These are very funny episodes, The Scary Chimera plan is my favorite. The other episodes are great as well, but the jokes are kind of old like you have seen them from aomewhere else. Like always, the music is great, but then again, I LOVE Slayers music.

Belly stuffing, bandit killing, and a smartass.......2006-09-01

Lina Inverse you could say is one of the characters specifically made to poke fun of the fantasy anime genre. She and her usual cast of characters often downsize and destroy the often cliche` characters and plotlines and pour salt on the wound by laughing in their faces. The sense of humor often associated with Slayers is a definately unique kind. While it does use a lot of the similar tools of the trade, it has a less annoying approach verbally. While you have the occasional sweat drop, Lina actually takes the sweat drop and will beat someone over the head with it. I'm sure you could find this anime very entertaining.

For those of you who are fairly well caught up with the Slayers universe and have yet to see this, this is a series of OVA episodes specifically made to illustrate the relationship between Lina and Naga. The adventures of Lina and Naga take place before the adventures in the original Slayers TV series. The animation is definately above grade quality as well as the well paced directing and more than fitting voice acting. I am sure everyone will find this an amusing work of fantasy/comedy.

A collection of Lina and Nahga's earlier adventures........2005-02-28

Five years before SLAYERS RETURN, GREAT, GORGEOUS, EXCELLENT and PREMIUM, the folks at ADV released the origonal SLAYERS motion picture and these three OAVs.

In THE SCARY CHIMERA PLAN, Lina is approached by a mad wizard/ alchemist, who wants to create the ultimate chimera (beast made from different parts of other animals,) using Lina herself in combination with a few other creatures. Of course, Lina will have nothing to do with it. Nahga shows up and after finding out about the plan, thinks it's a great idea. Lina leaves. The wizard takes the hairs left by Nahga and creats ten Nahga clones (in a plot device that was also used in the first SLAYERS T.V. series) and after tracking Lina down uses the power of the Nahga's laughter to subdue her. After finding the origonal Nahga, she gets the clones on her side, then they become Lina's unlikely rescuers. This episode is as funny as a SLAYERS episode should be, but be warned, the part where Nahga and her clones go rampaging through the castle where Lina is being held is REALLY hard to sit through, as the Nahga's spend about five minutes straight laughing non-stop. You may be tempted to mute or fast-forward through this scene. Of course, other characters in SLAYERS comment on how terrifying her laugh is, so this chapter seems made to demonstrate how true that is.

The next episode, JEFFERY'S KNIGHTHOOD, is better, mainly because we Nahga's bursts of laughter are much shorter here. Lina and Nahga are hired by a woman (who may well be one of the most hideous crones in all of anime,) to help her son Jeffery become a man. Jeffery, as it turns out, is weak, wimpy, and pretty inept at just about everything. However, anytime anyone says anything bad about him, his mom (who, ugly as she is, turns out to be a pretty powerful sorceress,) shows up out of nowhere wearing a mask and pounds the offender. She then says she's just a stranger passing through. Lina and Nahga both figure out right away it's his mom, but Jeffery never recognizes her and thinks it's always been complete strangers who show up to clobber any one who's ever insulted him. Lina and Nahga's job are to lead Jeffery to a group of actors disguised as bandits so Jeffery can beat them as a way of boosting his self-confidence, as he doesn't know about this plan. However, a group of real bandits show up and kidnap the actors! Again, lots of funny moments, particularly when we meet Jeffery (voiced in the dub by Brett Weaver, who also did Migel in RUIN EXPLORES and Damu Ramu in DRAGON HALF).

The third episode, MIRROR MIRROR, is without question the best of the three. Lina and Nahga are hired by a sorcerors guild to recover an ancient artifact stolen by one of their own members, Laugden. The mirror was created by one of the old, powerful wizards, and is rumored to be able to create a shadow copy of whoever it reflects, with all the same abilities of the origonal but with the exact opposite personality, and who serve whoever weilds the mirror. Lina and Nahga have been hired to bring both the mirror and Laugden back to the sorceror's guild, but they'll also have to contend with an army of wherewolves Laugden has allied himself with. The best part of the episode comes when they find Laugden and he uses the mirror on them! Of course, it does create shadow copies of Lina and Nahga, but something eles unexpected happens...

All in all, a must-have for SLAYERS fans, one to own.

Craftwise Candle magick 1 dvd covers the basics for candle magick for example annoiting the candle, writing your intention on the candle etc. Only 3 short simple basic spells was offer healing, job and money. The dvd was very short and a lot of talking. If you an experience practicioner I won't recommended. If you just starting to practice candle magick then this dvd is the one for you.

In "Mirror, Mirror," the enchanted looking glass of a fabled sorcerer backfires on a would-be thief: it produces versions of Lina and Naga that are mirror images of them psychologically--cute, cowering, and helpful. Check out the series before this if your interested in Slayers.......2007-04-16

Slayers has become one of my favorite series. However the movies and these episodes aren't all that great to me. Naga is a cool character a little bit but she's good in small doses. That damn laugh gets annoying very fast. Right off the back I dont like the fact the characters from the series doesn't even make an appearance. This short collection has 3 decent episodes. Mostly comedy, some action and the stories are alright at best.

Episode 1) The scary Chimera plan. This just so happens to be my least favorite episode of Slayers altogether including the movies. Some sorcerer wants to use Lina for an experiment which she wants no part of. Later on for some reason he clones Naga 10x. The Naga clan to include the original laughs together almost the entire episode. If you do not like Naga's laugh, then this episode can be a short nightmare. This is a 2.5/5 to me.

Episode 2) Jeffrey's Knighthood. Lina and Naga are hired to train some bumbling idiot kid into a knight. This episode is mostly comedy and just when it starts to get serious the silliness returns. Which is ok but it soon gets repetitive. Still the dialogue and the development will have you laughing a bit. This is a 3/5 to me.

Episode 3) Mirror, Mirror. This episode Lina and Naga are hired by a society to bring back a sorcerer who stole information about a magical mirror. It has a pretty good plot but if you pay close attention you can figure out what may happen at some point. This is the best of the 3 to me. I give this a 3.5/5.

This collection isn't all that great to me. After watching all the movies and the complete series. This was a huge step in another direction to me. I'm not saying this collection is bad. Its just that, next to the overall development and memorable characters of the series. This is just a step down and I expected the same level of greatness or at least close to it.

The DVD itself has a few adv trailers, language change, and some of the original trailers for Slayers. Like I said before, if your interested in Slayers, checkout the series first. That is a great place to start. I recommend checking this out last.

Naga.....Tone it down a bit.......2004-01-12

I love this series. And I have a strange affinity for Naga....Hmmm.. I wonder what it could be. I love how Lina calls Naga the "Bondage Queen of Darkness". Also that outfit of hers....My god... The only thing I can't stand is that ridiculous laugh of hers. It drives me mad.. But still, it's a very funny anime. You really should see it if you enjoy animes, or comedy...or both

Cute, but a little odd.......2001-07-29

I enjoyed this DVD, especially the last episode entitled Mirror, Mirror.

If you are a Slayers fan, you might be a little put off by this series at first, and if you don't like Naga's laugh, then I warn you NOT to watch the first episode.

Still it was amusing, althought I did find Jefferies Knighthood to be comical, it was kind of cliche at times.

Slayers Special.......2001-05-05

These three episodes were from the novel Slayers Special, and were originally named Slayers Special 1,2,3. The plots is not related to the Slayers, Slayers Next and Slayers Try TV series (TV series were from the original Slayers novel, not the Slayers SP novel).

Compared to the TV series, episodes in this disk (and the movies) are more funny, short and have less of conspiracies. You'll see their funny acts all the time in this disk, and the castings are wonderful. It show you the full potential of what Lina and Naga are capable in their day-to-day works (what a life!)

If there is anything disatisfy me in these episodes, it's the length. If will certainly make you want to see more episodes like these, but this is all what have with Slayers Special (Books of Spells) now and they're short episodes - but they're good.

One more thing, they share the same ED song - but this song, by Hayashibara Megumi / Lina Inverse - is exceptionally good.

Slayers at its best.......2001-04-08

This is truly Slayers at its best. This DVD contains all 3 episodes of the the Slayers Special OAV. Full of homour and action, this DVD is a must have for all Slayers fans everywhere. The original and unique slap-stick humour found in everything Slayers is pulled to it's full extent in this truly hilarious piece of anime art. This 3-part OAV takes place before the original slayers series. As opposed to the usual Slayers group, Lina's only companion is Naga- quite possibly the funniest (and at times the most annoying) anime character ever. With Naga's annoying laugh and Lina's un-stopable hunger, This dynamic duo gets into many adventures! Take my advise and buy this DVD, you wont regret it.

There is a dash, a swing to the title of this Reginald Denny film which spells romance and adventure. While it isn't of the high caliber of "Oh, Doctor" and "I'll Show You the Town," there is enough sparkle to carry it by. Perhaps you'll be reminded of Wally Reid's auto stories with this entry. It's cut by the same author from an identical pattern. The scapegrace son loses his sweetheart when he cuts up a few devilish didoes. The promise of the title is not kept entirely. There are places when it loses its speed, but, all things considered, it keeps to the road and finishes on high. The star and Gertrude Olmsted take care of the romance, and John Steppling and Fred Esmelton take care of the parental argument.

What a Blessing!.......2005-06-15

I have to say, I have read MANY books, and not found the information provided in this class setting DVD. Peter teaches the class so well that you feel like you are actually there! Having said that, the information he provides is in a well thought out order. Peter reminds us that we don't have to buy fancy stones or rocks to be effective, and that what we find in nature is more valuable to us. Using his techniques and advice you will go you far. His ethical stance and honesty about the use of these items, and the combination of mixing them, and using oils and crystals in your spell work is down to earth and refreshing. I can't wait to put it all to good use! He has opened the door for you, you only need to walk through it. Thank you for a much needed class on such a wonderful subject.

I highly recommend this DVD for anyone serious about learning Herb Magic. I have not found the information shared in this DVD in any book I have read. The spells Peter demonstrates can be used in many ways, and he provides excellent ideas to help you develop your own style. I am very excited to make them part of my own spell library.
I can not say enough about the class environment you experience while watching the DVD, the world fades away, and you feel like you are actually there. Thank you Peter!

Twisted Spells and Wicked Tales..............2006-07-04

This is another brilliant collection the TV series, The Hunger. This collection of epsiodes is a bit different. Let's just say that these are defantly very twisted tales.

1. The first one is about a cheating husband named Max, who is cheating on his wife. But, his wife goes out of town and arranges to have the carpet cleaned, by a very sexy carpet cleaner. Who offers, her own unique method of cleaning called "the Suction Method" . Max is tempted to cheat with her and learns a very painful lesson.

2. The second one is about a servent of an elderly princess, who must find his replacement. Before he dies, however the replacement is not quite what either of them expects.

3. The third one is about a young dancer, who is tormented by her tragic past. But, she is also haunted by a ghost of a killer who just wants more than to protect her.

4. The fourth one is about a very strange looking Cupid, who plays matchmaker for a couple. But, when some time has pass and Cupid returns. He finds his perfect couple invovled in torrid affairs and decides to make them pay for their sins.

These are truly some wicked tales!!!! You will like this collection of epsiodes from the Hunger!!!

Tales of Twisted Devotion.......2004-03-09

This is a collection of four tales from the Showtime cable series The Hunger. Although the package says "with Terrence Stamp" it is David Bowie who introduces these four tales of twisted devotion.

The Suction Method has a cheating husband contemplating cheating with the woman his wife hired to clean his carpet using the suction method.

Nunc Dimittis has David Warner as a servant to a princess. He knows he is dying and must find a replacement to serve his princess and she is not what one expects.

Dream Sentinel has a tormented stripper amicably haunted by a jealous ghost. The ending of this one is open to a lot of interpretation.

The Perfect Couple has cupid (looking like a young Anthony Perkins) bring two people together. But as we see them years later we have to wonder what Cupids game really is.

Best purchase I ever made........2006-10-06

Get rich quick spells has a little of everything from blessing your car, amulets and sacred objects. Money spells and charms. Mr. Oribello explains how to use your energy and wisdom using the blessing of God to achieve your desires. I found the dvd to be long, informative and I love it. The quantity of spells and explanations was great. At the end Mr. Oribello introduces his daughter and they both meditate together. It was kind of sad unfortunately Mr. Oribello is no longer on this earth. The dvd look like a homemade video but I'm not complaining. I recommended. You won't be disappointed.

Making Magic Money Made Easy.......2004-03-27

The late teacher and lecturer William Alexander Oribello had a truly encyclopedic knowledge of the various herbs, minerals, potions and oils used down through the ages to heal and bring blessings for those who use them correctly. Oribello also managed to make connections between the various spells with the prophets and saints of the Bible, explaining that the herbs and oils, etc., used have no innate power in themselves, but are rather to be considered "points of contact" through which one stimulates the forces of the God who created us to come into our lives for the sake of helping us deal with everyday problems and concerns.

This 90-minute lecture, entitled "Get Rich Quick Spells," contains a wealth of interesting methods to not only bring money blessings our way, but also to aid in romance as well as in numerous forms of spiritual growth. Oribello demonstrates patiently and methodically, in step-by-step, easy to follow directions, how to harness the power of God by channeling it through ceremonies that involve the careful utilization of the numerous aforementioned herbs, minerals and oils.

While there are many who feel that such occult practices are demonic in nature, Oribello assures his audience that what "occult" really means is "hidden knowledge," and he often invokes the names of Moses and Jesus in making his points. He also illustrates a modern kind of "magic" that is taken for granted. The more expensive perfumes, he says, the kinds costing, say, two hundred dollars an ounce, bring such a high price because they very effectively stimulate the unconscious mind of members of the opposite sex and exert a strong attractive force, thus functioning as a love potion of sorts, what you might call "perfume magic." We are all aware of this on some level, although we never assign anything deeply mysterious to it. Oribello instructs viewers on numerous rituals to be performed as part of the overall magical process. We learn how to first exorcise and then bless salt, which is used for moneymaking spells as well as love spells. The blessing of oil and the burning of certain herbs are explained in detail, in terms of the symbolism involved in each and every step, as well as the practical recipes required to bring the desired results.

Oribello lectures in a clear and level-headed way, and the basic format of the DVD is simple and unpretentious. We see Oribello seated on a couch as he carefully prepares the spells and potions, and there are close-ups of the various herbs and oils and other trappings of the process so that viewers who want to try it for themselves can easily follow the directions at home.

As Oribello explains, the power made manifest through these various forms of nature was intended by God for use by humans. God wishes us to be happy and healthy, and has thus made the means for doing so easily available in creation for those who know where to look and how to make good use of that knowledge without attempting to control or otherwise misuse their fellow man. Like everything else in life, occult magic can be put to both good and evil uses.

Excellent Source of Information.......2006-06-30

This is a great CD for those who are interested in learning the Traditional Arts. Peter captures a "classroom atmosphere" that is engaging and makes you feel as though you were there during it's taping. Between his witty sense of humor and extensive Craft knowledge, you will leave the experience with a richer understandng of some basic cord magic principles, and the lore that is associated with it. It is a must for Solitarites new to the Path, but I also recommend it for group use.

Roadblocks.......2006-12-08

The story continues to evolve as the Beast Princess sets out with her new weapon, looking for a fight, with Pacifica and her siblings forced to come along for the ride. This brings about a violent counterattack from Pacifica's homeland, leaving our heros scattered and Pacifica without her memory.
This story is just a heckuva lot of fun to watch, and you never quite know what's going to happen next. I enjoy the fact that so much character development occurs here, even amoung what you would think were simple supporting characters. There is just so much to like about this storyline and I recommend it very highly.

The Best Anime Ever !! ^_^.......2006-09-22

After following the Casull family through three volumes (12 episodes), the fourth volume is a must see DVD. Scrapped Princess is definitely the best anime I have ever seen!!

In volume IV, the main characters discover the detailed truth about the meaning of the "Scrapped Princess." After learning the truth, Shannon, the main male character, continues to distrust the motives behind their journey.
The delimma between protecting an innocent girl or saving the world continues in this volume.

The English voice cast is wonderful. Sometimes they performed better than the Japanese voice cast. The animation and action is a lot better than the third volume. This anime series just keeps getting better and better!!

Shannon Casull is my favorite character in Scrapped Princess because I identify with him the most throughout their struggles along their journey. I am definitely proud to display this figurine for all to see!! This is a must buy figurine to add to your collection =)
