A classical monster reunion.......2007-06-25
All the greats, Dracula, Frankenstein, Werewolve, even Jecke & Hyde make an appearance in this film. The movie is dark and sometimes the plot seems a little thing, or the director introduced something but never returned to it. The movie is good basic entertainment, if you are looking for a high-grade movie or classic, you should probably look elsewhere. This was great for entertainment, but I didn't add it to my library.
Dracula, Frankenstein, Werewolf, Oh My!.......2007-06-14
A great idea... that has a little too many monsters to track. The movie is filled with lots of characters, maybe too many. But Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale make a good team! The fight seen at the end is a dizzying visual feast! I liked it, but others got a headache! A good movie, definetly worth a viewing! Recommend renting first to ensure it is to your taste before you buy.
HOLY CRAP!.......2007-06-13
The picture is gosh darn amazing... very friggin' detail and colors... I love the opening part... Black and White. It's very surreal looking and so detail for black and white. And the special effect are amazing for its time and still do good for now. I forgot how violence this film are for a PG-13 film, its should be PG-15... anyway, HD-DVD is indeed amazing HD format out right now!
Van Hell Stink.......2007-06-08
Absolutely ghastly. So bad - if I were a werewolf - I'd be hacking hairballs for days on end. I wanted to like this movie - I really did - because I think Hugh Jackman is a wonderful actor - but even Jackman - talented as he is - can't save this mess. It looks like the director was writing the script as he went - throwing ever black and white monster movie, and Hammer House of Horror flick, at the wall just to see what would stick. Thus you have a convoluted plot involving Dracula, Werewolves and even Dr. Frankenstein's monster.
Some movies take a while to get going - I knew this one was going to stink up the joint within the first ten minutes - and I'm probably being generous there. This movie never gets going. There are idiotic plot lines involving Dracula getting it on with his undead brides - is anybody gagging yet. The undead brides look like a trio of jiggle queens - B rated porn stars who look like they are ready for a slumber party - and none of them can act - and really - Dracula and his brides making babies? So what, even undead women have biological clocks ticking away now? If I was Dracula's bride - I can think of much more entertaining ways to spend my immortality - than being pregnant with his undead kid.
So we see Van Helstink channeling Indiana Jones, swinging from ropes and crashing through windows. This movie is unintentionally funny - and even then not in a good way. Then he gets bit by a werewolf and we get to watch him morph- and even this was a collosal disappointment. Instead of employing make up, special effects, etc. and actually creating a realistic werewolf - they just used computers and puked up a CGI fight between an animated werewolf and an animated flying, dracula batlike - whatever. By the time the big smackdown between VanHelstink and Dracula was ready to begin I had completely zoned out of this movie.
The only reason I even stuck around for the end was because I had already wasted the money - thank god it was at least matinee prices or else I would have really been disgusted. So the only thrill I got - all two seconds of it - was watching Hugh Jackman rip his shirt off and I like shirtless Hugh. Save your money - do not rent this, do not buy it. And the guy who wrote the script probably deserves a silver bullet AND a stake through the heart to make sure they never produce anything this bad again.
Excellent story.......2007-05-18
You will love this one! I think the story will keep anyone on their toes.
It's a hot movie! I love the werewolf and the vampires! Just great! Everyone should own this one.....great fantasy, very tasteful!

Customer Reviews:
The culmination of the Vampire Seduction Trilogy; a sure winner.......2007-05-06
The Sexy Adventures of Van Helsing;is the Culmination of the Seduction Cinema series of Van Helsing's attempts to Kill Dracoola; the daughter of Dracula; which started in the great flick ; Vampire Seduction; and again in Vampire Vixens; In Vampire Seduction, Tina Krause played Dracoola and told Wally Van Helsing to bring her Lesbians,, alot of Lesbians,, Wally never did;all he brought Dracoola was a Garlic sandwich to her demise; then in the sequel: Vampire Vixens; , Wally Van Helsing gives Dracoola played again by Tina Krause, a steak sandwich which again ends her reign of terror seeking Lesbian lovers for her harem of lovers,.. and Finally in The Sexy Adventures of Van Helsing, Wilhelmina Van Helsing the Great Great Granddaughter of the legendary Van Helsing ,, brings 4 lesbian lovers to the lair of Dracoola,, played by the voluptous sexy Vixen, Darian Caine ,,, and in the end gives Dracoola a pepperoni pizza laden with heavy garlic ,, but it only stuns her, because we see her again talking to Wilhelmina's Great uncle Van Helsing, than teases her saying that her curse will be having to be horny throughout eternity,, for being duped by another Van Helsing.
This 3rd part, of the Van Helsing trilogy, which some says is just a rewrite of Vampire Seduction; is better named the 3rd part in the Sequel because Finally a Van Helsing family decendant managed to bring the Lesbians to Countess Dracoola...

good servic bad movie.......2006-07-27
good servic bad movie. This wasthe worst VAmp.movie i have ever seen. There was know plot or very little of one .The ending was the chessest i have ever seen .The pun is intended .
The company was great to deal with .The product came quikey.
the movie didn't live up to the name.......2005-10-15
I got it expecting better sex senes than the women hugging and killing.
Don't get me wrong, the whole movie is based on the idea that this desendant of a vampire slayer is a lesbian. that was interesting. The other women in the movie were Ok; I mean they are average pretty women that you'd see at the grocery store, but they are lezbians.
This has the makings of a good movie, but the women never do anything with each other besides kiss, and rub their breasts, legs, and stmacs.
The movie laft me feeling like I got ripped off, but maybe you'll think better about the movie than I did.
I
<3 boobs.......2005-10-08
When I think of Van Helsing, I think of BOOBS!!!!! Vampire Boobs!!!! This cinematic triumph comes from the same director as Gladiator Eroticus, and Playmate of the Apes, so when I rented it from my local video store, I knew I was in for something special! There were girls, and they were fighting fighting NAKED! I highly recommend that you watch this film.
THE FACE OF CINEMA WOULD NOT BE THE SAME, WITHOUT THE SEXY ADVENTURES OF VAN HELSING!!!!!
2 entertaining comedies.......2004-10-26
No, this is not a direct spoof of van helsing with hugh jackman.
This is actually a remake of seduction cinemas late 90's film Vampire Seduction. Both films are featured on the dvd so nobody is left out of the loop. Both films have their own charms. The remake has lovely Erika Smith playing a sexually confused nerd, who is visited by her dead uncle to kill countess dracula. The production value is low budget but still decent enough to watch.
The original has John P. fedele in the van helsing roll acting as a total goofball. His performance is the saving grace of the film. The no budget production hinders the film, but still gives it a sense of astheitic identity.
There's also some cool features like behind the scenes documentary, deleted scenes, and commentary from EI president Michael Raso which at some times sounds like a confessional.

Like a roller coaster ready to fly off its rails, Van Helsing rockets to maximum velocity and never slows down. Having earned blockbuster clout with The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, writer-director Stephen Sommers once again plunders Universal's monster vault and pulls out all the stops for this mammoth $148-million action-adventure-horror-comedy, which opens (sans credits) with a terrific black-and-white prologue that pays homage to the Universal horror classics that inspired it. The plot pits legendary vampire hunter Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman) against Dracula (the deliciously campy Richard Roxburgh), his deadly blood-sucking brides, and the Wolfman (Will Kemp) in a two-hour parade of outstanding special effects (980 in all) that turn Sommers' juvenile plot into a triple-overtime bonus for CGI animators. In alliance with a Transylvanian princess (Kate Beckinsale) and the Frankenstein monster (Shuler Hensley), Van Helsing must prevent Dracula from hatching his bat-winged progeny, and there's so much good-humored action that you're guaranteed to be thrilled and exhausted by the time the 10-minute end-credits roll. It's loud, obnoxious, filled with revisionist horror folklore, and aimed at addicted gamers and eight-year-olds, but this colossal monster mash (including Mr. Hyde, just for kicks) will never, ever bore you. A sequel is virtually guaranteed. --Jeff Shannon

Fun and Fast Paced.......2004-09-22
This movie has amazing special effects and borrows from a lot of the action movie directing that is currently in vogue. Jackman is very likable as a monster hunter hired by the church to eliminate all supernatural creatures and some man-made (Mr. Hyde, Frankenstein's monster).
After disposing of a giant Mr. Hyde in London, Jackman is sent to Transylvania to battle the evil Count Dracula. There he meets up with a beautiful vampire slayer who is also after Dracula for turning her brother into a werewolf. However, she is reluctant to go after him because the townspeople are content to keep status quo with Dracula. Dracula and his vampire wives periodically feed on the townfolk to satisfy their urges as long as the townfolk don't hunt them. Any actions by the townfolk against the vampires would result in terrible retribution.
Van Helsing battles Dracula's wives who swoop and dart through the air around the town while Van Helsing is shooting a "machine gun" type bow and arrow. The special effects of these scenes are amazing.
Later, Van Helsing does battle with Dracula with the help of a werewolf and the Frankenstein monster.
We later learn that Dracula can only be killed in one way (that way is revealed late in the movie) but that way is super risky. Meanwhile Dracula is unleashing a plan to launch a vampire army to take over the world. It is up to Van Helsing, his beautiful slayer, and Frankenstein to defeat him and time is running out.
A fun ride to the end.
Well, I liked it.........2004-08-03
Hmm..I'm not quite sure why no one really liked this movie. I loved it! I thought the acting was pretty good...and at some points, there were some amusing parts.
This movie sucked........2004-07-21
This movie was so boring. I thought at least it would entertain me but it was just crap. A movie about a guy who goes around hunting monsters should, if even done somewhat well, be one of my favorites so that says quite a bit. I gave it one star because what's her face is pretty hot but other than that I hate this movie.
dont buy.......2004-07-16
I was worried about this movie from the beginning. I like Hugh Jackman but this movie hopefully wont dent his career. The story was abysmal. It was too thread bare and had too many things that were trying to be part of the story. If the writer had used only the vampires it might have been ok.
I have a belief that special effects should enhance a movie(like the lord of the Rings) but not overpower it. Money should have been saved on special effects to have a real writer do the story.
The guy playing the vampire was awful. You think with the budget someone could have hired a real actor.
Anyway if you must see this rent it.
Ugh!!!.......2004-07-13
A very good cast is wasted in this ridiculous mess of a movie. While the production values are great, and the story is actually terrific, the outcome is horrible. Incredibly amateurish dialogue and overuse of CGI ruin what could have been a great film. This was originally planned as a sequel to Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula, with Anthony Hopkins set to reprise his role of Van Helsing. Perhaps some of the quality of that original film would have benefited this absolutely pathetic attempt. Entertaining because of how bad it is, but truly forgettable. The audience was laughing for all the wrong reasons and that's never a good sign. One star for the plot, and another star for the casting.

Van Helsing: The London Assignment is a wild and clever animated prequel, slightly more than a half-hour, to the live-action hit film about 19th-century monster hunter Dr. Gabriel Van Helsing. Set just before actor Hugh Jackman's dark hero heads off for battle with Count Dracula in Eastern Europe, The London Assignment finds Van Helsing attempting to stop Dr. Jekyll, and the latter's terrifying associate, Mr. Hyde, from their bizarre and bloody quest to turn septuagenarian Queen Victoria into a lovelorn girl again. While the widescreen artistry is often brutal, it is also breathtaking, especially in a fantastic chase sequence involving train cars. Besides Jackman, several actors from the feature lend voices to their cartoon counterparts, including Robbie Coltrane (as Hyde), Alun Armstrong (as Cardinal Jinette), and David Wenhman (as sidekick Carl). Special features include an incisive interview with Jackman about his character. --Tom Keogh
Description

A New Opening.......2007-01-10
The Van Helsing movie opens with Van Helsing in a final battle with Mr. Hyde in Paris. This short animated adventure tells you how he got to that point. Van Helsing and Carl travel to London to investigate some sinister killings of young prostitutes. But the chase leads to far more complex plots than just the killing on young women.
Van Helsing gets tied up in a plot that involved Dr. Jekyll who is physician to Queen Victoria. The not-so-good doctor is obsessed with the Queen and has devised a plot to further his own ends with her. As we know from the full-length movie, Mr. Hyde manages to get to Paris. I won't reveal who the battles progress or the details of the plot but I found it to be rather entertaining. Other than Mr. Hyde being huge (taken from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) unlike in Stevenson's book where Hyde is smaller than Jekyll, the story doesn't twist his tale as much as that of Dracula in the longer feature.
The animation is clean and the voices are true (Hugh Jackman and others from the feature film). If you enjoyed the feature film then you are sure to enjoy this one as it is very true to the movie (other than Carl being in the field). Check it out.
Van Helsing.......2006-08-17
I rate this cartoon movie at three stars, but the documentary is worthy of 5 stars. Its actually worth the price just for the documentary. Its basically a great making of feature about the 2004 Van Helsing film.
good.......2005-11-16
This movie is reasonably good. It's something to watch when you're bored but don't want to sit through a long, gritty movie. The London Assignment is short, sweet, and packs quite a bit into it.
"Van-Fluff", the perfect way to describe it........2005-09-04
This over all prequel to motion picture is just an overblown fluff piece that could have been saved or perhaps will show up on the eventual DVD release of Van Helsing.
The animation feature is nicely done and the sound is great. The supliments are more or less a kind of press junket for te feature film follow-up.
At only a half-hour running time, you wish it was at least 80 mins. Hugh Jackman and the cast provide voice talent to bring this 'teaser' to life.
Rating: 3 1/2 stars out of 5
Even Worse Than The Movie.......2005-05-27
Well, they did it with the Riddick series and it succeded, so I guess Universal decided it would work for Van Helsing as well. This is one of the hugest pieces of crap I've ever seen make it to DVD. Everything about it including the music and voices make it seem like some episode of a boring Saturday morning cartoon. From the first minute of it I was wishing for it to be over, and when it was I was happier than ever. If you didn't like the movie you'll probably hate this, likewise if you didn't like this but haven't seen the movie I doubt you'll like it either. If you liked the movie and haven't seen this I can't guarantee you'll like this short. Universal Studios have never sank so low in the history of their moviemaking.
