Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, rejected five times by the USC film school, won the best director award at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival for this alarmingly personal investigation into the health hazards wreaked by our fast food nation. Under extensive medical supervision, Spurlock subjects himself to a steady diet of McDonald's cuisine for 30 days just to see what happens. In less than a week, his ordinarily fit body and equilibrium undergo dark and ugly changes: Spurlock grows fat, his cholesterol rockets north, his organs take a beating, and he becomes subject to headaches, mood swings, symptoms of addiction, and lessened sexual energy. The gimmick is too obvious to sustain a feature documentary; Spurlock actually spends most of the film probing insidious ways that fast food companies worm their way into school lunchrooms and the hearts of young children who spend hours in McDonald's playrooms. French fries never looked more nauseating. --Tom Keogh

5 out of 5 stars A real eye-opener.......2007-06-27

I teach lifestyle changes for a weight loss clinic in my community and have used excerpts from Morgan Spurlock's "Supersize Me" as an attention getter when we talk about eating out. It's a real eye-opener for many of our clients AND some of our staff.

3 out of 5 stars Good Message, Bad Methodology.......2007-06-27

The message that obesity in America is reaching epidemic proportions is good, but blaming the fast food industry for the entire problem is a false premise. Has fast food added to the problem? Certainly, but there are other factors at work too.

The film does not provide any answers, other than to ban fast food, nor does it look at some very basic questions. Why has fast food grown to the point it has in America? Is it because we don't get to spend as much time at home? Is it because so many families are now 2 income earners? Had he spent time on these questions, in addition to the question of fast food, we might get some solutions.

Finally, he could have made his argument in a less dramatic way. Hurling out a window after stuffing yourself with a huge meal is not the way most Americans eat and it was most likely done strictly for theatrical reasons.

To sum up, the message is good, but the way it was delivered left a lot to be desired

5 out of 5 stars No more fast-food!.......2007-06-05

This is a real eye opening film into the unhealthy world of fast-food! Everyone should see it!!

1 out of 5 stars Super Size Me Movie.......2007-05-27

I was very disappointed in this movie. It was listed as a PG movie. My son was getting it for a class project. When we got it in the mail it was a PG-13. We watched it and I couldn't believe the bad language. It also talked about sex and drugs. I couldn't believe they put it on the internet as a PG. Even as PG-13 it was very dissappointing.

3 out of 5 stars Sweet land of liberty!!!.......2007-05-17

I get it; as a matter of fact, we all get it, you're not supposed to eat fast food all the time. And I really don't think anyone can! Personally I loved this movie, but I don't think it had a realistic premise. We all know fast food is a bad diet choice. Unfortunately; the hectic schedule faced by most working Americans these days has elevated the viability of fast food. Another alarming problem is the rate at which Mr. Spurlock's body started to deteriorate; his doctor was visibly shaken and that's scary. And although this may not be a scientific analysis, there seems to be a direct correlation between busy lives, fast food and obesity in America. In the end 'Super Size Me is fun to watch. But if you read Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser and/or watch Super Size Me, or both, you may never eat a happy meal again. You've been warned!

Description

The ultimate film about wine and wine culture, Mondovino offers an unprecedented look into the conflicts, conspiracies and alliances of the wine trade. Filmed by award-winning director Jonathan Nossiter, Mondovino has sparked controversy in its theatrical run among wine producers, distributors and consumers as it shed light on the esoteric world of wine. Hailed as "Fahrenheit 9/11 for the grape" by MSNBC.

An epic exploration into the modern world of wine, Mondovino was filmed across three continents, in five languages, over a three-year period. With an insider's access and an artist's eye, Nossiter weaves together multiple family and multi-generational sagas, all stemming from the production, distribution and consumption of one of the oldest, most respected and still-affordable luxuries. Juxtaposing artesian wine growers with multi-national conglomerates, and peasants with billionaires, the film gives voice to those who create, critique and are involved in the commerce of wine, offering up a surprisingly prismatic, varied and sometimes controversial glimpse into something everyone enjoys but few people know much about.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars interesting.......2007-05-28

I've noticed that the reviews seem to be good or bad, depending on if the reviewer agrees or disagrees with the filmmaker's perspective. I'm fairly new to the wine hobby, so the subject matter was also pretty new to me. It was certainly interesting to see perspectives from a variety of people in the industry. It is also interesting to see the behind-the-scenes politics of wine. The filmmaker has an opinion, but I don't think it was overly stressed as all subjects spoke for themselves; i.e., he edited the film, but didn't put words into anyone's mouth.
As some have mentioned, the camera work is terrible, but the film is much more about what's being said than about what's being filmed. Happily, the subtitles are stationary, so the shoddy filming didn't bother me much. I'd recommend it for someone who, like myself, has a passion (or developing passion) for wine. For someone not particularly interested in wine, it's probably not worth watching.

5 out of 5 stars Great film, but you better know your wines.......2007-03-20

For people who truly love life and love wine, this film is a masterpiece. However, I would only suggest it to people who have some knowledge about wine and the wine trade. Personally, I've worked in the industry for a few years now, so I was already familiar with the big names in the movie (Mondavi, Parker, Broadbent, Rolland, etc.) If I knew absolutely nothing about wine, I probably would have been bored to tears for much of the two and a half hours. Which is a shame, because there are some incredibly interesting ideas and people scattered throughout this film. Even the villains of the movie (whom they are depends on your perspective) have intriguing personalities.

The crux of the movie is this: you have an ongoing battle in the wine industry between climate wines and terrior wines; industrial wines and agricultural wines; huge corporations and small producers. The fact of the matter is that more and more people, like Rolland and Mondavi, view wine simply as a tradable commodity that they can make a profit off of. They find out what will get high scores from people like Parker and publications like Wine Spectator, and they then tailor their wines in such a way that they will get a high score. The high score will lead the sheep to their wine, and profits are made by all. Everybody wins! Well, everyone except the consumers who end up with bland, innocuous tasting wines that easily could have been made anywhere by anyone. But hey, who cares about them, as long as they keep giving us their money.

Others, such as Broadbent and the filmmakers, see wine as something greater than that. They, like myself, believe that wine should not become just another branded product, like everything else has these days. It shouldn't be about what score a wine got, but what it actually tastes like (what a novel concept.) It makes me think of a particular wine we carried in the store that I work at. For months it just sat on the shelf, collecting dust. Nobody even bothered to ask about it, let alone buy it. Then Wine Spectator gave it a 93 or something. Within a week, we had sold all of those dusty bottles. Just lead the sheep to the wine, and profits will be made.

This movies shows a small slice of the battle that is being fought everyday, both here and abroad. It is not simply about wine; it is about life and what makes it truly worth living. Is it about experiences and expanding your consciousness? Or is it about your net worth and expanding your business portfolio? Contrary to what some of these reviewers say, this movie does not decry everything that is big. It decries everything that is false. Globalized Western Capitalism has changed the game. It no longer matters if you have a quality product; what you need is a fancy logo, a catchy name, an unlimited marketing budget, some industry connections, and an ocean of naive consumers ready to believe anything that you tell them. I suppose it was only a matter of time before this type of brand oriented thinking poisoned the wine industry.

1 out of 5 stars Propaganda: misleading cuts, smears, ad hominem attacks.......2007-03-11

This is the ultimate hatchet job, infused with politics and anti-globalization rants, and oversimplifying complex issues. The camera work often looks like it was done by a 12-year-old. But substantively, the level of professionalism is far worse. The film seems deliberately cut to make melodramatic points and take peoples' words out of context. Anyone little becomes a hero, including folks like H. De Montille, who said he was "content" after 9-11. Then we get what can only be considered smear tactics-- things like the digression to examine the Frescobaldi fascist past. Evidently, this proves their winemaking must be bad. Your mind should turn off now. Similar investigation into de Montille's past? Uh, no. Parker gets to talk a lot about farting dogs, but he can't respond to Broadbent's unintentionally hilarious rant. If you're big, you're bad. Period. This incredibly stupid, simplistic and ultra-leftist view of wine is one of the great hatchet jobs of all time, not to mention overlong, incompetently produced and utterly tedious. A film that makes a crank like de Montille into a hero and Robert Mondavi, who risked every nickel his family had to transform California, into a corporate villain, loses its footing with its initial, childish premise. This film is on a 4th grade level--except that is insulting to 4th graders.

5 out of 5 stars How did they ever let those filmmakers in?.......2007-02-11

What a heavenly film about the wine world. Documentarions travelled to France, Italy and California interviewing some of the greatest winemakers and, in other cases, some of the most powerful wine merchants in the world, including the consultants andRobert Parker,s still the most important wine critic. If you think the wine world is absent the kind of treachery or price manipulation that you associate with Exxon, you are much mistaken. This film is beautiful and fascinating to watch. Extraordinary people like Piero Antinori are everything you imagined but to see him and hear him is to gain a sense of Italy, of Tuscany, of a world far removed from ours-- just marvelous.

Stupid, pointless and useless. Hand held camera about made me seasick. Learned nothing except that Parker had lost a lot of weight, apparently.

Arguably the best American documentary of the 1960s, Salesman was the pivotal film of the "direct cinema" movement championed by such influential filmmakers as Richard Leacock, D.A. Pennebaker, and (in this case) the Maysles brothers and their longtime collaborator Charlotte Zwerin. It catapulted Albert and David Maysles to international fame (later intensified with Gimme Shelter), and it remains the most powerful document of working-class America in the post-Kennedy era. As compelling as any fictional drama, the film follows four salesmen (nicknamed the Badger, the Gipper, the Rabbit, and the Bull, based on their particular on-the-job attributes) from Boston to Florida as they struggle to sell lavishly illustrated Bibles to reluctant, blue-collar customers as desperate to keep their money as the salesmen are to take it.

The film focuses on the anguished plight of Paul "the Badger" Brennan, an aging Boston-Irish veteran of the salesman circuit, weary of his job and unable to hide his exhaustion from customers and colleagues alike. "I don't want to seem negative," he says in one of the film's many dreary motel rooms, but Paul is negative, and meager sales reflect his attitude. The resulting portrait serves as a two-way mirror of hard-scrabble American survival, simultaneously humorous and heartbreaking, and so honestly revealing that no performance (with the possible exception of Jack Lemmon's in Glengarry Glen Ross) could ever hope to match its level of richly nuanced humanity. Door-to-door salesmen became dinosaurs with the advent of telemarketing and Internet retail, but Salesman is a timeless masterpiece of cinematic truth. --Jeff Shannon

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A timeless film about the dual enemies of aging and failure.......2006-12-16

This film is about the trials and tribulations of four door-to-door Bible salesmen in 1968, on the eve of when their occupation was about to become extinct. Of course, the filmmakers could not know that at the time, but this fact is what adds to the sadness of this film today. The salesmen are four New Englanders named Paul "The Badger" Brennan, James "The Rabbit" Baker, "The Bull" and "The Gipper", their nicknames being derived from their individual sales tactics. Despite the holiness of their products, this really is a cutthroat business, as is made evident in some of the sales meetings that are shown. The main character, "The Badger", reminds me of Jack Lemmon's character in Glengarry Glen Ross. Life - and his profession - have beaten him down, and none of his sales pitches are working as he talks to one indifferent potential customer after another. These guys are always looking for a new angle to make the sale, but usually just about everything they come up with is not successful. Remember, this was in the days when people were unafraid to open their doors to strangers, and equally unafraid to be rude to them. The film not only makes you feel what these unsuccessful salesmen are feeling, it a time capsule for the end of the '60s, and a portrait of an occupation that doesn't really exist anymore due to telemarketing, Internet sales, two-income families meaning nobody is home during the day, and finally the fact that adult strangers on your doorstep are assumed to be potential criminals.

Paul Brennan really seems to have the saddest story of the four. His sales are dwindling, and he is really too old to start over in another occupation. Paul's sales become so poor that at one point that he is partnered with a more aggressive salesman so Paul can observe his technique in the hope that something will rub off on Paul. This younger, sharper salesman, who obviously has not yet developed a tolerance for human frailty, is constantly snapping at Paul for his poor technique and unenthusiastic delivery. If you're an older person who has ever worked for a younger one, you know what I'm talking about. As sorry as you may feel for him though, when we see Paul using the possibly superstitious beliefs of his customers to get them to buy products they may not be able to afford, you have mixed feelings about the man. Is Paul purely being manipulative, or is he resorting to desperate means to survive? Probably a little bit of both is true. Paul realizes that his time as a salesman is coming to a close, and it's not like he has a big bank account to fall back on. Such career struggles are expected when you are in your 20's, but by the time you are Paul's age you are expecting something more...more job stability, more respect, more financial security.

The film does add some humor throughout the film to keep the viewing experience from being too much like a funeral for both Paul's career and the profession of door-to-door salesman itself. Sometimes the salesmen lighten up and even have some comradery in their conversations. Sometimes there is a funny remark from the "no sale" Boston housewives the salesmen encounter, and sometimes there are even funnier remarks from the salesmen as they leave a house where they've been refused. There's also an episode in a hotel pool in the middle of the night that is rather humorous.

I'd say that even though the film has a very dated look to it, you should watch it because what it has to say about the human spirit, aging ungracefully, choosing the wrong career, and then failing at that career is timeless.

5 out of 5 stars Couldn't have been any better.......2006-04-28

I saw this movie a few years ago and need to rent it again soon because I have nothing but fond memories of it. Anyone who has ever had any dealings at all with a salesman will love it - I promise. Watch as one salesman asks a woman who can't afford a bible for $50 if she could afford $2.50 a week for twenty weeks. Watch as he asks her if she thinks her home would be better if she had this bible in her house. These are the same kind of questions you are asked when looking for a car but the way it is shot in the "you are almost there" style makes many of the scenes heartbreakingly real. There is sadness all around in the faces of the salesman and there potential customers. One cannot help but feel moved by the plight of the salesman and the customers. It is amazing how the sales pitches of the salesman have not changed much in the past 40 years! Anyone who likes Errol Morris or John Cassavettes needs to see this film as soon as possible if not sooner.

5 out of 5 stars Handing Tickets Out For God.......2006-01-05

The price on this is a bit steep, especially since the bonus materials are limited (though enjoyable). Nonetheless, I didn't regret spending the money. The Maysles brothers were such amazing and groundbreaking documentarians that anything of theirs that you can get your hands on is worth it. This film follows four very ordinary bible salesmen in the late 1960's as they ply their trade in the cold and snow of New England and then in the sunshine of Florida. The Maysles' focus in particular on one gentleman who clearly is not cut out for this work and is slowly but surely headed for the scrap pile. Despite the relative mundanity of the events, you find yourself transfixed as these men endure the high-powered mindwashing of their superiors and struggle to survive in a dying industry. Few films have ever so poignantly made the point that, though God may be good box office, no one really seems to give a damn about who buys or sells the tickets to the show.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Documentary that has and will ever be made.......2005-09-28

Bible salesman will never be cooler, this shows a side of bible salesman that will never be shown again, it could be because they are no longer the same, or it could be that if anyone tried to re-capture what has already been, it would be called just another film, this is not just another film, this is a film with more power and humor than any REAL story will ever capture, SEE THIS FILM, SEE THIS FILM. I LOVE IT.

5 out of 5 stars Salesman.......2005-08-23

This innovative, powerful film shines sobering light on the modern human condition. We witness a man who sees his way of life receding before his very eyes, leaving him with precious little to show for it. The sad, wrenching tale still delivers potent, thought-provoking impact.

Slasher is a semi-comic and revealing documentary about the crude art of selling used cars in a hurry. Filmmaker John Landis, best known for some key 1970s and '80s comedies (Animal House, Trading Places), directs this warts-and-all look at the life and trade of Michael "the Slasher" Bennett, a California freelance salesman who travels the country mounting garish campaigns to clear car lots of old inventory. The film focuses on one weekend in which Bennett and his team of "mercenaries" descend on a lot in Memphis, attempting to unload 60 automobiles in 48 hours. Motormouth Bennett and his allies pull out all the stops (raffles, pretty hostesses, music) and keep intense pressure on themselves, revealing a few unscrupulous practices in the course of things. Landis finds moments of unintended and sometimes tender comedy everywhere, especially in Bennett's strenuous efforts to live up to the moral standards of his wife and children. --Tom Keogh

Description

"My job as a slasher, being a used car salesperson, liquidator, doing these auction sales...people automatically assume whatever I say, whatever comes out of my mouth is a lie" Meet Michael Bennett, better known as "The Slasher," a raspy-voiced family man who exudes so much nervous energy that he smokes two cigarettes at a time and can hardly stand still. When auto dealerships are desperate to dump their stale inventory as quickly as possible, the California-based Bennett is flown all over the country to slash prices and clear entire lots within a few short days. Director John Landis (The Blues Brothers, Animal House, An American Werewolf in London) brilliantly turns his comedic eye on one particularly off-the-wall weekend in the life of Bennett, as he's called upon to help a struggling dealership in Memphis, home to Elvis Presely and the bankruptcy capital of the world. Featuring a pitc-perfect Southern soul soundtrack, including forgotten favorites from Sam & Dave, Booker T. and the MG's, and Otis Redding, SLASHER is a frenetic, fascinating and intensely funny look at one man so tightly wound, he couldn't be anything other than a car salesman. DVD Features: Commentary from Director John Landis and Crew; Deleted Scenes; IFC 'Making of' Featurette; Crew Biographies; Interactive Menus; Scene Selection

4 out of 5 stars Dealer.......2007-05-29

As a car dealer in today's market it was a very scary movie. I have a dealership near an airport and the dealership in the movie reminded me a little of ours. It was so depressing to see the "slasher", a human being live his life this way and in my business I see a lot of individuals like this. Even more depressing the owner of the dealership like so many trying to make ends meet hiring an individual who will do anything to sell a car. As always the less fortunate such as lower income and bad credit customers are the target for these vultures. All in all the movie is actual and truthful of what the director was depicting.

3 out of 5 stars portrait of a tortured soul.......2007-01-27

I wasn't sure what to rate this film because I have mixed feelings about it. On one level it's a fast-paced look at how a used car salesman makes a living cheating poor black people (among others) out of their money. On the other hand, the Slasher is a deeply disturbed father never home for his wife and kids. I found myself getting angry that nobody cared enough for the star of this film to confront him about what he did to himself; in fact, in the featurette you can see the filmmaker trying to make him stand up straight for the camera while dead drunk. I kept wondering how his daughters felt about growing up with an alcoholic father with a beer in his hand every morning. I would very much have liked to see this film end with a scene in which the Slasher's so-called friends and the director gather around him and say, "We're taking up a collection to get you into rehab before you drink yourself to death. If you don't care about yourself any more than you do about the people you fleece, at least think about what you are doing to your family."

When you go car shopping, you automatically know it is going to be a very long process. As a society that takes our cars as a status symbol, we should also be aware of the tactics that are used to get us to buy a car beyond our means. Additionally, I came to realize that Michael Bennet must have ADHD. He could not stop talking or moving. Also, people with ADHD usually self-medicate. He drinks pretty non-stop and is a chain smoker. I have boys who have been diagnosed with ADHD, and this movie gave me a glimpse into an adult with this disorder! There really should be a follow-up documentary on Michael Bennet/

5 out of 5 stars I write car ads for people like this!.......2006-02-03

Of course, not all of the clients at my agency are this wacked out. And actually, this is the first time I've seen an $88 car...we usually run $88 down, $88 a month for our clients or they have cars as low as $995 on the lot. What I love about Slasher is that it shows that it takes all kinds. I had a hard time not laughing at some of the customers that showed up on the lot. Folks, I write these ads for a living. I can tell you that if someone's advertising cars for as low as $88, that means that there is just one on the lot and I can tell you that 99% of us would not be caught dead in that car.

Ah, but the 1% that would...! Anyone will get a kick out of these customers coming in for that $88 car. I'm sure all our clients would split their sides laughing at this, and perhaps crying too. I know it's hard to move these units. I'm responsible for developing new creative to help guys like you sell more of them. Sales like this will surely bring them in with the Slasher. We run advertorials quite frequently for clients who have used the Slasher before and others with imitations which we must call a different name in order for our clients not to run into legal problems with it.

I don't think that only automotive industry people should see this. I happened to stumble upon it while reading about other documentaries. This one was recommended to me and I laughed. I had to find it. One of my assistants saw it was coming on IFC and taped it for our team to see if we could gain new perspective. For me, I gained the perspective that not all my clients are crooks, and that these guys are working really hard to be able to feed their families too. I could feel their pain. It's hard work being in sales.

I think anyone in the market for a vehicle, new or used, should check this out. People can only take advantage of you if you let them, and not all car salesman or dealerships are bad. I say shame on the car buyers for not doing their homework beforehand. And if your credit is bad, don't expect to get a low payment on your new car. Either prepare to pay a large down payment or make large monthly payments. Or consider a used vehicle for crying out loud! Half the customers that showed up for the sale in this documentary looked like they couldn't even afford a new pair of shoelaces! Research the cars you're interested in...the internet makes this astonishinly easy. Figure out what you can afford. Determine your credit standing. And live within your means.

And a special note to the Slasher himself, if you ever read this, boy do you have a tough job. But not once did we see you say anything rude to any of those customers and I applaud you for that. I would've lost my mind dealing with people like that. You had such a high energy level the entire time, all the while you were probably thinking of your family to survive those 3 sale days. It's also nice to put a face with a name. I just imagined some poor shmoe from the sales department being forced to walk around in some sort of mascot suit in the hot, hot sun. I guess it doesn't help being in a tux though does it?

In conclusion, this being by far the longest review I've written, I really do think that most people would be able to take something very valuable away by watching this documentary. To the salespeople on the lots: watch this now! Get it and have your entire dealership watch it together. It will give you a new perspective on your business which is never a bad thing. To the car buyers everywhere: you only get taken advantage of because you don't research what you're buying. This isn't a $10 t-shirt at the mall. This is a large purchase. You wouldn't just buy a new TV without checking if it has the S video input and all that other junk (reminds me...I need a new TV). You compare the brands and see who has the best quality with the features you want at a price that is most reasonable to you. That's what you should be doing when you buy a car. If you go into a dealership knowing as much as you can about the vehicle you wish to purchase particularly regarding prices and vehicle features, you will be better able to negotiate a deal that makes you and the dealership happy without, pardon the expression, taking it up the a**. I highly, highly, highly recommend this documentary.

    3 out of 5 stars Da McDonald's Dude.......2007-02-19

I love learning about things that we take as a given. This work talks about how Ray Kroc invented fast food and made McDonald's the staple that it is. Surprisingly, he's not the inventor, but the guy who bought it. As a Chicagoan who takes pride in McDonald's headquarters being in the area, I was surprised to learn that yet another American institution had its roots in California.

Surprisingly, the documentary interviews pop culture writers, rather than businesspersons. It's easy for me to think of music, fashion, and film as constituting pop culture, but this work expands that area to food and restaurants. The interviewees are diverse, at least gender-wise. One interviewee wears turquoise and Native American jewelry; I wonder if she were trying to signify that she is a member of the Navajo Nation.

This work says the love of Ray's life was Joan. It basically applauds when they get married. However, they say nothing for the divorced spouses of the two and they skip over those people's pain. In the same way that I sympathized for the wives in "Brokeback Mountain" even as I cheered on the love between the men, my heart goes out to those two. I feel the same way about the Spanish wife that Antonio Banderas left for Melanie Griffith. I'm not sure why this work skirted over a move that could be read as heartless and inconsiderate. I hope Ray Kroc hooked the two dumped people up financially.

The documentary stressed that Kroc liked to look like a million bucks as a salesman. I then don't understand why he didn't get braces to correct his diastema that is as big as Condie Rice's or Governor Ahnuld's.

The Biography series covers several millionaires and billionaires. You might as well see this one if you are interested in guys with big bucks and how they became successful.

        Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Making Cornflakes and Avoiding the Bedroom.......2006-04-28

I don't think most people ask themselves, "I wonder how corn flakes were invented?" It was hard to get excited about the documentary. I mean, the Kellogg brothers were not Marilyn Monroe, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., or Pocahontas. Still, this may be good for history fanatics and fans of camp.
This documentary did not avoid Dr. Kellogg's anti-sex campaigns. They mention his hatred of mastering the domain and advocacy of enemas, though they never mention the term klismatophilia.
This documentary is lopsided, focusing on one brother far more than the other. Like many Biography episodes, this one interviews a biographer and several living relatives of the subject. I usually think documentaries that have actors dressed in period pieces recreating things are cheesy. This documentary avoids that tactic, but it did move more slowly because of it. Seeing one still photo after the next got boring.
Many brilliant people make useful statements and stupid statements. Sigmund Freud and Margaret Mead are other examples. If you avoid throwing the baby out with the bath water, Dr. Kellogg was quite an interesting person and this documentary becomes worthwhile.
