Customer Reviews:
Classic Western Escape.......2005-04-14
There's a "feel good" quality about this work. Maybe it's because it represents the settling of the Ole West. Perhaps it's because the "good guys" beat the "bad guys" and all is well in the end. It could be the wonderful panoramic views of the mountains and desert. Whatever it is, this is fun escapism. Certain similarities are found in all four of the episodes on this DVD.
"Convict Story" looks at a prisoner seeking revenge on his release from the state pen. "Oil Land" exposes the greedy nature of those who seek only to live for themselves. "Chain Lightning" and "Ghost Story" have clear cut good verses evil plots. In each case, the Cisco Kid is a better markeman than his adversaries. Pancho provides comic relief. There's always a pretty girl to be rescued. While these scripts were all built on a formula, the pattern works. It's a formula that holds your interest if you're a fan of Westerns.
