GREAT MOVIE.......2006-12-09

A mother's sacrafice to keep her children happy without them taking into consideration their mother's happiness or appreciation for her love. I enjoyed this movie.

Beware, PAL.......2006-07-14

Some sellers are selling the PAL version of this DVD under this heading of Region 1. Unless you can play PAL, avoid.

The most notorious of these, caiman, even refuses to give a refund or an exchange for YOUR mistake in having ordered a PAL version.

Caveat Emptor

Enjoyable yet unpretentious.......2005-10-13

Angela Lansbury does a wonderful job at protraying this character. Set in great locations that make the story more believable. No movie ever lives up to what a book can deliver in feeling and detail but this comes pretty close. I enjoyed the complex relationships between mother and children. They ring so true, using my family and other families I know as a guide. Forget those that say this is nothing like the book or give it only one or two stars. This movie does stand on it's own and the acting is great.

A beautiful, warm, and compelling film, THE SHELL SEEKERS is one of television's few genuine film masterpieces. Originally produced as a Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation, this absorbing and all too human drama deserves much more widespread attention.

Though it may not follow the book in every respect, it nonetheless stands on it's own. (And --please!--readers
of the book should ALLOW it to stand on it's own, as any film is meant to do, judging it on IT'S OWN merits and not against their memory of the book!)

Well written and beautifully filmed, it features outstanding performances by a well rounded cast of uniformly excellent actors, not the least of whom is star Angela Lansbury.

In a day in which grown children find it all too easy to blame their parents for every childhood shortcoming, the warmth, compassion, and uplifting message of this filmic gem can help bring healing and insight to many of today's
searching "thirtysomethings". This isn't just a movie, it's a healing and enlightening experience. It can also
bring encouragement and support to today's "sixty-somethings" who have felt the brunt of false guilt and
undeserved criticism from ungrateful offspring.

Unavailable on television or video for many years, truly this is a film not to be missed. It's a beautiful, poignant video that belongs in every family's video library.

Nothing like the book!.......2007-05-26

Yet again, the film making industry has utterly demolished a great story! Read the book. It's a great family book about the Bastable family, and the children do have many adventures attempting to "restore the fallen fortunes of the House of Bastable", but they do not do it by lying or constantly fighting. They learn a lesson with each adventure instead.

This movie production, however, deviates so far from the book as to be ludicrous. Instead of the father being a businessman ruined by grief, he is an incompetent absent-minded inventor. The children lie. The children are disrespectful of authority. The oldest character, Dora shows teenage angst that never appeared in the book. The minor character of the authoress is turned into a feminist doctor. Why did they have to take the values of the Victorian family out and make a movie about today's societal problems?

Keira Knightly has a cameo role!.......2006-08-24

A rip-roaring family-friendly adventure, not only wonderful for children, but their parents will enjoy it too. An interesting factoid is that Keira Knightly (as a child) has a brief appearance as the mysterious princess. This scene seems totally superfluous to the plot, but it's true to the book.

Different Lifestyles Are Attainable.......2001-09-22

Captivating story with good material for showing different lifestyles attainable by choice. DVD questions for discussion are a good addition to the movie and help encourage problem-solving. Charming depiction of Victorian England with background info on DVD. "It was an exciting story. The kids were fun." "The father's invention was interesting. I didn't know it could take six years to invent something." "I liked how they talked: would you like a spot of tea?" "I would love to watch it again." Best for ages 8 to 12.

The best part of this movie, for me anyway (a longtime JAG fan), was watching Catherine Bell run - that's it... After reading a few reviews, I was disappointed.

Well made TV movie.......2005-07-20

"The Time Shifters" (original title) is one of TBS' better made TV movies, along with 2001's Invincible (with Billy Zane). I saw it a few times when it first aired in 1999. While it doesn't measure up to big screen action movies, it's still a very enjoyable suspense flick. Casper Van Dien (in the last role I saw him in) and Jag's Catherine Bell do a nice job as the time travelling agents. I enjoyed seeing Hamilton's Copps Colliseum (been there) and other Ontario locations. This movie is worth a look.

Thrill Seekers is GREAT!.......2003-08-11

This is a great movie. From the first time I watched it, I had to see it again and again so whenever it is on TV (which is unfortunately only two or three times a year), I just have to catch it. Thrill Seekers has a lot of action, suspence, and science fiction too which keeps you on the edge of your seat for the whole movie.

how good is this film-i caught it on tv and was held captive from start to finish. not only does casper look great he gives a fantastic performance great different story and pretty good effects for a low budget movie-take a chance buy it i guarentee you won't be disappointed

Great movies for family viewing. These movies are more gripping than you might think. I still think about, "Keeping the Promise." The price is a plus also(You can get this at another site for under twenty).

Absolutely Amazing!!!.......2006-05-06

These young brothers are absolutely awesome. Amazing! Never in a million years would I have expected this powerful quartet sound from such a young group of men like the Soul Seekers. The music touches your soul at its core. This is a MUST HAVE for your music/dvd library. Trust me, you won't be sorry. As a matter of fact, EVERYONE will be crowding around the tv dancing and clapping when they see these young brothers perform gospel music, quartet style, at it's best. They simply didn't give me enough stars to rate this one. I'd say a 10+++++ Buy it. You'll love it!

Ok. There's some ugly naked girls(BUT THE ONLY HOT ONE DOESN'T SHOW 'EM WTF), we know that for a fact. There's a storyline, I guess. This video entices people to kill, and if they don't everyone dies.

If you have any ability to appreciate indie films, you won't even notice the low production values. I mean, if you're complaining about the way this film is shot, you have no right to be watching any films of this type. And you probably don't. So you're just ridiculous.

So yeah. Weak storyline, poor acting. Fairly usual for these types of films. But the naked girls were ugly.

Ultimately, though, this film was worth at least one viewing, I'll give it that much. After that, well. Spank material if you like ugly girls, I guess.

A movie not even the director can love.......2005-04-09

I love bad movies, and I mean love them, but this is just BAD. I won't even go into how this is a Ringu rip-off, but there is no production quality and, for that matter, no movie to speak of anyway. Some people may be enticed by the abundance of really UGLY girls who get naked in this ditty, but anyone with a brain-cell remaining will find sitting through this flick to be the worst torture one can think of. Please, steer clear!

It's bad!.......2005-02-23

Just when you think you found the bottom, something comes along the redefines the phrase "B horror". This has got it all: Bad acting, video quality that looks like a home movie (porno quality), bad special FX, lack of blood (they black out the screen when someone is being killed). This is has got it all: bad fake blood, papier-mâché devil's mask (probably purchased at a Halloween shop), tapioca pudding dripping from a stove (I'm not joking), delayed sound (when someone hits someone, you see the hit before you heard the hitting sound), worse maiming scene in a horror movie (you will watch a girl demon sissy hit a guy, she never even touches him, then the next scene shows his shirt ripped up) Its bad....VERY BAD!
