Funny as hell.......2007-06-22
The movie is a homage to Friday the 13th and it actully works. The guy in the first movie looks like #6 from Slipknot. The movie seemed real, espeically the death scenes. The humour is not from lines in the movie, just the way the clown fights. The movies are a little over an hour but all are worth viewing. 3 movies on 1 dvd? Diffently worth the used price.
Horrible movies = horribly funny.......2006-09-04
The Camp Blood films are hands down the worst movies i have ever seen in my entire life. They are pathetically acted, badly directed messes, but are very entertaining if you're into that sort of thing.
Camp Blood (1999) tells the tale of two couples and their guide that go into the woods for a weekend of camping and hiking, but are set upon by a person wearing a clown mask that has apparently been haunting the woods for several years now. It was shot on video rather than film on a budget that appears to be of upwards of $200-$300.
Camp Blood 2 (2000) It's been a year since Trish survived the massacre and she's now in an insane asylum. One day a sleazy director comes to her saying that he's making a movie about her story and he wants her to be the creative consultant. She agrees and they head off to the woods to shoot the film, only to find out that last year's events are repeating themselves. This film was also shot on video. The only distinction between Camp Blood 1&2 is that in part 2 the actors are even worse.
Camp Blood 3: Within The Woods (2005) Some rich TV producer decides to shoot a reality show in the same spot that the infamous murders took place several years ago. The contestants show up and so does the killer clown. This time they shot on film, so it looks a little better than the previous two, but it's arguably even worse. The acting and dialogue is horrible and there are loads of continuity issues. Oh, and there's some insanely ugly woman taking her clothes off too.
They're all really awful, the first one being the best of the three. The gore is pretty decent, proving anyone can do convincing looking make-up FX as long as they study the early work of Tom Savini long enough. These movies are best enjoyed with a bowl of popcorn and a bunch of your friends ready to rip them apart.
Also recommended for anyone who enjoys the Camp Blood Trilogy: The Dead Next Door, Redneck Zombies, & Beware! Children At Play.
Clowns in the B horror genre? Say it isn't so!.......2006-08-30
This is one of those superbee campy slasher films. You can see the dollar signs go up though on the budget in subsequent films. The third one has at least one attractive person in it that looks like they may be a real actor. The 3rd would appeal to most audiences, but you have to be a true fan to really enjoy the first two. My suggestion is to get some friends together, fill up the ice cooler with some adult beverages and NEVER shush anyone that comments during these movies, their comments are the best part!

Great guilty pleasure movie.......2006-10-01
I'm not big into guilty pleasure movies. In fact of the 300 or so movies I own I think I have 3. Make it 4 now. After the first 20 minutes I was ready to turn the movie off. But I decided to watch on. And boy am I glad I did. It grew on me. It's so unique. It never takes itself too seriously while at the same time not taking itself lightly either. Great mix of horror/humor, and a fun movie I can see myself watching over and over. It ranks right up in my guilty pleasure department with Killer Klowns from Outer Space. All the characters are enjoyable and they all fit very well into the plot. It's just a fun watch. You get creepy, funny, serious, complex, simple all rolled into one. One of the few B movies that is enjoyable and gets better with each view. How can you fit 3 killer dolls, a shrunken head billionaire, a butler who wears clown make-up 24/7, a midget guard, a girl rock band electrocuted into playing songs of choice, a dominatrix female with superior intelligence and Type-A ambition, and a guy getting drilled in the heart with a drill bit all in one movie? Answer: Blood Dolls. Sometimes the stars just align perfectly. Thanks for the ride.
Outrageous; Beyond the common Limits of Human Intelligence.......2006-02-02
"Blood Dolls" is a confounding freakfest about which little of worth can be said... It begins with a quite literal indictment of corporate ethics as a pair of unscrupulous complicitors in an unethical business enterprise enter the world of a business "genius" who wears a long-discarded X-Files prop (literally copied from the episode "Grotesque") as a mask, has a morose clown for a butler, and keeps a dwarf around for no apparent reason other than to keep the general sideshow aura amped to an extreme level. This dwarf routinely tortures his encaged, all-female rock band, who, beside being surprisingly technically adept, do little more than provide nudity. Shortly into the proceedings, the cornball bloodletting starts, the billionaire reveals the disproportionately small head beneath the mask, and one of the complicitous nobodies is transformed into a "blood doll." These must be parodies of "Puppet Master," but since that film might as well have been a parody itself, that isn't saying much. The film exudes an air of sadism amid the camp, and occassionally meanders into utterly senseless philosophical musings culled pretty much directly from the sources they cite. The acting is awful; the characters and story, absurd. However, it's also pretty damn funny, in an Ed Wood-let's take this seriously even as it becomes increasingly absurd to-kind of way. Worth a rent for a camp conoisseur, but little else.
a great horror/humor combo.......2004-08-01
This one went surprisingly deep on the philosophical banter between the protagonist and antagonist. But it was no mere head-to-head talkie. The music was astonishingly good, the suspenseful action lent a continuing air of suspension and tension that gave you the creeps, and the script was a twist if Nietzsche meets the Twilight Zone. The babes were hot and sassy and the relationships complicated like the taste a well aged wine. If you don't like this movie, you probably don't like to have fun with horror and should seek your thrills in more somber chillers. The clown! William Burns brought levels of sophistication to his role. His character was a spiritual man, you see. The story's message might offend the devoutly religious. Too bad. Hidden talent showed up in this yarn. The girl band coulda been a contender. The lead actress in the movie leaves you begging for more. Literally.
Where do i find the music?.......2003-04-21
The movie was "interesting" it takes some getting used to, u just have to laugh with it. I've been trying forever to track down the band that does the song "pain" but I can't figure out who sings it. the music video says "blood dolls" but nothing shows up on them as being a real band...
I'm almost ashamed.......2003-04-10
I'm almost ashamed to admit this but I loved this movie. The first time I saw it I thought it was a parody but by the third or fourth time it simply grew on me. Virgil is a billionaire with an anatomical problem and a totally out of control sense of humor. His henchman Mr. Mascaro is a clown who has no intention of making you laugh. Virgil has a live band held captive in the living room and has living dolls who kill people. Sounds ridiculous right? Well it is but Blood Dolls never pretends to be anything more than the B flick it is.

One of the better body-count knockoffs in the wake of Friday the 13th's screaming success, Madman starts out in familiar territory: a summer camp. The legend of berserk farmer "Madman Marz" is told in a campfire prologue. "It is said if you say his name above a whisper in the woods, he will hear you... and he will come for you." Needless to say, some idiot cries his name out and a hulking killer in overalls and a wild fright wig arrives with mayhem on his mind. He hacks his way through the camp counselors, lynching, chopping, beheading, and in general making a meat market of the twentysomethings. Director Joe Giannone executes it all with a little style and creativity, borrowing ideas from better-known productions: the ghost-story spookiness of John Carpenter's The Fog, a minimalist synthesizer score reminiscent of Halloween, a few nods to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and plenty of Friday the 13th-inspired stalk and slash. The film's only real weaknesses are its competent-at-best performances, but the effects are fine and the clichés are tweaked just enough to keep the audience guessing.
The DVD features commentary by director Giannone, producer Gary Sales, and stars Tony Fish and Paul Ehlers, along with TV spots and a trailer. --Sean Axmaker
Customer Reviews:
Solid 80's Slasher.......2007-02-10
"Madman"
I have to disagree with the masses; I completely enjoyed this movie and still do.
First off it's a maniac in the woods flick "my favorite" .I liked the premise of the movie.
Does Madman Marz look cheesy ? a bit, yes, but that's ok the kills are good and its suspenseful and I like the legend of madman told by the fire and how they reenact it I liked the characters except the girl who looks like a rat that is always whining and whos boyfriend is much too HOT for her..
Sorry I'm a woman. We notice these things, all in all it's a good slasher its in my top 15.
And a tip "never work on your engine with your head underneath the hood when there is a madman running loose!!"
Axe-grinding mayhem........2006-10-29
The reason why I gave it a 3 star rating instead of 4 is because of the dumb ending otherwise this film wasn't that bad. If you like cheesy low budget 80's slasher films then you wouldn't have a problem with this, the film might be a rippoff of the friday the 13th series and other slasher films like Sleepaway camp but it still managed to be enjoyable. The camp counselers look scarier than Madman himself and the acting was priceless especailly that guy in the beggining who sings The madman marz theme tune and yes I'm not kidding there is a theme tune lol. The camp that the counselers work at is for gifted children and the story begins at a campfire where one of the counselers tells the tale of Madman Marz who killed his family and then went to the local bar to have a drink while he was covered in blood the locals dicide to have thier revenge by hanging him only to find out that he escaped and when someone says his name out loud several times he appears, as the tale finishes off one genius at the campfire dicides to call out his name as a joke but offcourse he'll soon regret his decision. The makeup fx on Marz looks terrible and so corny that you just have to laugh however the death scenes were great like the decapitation under the car hood and a ripped out throat, some of the setup and chase sequences were very good and I also like the fact that one of the victims hides in a fridge which hasn't been done before. this was an average slasher flick thats deffinitely worth watching if you liked this film then I also recommend Black Christmas, Sleepaway camp, The burning, The hills have eyes (1977 & 2006) and Intruder.
Cheese with a capital C ...!!!.......2006-09-15
So much 80's cheese a supply of saltine crackers is a must! OMG! ..ok how many times have you seen this in one of these type of movies? A man tells a creepy story in the beginning of the movie around a campfire that involves a hokey legend.. and what happens next? ..Of course, coincidentally the legend is just hanging out waiting to pick off an unsuspecting cast of unknowns. Sound familiar? In this case we get a bonus! The ugliest cast ever put together in the history of 80's cheese movies! Its almost worth watching the movie to debate who the ugliest cast member is. ..so why you ask did I give this movie 3 stars? Well the answer is simple, because 2 and a half is not allowed and, I just like this sort of stuff.
Whoops.........2006-09-05
I saw this movie when I was a kid and thought it might be worth it to see it again years later. I was wrong.
Two stars and that's being nice!!.......2006-06-12
The killer is a ridiculous looking hillbilly. He doesn't scare me. This movie is absurd. That guy looks ridiculous going through the trees. The acting is no good. This is a low-budget movie and it doesn't scare me. The kills are ridiculous. I don't like this movie. I have nothing good to say about this movie. Quite frankly, it stinks.

Good 3D for video. Bad movie for everything else........2005-07-17
If you can get a 3d copy of this movie then skip part one altogether as the only good parts of the first show up here and they barely knew what they were doing in that first project.I mean what kind of 3d film shows a marshmellow going into the flame from behind someones shoulder? You're supposed to point it at the camera ,you nitwit that's what makes it pop out! Basically the main reason to watch this empty headed opus is for the gory effects and to see what this commercially available 3d lens can do for any standard or digital camcorder. If these Bozos can make a 3d film with an almost non existant budget think what you can do with your drunken friends and a yo-yo expert.Buy this as a what not to do film and enjoy the goofy gore coming out of the screen.

terrible yet better then the first.......2002-11-02
*SPOILER THIS MOVIE IS DUMB*
this movi may be made by my favorite B-movie company and thats the only reason I payed 2 dollars for this. Dead-Alive which released Meet the Feebles My favorite movie made by Peter Jackson (The Frightners, Lord of the rings) but this movie is literly terrible it is almost as bad as a kick in the nuts.
camp ?.......2002-09-10
i have the first camp blood in 3D with the glasses and thats where they should of left it
plenty of blood for everyone.......2002-07-29
movie worthy of 3 stars but thats about it. at least the murder scenes are above average, otherwise a decent movie, especially for a low budget film. what's with the cast of the movie though?
the director's assistant is a drunk and looks up all the girl's skirts? and the director sure didn't have much of a crew or cast, very very unrealistic. think they could have done a much better job on this movie thats for sure. i'm sure there will be plenty of sequeals though considering the amount of people that think their going to be cult classics.
Camp Dud 2.......2002-07-19
PLOT: Our "hero" from the last Camp Blood (her name escapes me) has survived and been aucussed of the murders. She now spends her time at the local nut house. A "director" (Note quotations for sarcasim) wants to make movie about the Camp Blood murders. He gets the girl out of the asylum and goes to Camp Blood to film. All of the sudden one by one the cast is being killed off. The clown is back and she's (whoops I mean he's ... or do I ???) out for vengence.
STRAIGHT TALK: Seriously how easy could this mystery be. I knew who the killer was with in the first 20 minutes. It so obvious. I won't tell but if it surprises you, you are not even worthy to see "this" movie. If you've seen the first Camp Blood this is pretty much the same. Same...picture. Same... effects and same...killer.
CAST: What a whopper! I really liked the pot smoking effects guy. And the beer drinking ass. director. Besides that it sucks.
KILLS: The famous Camp Blood machete goes to work with some stabs to the head, chest, throat and mouth. Pretty good kills considering the movie.
CONCLUSION: This was o.k. Not bad, not good. Like I said, it's almost too obvious who the clown is in this one. Just see if you can figure it out. If you got some money left over and wanna see a bad movie rent this one or its predecessor.

hilarious.......2006-01-29
i honestly can't remember the last time i laughed this hard at a movie.
people are looking way to far into this, but in reality, if you can't laugh at this you don't have a sense of humor. it is right up there with return of the living dead.
Oh gee, here's an original idea............2005-01-05
Let's see a group of campers go to a place called 'Camp Blood', but they are warned not to go by a crazy old man on the side of the road. They end up facing a homicidal maniac who kills them with a machette. Do you think they might have lifted this from 'Friday the 13th'? Well there you go for a plot.
The blond birdwatcher who gets killed in the beginning is the hottest chick in the film, she's also the only one with a topless scene and she looks real good. The other girl that sparins her ankle is cute, but she keeps her clothes on, as does the overweight girl with the huge chest. Harris the guide is pretty butch, but she also keeps her clothes on. So if you're looking for T&A, it's over before the opening credits.
The acting isn't that bad. Except for the rich kid with the cell-phone. He's pretty hammy and lays on the schlock pretty thick.
Spoiler ahead be warned.....
This is pretty stupid because HArris is the first to die. She's hacked up and burned when the campers discover her in the morning. They are killed one by one until the overweight chick with the short haircut runs down the killer in a truck. It turned out to be Harris the guide. Yeah right, OK.
The end of ther flick has the survivor in an insane asylum and all her friends arrive as a doctor, cop, and a nurse. The last scene is the clown approaching with the machette.
This is a pretty stupid movie. Not much more can be said.
Oh the humanity!.......2004-04-15
I rarely have problems watching a shot on video production. I figure budding new filmmakers have to start somewhere in the quest for a Hollywood career. If that means picking up Mom and Dad's camcorder and shooting a film with your buddies, so be it. It's not like you can walk into a Tinseltown studio with a script tucked under your arm and get a job making a summer blockbuster by the end of the week. Making films is a lot like writing; it takes a great amount of time and effort to create something other people will want to experience. I have seen plenty of movies where the director had almost nothing to work with yet created a truly engaging picture. Look at David Cronenberg's "Shivers," for example. He had so little money that he couldn't film anywhere other than in an apartment building, yet the movie works nicely because the idea is original. Unfortunately, "Camp Blood" is an example of the other extreme, a prime example of sloppy filmmaking, bad acting, and a horrible and highly derivative script. "Camp Blood" looks bad, feels bad, and is bad. I find it incredible that you can rent this atrocity at the video store.
A group of young people (sigh) decides to camp out in the woods near an abandoned summer camp that the locals in the area have since rechristened Camp Blood. We know the place is dangerous because a couple looking for rare flora and fauna die horribly at the hands of killer clown (!) before the kiddies get there, and the locals tell our hapless heroes not to go there. Well, one local tells them, a guy dutifully fulfilling the cliché ridden Crazy Ralph role seen in the early "Friday the 13th" films. As the campers arrive on the scene-two guys and two girls-they meet up with their "guide," a tough looking chick with a sinister attitude who seems to know more about Camp Blood than she is willing to let on. The gang tramps out into the woods, sets up a few tents, and promptly falls prey to a guy shuffling around in the woods wearing a cheesy clown mask. Everyone expires except one of the girls, a portly young lady whose screams of terror must rank as the funniest expressions of terror ever recorded on celluloid...oops, I mean videotape. The "twist" ending is so incredibly thickheaded that I felt not only robbed of the few cents I spent renting this clunker, but actually considered shelling out a few more bucks to hire a private detective to track down everyone associated with the film so I could personally tell them what I thought about the movie.
I didn't bother watching "Camp Blood" in its 3-D format since I don't have the necessary eyewear. Doing so wouldn't have made much of a difference anyway. The movie reeks, period. Everything you could imagine going wrong with a movie happens here. The acting, for example, is downright awful. One of the guys on the trip is such a mouthy jerk that watching his performance is the equivalent of dragging daggers over a chalkboard. He's always yelling at the top of his lungs, swearing at somebody, or threatening to harm his friends. Never mind the fact that he's a skinny little runt who would drop like a stone at the first punch. The second place award in the "most irritating" category is the heroine of the film, a whiny gal who constantly berates her friends about the trip. She also takes center stage in the lamest scene in the film, the all-important chase at the end between her and the killer. I've seen people with walkers move faster than these two. And she wails away like a siren the whole time. Even worse, the actors reappear at the end playing entirely different roles without any explanation.
As for the special effects, cinematography, and pacing-forget about it. A bit of blood shows up from time to time, but not enough or done well enough to get fired up about. The cinematography, strictly home movie camcorder all the way, looks like a three year old planned it. The pacing slows down to a snail's pace within seconds of the opening credits. I think the movie only ended up running for roughly seventy plus minutes, but it felt like I could have read "War and Peace," "Moby Dick," and "The Count of Monte Christo" in the time it took to watch the picture. I have already said it, but it bears repeating-nothing about "Camp Blood" works. The only mystery in this movie has little to do with the killer's identity but everything to do with how I could sit still long enough to watch this car wreck from start to finish. I am not strongly urging you to avoid this film; I am ordering you not to watch it. Just keep moving right along when you see the case on the shelf at the video store.
The DVD contains a few extras, mostly trailers for a couple of other schlock shot on video films like "Hunting Season" and a zombie picture. I got the impression from the trailers that the same people behind "Camp Blood" had a lot to do with these two films. If so, I know I won't watch them anytime soon. Why? Life lasts only so long, and there are other things I could do with my time. Like cleaning my navel, organizing my sock drawer, and polishing the plastic tips on my shoelaces. I guess we should give it up for "Camp Blood" in the end, though. By making such an atrocious film, every other film now has a standard against which they can judge their own innate badness (or goodness). Give this one a wide, wide berth.
Camp Blood Review #1.......2003-07-28
Wow! What can I say about this movie? I fell in love with it after just 1 viewing. I saw it in a video store shortly after The Blair Witch Project hit the theaters and rented it. It is independently-made so the camera work isn't spectacular, but the special effects make up for that! The characters and dialogue are believable, and the action is intense and scary. A must-see for all horror movie fans!! Needless to say, I own this and the sequel.
