This DVD has three tales to tell. Having been an adult in the 70's, I
believe they were made for TV movies. All three were passable. Each had
a favored actor of mine, which helped. The stories were interesting, a
mite predictable, but interesting. They are definitely "period pieces".

This DVD was a great value, giving you 3 different movies on 1 disc. Video quality could have been alot better.

wow,they really had to scrape the bottom to find these turkeys! the transfers are ok and if you like detective movies(you really have to love them ) you might like this,for the rest of you save time and money and skip it!

The price wasn't very high and you get what you pay for, so we weren't that terribly disappointed that the dvd itself is pretty worn out. There wasn't much they could do with it, I guess, coming from made-for-tv movies of the 70s. But the actors and stories were first rate and we enjoyed them. Frankly we're running out of items to view because we don't appreciate Hollywood's post-1970s tendencies with the sex, unbelievable language and nudity.
Won't spoil any of the three stories with details.

I am refering to Hangmen - apparently Sandra Bullock's screen debut. My jaw dropped and soon I was rolling on the carpet in spasms. So much silly dialogue and unexplained action are the very essence of a good bad movie. The directing and the photography are acually quite good and show New York at its grittiest. Sandra Bullock gets shot with a kind of a tranquilizer bullet - you know, the ones they use on enraged rhinos in wildlife parks. No, really, I can honestly recommend that one. The rest: forgettable (The Inside Man), truly annoying (The Sell Out).

1 good movie & 2 fair ones.......2004-02-07

The Sell Out is the best of these 3. Good acting by Richard Widmark. For the other two movies, Inside man would be second best and kept my interest well enough. Hangmen though is a different story. Too much gunplay & people getting killed. I only sat through it for the Sandra Bullock parts since this was her very first movie. She was good & the rest of the picture was so so.

The killing seems to be tied to the Scowlers, a secret society of coal miners. Bulldog Drummond in Bulldog Drummong Escapes starring Ray Milland (1937, run time 67 minutes)
This edge-of-your seat action movie is filled with plenty of mystery and espionage. Ray Milland, as Bulldog Drummond, comes to the aid of pretty heiress, Phyllis Clavering (Heather Angel), who is being held against her will by villains. Yes, i will admit that the overall quality of these disks is not as fantastic as what is common today, however, for those of us who can look past that and just enjoy old, generally unheard of films, this is a good buy. I will also admit that the final movie involving Mr. Moto is terrible, but I like the mysteries of Sherlock Holmes, Ellery Queen and Bulldog Drummond (played by Ray Milland).

THIS IS ANOTHER OF THE AMC DVD RELEASES,AND FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY KEEP PUTTING OUT SUCH BAD PRINTS ON DVD. THESE DISC ARE SO BAD(SOUND DROPS,FADE OUTS OF THE PICTURE,AND IN SOME CASES IT LOOKS LIKE A VHS TAPE THAT NEEDS TRACKING DONE ON IT! THE PITS,SKIP IT!!!!!!!!!
