Description

Nosferatu - This ground-breaking film is F.M. Murnau's unauthorized production of Bram Stoker's Dracula, with enough changes to make it legal in its day. Count Orlok's (Max Schreck) move to Bremen brings a plague traceable to his dealings with the realtor Thomas Hutter (Gustav von Wangenheim). The Count's obsession with Hutter's wife, Ellen, may be the only way to end the evil of Count Orlock's vampire plague.

Dead Men Walk - When Doctor Lloyd Clayton's (George Zucco) twin brother Elwyn dies, Elwyn's hunchbacked assistant Zolarr (Dwight Frye) accuses Lloyd of murder. The good doctor claims self-defense. Neither Zolarr nor Elwyn (also George Zucco) feel this way, and when the diabolical magician returns from the grave as a vampire he and Zolarr plot vengeance. The two begin to kill all of Lloyd's associates...pinning the murders on him.

Chain of Souls - Karla (Stephanie Kane) decides to risk everything to get out of her small Texas town and heads to Hollywood for a shot at fame and fortune. She pursues an interview for a supposedly hot new director...a director who leads a secret life as a psychic vampire. When she doesn't hear from Karla, her older sister Angela comes to Hollywood to look for her. Hooking up with Joan, the two soon discover a dark underworld of cultists bent on human sacrifice.

Good Budget Buy???.......2006-10-18

The First Movie Nosferatu is considered a classic German silent movie. However,this Americanized version changes the original title cards to the names used in Dracula. (Which this movie was based on.) This I could deal with for the price. The bigger problem is the writing runs right off the screen at times so you have to guess at what is being said.
The next movie is in black & white. It is a low budget vampire movie from the forties. The movie centers around a doctor and his evil twin brother. The story was fairly entertaining and looked fine to me. I found this to be the best of the three movies.
The final movie Chain of Souls is newer and is in color. The basic concept is Kyla goes to Hollywood looking to become an Actress. At an audition she discovers something sinister. Although that sounds like it could be good, it's really not. I was bored by this movie.
So is this a good budget buy? As is, probably not. If they fixed the title cards to Nosferatu it would be.

This a very surprising and very good movie, I highly recommend this DVD Movie to all interested.
