cash flow will force them to give us consumers' products we demand or risk losing our disposable income. Die-hard fans of this series and other series must convince every parent to withhold from purchasing these dvds until full seasons are made available. C'mon WB, we love these shows and will pay for them. We only ask that you don't rape our wallets. Give us the full season box sets much sooner.

Hollywood Strikes Again.......2006-03-25
Once again, corporate america is attempting to gouge our pockets (and our common sense) with this junk offering. I am a die-hard JLA fan but I refuse to give in to this DVD piracy. This is classic carrot-and-stick. Once they've exhausted these copies MAYBE they'll finally start offering complete seasons. Don't waste your money on this piece of garbage.
Real JLA fans will protest and fight this injustice.
Don't Buy This Piece Of CRAP.......2006-02-11
Get the full season. . .it's coming soon and will be a MUCH better collection than this palrty garbage.
Warner Bros. should be tarred and feathered for offering this as a "Collector's Edition" - it's just repackaged copies of the single DVD's they've released - not worth the money, not even worth their price as frisbees to toss at idiotic WB exec's heads.
Save your money and have some patience.
JLA Collectors BEWARE!.......2005-10-21
As a 56 year old JLA collector (completist) with every JLA comic ever printed, bought from the stands, AND a masive collection of JLA related items, I thought this was going to be THE video collection to have. IT ISN'T. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS!
What WE all want is "JLA Season 1"; JLA Season 2" etc. NOT some jumbled mixture of some of the episodes while missing others. If WB wants MY money, they will do like they have done for Smallville, and release each season, in a COMPLETE collection with EVERY episode, in the order of their TV showing.
Don't waste you money on this, no matter HOW good the video is. If it isn't complete, you will just have to buy more later and waste your money on duplicated episodes.
Buyer Beware.......2005-08-10
A few years ago I purchased B:TAS VHS tapes. Then I purchased the DVDs. Then I purchased the collected box sets. Don't make the same mistake I did. I was lucky enough to sell my double copies however I still lost plenty of money. Warner will release a complete season box set or else people will illegally make their own by downloading them or getting them off the black market. Warner will be extremely niave to let this happen. Be patient wait for the season box sets.
I agree with many reviewers.......2005-03-22
It's a rip-off, selling the episodes three at a time and at inflated prices. Insert sermon on the disintegration of integrity and mankind's slide into a moral abyss sticky with ignoble motivation and short-sighted thinking. Phooey.
The show itself was very good, the writing transending the level of many TV shows and movies. Fun for us boomers who grew up with stuff like this, filled with messages of hope and basic humanitarian values, not the holier than thou hypocrisy that passes for "moral values" today.

Not even tempted.......2007-07-08
I prefer to see season 1, season 2 etc. If I buy this than why would I want to be a season and have duplicate episodes. I also think it would be a good idea to have a down loadable file sample of movies or TV shows.
5 star entertainment for the family.......2006-11-11
I enjoyed watching the DVD with my whole family. It is very well made. Nice animation and clear speech.
Too few episodes, no bonus features.......2006-07-25
I loved the three half-hour episodes included in this collection.
But that's it. Not even 90 minutes of programming. Other Justice League DVDs contain four hourlong episodes, so this should have at least eight half-hours. And where are the "making of" documentaries?
Very disappointing.
Justice League Unlimited Saving the World.......2006-07-23
If you can't buy them all this is one you will want to get-it explains how the Justice League came about...not all super heros want to be a part of it. There is a wonderful episode where Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern are turned into children. You'll see heros that you will want to see more of-these are episodes that adults and children can enjoy.
A time to complain.......2006-03-23
After finding out the release style the WB has for the JLU series I felt I had to complain in as many places as possible. It was very nice to see the Starcrossed series released in wide screen format all together...but to remarket this series in a way that loses the majority of its fanbase?...stop that!
