Very funny movie.......2007-05-21

This is a great movie...simiple...funny...just a day in the life of some young guys who are bored. Most people can relate.

I've seen this movie many and I mean many times. It's very funny and it simply shouldn't be analyzed. A plot doesn't exist in this comedy, nor is this a character-driven vehicle, but it's a wild ride from start to finish without much of a high budget.

"Friday" is an urban comedy that depicts a single day in the life of Craig (Ice Cube), who has just been fired on his day off. Craig's off day consists of interactions with various characters in the neighborhood. They include his cantankerous dad (John Witherspoon); his lovable mother (Anna Maria Horsford); his sister Dana (Regina King); his spoilt girlfriend Joi (Paula Jai Parker); his love interest (Nia Long); Deebo (Tiny "Zeus" Lister Jr.) the hulking neighborhood bully; Big Worm (Faizon Love) the neighborhood gangster; and his token friend Smokey (Chris Tucker).

There's not a lot that can be said about the acting and most of the help comes from the supporting characters. Such as, Chris Tucker who steals the show with his landmark role as ultra-pothead Smokey. Tucker has that unrelenting comic energy that only a comedian of supreme talent can possess. Even when the film falls flat, he picks you back up. I also have to commend John Witherspoon, as Ice Cube's father. I loved him on "The Wayans Bros." and I loved him in this movie. Though I was laughing most of the time, the gags are indeed crude--very crude. And sometimes that crudeness just wears out. Luckily, it's not too often, and there are some memorable lines and memorable moments in "Friday."

I feel as though this is one of the better movies about the hood. It' really more than just a comedy instead it puts forth a deeper meaning in life. It is about facing one's fears and becoming a man. In one scene, the father sees Craig with a gun and tells him that holding a gun won't make him man; it's having the courage to fight with his fists that will. Now, I know this doesn't sound like the greatest thing for a parent to be telling his kid, but in the projects fighting with one's hands instead of picking up a gun is courageous. This movie is great to own as well as the Ice Cube-based sound track.

this movie, i think is the funniest of the 3 because it has chris tucker. i cant belive its still funny after all these years. the fact that its on dvd just made me so exited i bought it just to watch it over a hundred times. it has alot of the best actors today. chris tucker, mia long, ice cube, burnie mac amog many others. i recomend this movie to anyone.

This movie is one of the Classics for anyone that was a teenager or in their early 20's back in the mid 90's. Its almost a have to have for the DVD Collection. Enjoy!

What would life be without your slacker homeboys? It seems like they take life less serious and have all of the fun. At least that's what this hood classic is about when Craig gets fired on his day off for allegedly stealing boxes. So Smoke Dog comes to save the day with a little of that sticky icky. Problem is that the weed belongs to Big Worm. The rest is hood comedy at its finest.

DJ Pooh steals the show as the lame who gets punked by Debo. Hilarious!

Did you know that the Permian Panthers have won more state championships then any other high school team in the state of Texas? That is a very good record considering that there are more high school teams in Texas than Kentucky and Tennessee put together.

In this great sports film it tells the true story of a high school football team in Odessa, Texas, where football is life. This movie was inspired by the true season of the 1988 Permian Panthers. Friday Night Lights was based on a book written by H.G. Bissinger, and was voted by ESPN the magazine the greatest football novel of all time.

This movie keys on the life of five ordinary small town boys that all share one dream, a state championship, Mike Winchell (Lucas Black), Boobie Miles (Derek Luke) Brian Chavez (Jay Hernandez), Don Billingsley (Garrett Hedlund), and Ivory Christian (Lee Jackson). These teenage boys have the weight of the world on them as they head into the 1988 season.

In this small town they have one huge quality that is football. Every Friday night all businesses close for the night and all the houses are empty. Since everybody is at Barrett Stadium one of the largest high school fields in the country. The Panthers are always one of the top teams in the state, and every year the community expects a state title. Considering all this anything less then a state championship is failure.

Permian heads in as a good favorite to win state, but when Permian's star All American running back, Boobie Miles, hurts his leg in there first game the teams confidence and chances decline. The panthers were then forced to start a tiny one hundred pound running back that is nowhere near the skill level of Boobie Miles. After Bobbie finds out he is out for the season, the whole team and town about give up on their chances of winning state. It looked as if there was a horrible disaster that happened in the town, the way everybody acted. However quarterback Mike Winchell, fullback Don Billingsley, and defensive end Ivory Christian will not let this team go down that easy.

The panthers manage to pull together a good season. They faced a season that Permian was not use to, finishing barely in front of five hundred. Losing games no one in town thought would be close. But they ended up in a three-way tie for first and second place in the region. As a result they do it the way everyone settles a tie, they flipped a coin. The coin flip went there way and they found them self in the state tournament. The team gets motivated after hearing about Boobie being hurt, and probably having his football career end. They then dedicate the state tournament to Boobie. Permian makes it all the way to the state championship game where they face a powerhouse from central Texas, the Dallas Carter Cowboys. Where Dallas Carter went undefeated and won every game without breaking a sweat. Since Permian barely got into state championship Dallas Carter was heavily favored. But the panthers wont go down without a fight.

This movie has great camera views and makes you feel like your watching a real football game. After I watched the movie I really wanted to play football, it was that good. For example I would watch the part of the movie where they play Dallas Carter before every one of my football games, it made me so pumped and ready to play. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole movie just waiting to see what happens next. I would defiantly advise sports lovers or people who just like a good movie to check this one out.

I have read so many spectacular reviews of the TV series FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHT that I decided that I needed to watch the series myself. But I first wanted to see the film that the TV series was based upon.

This is a carefully crafted film about the somewhat dubious role that football is allowed to play in the lives of small town Americans. What many people seem to miss in seeing the film is the deeply critical aspects of the film. While the struggles of Permian High School to overcome the loss of their star player Boobie Miles -- who is portrayed as a 1988 high school equivalent of today's Darren McFadden of Arkansas (like McFadden, Miles is portrayed as someone who is spectacularly fast, a great receiver, and even an accomplished passer) -- take center stage, there is also a quiet but pervasive criticism of the role that football is allowed to play in people's lives in this small town. There is the sadness of several former players who have never been able to find meaning in their lives after hanging up their cleats. There is also the poignancy of people utterly obsessed with the failure or success of the local high school team, as if there was some connection between the quality of their lives and the fate of the team. From the beginning to the end of the movie there is a sense that these are people without lives, so that while on one level we celebrate the victories of the team on another we experience a deep sadness. I kept thinking of something Kierkegaard wrote while watching the movie. He distinguished between the comic and the tragic, characterizing the latter as regarding with finite interest that which ought to be of eternal interest, while identifying the comic as regarding something finite as of eternal interest. In this sense, the movie is at its heart a tragicomedy. The movie doesn't explore precisely why these people have such sad lives, but it leaves no question at the end that they do.

This is a very slick movie, which is impressive given that it was essentially a low budget film (it was made for around $30 million) with a very large cast. As a result the film has pretty much a no name cast, the only actor that most people would be familiar with being Billy Bob Thornton. But the film never reveals its low budget. From beginning to end every aspect is highly polished.

I mentioned the way that the movie criticizes our obsession with football and how this obsession is contrasted with the fundamental emptiness in the lives of the characters in the film. The two characters who most display these aspects of the film are the aforementioned Boobie Miles and former star Charles Billingsley, played by country music star Tim McGraw. The only thing that Miles has going for him at the start of the film is his athletic ability and as we hear him struggling to read a recruiting letter we realize that he is borderline illiterate. When he learns that his knee injury is far worse than anyone imagined he realizes how little life has to offer him. He is a man with rapidly collapsing horizons. Billingsley, on the other hand, has only his memories of having starred for Permian. He relentlessly drives his son to achieve a similar kind of success so that he can relive some of it vicariously.

This film in the end is not a celebration of football, but a paean on our excessive obsession with what is, in the end, only a game. It does not mean that football is devoid of all redeeming values, but it does mean to point out that there is more to life than football.

Small Town Football.......2007-03-17

"Friday Night Lights", the inspiration for the 2006-2007 TV series of the same name, is an unflinchingly look at a small, economically-depressed Texas town where the only exciting event is the Friday night high school football game. That kind of spotlight creates intense expectations for the Permian High School Football Team to succeed, causing players to make tough choices and live with the consequences.

Billy Bob Thornton does an inspiring turn as the football coach who rallies the team after a season-ending injury to a key player. His leadership and mentoring of the team causes the players to come together and make the best of their situation and of each other. The movie avoids a cliche ending but leaves the viewer with the sense that what the players accomplish together will be with them all their lives.

This film is highly recommended as an excellent capture of high school sports as preparation for the challenges of adult life.

A great movie!.......2007-02-21

I don't claim to be a movie critic, I'm just a regular guy. And I thought this movie was one of the best sports movies that I've ever seen! I would rank it right up there with Hoosiers, Rudy and Remember the Titans. It's not necessarily a feel-good movie, like the others I mentioned, but it's just a great story! The west-Texas realism is outstanding!

In this collection you find one of the cineastic highlights of the 30ties; "The Black Cat", directed by Edgar G. Ulmer; a fantastic variation of the old Edgar Allan Poe - Story; crossed with demonic memoires of the 1st World War - Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi have been in this war, one has become a victim, his love ans life destroyed, the other is a human monster, responsible for the death of thousends of soldiers and a sick collector of female beauty. The setting is a Bauhaus-building on a mountain, where the battlefield was, a kind of futuristic mausoleum. This film was made in Austria in 1934, the time of fascism, and you can smell the near danger of Nazi-Terror. John J. Mescall is a genius on camera. I think this movie is singular in the history of gothic art. The other movies are good exampels for the singular art of the Dracula-actor Bela Lugosi.

This box set of movies captures Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff at the height of their respective careers. Both are highlighted here in 5 different films that allow them to share the spotlight and explore some fairly meaty roles. Especially in the "The Black Cat" A particularly subtle yet brutal horror tale pitting Lugosi against Karloff in a twisted psychological battle of revenge, mysticism and devil worship. Very much ahead of it's time in both subject matter and brutality. The makeup, set design, mood and lighting are quite memorable.

All 5 movies though are quite enjoyable, and while tame compared to today's horror fare, they still explore some weighty subjects with an appropriate amount of abject horror and suspense.

It's fun to review some of the details of each of these movies, and pick out small little mistakes and missed edits. A particular example is seen in "The Invisible Ray" watch closely as Walter Kingsford as he plays a murdered Sir Francis Stevens. He is lying on the bed as Lugosi shines a bright light into his face to snap a couple of photos. After Lugosi turns off the bright light, Kigsford obviously blinks his eyes, even though he's supposed to already be dead. pretty funny, and the first time I watched the movie, I could hardly believe the obvious mistake.

At any rate, all 5 movies are entertaining, well written, and provided both Lugosi and Karloff with vehicles with which to display their talent.

Highly recommended for any classic horror buffs.

Universal Pictures has had a number of different movie openings over the years, but my favorite has always been one of its oldest, the one showing the airplane flying around the Universal Globe. This opening is shown on several films in the Bela Lugosi Collection, which is just another little perk in a generally decent set.

Three of the movies (all on Side One of the single disc) are loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe stories. In Murders in the Rue Morgue, Lugosi plays a demented showman at a circus. His show features an ape that is willing to kill for his master. Lugosi also has an obsession with creating some sort of ape-human hybrid, and if a few women need to die in the process, so be it. Although not the most well-written of movies, it does have a nice look to it, with that eerie German Expressionist influence that is seen in other horror films of the period. This is also the only film in the set that doesn't also include Boris Karloff.

The Black Cat has Lugosi in a more heroic role as a man out for vengeance against Karloff's villainous Satanist, who years earlier had committed a treasonous act that led to Lugosi's imprisonment. Now Lugosi and a honeymooning couple are at Karloff's estate where both characters plot against each other. In a nice contrast to the standard old dark houses, the setting for this film is a futuristic mansion.

The Raven has Lugosi returning to evil as a doctor obsessed with a woman whose life he has saved. He also is an avid Poe fan, leading him to set up some nasty traps (especially a deadly pendulum). Karloff is a fugitive who is forced to help Lugosi in his schemes. These are probably Lugosi's and Karloff's best roles in the set.

The Side Two movies put Lugosi in distinctly supporting roles. The Invisible Ray features Karloff as a scientist who is irradiated by a strange element, one that threatens to kill him, but also gives him a lethal touch and a homicidal mania. Lugosi plays a doctor again, this time one who creates a serum that offsets the effect of the radiation. The science is awful, but the movie itself is fun.

The final film, Black Friday, has Lugosi in a minor role as a gangster. Karloff plays one of his mad scientist roles, this time a brain surgeon who transplants part of a gangster's brain into his dying friend's. Here the acting laurels go to Stanley Ridge's as the man whose personality alternates between kindly literature professor and vicious gangster.

In the horror films of the `30s and '40s, Lugosi often played second fiddle to Karloff, and this set demonstrates why. Although Karloff himself is not at his best, he is definitely more skilled than Lugosi. That's not to say Lugosi is bad, but he can't steal a show the way Karloff can. As a Lugosi showcase, this is merely okay (and there aren't much in the way of extras) but the movies themselves are pretty fun. As a whole, this set gets a low four stars and should be enjoyed by fans of the classic era of Universal horror films.

Interesting variations on some Poe stories, though not extremely helpful... You get the feeling these guys were going through the motions here, reaching for material to take advantage of the sets and odd facial features they had at their disposal.

Horrible old movies you've got to love!.......2007-01-12

Anyone who loves to watch those old black and white horror movies will surely love to have this collection included in their DVD library. Not only do you get Bela doing his best to terrify you, but Karloff also comes along for the ride. At times the acting is bumpy, but, hey, that's what makes these movies so much fun to watch. So get the popcorn ready, dim the lights, and be prepared to be intertained.

As the true purpose of the plant and the planet are revealed, Crichton finds the Uncharted Territories to which they've escaped are not as uncharted as they seemed.

D'Argo takes center stage.......2004-10-02

In "Back and Back...," Crichton (Ben Browder) and company rescue a scientist and his assistant from their imploding spacecraft. In the process, Crichton begins to suffer from time flashes wherein he experiences the future, thereby becoming aware that the mysterious assistant has a deadly secret. There is a lot of good characterization here and a tantalizing hint at D'Argo's (Anthony Simcoe) past. I like the way that so many Farscape episodes turn on Crichton's disarming manner of just leveling with other characters and telling them the truth rather than contriving unlikely deceptions to resolve plot points.

"Thank God..." is another good D'Argo episode. This time he has inexplicably decided to settle down and live as a field worker on an agrarian planet. Suspecting that something is not quite right, Crichton and the others investigate, finding that the planet has an unsettling connection to an old enemy.

I love this show. As good as these episodes are, there is much better to come.

Exploring a Different Uncharted Territory.......2003-07-22

The pilot episode of Farscape lets us know these stories take place in the Uncharted Territories. But starting with the episodes featured on this disc, we see that these uncharted territories include the souls of Moya and her crew.

"Back and Back and Back to the Future" pierces the gruff exterior of D'Argo as a mysterious femme fatale named Natala ensnares the warrior's heart. Unfortunately, Crichton starts having visions of himself with Natala which become progressively more disasterous. Not only do we start to see more of D'Argo's vulnerablility, but we're also treated to a well-designed, time-travelling head trip.

"Thank God It's Friday, Again" has D'Argo on an alien world, but after just three days the gang finds he has traded his soldier's weapons for a famer's tools. Though he seems blissfully content with his new life, things start to spiral out of control with Zhaan slipping into the same blind happiness as D'Argo, an apparent attempt on Rygel's life, Crichton's abduction by a rebel force, and the slow realization that this paradise is intimately linked to one of the galaxy's greatest threats. This is one of Farscape's best episodes, not only for it's wonderful visual appeal, but also for the way it expands our understanding of the characters. A wistful D'Argo confides in Zhaan that this experience echoes some of his long-held dreams. Aeryn reaches beyond her Peacekeeper-imposed blinders as she and Pilot must work together, not in military maneuvers, but in the more cerebral world of science as she struggles to find out what has happened to Rygel. And to top it all of, we have Angie Milliken's beautifully disturbing portrayal as the planet's ruler, Volmay. (Plus the infamous "She gives me a woody" line.)

Each episode offers a commentary: The first, featuring Ben Browder and director Rowan Woods, draws attention to the directorial choices made such as camera angles and set design. The second features Anthony Simcoe and series creator Rockne O'Bannon and gives a glimpse into the Australian influences on Farscape. The character profile features Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan, which seems odd as these two episodes spend a lot of time on D'Argo, but you won't catch me complaining. The Delvian has always been a favorite of mine and it was interesting to hear Virginia Hey's take on the character she embodies. (And embodies is the word: during the interview she completely forgot she was wearing prosthetics at the time!) Zhaan's still gallery has some beautiful shots, though the posing in a few seem overly dramatic. The conceptual drawings are fascinating, though it would have been nice to have some captions. It took a while to realize that some of the aliens depicted were actually Tavleks featured in "Throne for a Loss" from the _previous_ disc.

As O'Bannon explains, each of the characters starts off as a standard sci-fi stereotype. The beauty of Farscape is that it then leaves those cliches behind, delving into these wonderfully realized characters.

D'Argo's Time To Shine.......2003-03-21

After finding himself [pulled through] through a wormhole and thrust into the depths of space that neither he nor any human before him had envisioned, Astronaut John Crichton finds himself confronted with Worlds beyond comprehension. In what seems like mere moments he finds himself aboard a living vessel named Moya with a group of escaped convicts trying desperately to outrun a race called the Peacekeepers and their leader whose brother Crichton accidentally caused to perish. In order to escape these forces, the crew of Moya are forced to head into the Uncharted Territories, knowing that they will be followed but that at least the pull of the Peacekeepers isn't a strong as it is elsewhere. Yes, space isn't what it seems.

In these two episodes from the first season, we find D'Argo, a creature from a warrior race with tendrils sprouting from both the top of his head and his chin, as our focal point.
In the first piece, "Back and Back and Back to the Future," the crew of Moya decide to rescue a couple of aliens from their ship that seems to be disintegrating. One of those on board, a female, seems to have some strange allure over both Crichton and D'Argo, putting D'Argo at odds with the human and jealous of what the other members of the crew think. Added to this is the fact that Crichton starts to have flashes of the future, and it seems that this future contains elements that don't seem to lead anywhere but demise.

To me, this episode was a worthwhile one that had some hidden portions within the plot and that played with the mind of the ever-maddening human as he tries to cope with the oddities of space. Its also interesting to see how he thinks he can change things like so many others would only to see that lead to an even worse fate over and over again, making him wonder if he's simply going mad, if things can be changed if he's not, and why he had to end up with such an unwelcome gift in the first place.

In the next episode, "Thank God Its Friday - Again," D'Argo finds himself possessed by something called Hyper Rage, making him aggressive toward any male he sees as a challenge to him, and Crichton finds himself hiding for three days until, at last, D'Argo decides to leave Moya and head for the planet Sykar. When the crew decides to go in search of him, they find him at peace within himself and the society he's found there, happy with the lifestyle of hard work and partying that this allows. Other problems soon begin to manifest as Rygel's bodily fluids become explosive for some reason and Zhaan seems to be overcome by whatever is influencing D'Argo.

This is also an episode I found rather enjoyable because a few things happen here that explain the ways that some societies fuel other ones, and the way that oppression can be elation depending on how its presented. It also places Crichton in some precarious situations when it comes to staying alive, and shows the duality of some of the crew and the bonds that begin to form between some of them; even the ex-Peacekeeper and the Pilot that once despised all their kind.

For anyone that hasn't looked into Farscape yet, I would suggest going back to the Premiere DVD, watching it, and allowing yourself be hooked by the storyline and the characters being developed therein. The dialogue is of the greatest of qualities and only gets better as the show progresses, the individuals that are chasing and the people fleeing are all interesting and the events of today create the rippling effects of tomorrow, plus there is a point to everything taking place. The creative team that developed it should be commended and recommended highly, at least in this viewer's book.

Crichton saves the day not once, but twice.......2003-01-24

I am a "Farscape" neophyte working their way through Season 1 and it seems clear to me that Volume 3 is where this science fiction series starts clicking as the characters start to emerge with some complexity and the stories fit this point in the saga. The common denominator here is that human John Crichton (Ben Browder) gets to save the day to the relief, if not the surprise, of his new crewmates.

"Back and Back and Back to the Future" is, as the title suggests, a time travel tale in which Crichton becomes unstuck in time. The fun here is decoding when Crichton has flashed forward and when he is back in the present, and, of course, his attempts to convince the others that he is telling the truth and not gone insane. This is the best episode of the series so far, not only because there it is well thought out but also because there are some key moments regarding character interaction and revelation.

"Thank God It's Friday..Again" is too reminiscent of the "Star Trek" episode where Spock gets pollinated and is happy for a while to really be a standout episode. However, there is a standout performance by a guest star as the leader of the shiny happy people. Once again, the best parts of the episode have to do with the character interaction, particularly between Aeryn (Claudia Black) and Rygel (Jonathan Hardy) as well as Zhaan (Virginia Hey) and D'Argo (Anthony Simcoe).

One of the things that is most commendable about "Farscape" is that these DVDs are extremely fan friendly. All of the episodes (so far) offer commentary tracks by a rotating pair of cast and crewmembers. This time around it is actor Browder and director Rowan Woods on "Back and Back and Back to the Future" and actor Simcoe and series creator Rockne S. O'Bannon on "Thank God It's Friday...Again." Having the tag team commentary works well and the talk is usually about the series and the characters overall as well as the individual characters.

There is also a video profile of a "Farscape" character on each disc and this time around it is the turn of Virginia Hey and Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan, the most fascinating alien of the current media generation. Then there is the fact that there is deleted footage that was not broadcast in North America, which is meaningless to me because I do not know what it was I did not see the first time around when I did not see it in the first place.

Two Good Episodes.......2002-08-14

"Back and Back and Back to the Future" is an episode where Crichton is able to experience the future, then return back to the present when things go wrong (like he gets killed). As he corrects certain things, he is able to move forward in the present. The story of this episode has been seen before, but it is enjoyable all the same.

The second episode here is "Thank God It's Friday, Again". This episode takes place on a planet where every day is a work day, every night is a huge party with the promise that tomorrow is a rest day. However, when tomorrow becomes today, the cycle is repeated. The people are slaves to a plant which they cultivate. The plant works like a narcotic on most of the people. Some are able to resist and others with the help of a worm implanted in them can resist as well. Crichton is given such a worm and soon learns the secret of the plant and this planet. The plant is used by the Peacekeepers as it fuels their energy weapons and the planet is a giant storage facility for them.

Bought this at Blockbuster for $6.99.......2004-11-06

I saw this on the Blockbuster sale table of previewed videos and though, "hmmm... sword flick". I read the back and it sounded interesting so I bought it. As others have said, Gary doesn't even use a sword in this movie. I kept waiting for him to whip one out, but he never did. The movie itself is pretty good for low budget. The music is a mixed bag. Some of it is good, but for the most part it's annoying. I do like the fact they used an alternative band instead of the typical rap music crap. The fight scenes are realistic in that there are no fancy super power moves, just good ole fashioned martial arts against martial arts. And that's a good thing. The gushing sounds you hear when people get stuck in the heart with a knife could've been left out. Some scenes just seemed like they were filmed in the same location, or locations that didn't require anything but a camera and the side of a building. I could've sworn Gary's law office and the CCO office looked like exactly the same place from the inside. You have to expect that kinda thing with low budget films. The rental of the huge house was probably most of the budget. That being said, it was mediocre as an action movie and there were times when the acting seemed strained. It's decent if you like low budget action movies, but it's subpar except for the three fight scenes in the movie.

WHERE'S THE SWORD?.......2004-02-20

Shame on movie distributors that put your action hero on the front and misrepresent the movie! Gary Daniels never even touches a sword in this one! Shame, shame!
Aside from that, here's some thoughts about BLACK FRIDAY:
*Director Darren Doane has a nifty camera eye, with his use of pastel abstract colors and some unusual filming of the film's two long fight scenes.
*Why does Dean Campbell give up his family to help out in this caper?
*Gary Daniels has a commanding stage presence, able to blend his fierce martial arts persona and that of your average Joe. He is to be commended for trying to be an "actor" instead of a "martial arts" star, but he should remember---he is still a martial arts star and he should put a little more action in his movies. The long fifteen minute sequence between him and his friend, Matt, is filmed at such a strange angle it diminishes the performances.
*This is not a great movie, but enjoyable in a cinematic way.

Black Friday is an awesome actioner! I just totally dig the cool music and the rad camera angles! The color content was toned perfectly and the fight scenes were flawless! Martial Arts and pure action fans, Own Black Friday Now!

A movie for Gary Daniels`s fans!.......2002-02-17

This is a action thriller about a man`s family that is held hostage by masked terrorists and plans to get revenge! This is a low budget movie that has it`s ups and downs but it is entertaining if you can get by the bad music that is stuck on one beat,horrible dialogue,bad effects,bad color,way off camra work,and a conversation that goes nowhere for about fifteen minutes. We looked at the box and saw Gary Daniels was holding a katana sword and We found out that he didn`t even have a sword at all in the movie so don`t plan on seeing Gary use a sword on anybody. Now for the good stuff about Black Friday. It has a few fight scenes that last a long time and there is
some good shooting scenes aswell. These scenes however are tilted and discolored by the camra so it`ll seem different. Black Friday is a movie that doesn`t have the greatest production and fight/shooting sequences so its not no Steven Seagal movie but if you are a fan of Gary Daniels this is a must see and a must buy or even if you are a movie lover that loves martial arts and shooting this is something to check out!
