The premise of the movie isn't that far off from the original. Egyptologist and general mess Evelyn (Rachel Weisz) discovers a map to the lost city of Hamunaptra, and so she hires rogue Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) to lead her there. Once there, Evelyn accidentally unlocks the tomb of Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo), a man who had been buried alive a couple of millennia ago with flesh-eating bugs as punishment for sleeping with the pharaoh's girlfriend. The ancient mummy is revived, and he is determined to bring his old love back to life, which of course means much mayhem (including the unleashing of the 10 plagues) and human sacrifice. Despite the rather gory premise, this movie is fairly tame in terms of violence; most of the magic and surprise come from the special effects, which are glorious to watch, although Imhotep, before being fully reconstituted, is, as one explorer puts it, rather "juicy." Keep in mind this film is as much comedy as it is adventure--those looking for a straightforward horror pic will be disappointed. But for those who want good old-fashioned eye-candy kind of fun, The Mummy ranks as one of choicest flicks of 1999. --Jenny Brown
John Hannah (as Weisz's brother) and Oded Fehr (as mystical warrior Ardeth Bay) also return from The Mummy, and trouble begins when Alex dons the Scorpion King's ancient bracelet, coveted by the evil mummy Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo), who's been revived by... oh, but does any of this matter? With a plot so disposable that it's impossible to care about anything that happens, The Mummy Returns is best enjoyed as an intermittently amusing and physically impressive monument of Hollywood machinery, with gorgeous sets that scream for a better showcase, and digital trickery that tops its predecessor in ambition, if not in payoff. By the time our heroes encounter a hoard of ravenous pygmy mummies, you'll probably enjoy this movie in spite of itself. --Jeff Shannon

The Mummy Collection.......2007-06-27
I bought this for my dad for fathers day. He is a fan of the Mummy movies and for 15 it is a great deal.
Great collection and great packaging........2007-06-04
I love the collection of movies or I would not have purchased them to begin with, but I equally love the way that this set comes packaged. All three discs are in the one case...not three seperate cases to take up unwanted space, and you can still clearly see the titles to all three discs.
If you have never seen the movies in this collection then I would have to say that if you like stories about Egypt, fiction or not, and you liek action, then this set is worth your time. It is action packed, great visual effects, good acting for the most part, and the storylines are good.
It is worth the price!
The Movies I love , but the boxset.............no so great.......2007-06-01
I love the Mummy and the Mummy returns. It has always been a favourite of mine but when i recieve it. It was Okay. The boxset was so cheap made. If the Box was made better, it would've been Okay. No wonder it was so cheap.
The Mummy is a collecter's edition with heaps of special features. I liked that about it, I do reccommend it to people that don't care how the boxset looks. but love the Movies.
Overall, I loved the movies at a great price.
LOVE the Mummy!.......2007-05-17
Well, I love watchin Brandon Fraiser....what a hottie! Anyway, this is a GREAT deal! You can't beat it! You get all 3 of these movies for under $15! How awesome. If you tried to buy these somewhere else, it would cost you at least over $25 or more.
These movies are a must have!
Mummy Collector's Set.......2007-05-16

GREAT COMEDY TEAM.......2007-06-06
WORTH THE MONEY
WHO DINT LOVE THIS SHOW , THIS SHOW WAS GREAT
I LOVE THIS DVD, BRINGS BACK LAUGHTER AND MEMORYS AND YOU NEVER GET BORED WITH IT,
Hit and miss quality.......2007-05-17
This final installment in this series seems more geared towards completists and serious fans instead of new or casual fans. Of the six films included, only half of them are actually A&C movies, all of them from the very end of their movie career (though at least they're of noticeably better quality than a lot of the turkeys on Volume 3). The other three films are documentaries, none of which are particularly ground-breaking; 'The World of A&C' in particular is awful. And though this was originally released as two flipper discs, the set I got had three one-sided discs, a big step up from the earlier problem-plagued double-sided DVDs all of these volumes were put out on. However, the menu on the first two discs hasn't been changed to reflect that, and still gives the impression that it's double-sided, what with asking the viewer to flip the disc over if s/he wants to watch the other film(s).
'A&C Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' (1953) is pretty good, probably the strongest of the three films on here, though it is slowed down a bit by a boring romantic subplot and an even more superfluous subplot about the suffragist movement in late 19th century England. Boris Karloff's Jekyll and Hyde character is also a bit one-dimensional, lacking the depth and emotional compellingness of other film portrayals of this famous dual character. Still, there are a lot of great moments and scenes in here, such as the scene in the wax museum, the search for the monster in the dressing rooms, and the chaos that ensues in both London and the police station when Lou's character (with the rather cringe-worthy name Tubby) turns into the monster at the same time that the real monster is on the loose.
'A&C Meet the Keystone Kops' (1955) is probably the weakest film on here, though I wouldn't go so far as to say it's one of their all-time worst. It feels more like a series of skits than a coherent whole, with each skit woven smoothly into the overall plot. Still, while not as inspired as their earlier classics, there is a lot of fun stuff here, such as the scene in the aeroplane, the scenes on the train, the early scenes where Bud is mistaken for Lou's abusive father, and the chase at the end. This film is also noteworthy because Bud's character was finally funny instead of being purely the straightman. He does a lot more physical comedy here than he ever did before; at least this development was better late than never.
'A&C Meet the Mummy' (1955) is actually pretty good for being their penultimate film, and their final film at Universal. I think it's rather better than its pretty dismal reputation, even though the boys are looking old and tired by this late point. There are a number of great scenes here, such as the hamburger-switching, the "take your pick" routine, and the three mummies running around in the Tomb of Klaris (though the real mummy doesn't look all that convincingly scary, just like someone wrapped in a bunch of bandages). Interestingly, Bud's character is billed as Peter Patterson and Lou's character is billed as Freddie Franklin in the credits, yet they call one another by their real names all throughout the film.
'A&C Meet the Monsters' is a brief mini-documentary a bit over a half-hour long, narrated by David Skal, and focusing on all of the horror spoofs they did in the late Forties and early Fifties. It's interesting enough, but could have been longer and covered more ground. 'A&C Meet Jerry Seinfeld' is the most interesting of the documentaries; it provides clips from their films, their tv show, and various appearances they made on other tv shows, home movies (a number of them in color), and a fair amount of historical background. Seinfeld's love of and enthusiasm for the team is palpable, but never crosses the line into fawning. It's always nice when a documentary is narrated by someone who actually has enthusiasm for the subject(s) instead of by someone who doesn't have much of an opinion one way or the other. Still, there isn't a lot of information here that most fans don't already know. 'The World of A&C' is a terrible clipshow from 1965, with obnoxious unfunny narration by Jack E. Leonard. The clips (from 19 of their films) are shown without rhyme or reason, with no context provided, and aren't even identified until the end credits. They're also not even shown in chronological order, which doesn't allow the viewer to get a sense of how their craft, screen relationship, and characters grew and evolved over time. Besides that, most of the clips are from their later films such as 'Mexican Hayride,' 'Lost in Alaska,' and 'A&C Go to Mars,' which aren't exactly regarded as the cream of the crop. It's inexplicable why their earlier, more representative, films were ignored or given such short schrift. And with no background information provided, just a nonstop stream of clips, the viewer will have no sense of why they were so popular and great.
Overall, while none of these films are really classics, I do think they're better than their reputations. While this isn't a set that's ideal for the new or casual fan, it does have a lot of great moments for the more established fan. It's just too bad it's padded out with three documentaries instead of the rest of their later films that haven't already been released.
A&C with fillers..........2007-05-15
This is a mix of some funny stuff with a few other materials thrown in but not necessarily for good measure. However, that is what the search button on the remote is for. All in all, A&C is classic slapstick...with my favorites being the Jekyl & Hyde and the Mummy sequences. It is something that will give some good laughs to all generations. I wouldn't say this volume is exceptional, but a few selections will give a nice smack on the funny bone.
abbott & costello fan club.......2007-05-13
I am a big fan of them from many years ago, and since we have the dvds (all of them) my kids really enjoy all their movies too, and think they are hilarious. My kids are 11, 9, and 5 and other then the fact that they dont know why its in black and white, they laugh like crazy, and because they are harmless, our whole family can watch them together, which is a rare thing these days.
The Best of Abbott and Costello .......2007-03-13
The DVD plays great and it,s not to bad of a comedy series so all and all like I said it,s okay but I,ve seen better comedy series.

If you're expecting bandaged-wrapped corpses and a lurching Boris Karloff-type villain, then you've come to the wrong movie. But if outrageous effects, a hunky hero, and some hearty laughs are what you're looking for, the 1999 version of The Mummy is spectacularly good fun. Yes, the critics called it "hokey," "cheesy," and "pallid." Well, the critics are unjust. Granted, the plot tends to stray, the acting is a bit of a stretch, and the characters occasionally slip into cliché, but who cares? When that action gets going, hold tight--those two hours just fly by.

Absolutely Phenomenal On HD DVD.......2007-06-28
Everyone knows the plot of the movie and that it was based on the 1940s film, "The Mummy's Hand," so what I'm going to talk about is the HD DVD transfer.
I got my HD DVD player last year and have been thoroughly stoked about it, given the right movie. "The Mummy" is definitely one of those right movies. From the opening credits to the first views of the Egyptian city, the clarity of the high-def presentation rivals that of your local theater. Once a wall-sized monitor becomes available, film buffs are truly going to be able to have the theater experience right in their own homes.
The action sequences are great. The colors are fantastic. And the special effects are tremendous. The dust cloud confrontation at the end just blew me away all over again.
I owned the movie on DVD and had watched it on television a few times (it's one of those on a list of guilty pleasures) but I hadn't seen anything like this presentation outside of the theater.
Now I gotta get "The Mummy Returns" and "The Scorpion King." And I can't wait for "The Mummy 3" coming in 2008!
The Mummy Comes to life again .......2007-05-29
Not as startling as some of the more recent HD transfers. Don't get me wrong it is very good. Bringing life backing to old family favorite. The colors and sound were the most noticeable, mind you the high quality picture was not to be out done either. It was like watching a new movie. Well not quite. But there were a bunch of little things and scenes that went unnoticed before that are front and center in this edition because of the improved sound and picture.
One thing I never noticed before is right after Imhotep's casket fell through the tomb ceiling there is a line through the center of the picture, it disappeared in less than a minute. I doubt this is fault to do with the HD transfer so it was probably on the original print.
One weird thing was the menu. All of the other HD DVDs have graphics from the movie, this one had generic music and the universal logo.
Great Picture. Great Sound. Worth having on HD. Over all 4/5. Bring on Jurassic Park!
Exciting Adventure!.......2007-04-28
An exciting action packed movie with lots of surprises in store for the viewer! There is an abundance of crazy adventures with some romance and comedy thrown in! Pretty much a good movie for all ages and is sure to keep the attention of almost anyone. Set in 1923, a group of archeologists stumble upon a tomb at Hamunaptra, the city of the dead. The main characters of the movie, Rick (Brendan Fraser) and Evie (Rachel Weisz) uncover the mummy of Imhotep, Pharoah Seti's priest and one-time lover of Seti's mistress. Imhotep was cursed and when he gets woken up the results are fatal.
the mummy returns.......2007-03-31
I have enjoyed this movie so much that I also bough it in DVD. It is very entertaining and not a dull moment in the film. Keeps you on your toes with anticipation.
The Mummy.......2007-03-20
Great heroes, great villains, awesome effects. Arnold Vosloo shines, as he has to convey all his thoughts via a foreign language. Great body language, clearly he has the hardest job of all the cast and he pulls it off.

For the first time ever, the original The Mummy film comes to DVD in this extraordinary Legacy Collection. Included in the collection is the original classic, starring the renowned Boris Karloff, and four timeless sequels, featuring legendary action Lon Chaney, Jr. and others. These are the landmark films that inspired an entire genre of movies and continue to be major influences on motion pictures to this day
Customer Reviews:
The Mummy (1932).......2007-06-21
NOTE: This is only a review of the first original film.
Directed by German cinematographer Freund, who lensed Lang's "Metropolis," this eerie, dread-inducing monster movie was a triumph for all involved in the 1932 production, and remains totally absorbing today. Karloff had become a sensation with "Frankenstein" the year before, and his role as Im-Ho-Tep merely solidified the lisping English actor's fame. Bringing pathos and humanity to his portrayal of the undead cleric, Karloff is mesmerizing throughout--especially in an unforgettably horrifying flashback scene--and striking stage actress Johann holds her own as his slinky object of desire. Made by the same team as "Dracula," this brilliant horror flick has aged as well as its titular character.
A great collection.......2007-04-30
I love these old Universal Classic Horror movies, Frankenstein being my number one pick, followed by The Mummy and Creature from the Black Lagoon, but I love them all. The Mummy is a favorite because he was featured in so many movies, some great B-movie material. The Mummy's Hand was a great sequel and probably the most fun. I dont see how anyone can think it was bad. But again I saw that before I did the original mummy when I was six years old. Great stuff people, you will enjoy it.
Not a bad collection.......2007-03-12
This collection of the Legacy Collection "The Mummy" isn't all that bad, but, not all the great either. However, the classics are all here and truly very well package. If you choose to get this set of the Legacy, get it for the "The Mummy" it self. TV channels such as AMC and TMC rarely play it (even when Halloween is around)..so, just get it for that alone all the other Mummy movies are somewhat very good and im a happy with this great collection of movies.
THE FIRST IS STILL THE BEST! KARLOFF IS KING! PIERCE IS THE MASTER.......2007-02-22
The Mummy legacy is a mixed bag. It has the original Karloff classic and some very inferior quasi-sequels. The amount of effort and creativity Jack Pierce used to create the Mummy make up which is only seen for a few seconds is amazing! The best looking Mummy ever! as all of Master Pierce's creations! Even though the other four Mummy movies can be reviewed as silly,I still love them all!
Old original Mummy movies..................2007-01-23
Some horror from the past, great to relive some of the old movies from yester-year, Boris Karloff was great back in the day. Another great flick from the past.

Excellent idea that probably came from the 1950's attempts to put this kind of movie together. However, our era's special effects makes this movie work wonderfully. Story is pretty good. There are some bumps in the telling of the story, but it all evens out. Good action sequences. Some of the characters you wish were smarter, but overall good job. I have watched it several times and will again in the future.
HD IS EXCELLENT!.......2007-05-21
This is a good movie and to add HD makes it even better. The clarity and sound is outstanding. HD is the best thing that has happened to movies in years.
Continuation of The Mummy.......2007-04-28
The sequel to the movie The Mummy. The story is set in 1933, approximately 9 years after the events of the first film. Rick O'Connell is now married to Evelyn and the couple has settled in London, where they are raising their 8-year-old son Alex. The corpse of Imhotep is resurrected in the British Museum, and Imhotep returns to the world again determined to gain immortality. Although, this time another force has also been set loose in the world... a creature of the darkest rituals of ancient Egyptian mysticism, who is even more powerful than Imhotep. When these two forces clash, the fate of the world will hang in the balance, sending the O'Connells on a desperate race to save the world from an unspeakable evil, and rescue their son before it is too late. Overall, I thought that the first movie was better how ever the plot was developed nicely in the second and the continuation of the characters is always a good thing.
HD-DVD shines in The Mummy Returns.......2007-04-03
Like "The Mummy" in HD-DVD, the added depth of color and resolution make this HD-DVD one to own -- and one to show off assuming your HDTV is up to it. The contrasts and colors are spectacular and there is detail everywhere.
Not to mention it's just a fun story -- well told, well acted, well directed and certainly made with more than enough production money. And Brendan Fraser/Rachel Weisz are just so cute.
HD review.......2007-03-08
I liked to see the movie in HighDefinition, good sharp colors.
It was my first HD movie so we will see how the others are.
So far so good.

Proving that bigger is rarely better, The Mummy Returns serves up so much action and so many computer-generated effects that it quickly grows exhausting. In his zeal to establish a lucrative franchise, writer-director Stephen Sommers dispenses with such trivial matters as character development and plot logic, and charges headlong into an almost random buffet of minimum story and maximum mayhem, beginning with a prologue establishing the ominous fate of the Scorpion King (played by World Wrestling Federation star the Rock, in a cameo teaser for his later starring role in--you guessed it--The Scorpion King). Dormant for 5,000 years, under control of the Egyptian god Anubis, the Scorpion King will rise again in 1933, which is where we find The Mummy's returning heroes Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, now married and scouring Egyptian ruins with their 8-year-old son, Alex (Freddie Boath).
Customer Reviews:
Why I don't outright hate this is beyond me.......2007-04-16
Director Stephen Sommers is responsible for some of the more questionable box-office films I've ever seen. Unlike Uwe Boll who has the box office match his talent (read: none), Sommers' films have actually been successful for the most part but right afterwards, people say how awful they were which is kind of funny. Among them is the sequel to the blockbuster hit the Mummy which had good effects but a super bad story but of course the latter is irrevelant if the film made money, hence we have the Mummy Returns where the keyword is "more": more effects, setpieces, characters, and all-around dumbness.
Set 9 years after the last film, Rick and Evelyn have gotten married and have a child named Alex. They get caught up in a rescue mission when Alex is kidnapped since he wears the Bracelet of Anubis, which ties into the Scorpion King, an ancient powerful warrior who's about to be resurrected. Killer of the Scorpion King can command a massive army so people decide to resurrect Ihmotep, our mummy from the first film. And once again, Rick and Evelyn along with Ardeth Bay and Evelyn's brother Jonathan have to once again avert disaster.
It's surprising to see that despite the special effects advancements over the years, the Mummy films have always had way too obvious CG. It has nothing to do with compositing and placing them in the scene that makes them look natural and not just pasted on but there's something off about the effects, like they're too texture-y and light. Nowhere is this more apparent than the Scorpion King himself and I won't spoil it but basically, I've seen Diablo II have better looking characters. However, one advancement that should've got more recognition is the big battle scenes involving thousands of armies. While it's old-hat now thanks to films like Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, Alexander and the Lord of the Rings films, this just looks better to me. The set pieces also don't have the grandiose nature from the first film. A massive tidal wave didn't have the impact of seeing a sandstorm from the last one and it makes this film obviously inferior to the first one.
A film like this doesn't need an in-depth story. It's a summer blockbuster and knows it; you come for the thrills and visuals, not to be riveted by dialogue exchanges and character development. But still, this is kind of a stupid story. A bracelet of something will reveal the location of someone allowing a something to defeat that someone and able to command something is basically the plot and we jump from location to location and have little mini-adventures along the way. There's a sequence involving tiny pygmy mummies (but I call them monkeys) that is not only unintentionally funny but it completely apes off a similar scene in the Lost World: Jurassic Park. Or maybe I'm just complaining too much.
There's not really a lot to recommend here. Most movies have at least something to recommend, whether it's the visuals, the acting, or just the plain strangeness of enjoying something so dumb. I don't completely hate it and why that is is kinda baffling.
TMR.......2007-03-20
If you loved the first offering, you'll love this sequel. Not only does ALL the major cast come back, but they come back well. You get more of everything the first one had to offer. Suspense, comic relief, awe. By the time this one ends, you're almost rooting for Imhotep. The only thing I found lacking was the cee-gee model of "The Rock" as the Scorpion King.
Kinda fun.......2007-03-03
For some reason, I enjoyed this movie more than the first one, perhaps because my expectations had been lowered by the original film. Maybe I was just in the mood to see a lot of things blow up real good. There's not much point describing the plot, because it's only a flimsy skeleton upon which to hang the action sequences, which go on pretty much non-stop from beginning to end. Everything is completely predictable, but it's humorous and moves fast. It's easily the best of the Mummy trilogy (counting "Scorpion King"), but that's not saying much.
UGGGH! Save your money!.......2007-01-10
This is THE WORST movie sequel I have ever seen. It was so terrible that it inspired me to write my first movie review ever on Amazon. Where's my receipt? You might enjoy this flick if you're less than 10 years old AND in possession of a single digit IQ. It's a huge disappointment following the original Mummy flick. I would like to give it a negative star.
How a sequel ought to be done........2006-11-04
This movie is a perfect example of how a sequel ought to be done. We pick up with the same characters--no changes, no retconning, and no disappointing surprises. Sequels like Men in Black II, Ghostbusters II, or Back to the Future II let us down because the sequels do not follow logically from the first movie. With MIB II, we expected to see Agents Jay and Elle paired up, with Agent Kay living happily ever after--no such luck. Then the cameo of Michael Jackson was pure flatulence. And that is just the casting, not the script.
The Mummy Returns avoids all of this. In fact, I was impressed to see Patricia Velasquez reprising her short role of Anck Su Namun. Yes! Same character with the same actress! This show the care and forethought that went into this film. And thought Ben Kingsly was a likeable character and a stellar actor, he was not brought back to life just for ratings. Yum!
I ma impressed how the scriptwriter and the director are able to manage the smaller characters. We instantly connect with young Alex O'Connell or pirate-pilot Izzy Buttons, who replaces the equally charming Captain Havlock from Mummy I. BEST SCENE: the two gremlins fighting over the dynamite stick.
I am also impressed how they kept the "vibe" of the first film. There was no attempt to make the film funny, or more serious, or more horrific. We just see an extrapolation and a continuation of the fun we saw in the first film.
The only flaw is one of the financing. As with most heavy-CGI films, the closer to the end of the move, the worse the special effects get, because the money runs out. I wished that had pulled a George Lucas and redone the effects for DVD release. Since the movie was a hit, the would have recouped their money on the DVD release, TV runs, 10th, 25th, 50th and 75th anniversary re-releases of the movie. Yes, this movie is a good as the Golden Age Classics, or Wizard of Oz.

Very Good DVD to buy.......2006-10-24
I am fan of scooby doo. This is the best scooby doo movie that is ever made. Story, picturization everything is well planned and good
One of the Best.......2006-05-28
Super great Scooby-Doo adventure. It got both my kids interested in ancient Egypt and the pyramids. Great story and a smart script.
Scooby Doo - Still Standing At Chapter 9!.......2006-04-08
When "Scooby Doo On Zombie Island" came out in 1998, I doubt many people thought Scooby Doo would make it up to this 9th movie. Scooby may actually hold the record as far as good sequels go. This may be because there is the gang we all know and love for consistency, but there is a different adventure everytime. No one story is ever just repeated. The original "Star Trek" movies also did very well in this category, but even they only made it up to Chapter 6. If you follow my reviews, you know I think "Zombie Island" (# 1) and "Witch's Ghost" (# 2) were the two best. I didn't much like "Alien Invasion" (# 3) or "Cyber Chase."(# 4) I thought "Legend of the Vampire" (# 5) was really good. "Monster of Mexico" (# 6) was decent at best. "Loch Ness Monster" (# 7) was a decent watch. "Aloha Scooby Doo" (# 8) was surprisingly good. Well, onto chapter 9. It grabs our attention with a flashback of Cleopatra. This is a good technique. For not only does it set the mood, but it allows us some ambiguity. (Is the curse staged? Or is it possibly real?) Well, part of the curse seems real at first. Moving on, Velmah is off doing some work in Egypt with a friend, and of course in a typical Scooby fashion, she is reunited with her gang. After the initial ice breaking, we soon meet the antagonists of this story. (A team of so called archeologists who are really thieves. Yes. The famous Indiana Jones was often thought of as this, but we won't go there.) Well, this gang of thieves basically wants to loot the tomb of Cleopatra. Additional elements of Cleopatra's curse start to come true. (Real or not?) There are several old touches with new twists. Poor Scooby and Shaggy get lost, but in a twist of fate, they find their own fan club. At first we may think this is a silly irrelevant subplot, but in the end we see it certainly isn't. I can't say much more without ruining the movie for you, but even at chapter 9, Scooby gives us enough familiar things and enough new twists. The different subplots of the movie come together surprisingly well, and we are offered a surprise twist ending that will make us want to see the movie again with hindsight. I'll conclude by saing that I seriously doubt that any other series can boast of standing this strong at 9 movies. Scooby Doo, please come back for chapter 10 soon!
Great Scooby Movie for kids and adults.......2006-03-29
When my 3.5 yr old fell in love with Scooby, I decided to rent DVD's instead of buying (after purchasing every Thomas the Tank engine ones, that he no longer will watch...I learned :)
Anyway we rented this one and after having it for a week, we went out the very day we returned it and bought it. The story line is very good and truly I had no idea who the "bad guy" was. The music was good and the special feature rap video is hilarious.
After seeing all the Scooby movies so far, this is the one we just HAD to buy.
Good movie.......2006-03-12
My son likes this Scooby Doo movie. It's kind of scary for young children but older kids will like it.

I basically got what I was looking for.......2007-05-18
If we are to be completely honest about the films we choose to see (more specifically, the reasons/motivations why we rent or buy them), then hopefully there will be less umbrage about production values or acting or writing - if true purpose of watching the movie was to see nude women in mutually erotic situations. Such was the case for selecting this film (as I suspect it is for pretty much anyone else who sees it). I had no high expectations for the acting or writing or directing or lighting or original score composed for its soundtrack, nor did I have any illusions I would be pleasantly surprised by these aspects.
That having been said, I found the movie to be modestly satisfying. There were a lot of attractive women and plenty of nudity to go with them. Christina Nguyen deserves special mention. She is quite lovely, and it is not so often one gets to sees nude curvy Asian women. It is indeed a treat! There was also plenty of girl-girl amorous encounters, although it was not very explicit and tended to resemble more of a twosome tease at a high end strip club. Still, it wasn't too bad (at the least it was better than nothing). Kylie Wyote (as she is called in this movie) did a good job with her erotic interaction with the other women.
As for the production values of this movie, they are rather modest. The locations are most likely chosen for convenience, and there is a good chance the script was tailored to them. The "special effects" will probably get enough harsh criticism that I do not need to add any coments myself. However, I have helped produce many no-budget indie films, and although this one had its limitations, I thought that they managed to get something for their pocket change. The costuming wasn't all that bad (considering). As for the acting and writing... who cares? I didn't think it would be good and didn't really pay that much attention to it, since that isn't why I or (insert your name) watched it. I got what I was looking for. As for how much I would pay to buy it, my advice would be to wait until it's a bargain on eBay or Amazon.com.
AN EROTIC HORROR LOADED WITH BEAUTIFUL BODIES.......2007-04-22
One look at the cover to "The Mummy's Kiss: 2nd Dynasty" should be enough to tell you that this is really more an erotic, softcore film than a horror film...not that there is anything wrong with that, however. The basic plot finds an aging museum curator Dr. Zita Furneaux played by Belinda Gavin, calling on the aid of Egyptian Goddess Nephthys to help restore her youth. She uses an amulet to control a mummy, which she uses to go out and kidnap beautiful women in order to steal their "kah" or life essence.
Basically she steals their "kah" by making love to them which climaxes (excuse the pun) in a white flash of light...the mummy's kiss...Each time she does this, she becomes more beautiful and youthful and as an added bonus, the women become her submissive love slaves. Great work if you can get it!
Gorgeous Christine Nguyen is reporter Elyse Lam who is investigating the disappearance of the women but cannot convince her skeptical editor Jack about the supernatural elements. Soon Elyse falls into the clutches of Dr. Furneaux herself.
Surprisingly, for such a low budget offering the film's technical assets are quite good. This should be no surprise since the film was written and directed by the legendary Don Glut who has been making films for over 50 years! Few directors know how to get as much out of so little as Glut does. The real attraction here are the stunning ladies that include Stacy Burke, Cindy Pucci, Lorielle New, Alisa Robinson, and twins Tanya & Tyler Starr. Glut's sexual scenes are very steamy and erotic and there was great camera work throughout the film. The meager horror elements are a mere backdrop to scads of nude women in sexy situations and I can't find much fault in that!
The performances won't garner any Oscar nominations but they are steady and capable, perhaps more capable than it has a right to be...that comes from enjoying the production and it certainly looks like all of the cast members had a good time with the film.
Extra features on the DVD include photo galleries, a making of featurette, and commentary by Glut who is simply a joy to listen to because he is so passionate about making films no matter what his budget may be.

Okay, But Not As Good As Part One.......2007-02-25
The sequel to Mummy's kiss had too much corny plots and very stupid characters. The only upside is the lesbian sex scenes. Unless you are buying it for the love scenes, don't. :(
So-so scary movie, but enjoyably erotic in parts!.......2006-12-16
Basically, this one was silly as a horror flick, but surpsisingly pretty decent as erotica. The best scene involved the museum curator, Dr. Zita Furneaux (played by Belinda Gavins), right after she's sent her mummy to kidnap pretty blonde Susan (played by Stacy Burke). She hypnotizes the captive girl and then proceeds to seduce her. It was an excellent scene, with an older, dominant woman thoroughly enjoying the lovely body of a beautiful younger woman! Very nice! She kidnaps a couple of other pretty girls, as well, but that first encounter with Stacy Burke was by far the best! I kind of forget what happenes after that.
I want my Mummy.......2006-12-09
I was going to say that this reminded me of a Fred Olen Ray film and then noticed in the credits that there were thanks credited to him. So if you like his type of movies this is pretty good but with more female frontal nudity than in his films especially the lovely Christine Nguyen she plays the reporter of a low brow tabloid.]
Nothing here to stretch the old grey matter but is an enjoyable b.movie with decent production values with extras to boot.
