5 out of 5 stars Good Film. Strange Title.......2006-05-05

Why anyone would call a film about a kidnapped writer and canadian mounties "phantom patrol" is beyond me. There are neither phantoms, nor patrols in the film anywhere.

That's the only flaw in the film however and perhaps there was some historical reason for the name that I'm not aware of.

The film is top notch silly fun. A bad guy reads about a famous writer living alone in the woods. So, he kidnaps the writer and takes over his idenity and bank balance.

Then he makes the mistake of hiring a secreatry who slowly realizes he is not who he says he is. She calls in the mounties and he goes to jail and the writer is freed.

Good stuff.
