You don't need to know anything about hockey to be moved by this hourlong documentary about one of the greatest upsets in sports history: the United States' defeat of the vaunted Russian Olympic hockey team at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York. The film recounts the David vs. Goliath matchup between the Americans (essentially a group of college kids molded into a team by coach Herb Brooks, also the U.S. hockey coach in the 2002 Olympic games) and the Russians, professionals who had won four straight Olympic golds. The story is retold in interviews with the people who lived it, including Brooks and several of the American players, sportscaster Al Michaels (who uttered the title line as the game ended), and key Russian players. Do You Believe in Miracles? is a solid blend of sports and history that focuses on the human element in one of the great underdog victories of all time. --Marshall Fine

5 out of 5 stars The Miracle.......2007-05-14

this is a great documentary of the 180 US team. the insight was invaluable. It was wonderful to relive this great moment in American sports.

5 out of 5 stars Thanks for the memories!.......2007-05-04

A beautifully done documentary in honor of what had to be one of the greatest sports moments in US history. The Al Michaels yelp "Do you believe in miracles?" still brings tears to my eyes so many years later. The documentary is fleshed out with insightful interviews, and it is just as nice to see that victory in 2007 as it was in 1980.

5 out of 5 stars A Slice of Americana.......2007-01-20

Every American should own a copy of "Do You Believe in Miracles?"

Patriotism is what this movie is all about!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars The Real Story of "Miracle of Ice".......2006-09-07

For those of you who saw the movie, Miracle, this is a great follow up with the real players and coaches. It covers every game the USA hockey played to win the gold medal. As Al Michals says in the film, "Everyone forgets that the US team had to win one more game after beating the Russians." With interviews with the players from both teams, you really get a sense of how much impact there was from a hockey game.

5 out of 5 stars Great Documentary, but I need the whole game.......2006-08-01

This was probably the greatest sports upset ever (at least American). No need to rehash what others have said, except for I want this game, the gold medal final, and medal ceremony on DVD. Every anniversary I check to see if it came out. The 20th and 25th anniversaries have past, and I'm not sure it's ever going to come out. This game brings a tear to my eye, because it was so amazing. It shows the true passion of sports.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Clear and Informative Without Personality.......2007-06-03

Overall, I would recommend this DVD. It is a little bit confusing to navigate due to the multiple and nested menu/index screens. Each segment is short and returns you to the menu screen when it finishes playing. Don't expect to sit back and play this all of the way through.
Melissa is very professional, but is devoid of personality. She is robotic, but informative and clear. She does not smile. You cannot tell if she likes or hates to crochet.
All of the information is presented in a way that is easy to grasp the concepts. The video and sound are fine. The lighting is flat. The close-ups of Melissa's hands and yarn are clear and easy to see. Instructions are detailed and comprehensive.

4 out of 5 stars Good Job Demonstrating How to Crochet.......2007-05-12

I purchased this DVD as a gift for my grandmother. She finds it hard to get started crocheting by following directions in a written book. She has really enjoyed this DVD and can get projects started by herself. In fact, she's in the process of making afghans for all of her great-grandchildren (nine currently, but another on the way!). From everything my grandmother has told me, this is a good DVD to get you started crocheting. Hope this helps.

Product Description

A rousing feature film that chronicles the unique relationship between the team and its fans, STILL, WE BELIEVE: THE BOSTON RED SOX MOVIE is set against the backdrop of the extraordinary? and extraordinarily suspenseful? 2003 baseball season. Benefiting from unprecedented access to the ballpark, clubhouse, and front office, the film covers last year's journey from Spring Training to the epic and climactic encounter with the New York Yankees in the ALCS . While containing privileged and extremely candid footage from the perspective of the team, it also narrates the amazing highs and lows from the point of view of eight representative but vastly different fans, all of whom share one thing: a passion for the Red Sox.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Still We Believe.......2007-04-12

This documentary has the drama and comedy of any Oscar-winning fiction. I never could have withstood the trauma of watching this film if we hadn't won within my lifetime. BTW, if you're a fan of Manny (and I am), he's a featured player.

5 out of 5 stars our wounds.......2006-10-10

For Red Sox fans, 2003 was the year that we finally understood that our world is an evil place.

It was the anteroom to 2004's glory. It was purgatory, a furnace of affliction. It was the sum of all our fears. For a moment, when we could not summon the strength to look away from the horror, it seemed that we had descended to hell. Momentarily, Dante was a sportswriter for the Globe, all was darkness, and the unbearable screaming just wouldn't stop.

STILL WE BELIEVE follows an endearing coterie of fans through the season of our hopes, one that would end in venerable BoSox fashion by a spectacular sequence of crashing and burning. Grady Little would be exiled to North Carolina, his given name rarely pronounced in New England after his American League Championship Series decision to allow a stubborn Petey to stay on the mound when his arm clearly needed a shower. Dan Shaughnessy would memorably label him 'He Who Shall Not Be Named', a verbal refusal to acknowledge the hapless tool of Satan that he became on that terrible night in the Bronx.

It's odd to watch this move again after the Exorcism of 2004, when Evil unexpectedly ambushed those Yankees, the planets shifted in their orbits, and Red Sox Nation had to adjust to the psychological impossibility that we had won it all.

One senses the eventual redemption of these hapless 2003 fans, a bright light on the horizon that they themselves could not yet see.

We did win it all. Life is worth living.

2003, like 1978 and 1986, became one more mile in the Forced March that led us to Paradise.

No-mah, now a Dodger, still rocks.

Enough said. Let's not think about 2003 any more.

5 out of 5 stars Makes You Feel at Home.......2005-03-26

This movie is 100% Red Sox, which all their characters except Jim Connors lives right outside of Boston. Living two states away from New England and being a die -hard Red Sox fan stinks. The fans in the movie make me feel right at home and I forget I'm not in New England.

This movie is also good because it portrays Nomar Garciaparra as the player he is. This past season has made everyone forget how good, talented, and nice the man is. One of the charcters, Jessemy Finet talks about Nomar and then Nomar talks about how wonderful, Boston and the Red Sox are. It signify's him the the fan favorite: not Pedro, Manny, Tek, Damon, or Lowe;just Nomar.

While the movie just isn't the same now that they won, it's still my favorite. Can't wait for the sequel this year!

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!.......2004-12-19

This movie is awesome!! I love it and it is a must have for any Sox fan. It's about the ups and downs that we Sox fans go through during every season. The only thing bad about it was how the 2003 season ended, but luckily none of that matters now!! GO SOX!!

3 out of 5 stars If you're a diehard Sox fan, you've seen this already.......2004-12-16

I was excited to get my hands on everything Red Sox-related after they finally won the World Series. I couldn't get enough, especially all the DVD's available. I was very pleased with all my purchases except this one. I didn't like it because most of the film is based on a handful of fans' perspectives of the team, and covers very little of the team itself. I don't care about John Q. Fan. I care about Trot, Tek, D-Lowe, Petey, Wake, Man-Ram, JD and Big Papi. If you're a diehard fan, you know people like these fans and you don't need to pony up the cash to see them celebrate Sox wins and moan after Sox defeats. I think the concept of this film was to show outsiders, non-Red Sox fans, the passion and intensity that we have for our team. It definitely gets that point across and serves its purpose. But, in reality, only a Red Sox fan would buy this film. Why buy something to get these other people's reactions to the bigger events of the 2003 season? Why not just remember your reactions and those of fellow Red Sox fans that you know? I was disappointed with this purchase and this DVD will gather dust on my shelf. Will I ever use it as a vehicle to show a non-Red Sox fan the level of passion and intensity? No. It won't work. I tried. It results in boredom. They don't get it. There's only one way to do that -- take them to Cask'N Flagon and Fenway Park. A DVD about a handful of Sox fans does our passion and intensity no justice. I prefer remembering 2003 and 2004 for the players on the field. If I want to REALLY connect with a film, I want to see a throng of faceless fans erupt when Trot hits the bomb in Game 3 of the ALDS and recall that memory. I don't want to watch Angry Bill sit in his chair and comment on it. Snore. Do yourself a favor and go buy 1). Faith Rewarded, 2)The 2004 World Series and 3) Cowboy Up.

5 out of 5 stars What a great movie!.......2007-04-22

This is one of the most captivating love stories I've ever seen on film. It starts with a young woman (Katya, played by Vera Alentova) reporting to her Worker's Dormitory friends that she has flunked by two points the exam to get into university. It ends with the most incredible sweetness of life.

It is like a French film done by a Russian company (which is what it is). The Moscow we see that does not believe in tears does believe in love, and it is not a Moscow of politics, although some people do call one another "comrade." This is a woman's point of view film (a "chick flick") that transcends any genre cage. It begins slowly, almost painfully dull in a way that will remind the viewer of all the cliches about Russia, the unstylish dress, the worker's paradise that isn't, the sharp contrast between Moscow and the peasants who live outside the city. Katya works in a factory. She works at a drill press. She is obviously underemployed. Lyudmila (Irina Muravyova) works in a bakery. She is probably gainfully employed for the time and place. They are friends, twentysomethings who are on the make for a man, but not a man from the sticks. They pretend to be university post docs or something close to that and they impress some people as they house-sit a beautiful Moscow apartment.

This is how their adult life begins in a sense. Lyudmila falls in love with an athlete; Katya becomes infatuated with a television cameraman. One thing leads to another and before we know it they are forty. Neither relationship worked out. The athlete becomes an alcoholic, the cameraman, in the sway of his mother, believes that Katya is beneath him (once he finds out that she works in a factory). How wrong he is, of course.

But no more of the plot. I won't spoil it. The plot is important. The characterizations are important. The story is like a Russian novel in that it spans lots of time, but once you are engaged you will find that the two and a half hours fly by and you will, perhaps like me, say at the end "What a great movie!"

My hat is off to director Vladimir Menshov and to Valentin Chernykh who wrote the script and to the cast. I've mentioned Vera Alentova and Irina Muravyova, but Aleksey Batlov who played Gosha was also excellent. I don't want to say anymore. Just watch the film. It is one of the best I've ever seen.

1 out of 5 stars will carrie wind up with zhivago or stalin? oops, i must be mixing up my stories ..........2006-10-06

an insufferable view of life among a claque of ruskie girlfriends from the late 50s to the late 70s. nothing more than "sex & the city" transplanted to moscow in the khruschev and brezhnev eras -- if thats your cup of borscht, more power to you!

5 out of 5 stars Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears.......2006-06-17

This movie shows the classic of Russian history. People interested in Russian culture should definately watch this movie. The plot of the story is really interesting.

3 out of 5 stars Average/below average release by KINO.......2005-04-06

The film requires no introduction, however, the KINO "regular" edition (the special edition is out of print) is a bitter disappointment, moreso for the price it goes by. The subtitles are not optional (hardcoded into the mpeg) - so VERY poor DVD authoring workmanship there! Try to get the SE if possible (supposedly with extra features, and optional, multi-language subtitles.)

5 out of 5 stars Moscow Does Not Believe In Tears.......2004-06-13

I have watched this movie 20 times since it came out in 1980. This version is so good because the producers corrected the errors in the original subtitles. They were white letters on white tableclothes and white benches. It made it very difficut to read especially during some very critical scenes. That has been corrected in this DVD version. I highly recommend the subtitled version of this film over the English dubbed. The acting is so well done that the voice intonations are critical to the quality of the film. The dub-overs do not have those intonations that are so unique.

This is the tale of three Russian women who are very close friends and the paths they took in life. It spans over 20 years. The story could happen in almost any large city in the world, but it is an added touch that it takes place in Moscow during the Communist rule. One gets an interesting insight into life there at that time.

5 out of 5 stars Dragon Tales Believe in Yourself.......2007-04-10

My son loves this DVD and it teaches good lessons all children should know.

5 out of 5 stars A Toddler And His Dad Recommend "Dragon Tales".......2005-03-18

After "Blue's Clues" and "Bob The Builder," this is my 2-year-old son's favorite TV show on DVD. It may take a few episodes to appreciate "Dragon Tales," which was jointly developed by the folks at Sesame Street and Sony Pictures. "Dragon Tales" focuses on different ways to deal with emotions and interpersonal issues. The animation for this series is basic but effective. One of the more subtle aspects of "Dragon Tales" is the way it introduces classical music - the musical score is entirely performed by a "concert band" with full brass and woodwinds sections.

5 out of 5 stars Again Again!.......2005-01-15

Once again, PBS has scored a hit with this Dragon Tales DVD. Like most of the others, it has continuous play and play all, very convenient for parents. My son is 2 1/2 and this is his favorite show, he will sit and just laugh and tell me about the show. As soon as its over, he shouts "again again" and we pop in the DVD. I haven't watched each of these episodes yet with him, this is his newest DVD, but he likes it as much as the others. These 5 episodes are suppoed to teach kids to trust in their abilities and take on new challenges.

3 out of 5 stars Women are from Venus, etc. .......2007-06-26

Is a young woman expected to have sex when she makes the decision to attend a party at a frat house, whether or not she maintains consciousness? Or, can she expect to be able to pass out anywhere, even among drunk and horny college boys, and remain unmolested? The film approaches this and other date rape situations with an earnest and fairly comprehensive examination of the subject from both male and female perspectives. This film brought back many memories of college life for me. Even though I had not taken part in Greek life at THE Ohio State University, I vividly recall many discussions of this sort. This, coupled with the fact the film was shot entirely in Ohio, my home state, drew me into the film probably more than it deserved to do. I enjoy watching Allison Smith, and I also wanted to see Kim Walker (of "Heathers" fame) in one of the too few roles she graced before tragically passing away in 2001. This is not a great film, but it is certainly worth seeing at least once. Unfortunately, the DVD is full screen only and has no subtitle options. The transfer is pretty clean and crisp, however, and there is some bonus material as well.

    3 out of 5 stars Well-Crafted Low-Budget Drama Deserves a Look..........2006-01-20

1995's "A Reason to Believe" has gained notoriety over the years as the low-budget film where Holly Marie Combs, of "Charmed" fame, does a topless love scene. This is unfair, as the film, shot "on a shoestring" by first-time director Douglas Tirola, is a remarkably well-made, sensitive look at date rape, and the aftermath to both the victim, and those around her. Without resorting to either preaching or titillation, the film remains one of the better dramas of an issue that continues to plague college campuses.

The heroine of the story is young Charlotte (Allison Smith), a popular sorority girl, who, against the wishes of her boyfriend, Wesley (Danny Quinn, son of Oscar winner Anthony Quinn), attends a frat party alone, where she is raped by Wesley's best friend, Jim (Jay Underwood). As Jim brags of his 'conquest', Charlotte goes through a period of self-loathing and denial, until Jim's version destroys her relationship with Wesley, the friendship of her sorority sisters, and makes her an unwilling 'Cause' for the campus feminist group. Forced to take a stand, she finds her reputation smeared by Jim, his fraternity, and even her ex-friends, until the Dean ("Animal House" 'Neidermeyer', Mark Metcalf), calls in both parties to learn the truth...

While the fraternity scenes are more 'Delta House' than real, the chain of events rings true (Jim's girlfriend, so devoted that she'd rather lie about Charlotte than 'lose' him; Wesley's 'rebound' bedmate, played with conviction by Combs, becoming another victim of Jim's unwanted attentions). Even an eyewitness to the rape (Keith Coogan, great-grandson of Jackie) cannot come forward, as he is a 'druggie' who would not be believed, only arrested if he spoke out.

To Tirola's credit, he never permits the film to slide into melodrama, preferring to allow events to unfold naturally. The limited budget forces the film's resolution to be a bit rushed, and 'pat', but will still satisfy most viewers.

"A Reason To Believe" deserves praise for the quality 'look' it achieves (on a budget of under $200,000), the timeliness of the issues it addresses, and several outstanding performances. To remember it solely for a few moments of nudity does it a disservice!

4 out of 5 stars Accurate Though Exhaggerated View of College Students.......2005-10-21

This gives an accurate vision of what's on the minds of college students today. Definitely negative slant regarding the men in the film. Overall, worth seeing.

3 out of 5 stars Reason To Believe.......2002-05-16

This is a basically good movie. I was disappointed that there was not an unrated version. There are scenes which have been edited out. If you buy a censored version (which the "R" version is), you've been cheated. The movie should be seen as the director filmed it!

1 out of 5 stars Sleazy and trashy.......2001-12-03

Reason To Believe has got to be the worst movie I have ever sat through. Non of the characters are at all believable and most are morally disgusting. I am no prude but if this movie represents the way college students live today then it is no wonder the world is in such decay. There really is no reason to see this movie. Totally disgusting. Why well known actors would be involved in such sleazy trash is beyond comprehension!!!!

    Description

Formed in 1967, the Newsreel film collective was dedicated to chronicling and analyzing current events. In their time, they produced more than three dozen films throughout the US and abroad. By working directly with the Black Panthers, Newsreel was able to explore realities often ignored by traditional media outlets, while producing documents that the Panthers could use in organizing their own communities. The results speak for themselves and stand as true testimonials to the spirit of community self-defense and political savvy the Panthers are celebrated--and were targeted--for.

For the first time on DVD, we're proud to present three acclaimed Newsreel Films on the Black Panther Party: Off the Pig; Mayday; and Repression. Accompanying these three Newsreel films is a massive quantity of rare and exclusive materials culled from Roz Payne's extensive collection of FBI documents, correspondence, and interviews with Panthers and their supporters. It's all here, the government-sponsored repression, the trials, exile, triumph, and reunion. These materials--over 12 hours--are crucial to understanding the Black Panther Party and their legacy.

    This Four-Disc Set Features:
Disc One: Three Newsreel Films, Interviews with Field Marshall Donald Cox, Footage from 35th Anniversary Reunion.
Disc Two: Interviews with Former FBI Agents, Footage from the Wheelock Academic Conference on the BPP.
Disc Three: Interviews with various movement lawyers discussing Panther cases.
Disc Four: Interviews with Newsreel members, extras from the Roz Payne Archives.

A portion of the proceeds from this project will go to support Black Panther prisoners through Books Behind Bars, the Jericho Movement, and the Human Rights Research Fund.

5 out of 5 stars A great wealth of invaluable historic footage .......2007-04-11

What We Want, What We Believe: The Black Panther Party Library is a 4-DVD collection of over twelve hours of rare footage documenting the Black Panther movement. Contents include films taken by Newsreel film collective, interviews with Field Marshall Donald Cox, footage from the 35th Anniversary Reunion, interviews with former FBI agents, footage from the Wheelock Academic Conference on the Black Panther Party, interviews with various movement lawyers discussing Panther cases, interviews with Newsreel members, DVD-ROM documents from the Roz Payne "Archives chronicling the movement and repression against it, and more. Though unquestionably sympathetic to the Panthers' perspective, What We Want, What We Believe contains a great wealth of invaluable historic footage and is therefore especially recommended for college library DVD collections. 720 minutes, black & white and color.

5 out of 5 stars Black Panthers, surprise support........2007-02-07

I was surprised that hippie types videotaped the Black Panthers. I was surprised that they got a lot of their funding from the middle class liberal white people.
I was surprised to know that they were trying to address the needs of all oppressed people.
It is no wonder the govertment agencies thought of them as a threat. They wanted real change.
I am sad they there is no one like them alive today. We need them now.

5 out of 5 stars "They're saying the Black Panthers are subversive.".......2007-01-04

"What We Want, What We Believe: The Black Panther Library" is a four-disc set that offers 12 hours of information regarding various aspects of the Black Panthers. This DVD set is not an A-Z history of how the Black Panthers were formed, and the viewer will be best served if the DVDs are watched with prior knowledge of some of the names, and some of the incidents that occurred within the Black Panther movement.

Disc One contains three Newsreel films--"Off the Pig" (footage that illustrates the Black community's relationship with the Police, and Bobby Seale's 10-point plan for the Panthers), "Mayday" (a record of the May 1st, 1969 mass demonstrations held to free Huey Newton) and "Repression" (interviews with various Panthers: "The ruling class never learns the lessons of history"). Then it's onto a long interview with Donald Cox, former Blank Panther Field Marshall who now lives in exile in France. This is followed by extracts of the 35th Reunion of the Black Panther Party. Also on Disc One are 'audio' only features.

Disc Two includes question and answer sessions from the Wheelock Conference, and interviews with two former FBI agents--Special Agents William A. Cohendet and Wesley Swearingen.

Disc Three contains interviews with Black Panther movement lawyers, and Disc Four contains interviews with various Newsreel Film members--including Roz Payne. The four disc set comes with a booklet that explains how Newsreel Films was formed, and Roz Payne discusses how she began to record her experiences and the experiences of her friends within the Black Panther Party on film. When Payne began recording these archival films, they were not intended for commercial use, but the films were solely to record events as they occurred or as opportunities presented themselves. As a result, the footage retains a "home-movie" quality.

As it stands, the 12 hours of footage here is remarkable and priceless, and if you are at all interested in learning more about the Black Panthers, this DVD set is a mine of information. Not only does the footage provide a sense of the times, but also the various films stand as witness to events--and sometimes as versions of events that are not necessarily the same versions of events that are now found in history books. Of particular interest are the interviews with the two FBI agents, and Swearingen's admission that the FBI staged the shootings of John Huggins and Bunchy Carter using Geogre and Ali Stiner. He describes that the setup "went wrong", the Stiners were convicted but they mysteriously 'walked' out of San Quentin a few months later. Swearingen's interview is long and riveting as he describes the moral quagmire of working within the highly racist FBI Los Angeles Black Panther Group. His interview provides some invaluable insights into the workings of the FBI's COINTELPRO programme that used a variety of techniques to break the Panthers--including: factionalism, wiretapping, "psychological warfare ... planting false media stories ... legal harassment; and extralegal force and violence." Swearingen relates stories of how "neutralizing" the Black Panther Party was achieved by COINTELPRO, and it's not pretty....

For those who'd like to learn more about the activities of the COINTELPRO programme, read Ward Churchill's books "Agents of Repression: The FBI's Secret Wars Against the Black Panther Party and the American Indian Movement" and "The COINTELPRO Papers: Documents from the FBI's Secret Wars Against Dissent in the United States"--displacedhuman

    5 out of 5 stars A very refreshing movie.......2007-01-12

The blurb on the case says, "A Christmas classic your family will treasure" but that is silly. This movie, which happens to take place during the Christmas holidays, has a story which has special meaning for people who know what it is like to withdraw, to pretend to live, and to sneak through the workday afraid... knowing that you will be caught and always afraid that today will be that day. While it is a miraculous turn of events which forces Susan Stone to confront where her life is and where it must inevitably lead if she doesn't act, no magical means are involved in her journey back. It just a series of decisions to actually live her life again.

What sings to one person can come across flat for another, I know, but I really believe this is a movie that has a lot to say to people who find themselves mired in the same trap Susan Stone was in.

    4 out of 5 stars I loved this movie.......2007-01-08

I saw this on TV a few years ago. At the time I had just gone through a divorce and was pretty sour on men. This movie sucked me right in; it played with my awareness on several different levels, and the casting was wonderful. I finally found the DVD this year, and bought it in a hearbeat. It has now joined the growing stack of movies to watch at Holiday time every year!

5 out of 5 stars Ally Walker did a wonderful job.......2006-05-26

I love this movie so much; in fact, I watched it over and over again. Ally Walker played a boring Susan who would not trust in Santa Claus as well as love. Thanks to Susan's little ghost, she finally realized the importance of life and the beauty of love.

5 out of 5 stars The Journey of the Inner Child.......2005-12-08

Many good Christmas movies have a redemptive theme, such as A Christmas Carol. Some Christmas movies build their theme around self discovery, such as It's a Wonderful Life; and some Christmas movies plead with us to rediscover the Kid within us, such as A Christmas Story or Home Alone. If You Believe weaves all these themes together into a magical story.

The Plot is simple: Susan Stone has worked hard to squeeze all the magic out of her life until she is left lonely, disillusioned, and on the fast track to be fired from her publishing job. Her younger self appears, forces her to take chances, and to rediscover the magic of life. What keeps this story from being just another cliche are the other characters that appear throughout the story: The lawyer from Connecticut, Thom Weller, who has written a weird but funny novel about his physic family; Robin the assistant, who is terrified of Susan; Dorinda, the office competitor who specializes in dirty books; and Mark, the with-it Editor with lots of savey.

The journey is what makes this story a pleasure and reminds one that recovery from self inflicted pain can take place only if one begins to believe in one's self. This very simple film has become a family Christmas tradition.

    5 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Classic...........2005-11-21

What A Treasure This Movie Is...I Bought It A While Ago On VHS, I Loved It!! I Bought The Dvd As Soon As I Saw It, It Is One Of The Best Christmas Movies Ever Done!!! The Cast Is Sooo Terrific...Ally Walker Is At Her Best And Hayden Penettiere Is Very Entertaining & Fun, Tom Amandes Is Always Enjoyable And Here He Shines!!! Great Sunday Afternoon Movie!!!

      5 out of 5 stars Champion DVD.......2004-12-26

Boy, was I glad this DVD came out. As long as I've been a fan I have never been able to attend a concert. I've wanted to, but means and circumstance have never allowed me. Finally I have been able to see them, and within the comforts of my own home. Ah, technology! The concert has great lighting and excellent sound. I don't think too much was lost from stage to screen. Even better were the song selections. We get new songs, obviously. We also get some Clarity classics. I loved Goodbye Sky Harbor before, but their live performance was even better making it more energetic and catchy. Many such modifications exist in the concert keeping it fresh and enjoyable.
The documentary is just as good. It's great to see a band that isn't the stereo-typical immature losers that got lucky. We see a well matured and thoughtful group who do things for the good of the music that they play, not solely for the good of themselves. This is evinced in the telling of the making of Bleed American. Anyone who is a fan of Jimmy should buy this. It's that simple. It's a whole fantastic JEW experience.
