Perseverance and commitment to friendship are qualities that serve Dora well in this double-length Dora the Explorer episode that has Dora singing up a storm and, by the end, sporting a whole new look. Dora and Boots step through a magical gate into Fairytale Land where they discover classic fairytale characters, sweets, and a mean Witch (voiced by Chita Rivera). When Boots eats a tainted banana, he slumbers under a spell that can only be broken by a hug from a true Princess. Problem is, there are no true Princesses in Fairytale Land and time is limited. Dora vows to become a true Princess and embarks upon a challenging journey that begins with a search for a red ring hidden in a dragon's cave. Next she strives to get past a giant in order to teach the rocks to sing and then to defeat marching snowmen, rolling snowballs, and threatening storm clouds to turn winter into spring. Finally, Dora must somehow deliver the moon to the King and Queen. Spanish language skills, careful listening, compassion, and physical movement are promoted in this celebration of Dora's resolve to "never give up" in her quest to awaken her friend "Sleeping Boots." 5 out of 5 stars Cute, Fun, Educational! .......2007-03-03

Oh my God! My 19 month old loves this movie! Dora and Boots are having so much fun while helping fairytale characters along the way. One thing though, the Giant who "lost the puppy" scene should not have been included. I am glad that my daughter is till too young to know what it means to "help" a stranger look for a puppy or anything else for that matter. When the time is come, we will explain to her that it is NOT okay to help strangers look for anything they've lost. Otherwise, great movie!

This movie is so cool! Dora and Boots discover a pretty gate that'll lead them to Fairytale Land. When Boots and Dora enter, they see a lot of fairytale characters, such as the Three Little Pigs, Cinderella and more! After singing a song, they all lie down and a fruit tree gives Boots a banana and tells him to eat it. Boots then eats it and something happens - Some pink smoke comes out of the banana and is swirling around Boots, who is beginning to look sleepy. "Oh no! What's happening to Boots?", asks Dora as she and her new fairytale friends gather around Boots. A floating cloud forms with Boots sleeping on it while wearing cute red pajamas. It turns out that that fruit tree was disguised as a mean witch! Dora wonders how to break the spell on Boots and the Seven Dwarfs explain that they need a true princess to hug Sleeping Boots, but they don't have one and many had tried to pass the journey test, but they failed. Dora decides to volenteer to become a true, true princess to save her best friend, Boots. Just then, Dora sees a talking wall with falling rainbow leaves. The wall explains that if the very last leaf he has falls to the ground, Boots will permanently be asleep forever! Can Dora make her journey complete, become a princess and hug Boots as tight as she can right before the last leaf falls? Find out in this exciting special that you can buy/rent!

Really good for todlers. My daugther is 3 and she can't stop watching it. She repeats after Dora, she plays hide and seek, hiding away from the wicked witch and she dances when Dora dances. I am very happy with this DVD.

This is a cute story about Dora solving a problem for her friend, Boots. Dors earns rewards along her journey until she is able to use the rewards to save Boots. Very cute!

We normally love Dora the Explorer, but this video is marred by a dangerous message -- I would not recommend buying it. Dora encounters a giant who tells her he is sad b/c he has lost his puppy and she helps him find it and encourages the kids to do the same. Hello?! As other reviewers have noted, such stories have been used as ploys by predators to lure children. Although I used the opportunity to tell my 5 year old that Dora actually did not make a safe choice there and she should never do anything like that, young children are so impressionable that I wish she had not seen it in the first place.

My daughter is 15 months old and absolutely without a dought loves! loves! Dora The Explorer!!!!! Since she was about 9months old she has seen almost if every Dora episode. For her 1st Birthday, her theme was Dora. She rec'd this three pack DVD set as a gift and watches it every single day. We just got back from a 2 week road trip, and let me tell you, if it wasn't for Dora, I don't know if this kid would have lasted 13 hours driving in a car( good thing there was a DVD player!) Dora just brightens her day. She laughs with her, applauds when something is done correctly, dances to her songs and even helps catch the stars! My brother in law says that he even walks like Dora! If she ever is in a bad mood or is crying, let me tell you, Dora definately comes to her rescue! This is very fun, cute and educational. She'll probably catch on to Spanish in no time!
