In a story both enjoyable and educational, Christopher Robin is having a potluck party and informs his friends that they must each count out 10 items in order to attend. While everyone is busy counting, Pooh and Roo are in a panic--they don't know how to count and time is running out. Not to worry, Owl tells Roo as he gives him a private tutorial, teaching him through song that "Every number has its own name, and each number has to be in the right order." Rabbit joins in with a counting memory game and Tigger lends his talents with the catchy song "Bouncerific." Lots of instruction is packed into this gently paced program, which includes the voice talents of Jim Cummings (as Pooh and Tigger) and is delightfully reminiscent of the earliest Pooh stories. Preschoolers will learn the difference between numbers and letters, be able to identify numbers in everyday life, and learn to count to 10 while recognizing numbers on the screen. (Ages 2 to 6) --Lynn Gibson

Daughter watches over and over and is never bored.
Best counting DVD.......2007-05-03
Roo wants to learn to count. First, he goes to Owl who teaches him the numbers 1 through 10 and the difference between numbers and letters. Then he goes to Rabbit for more lessons. When Roo counts out of order Rabbit teaches him that numbers have to be in order. He tells Roo that he needs to memorize the order by practicing. Rabbit also shows Roo how to count by pointing to each item as he counts. Finally, Tigger teaches Roo how to count by bouncing each thing he wants to count once.
My 2 year old was already able to count to 10 when she got this, but she didn't understand how to count items. I had tried to teach her myself and I got her the Baby Math Numeracy video but she still didn't get it. She was able to count 5 to 6 items after watching this video just a few times.
entianing for my three year old.......2006-11-11
I bought this for my son, and he has enjoyed it. I like the fact that it's not more than a half hour. Any longer and my son wouldn't watch it. He likes to watch this while I make dinner, so it makes an entertaing yet educational, so I don't feel as guilty "putting him in front of the dreaded television."
Great introduction to numbers!.......2006-08-23
I ordered this DVD from reading some of the reviews on Amazon and thought I would give it a try. It was definately worth it as my 2 1/2 year old daughter loves it! The Winnie The Pooh characters make learning numbers fun. They also sing some catchy songs that she loves. It is nice to know she can watch her favorite characters and learn something too. I do not think you can go wrong with this one!
cute video but can be confusing.......2006-07-30
I actually got this video from the library and my 2.5 yr old loves it. The counting song is very catchy and my son loves the tigger scene. I like that it isn't so fast paced and flashy. It's a bit more old fashioned in the sense that its not designed for ADD children.
I have to agree with a previous poster that when Roo gets the numbers out of order that confused my son, who was able to count to five without a problem, but then after watching the video started counting out of order! We've been able to correct that but I definitely think it confused him.
Overall- I liked the video and I was on Amazon to actually buy it since it was such a hit in our house.
