Description

In a distant galaxy, the world of Thundera is in crisis. The planet's structure has become unstable and is near collapse. With their destruction imminent, Thundera's denizens--known as the Thundercats--escape in a spaceship and plot a course for a new home. While in transit, the Thundercats are attacked by evil mutants and their craft is irreparably damaged. Jaga, the eldest Thundercat, sacrifices himself in order to pilot the ship safely to its destination: Third Earth.

Finalmente sacaron al mercado y en DVD esta extraordinaria serie que nos cautivo a toda la gente aya por los 90, un DVD con la primera temporada y como debía de ser; con audio opcional en español con las voces tal como las escuchamos en aquella oportunidad.

Ademas este box viene con material adicional que lamentablemente tampoco trae nisiquiera subtitulos en español por lo que perjudica a los latinos pero por lo demás está excelente.

ThunderCats Are Still ThunderCool after these years:).......2007-02-26

Talk about a blast to the past! I 'm still amamzed how ThunderCats are terriffic, not to mention how the show is put together with excellent writers voice cast and speical effects.. Pretty Farrr Outttt! That's one reasons why I wanted to get a degree in Video Production.

Even though I am a grown lady I still feel like a kid at heart, watching creatain programs like the Muppets or ThunderCats. I like to draw and write stories on ThunderCats.

Getting back to the DVD I forgetten how Devious and cunning Mumm-ra is, with his thundering sneaky tricks. The Muntans can be tricky but bumbling at times which makes me laugh. There are many allienes like Mardora the Evil Chaster, Willia and warroir maidens, The Roraberbils.

Back in the day 1980's I can relate to lion-o, snarf Lynx-o and Jaga for many reasons--mainly due to my disabity I has trouble with coorindation and people wouldn't give me a chance to try things like Snarf was. I was frusted sometimes snarf snarf!
I was happy to see Lynx-o as a self suffencient character desite the fact he is blind.
As for Jaga He is wise indeed, he reminds me of Obiwan Kenbioni of Star Wars, some people think the lessons might be courny or silly but I find them valuable whether it is from Lynx-o, or Jaga and anyone for that matter.

I would have like seen some more "Behind the Scences" stuff on the extras. An example: How did Ted Wolf or his daughter create the thundercats? Where did the chracters come from? Background stuff that fans might be instrested in .

Otherwise I would recommed these ThunderCats DVD sets to anyone who like educational or fanasty-type adventures. They don't make good programs like the 1970's and 80's anymore I miss them! Long live the ThunderCats and Silverhawks!!!

A classic 80's show on a flawed DVD set!.......2007-02-21

In 1985, the famous Rankin-Bass animation studios (the guys behind Rudolph, The Hobbit and The Last Unicorn) created an original and unique animated series that became a saturday morning phenomenon called "Thundercats". It tells the story of how a group of cat-like alien humanoids called Thundarians from planet Thundarr came to Third-Earth in the future for a place to stay until a group of evil mutants and a powerful dark lord named Mumm-Ra cause mayhem on the planet. The leader Lion-O has a magic sword in which he can summon his friends like the cunning Panthro, the beautiful Cheetara, the swifty Tigra, the hilarious Snarf and the helpful thunderkittens to help him battle the forces of evil. Thus a legendary animated show was born as it ranked in that time alongside "Transformers", "G.I. Joe", "He-Man", "She-Ra", "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends" and "Dungeons and Dragons".

This DVD has 33 episodes of the first part of the first season such as the origin episode "Exodus" followed by "Unholy Alliance", "Berbils", "The Slaves of castle Plun-Darr", "Pumm-Ra", "Terror of Hammerhead", "Trouble with Time", "The Tower of traps", "The garden of Delights", "Mandora The Evil Chaser", "The Ghost Warrior", ' The Doomgaze", "Lord of the Snows", "The Spaceship Beneath the Sanda", "The Time Capsule", "The Fireballs of Plun-Darr", "All That Glitters", "Spitting Image", "Mongor", "Return to Thundera", "Dr. Dometone", "The Astral Prison, "The Crystal Queen", "Safari Joe", "Snarf Takes Up The Challenge", "Sixth Sense", "The Thunder-Cutter", "The Wolfrat", "Feliner part 1 & 2", "Mandora and the Pirates", "Return of the Driller" and "Dimension Doom".

The DVD quality isn't too bad but somehow feels like a bootleg copy on the quality with the not-so bad sound and the only extra is a cool documentary that talks to fans of the show, all in all this is a masterful animated series that is a must have for animation lovers.

Thundercats is back from the past........2007-01-24

I don't know why people are flipping out and saying this box-set sucks.
The only thing I can agree with is that there isn't a LOT of special features, but come on. It's called Thundercats: Season 1-Volume 1. And that's exactly what it is.

It has the first 33 episodes of the series featured on six discs, so that's about $1.40 for each episode.

Where else are you going to get these classic cartoons?
Each story has a great moral, and the animation is amazing considering the series is over 20 years old.

If you're looking for some kind of new and improved, remastered, dolby surround sound DVD with 10 hours of extra features, don't bother with this set. Each episode looks just like it did on TV, and the only notable problem I had with the set was during the 1st episode, the picture kind of went off the screen for a second or two.

I'm glad I got this set, and when I have kids, they can watch this instead of that "Kids Next Door, Billy and Mandy, and Ed, Edd and Eddy" garbage on tv right now.

This DVD set is great, and I plan on getting the other 3 sets after I finish this one.

a blast from the past!.......2007-01-20

Thundercats was extremely difficult to find so im just glad i was able to time. however, the reason i gave you FIVE stars is for your delivery service. I ordered on the 15th of December and as notified by email the dvd was shipped and delivered no later than the 22nd of December.
