Even professionals start off as amateurs.......2004-10-27

I see a few very harsh reviews of Short Cut Road and I remember what my mom used to tell me about not throwing stones. So I won't. This isn't a good film by any stretch of the imagination and having the director's friends write raving reviews only looks pathetic but that doesn't mean that this below-average production doesn't have its good points. It does show that anyone can make a movie even with no directorial talent, no decent actors and no original story to tell. It's kind of like the old Andy Hardy movies when someone says, "Let's put on a show." It's like this director said the same thing, saved up 500 bucks and starting aiming his camera at his friends and eventually some kind hearted distributor got him a dvd release. What it goes to show is that anybody out there can still make a movie. All we customers ask is that the next person who tries it is someone with a little more talent. For learning purposes only (as in "what not to do"), watch Short Cut Road if you get the chance. But don't waste any money buying it.

New cult favorite!.......2004-02-26

Lets go guys....come with me down "my road" of awesome tales about a story of lifelong friends that embark on a funfilled roadtrip....but like a date with your Aunt Edna's bingo partner....it suddenly turns into the weekend from hell!!!
This great story brings out the best of what cult horror classics of the past, used to convey....but somewhere got lost with todays generation of moviemakers, who decided to take their own "short cut" to selling out!
I wont give away the story...or the surprises, but invite your lights over, turn down the beer and crack open the girls and watch and listen carefully,.... hear that? ....."ch-ch-ch-ch-----ah-ah-ah-ah"... that my friend......is the joyfully frightening sound of a winner!!
Cant wait for the sequel!!

I was very impressed with the quality of the movie. I give the Director, Marc Selz, alot of credit for making this movie. People do not realize the time, effort and support that it takes to make a movie. I hope to see more movies from this Director. Hollywood, Watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy crap!.......2004-01-28

The words do not exist to describe the awfulness of this drek. I borrowed a copy from my friend, who told me it was a horrific movie, and he didn't disappoint. This is one of those great party movies where you all gather 'round and hurl insults at the DVD and have a grand old time. So, I guess that's one redeeming factor. Acting is amateurish, staging is puerile, and direction is non-existent. Do yourself a favor and buy a CITIZEN KANE -- to send to the filmmakers.

Stunningly awful.......2003-12-24

I give this movie one star because there's no "zero stars" option. It looks as if they took a handicam and shot an after-school project. It blows my mind that this thing got an actual release with the sub-par acting, god-awful dialogue, and below average editing. Not a bad movie per se, if you're just out of high school and looking for something to do in your spare time. But an actual DVD release? Holy crap! Emphasis on crap. Save yourselves and avoid this turkey like the plague!
