Everyone's favorite preschool monster demonstrates three activities in this compilation of some popular "Elmo's World" segments from Sesame Street. Joining him are segment regulars Dorothy the pet goldfish and Mr. Noodle, the lovable, bumbling adult stand-in for children, who makes mistakes but perseveres until he gets it right. In each episode, real children also take turns mastering the skill. In "Dancing," Elmo shows off his finesse at the flamenco and hula, while the children choose more free-form moves. (Elmo's monster friend Zoe also makes a cameo appearance.) In "Books," a boy and his father visit the library in search of dinosaur books. And in "Music," kids play the flute and violin, while Mr. Noodle is a little slow in learning to bang the drum. For parents who meant to tape the "Elmo's World" segments, but never quite did it, this 45-minute video is a lucky break. My daughter is 2 and loves Elmo. She only wants to watch this movie...over and over and over...The first thing she askes for in the morining is to "watch Elmo!" We actually have to limit her time watching it! I like it because it teaches her a lot about music, dancing, counting, and books.

Fun w/catchy tunes and skits.......2006-11-23

My two year old is an Elmo lover so we have been collecting Elmo DVDs and this one ranks at the top. I have to say so far all of the Elmo's World DVDs have proven to be good viewing for my toddler. She absolutely loves all of the singing, dancing and educational interaction that the DVD has to offer. I even caught her humming the Elmo's World song one day. I too disagree with the negative feedback because it doesn't hold their childs attention long enough, well when it comes to toddlers you are lucky if anything holds their attention for more than 5-10 minutes. Even though the DVD is only 50 minutes long my daughter will usually sit for at least thirty minutes and that was the other thing that impressed me about these Elmo DVDs.

The first Elmo DVD she got was Elmo and the Great Outdoors and she totally fell in love with it and she was watching it every day. She sat for that DVD for almost the entire 50 minutes. I have to say all of the Elmo's World DVDs get a thumbs up from me and I will continue to buy them (for my sanity) because she can watch the same one over and over again.

The Best Kids' DVD Ever.......2006-01-26

This is a great one! The Mr Noodle dances alone, if you stop to watch them, are simply amazing. I also love the little Elmo in costume vignettes like Elmo as a Spanish dancer or as all the members of a ragtime band. This DVD has a good length compared to other kid's DVDs we've bought too. While watching Sesame Street my daughter's attention goes in and out depending on what is happening, but with this disc she gives 45 minutes of total absorption. My only complaint is that you have to watch about 2 minutes of ads for other sesame street releases before you get to the program, very contrary to the educational TV ethos in my opinion.
