I used to love this series when i was a kid. Now my daughter is in love with the series. They did a really good job with the DVD set. I just thought there were more earlier episodes of My Little Pony.

Great show, I loved this growing up, and my little girl adores this series. I much prefer this over the new MLP cartoons, which to me severly lack in any sort of plot.

Some people have complained about this being too scary for small children because there are witches and dragons and perilous storylines.

Seriously? At least these little poines fought evil and actually did something with there lives besides eat ice cream and do thier hair. (Although they do that too in this series.)

I have a four year old little girl who has watched this entire series several times and she adores it. Great fun for her and me, it's like living my childhood all over again with my daughter. To me that's precious. I highly reccommmend this to old and new MLP fans.

I'm a real fan of the children shows that were around when I was a kid since they have a real plot and tell good stories. When I saw this DVD set I got it for my two daughters and they loved it.

I am so happy that this show has been released! I was a huge MLP fan when I was younger and I am so thrilled that I can share these shows with my daughter, who is 4 years old. The new MLP movies are OK but they do not compare to the original TV shows and movies. My favorites were the sea ponies and now they are my daughters favorites as well! We can both sing along with them! I bought this boxed set over a year ago and it is still one of the favorites to watch in our house. Any one who was ever a fan of MLP needs this boxed set. Some of the episodes are out on single DVDs, but I think it is worth it to purchase the boxed set. There are some pretty evil villans that could scare young children but all you need to do is watch with them and answer their questions about the 'bad guys.'

My Little Pony I love the 80s revisited.......2006-08-09

This 4 disc collection of season 1 My Little Pony episodes provides a great trip down memory lane for any child of the 80s but is also a great set for any new millenium child or pre-teen who enjoys ponies, horses, or the G3 (newer released) my little ponies.

The box set has art work from the G2 (or second release of the MLP- late 90s) ponies because Hasbro lost the rights to the original MLP (G1- or generation 1- the original MLP characters). Don't let this fool you, however. The 4 disc multi episode collection features the beloved pegasus winged ponies, unicorns, spike the dragon, the bushwollies, as well as megan and the other Earth ponies.

The episodes have a more developed plot than the newer G3 (current movies) as well as ponies and vilians with more complex personalities and personas. Re-watching the episodes as an adult, it is fasanating to observe the many morales and complex issues that some of the ponies worked through.

As a pediatric provider, this is a great highly recommended television viewing boxed set to own and love for the current generation of pony fans or an adult with a little girl's heart and mind trapped inside.
