The show is dramatic, but never overly theatrical; best of all, Sade, while perhaps not the world's greatest performer, is an adult--you'll find no pop-princess posing here. Of the nine songs from Lovers Rock, "Slave Song" and "Immigrant" are especially moving, revealing that Sade added some new flavors to her sound during her protracted layoff from performing. I love this concert. Sade is my absolute favorite singer and has been since her first album. She is one of the few artist whose work I purchase without ever having to hear it first. I saw this concert in the Washington DC area and this is a great way to remember the show. Sade will be around as long as she chooses. Her classy style is timeless.

Not having recognized that it was Gwen Stefani from the occasional radio plays of the song Don't Speak by No Doubt in Britain in the Nineties, I was intrigued by the latest single The Sweet Escape and thought she was a new artist. But I was totally stunned when I saw this new DVD of the Harajuku Lovers tour captured at Anaheim in late 2005. It excels on so many levels - the vitality of the music and the unique choreography to the high end technical excellence of the video production and sound quality. The pacing is perfect. Every number is brilliantly done and the phenomenal energy of the star of the show herself never falters once. And she is capable of such a range of styles in both music and costume.
The singing is all live - even including some double voicing from the backing artists - and Stefani herself puts other better known pop stars (at least from UK) to shame with the consistency and sincerity of her delivery. This is marred only by the occasional expletive which I believe are deleted on some versions of the DVD and from audio CDs.
This DVD will remain a top favourite in my collection for a very long time and was worth every cent.

Waited for this and expected it to be a top class production. But what a waste....I can't understand how musicians can release a DVD that sounds this bad. Seems a rushed production and more of a money spinner than a quality product.

My 11-year-old daughter LOVES Gwen Stefani and I do, too. In the fall of 2005, we went to see Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers tour in Chicago. This DVD let's us re-live that awesome concert and makes us even more devoted fans. While some of the songs and dances may be for a more mature crowd than 11, all-in-all I believe Gwen Stefani is an incredibly strong, talented woman and a positive role model.

I love this dvd. Great performances with real singing! Gwen does it again with a great mix of songs from her first solo cd L.A.M.B. Effects and costumes are awesome. Keep it up Gwen, I'm still buying!

THESE 2 DISCS ARE OFFERED IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS. THE PRICES OF EACH OPTION KEEP CHANGING. CHECK THE OTHER OPTIONS TO SEE WHICH IS THE BEST VALUE AT THE TIME.

This is sold 2 different ways:
Lovers Live DVD with Lovers Rock CD in a DVD box
or
Lovers Rock CD with Lovers Live DVD in a standard CD jewel case.

It is basically the same thing, except for the box. It is cheaper to buy it as a CD+DVD in the music section than to buy it as a DVD+CD in the DVD section.

You can also buy them separately. If you don't want the CD or the DVD, it is slightly cheaper to buy them individually.

There is also a CD version of Lovers Live, but it does not contain all the tracks.

Go to those other options and you will see numerous reviews about the DVD and CD's.

Really Good But...........2006-03-21

I enjoy this DVD, the music is over my expecteations, but it has some things I don't like.
The root menu seems to have some kind of problem, cause when you want to enter to some items yakes too much time, and frecuently do not enter, like in the songs selecction. I must say I tray it in some different player and in computers but remains the same.
Another thing is that the songs are cut off, when the songs ends, the screen fade away, both image and sound, so it takes continuity to the concert.

This is a great dvd but vhs quality- which is ok.
there is no indication of the year the concert was videotaped.
the soundtrack is also on cd. This is all there
is live for one of the best reggae artists.

I PURCHASED THIS DVD AND RETURNED IT ON 3 SEPERATE OCCASSIONS. THE REASON FOR THIS IS BECAUSE WHEN I PLAYED THE DVD, THE PICTURE WAS EXTREMELY FUZZY. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED BY THE PEOPLE AT A & B SOUND THAT THE CAUSE FOR THIS WAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I WOULD LOVE TO PURCHASE/OWN THIS DVD, BUT I KNOW THAT THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN. FOR ALL YOU REGGAE FINATICS LIKE MYSELF, CHECK OUT MORGAN HERITAGE - LIVE AT THE LONDON ASTORIA, OR STEEL PULSE - LIVE FROM THE ARCHIVES. THESE TWO DVD'S ARE THE BEST IN MY COLLECTION.

Cool Ruler Gone Cold.......2004-11-04

I was really excited to open up this DVD, crank up the volume, and skank along with the one and only Gregory Isaacs. Unfortunately I was disappointed from the outset. The video quality is quite poor (along with camera-work and editing) and Gregory himself was a sad sight. A once handsome, confident, strapping figure, he is now reduced to a grey-haired, pot-bellied, teetering old shell of himself. What's equally disappointing is the obvious weakness of his once strong, silky voice. In fact, his songs often sound best when he turns his mike to the audience (which he does constantly throughout the show). Gregory has been such a wonderful part of the reggae world that it's heartbreaking to see what he's become. On the positive side, the song selection is excellent and the 5.1 audio really sounds great. If your a huge Isaacs fan you may want to fork over the cash to get this disc, otherwise take that same money and purchase one of his many, many classic cds.

Gregory is fantastic. The band is incredible. This is a must for any reggae fan- a must. I only wish there was some cedits given to this fantastic band members. I wish there names were printed.

I really enjoyed this DVD and it's a must for any fan of the "Cool Ruler" and reggae music in general. The previous performances on DVD did not have enough of Gregory performing. Because I own the CD version of this release; I was intially concerned about the fast paced performance; not so with the DVD. He "cools down the pace" on this version. I highly recommend this DVD. If I can say anything remotely negative about the DVD; it is the editing. I didn't enjoy the black-outs that occurred while transitioning between certain songs. Again, this is merely a disapproval I have with editing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND - Gregory Isaacs: Live in San Francisco.
