It was a battle between old and new, but in the end, youth prevailed and Illmaculate walked away with $2000 and the title as youngest MC to win in Scribble Jam history.

Excellent DVD.......2006-05-18

This DVD has everything one could hope to find at Scribble Jam. A great MC battle, DJ battle, graffiti, breakdancing, beatboxing, and performances from a couple indie hip-hop heavyweights. One of the best parts of this DVD is the sound quality. Many other live DVDs, especially of underground artists, have crackly, poor sound quality, but this DVD sounds almost like a CD. It really is impressive. The MC battle is great. Mac Lethal isn't as good as he has been in the past, but Illmaculate is hilarious. The live performances are very good. Great performances by Brother Ali, Blueprint, Eyedea & Abilities, Living Legends, and Glue. The Sage performance was far too short, and there was no Atmosphere. I don't know what the overall length of this DVD is in total, but I estimate it's somewhere around or over three hours. My one complaint is that it is not split into chapters. The MC battle, for instance, is over one hour long on the DVD, and you cannot skip chapters. If you wanted to go back and watch a favorite battle, you would have to fast-forward. So it is a little inconvenient, but it is overall the best music DVD I have ever bought, and I intend to buy more Scribble DVDs.

I enjoy listening to real hip hop. I enjoy more watching and hearing real hip hop and thats what you get when you watch Scribble Jam. Any of them pack the same message. The best and purest stuff is still underground.

Sage Francis performance though short was great. Eyedea and Abilities, Glue, Brother Ali all the performances were great.

The freestyle battles without question are the highlight for me on the Scribble Jam dvds.

If you like real hip hop all art forms from the paint , breakin, mixin everything is there. Go and get it.

Best Scribble Jam yet..........2005-06-15

Scribble Jam 04 has some of the best scribble jam battles EVER!! Mac Lethal killed every round but ended up losing to illmacualate in the finals. illmac is a local 17 year old from here, Portland Oregon, my home town! He surprisingly beat Swann in the second round and later took out Franco in the Quarter Finals, on his way to Becoming the 04 Champ! Every single battle was enjoyable!

The DJ finals came down to Brace vs. Scratch Bastid (03 Champ) The B-Boy finals was also great! This DVD is full of every facet of Hip Hop! Brother Ali performs 'Champion' and 'Forest Witiker' Eyedea and Abilities also perform. If you like Underground Hip Hop and battles this is a must have...
