Amazon.com
This black and white horror movie, filmed in California but with dialogue in Esperanto, is unlike anything you've ever seen. Incubus inverts the usual moral battle of a good person tempted by evil. When a headstrong, blond, young succubus named Kia (Allyson Ames) becomes bored with luring the corrupt and sinful to their ultimate demise, she decides she's going to tackle a truly good man (in the form of a very young William Shatner, of all people). An older, wiser succubus warns Kia that the good have an uncanny power called love, but Kia recklessly dives in, confident in her seductive powers--until she finds herself spiritually defiled by goodness and must summon an incubus (Milos Milos) to enact revenge. The pacing is slow but eerily effective, as are the stark cinematography and low-budget effects. Shatner's intonations are just as distinctive in Esperanto as in English, but that only adds to the movie's overall stylization. Incubus shares a kinship with Carnival of Souls, another low-budget black and white horror film that has more going on than buckets of gore. Though Incubus would seem to be heavily influenced by Ingmar Bergman, director Leslie Stevens has said he was more affected by Japanese samurai films. A strikingly unique and beautifully creepy film. --Bret Fetzer

This is a very good quality live show. It's about 2 hours long, and they jam the whole time. I would have liked the set list to have some more songs from s.c.i.e.n.c.e, and make yourself. Overall a very good buy.

4 out of 5 stars Great gift for any incubus fan........2007-05-12

I purchased Incubus-Alive at Red Rocks from Amazon for my wife as an Easter present. She really enjoyed it. Since it is on Blu-ray disk the sound and video quality are excellent, even on my four year old HD setup. I think this is a great purchase for any Incubus fan.

-On a side note, the order came a day or two after the estimated date. I'm guessing it was due to alot of orders placed at the time, since it was Easter. However, this is the first time this has happened and normally Amazon gets my orders to me on or befor the time I expect them =D

5 out of 5 stars HighDefDiscNews.com's Review.......2007-04-27

The Uncompressed Linear PCM 5.1 track on the Blu-ray Disc release of Incubus "Alive at Red Rocks" features a 6.9Mbps audio track. This is by far the best sound quality yet on a High-Def disc. Uncompressed Linear PCM sound is amazing to experience if you have a newer A/V Reciever with real HDMI inputs (not passthrough) to actually get to hear it. The visuals are not too shabby either, with the concert being shot on 15 High-Def cameras and presented in glorious Full 1080p with amazing cinematography too if I say so myself. This Blu-ray Disc is a BD-50 (50gb Dual-Layer) and it really seems to be using all of the space available. This version, just like the Standard-Def DVD version comes with a 5 track bonus CD. Well the 5 tracks from that bonus CD are also on the Blu-ray Disc itself in the Bonus Materials and you can browse or play through a slideshow of High-Def digital camera pictures the band members took themselves as you listen to those songs (which if you look at the end of the concert and bonus materials you see some of the band members taking those pictures).

5 out of 5 stars Awesome View.......2005-08-05

The Morning View Sessions is a recording of the concert held for an extremely fortunate select few, in an extremely small and intimate venue in New York on the day the album, Morning View, was released.

What I would have given to have been there...

The concert showcases the band's strength as a cohesive art machine. While everyone with an album out there these days refers to themselves as an artist, I feel that a likewise select few are worthy of the title. Incubus is one of these few.

The impressive aspect of the live Incubus experience is how the band manages to recreate a studio sound using a DJ, a lone guitar, a lone bass, a lone voaclist and a set of drums. Other bands fail dismally trying to extrapolate the studio performance into a live experience; Incubus manage effortlessly. Retrospectively, one appreciates the deftness of the musicians' less-is-more approach to songwriting. And it must be said, guitarist Michael Einziger is horribly underrated out there - the man is a god.

The concert itself is a good mix of old and new tracks - a good couple of the new songs appear in the show, as well as old favourites like Pardon Me and The Warmth. The performance is a little understated - one wonders at first if it might be an MTv Unplugged show, given the atmosphere, and you do sense that the band may be a little hemmed-in, surrounded on all sides by the audience while they perform on a tiny stage in the middle of the whole thing. Having seen other live Incubus shows, I know they can really belt it out in an arena, and do it well; nevertheless, it is always good to see the versatility that such an intimate setting provides.

In addition to the concert - too short, in my opinion; a mere 12 tracks is hardly a taste of Incubus' vast capabilities - the disc features the video for the lead single Wish you were Here, as well as the making of the video, which is really cool. Also included is a behind-the-scenes of the concert, which is a nice addition.

It is a superb complement to the already-unbeatable album, Morning View, and a must-have for all fans.

1 out of 5 stars Buy the wrong DVD.......2005-07-17

Although a lot of people said it is good, this DVD may not attract other people. What I am looking for is a beautiful song. But the title and the cover of this DVD is much more beautiful than the concert. I think I bought the wrong DVD.

I couldn't conclude the music is not good. It is just not my style. It may be amazing for many Incubus fans.

To me, I just feel the DVD is very noisy. When you place the order, please check on the web about the Incubus and make sure you understand you are going to buy.

Enjoy it.

4 out of 5 stars Wonderful!.......2005-07-14

This DVD is great! It has bonus features, music videos and more. I think if you are wanting to experience Incubus in another level then this is one of the DVD's of their's that you MUST own. It shows concert footage from NYC and their overall performance is amazing. Well done!!!

5 out of 5 stars A Must Have For The Incubus Fan.......2005-01-24

To celebrate their fourth studio album, 2001's "Morning View," Incubus performed this initimate, twelve song concert in front of a small crowd of fans and thus, "The Morning View Sessions" is born. The concert itself is incentive enough to buy the DVD. The band goes through twelve of their best songs, mostly material coming from the aformentioned "Morning View" and their break-through "Make Yourself," but as a little treat, the band also busts out two unexpected songs from the "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." album ("New Skin" and "Glass"). The overall atmosphere of the concert is peaceful, as the crowd mostly stays quiet while the band performs for them. Every now and then Brandon will make a comment to the crowd, but overall, crowd participation is low, which actually isn't a bad thing, as we can really hear the band shine. The band, in top form (with original bassist Dirk Lance in tow), rip through the set so flawlessly and make it look so easy. The song selection is great, and the way they alter a few songs (albeit, very minor alterations) helps keep it more entertaining. In addition to the concert, this DVD surprisingly has a lot of bonus footage. For starters, we get the original cut of the "Wish You Were Here" video, which was banned by MTV after September 11th (amazing how ridiculous the censorship got, the video isn't bad at all), along with a making-of piece for the video. But the big treat is the behind the scenes footage of the making of "Morning View." You have to look around a bit in the menu to find all of it, but the footage is very entertaining and often informative, as we follow the band around in the beautiful house they stayed in to record the album. Overall, it's an excellent release from Incubus, who really haven't put out a bad thing yet. The concert is great, and the supplemental stuff just makes it all that much better. If you are an Incubus fan, I recommend this, along with their two other DVD's.

Product Description

Tara Reid stars in a gruesome tale about a group of attractive young college students forced to seek shelter in an ominous abandoned factory after a car accident leaves them stranded. Lurking within is a vicious serial killer bringing new meaning to the term "deranged." Soon, though, the group — what's left of them — makes another shocking discovery. Inside a triple-locked, shatterproof glass cage is a mysterious coma patient who holds the key to their escape and, ultimately, their survival.

1 out of 5 stars It's bad in a very bad way........2007-03-17

I try very much to be openminded when it comes to horror movies, but this? It's so bad my eyes started to hurt, bad idea and very bad acting. It's so bad I barried it deep deep down in my garden so no man could ever reach it again.

4 out of 5 stars Tara Reid in her greatest performance.......2007-03-02

Now when you pick up the box this DVD comes in you have to know you're not grabbing 'Gone With The Wind' or 'Citizen Kane'. This is a gorefest of blood, inhabited by beautiful, stupid college students who make all the wrong decisions. It has little redeeming value for drama students and not a lot going for it in the special effects department and the title of this review says a lot, for this is probably the best performance I have ever seen by Tara Reid, which if faint praise if there ever was faint praise. However, I watched the entire thing and kind of enjoyed it. Four stars may be too generous, but I say it earned 4 stars simply because it delivers what you expect when you read the box. There is no threat to sweep the oscars here. Just the oppurtunity to splatter a little (okay, a lot) of blood all over Tara. One bad thing.. Six people in the SUV and all survived what looked like a pretty bad accident without a scratch. Must have been a Volvo. Anyway, stick around for the ending. Kind of a typical twist you can see coming, but it's done pretty well.

1 out of 5 stars PERFECTLY HORRIBLE HORROR.......2007-02-16

According to the IMDB this movie is the first one specifically made for PC downloading...it shows. Without any creative vision at all; horrible lighting, acting and editing and a confusing, muddled storyline, INCUBUS is everthing a bad horror movie should be. Tedious. Stupid. And just not worth it, folks.

1 out of 5 stars Someone please rip my eyes out..........2007-02-10

What if I had made a horror movie in high school? It would have gone something like this..

My best friend Tara, an aspiring thespian who can fake cry really well, would be my star. Before filming, we'd make sure to touch up Tara's delicious golden locks. Oooops, A little bit too much bleach!

My story would revolve around a group of teenagers trapped in a strange house where they'd stumble upon an eerie, comatatose man wearing a bathing suit (Tom from the swim team would be a perfect fit...of course we'd have to shave his head...I wonder if he'd be willing?). The strange house will be dark and water will be dripping from everywhere, maybe in slow motion. Tara and my other friends/actors will be extremely dim witted, and mostly deaf so that they can't hear each other very well. My characters will then die one by one in entirely standard an unoriginal death sequences. I'll think of some totally absurd story to tie everything together later, but it is sure to be absolutely terrifying. I'll save money by using a lot of stock footage, staging the car accident just "after" the accident occurs, and scoring the music myself on my Casio at home. Genius. I'm going to be the most popular guy in school!

1 out of 5 stars Less than entertaining........2007-02-10

Unrated Edition - Though some strange things happened, overall this movie was not very engaging -- the only thing that kept me from just turning it off was the possibility of Tara Reid taking her top off (which didn't happen).

this dvd has a great selection of live songs. which are damn-fine performances !
and it has all the videos(up to that part of their career)
I would highly recommend this dvd to anyone who is an INCUBUS fan, or, even anyone who is a fan of great music....
Once again: a great selection of material from INCUBUS for this DVD.

5 out of 5 stars here's a DVD to sink your teeth into.......2004-11-22

This DVD is of Incubus on the Sno Core tour with System Of A Down (Serj makes an apperance in one song), Mr. Bungle, and others. This is what to watch if you want to see what Incubus can do in concert. The thing that makes me like them so much is the way they mix things up. They're not afraid to do an extended version of a song, or change up the lyrics somewhat. Another reason this is such a good DVD is because of the little scenes in between a few songs. It really shows you that Incubus really do love what they do, and have a good time doing it. I really like how they mixed show clips too, it's interesting to see how they can change from show to show. Also, their song choices couldn't have been better. They play all of my favorite songs from S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Make Yourself. They also play them perfectly, Brandon shows that he doesn't need vocal help like some lead singers do nowadays. Mike gets to show how good he is at playing guitar on here too, he really is amazing. The band as a whole prove that they are one of the better bands to see live. The sound quality by the way is really good, especially if you have surround sound.

Just a few of the best songs are Favorite Things, Pardon Me, The Warmth, and Redefine. Like I said though, every song is great, there is no song on here I would change. I reccommend this DVD to any Incubus fan in search of a good DVD of them. The extras alone are worth the price though (there is a TON), so pick it up for a great performance from a spectacular band.

5 out of 5 stars class!!.......2004-10-27

i bought this origionally for the music videos, i had never seen the stellar video.but i got this home, stuck it in the dvd player and was happily engrossed in viewing pleasure for 2 hours. the acoustic shows are great. the live concerts great, everythings great.i know that people are complaining about the music in the menue creens and the fact that you have to keep clicking for the different shows and features but i really dont care, i love it, i think its better than "the morning view sessions" as there are more special features on here than that disc, plus there was more work put into this one, dont get me wrong i love them both but this is better.
if you like incubus then get this, even if you dont, get it, you will not be disappointed!

Description

This long-lost cult classic stars William Shatner as Marc, a soldier of pure heart who becomes the target of a beautiful demon who wants his soul.

5 out of 5 stars Atmosphere.......2007-03-28

If you enjoyed the 60s TV series THE OUTER LIMITS, then you'll probably get a kick out of this film. This movie has the same feel of the best of the episodes of OL. There's a constant feeling of dread, as if the hand of Fate is always about to fall upon the various characters who move across the screen. The cinematogaphy is shadowed enough through the use of black and white photogrpahy to lend a further air of impending doom to the affairs.

Spoken entirely in Esparanto (with English sub-titles), the movie is not at all difficult to follow for those viewers who are neither familiar with the artificial language, nor accustomed to sub-titles. The acting is surprisingly good, and the casting was quite effective and all players seem extremely well suited for their roles.

INCUBUS is quite an excellent film and I feel confident in recommending it.

4 out of 5 stars Rescued classic on DVD (with a slight flaw, though).......2007-01-09

Before he was Captain Kirk on TV's STAR TREK, William Shatner did some brilliant and disturbing work in both TV and independent/small budget film. He appeared on THE TWILIGHT ZONE and did a seriously sinister turn as a racist preacher in the Roger Corman film THE INTRUDER (also known by the title SHAME, which is how I first saw it on VHS). His role as the virtuous man Marc in INCUBUS, this wild 1965 film from OUTER LIMITS creator Leslie Stevens, is equally strange and very daring. More than the gimmick of watching pre-TREK Shatner, however, this is a truly creepy and unnerving film about the primal fears of life/death, heaven/hell, soul/abyss, etc.

While this film transfer is crisp and clear, I do have a complaint about it. All the film's dialogue was spoken in the made-up language of Esperanto. Here, you can't switch off the English-language subtitles so as to lose yourself in the surreal vibe you get from watching everyone talk to each other and not necessarily understanding what's being said. The best you can do on this DVD version is switch to French subtitles - even there, the words get in the way of the picture so that's an added distraction.

Still, it's a wonderfully dark and fascinating film and certainly far more thought-provoking than the average viewer might think of a film featuring Shatner in the months before he took over the Enterprise.

P.S. -- Watch for a young Robert Fortier in the opening moments of the film. For those in the know, Fortier played a number of roles in the films of Robert Altman throughout much of the 1970s (you may remember him best as the sad-eyed drunk who gratefully takes Warren Beatty's whiskey flask in 1971's MCCABE & MRS. MILLER).

OK, so get this DVD -- all ye who care about film. And let's collectively hope they may someday produce a version of INCUBUS on DVD that doesn't use any subtitles at all - just Esperanto, all the way.

5 out of 5 stars Shatner's Audio Commentary Worth The Price Alone.......2007-01-04

This film was made for almost no budget by the folks who worked on "The Outer Limits" and it sure feels like an OL episode. As for the Esperanto, if you are use to watching movies in foriegn languages, this movie will be no problem. It is a very good job for such a meager budget and the actors tried quite hard to look convincing spouting a language they probably never even heard until they signed up for the job.

There are also two audio commentary tracks. One by the production staff and one by Shatner. Shatner's track is worth the price of the disc alone and gives you an insight into his sense of humor, his work ethic in the early days and what it was like to work during the golden age of the "B-Movie".

Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing.......2007-01-03

Gorgeus girls and an excellent photography makes a great movie, and the history maybe is simple but is great.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......2006-11-10

The movie is not in English and the quality of the film is poor - jumpy, scratchy. I watched maybe 5 minutes and stopped it as it was becoming too hard to watch the movie and read the very wordy subtitles at the same time.

5 out of 5 stars Franco returns to his own early glory.......2003-11-10

Jess Franco has been known to make more than a few stinkers in his day and his recent pairing with One Shot Productions has allowed him to more freely explore his own inner monsters. Given a budget and unbridled freedom, you never know what to expect from the Old Maestro. But in INCUBUS Franco has harkened back to his spectacular 1970s heydays with a very close retelling of his LORNA THE EXORCIST film. Carina Palmer is pretty and compelling taking over the old Lina Romay role. Lina Romay herself takes on the role played by the iconic Janine Reynaud in the original -- how time flies! Sure the film has a lot of nudity and some very uncomfortable and creepy scenarios, but Franco has not been better recently and for the over-18 crowd this should be very satisfying. In a nutshell, this is the story of a man consumed by greed who makes a pact with a demoness and thinks he has gotten away with it. But 18 years later, his daughter becomes the devil's playground.

Even by the degraded standards of early-'80s slasher films, The Incubus is pretty hard to sit through. A grumpy John Cassavetes plays a small-town doctor investigating a series of sex murders with a supernatural twist; the only other name actor is John Ireland, and everybody else is atrocious. Most of the genre's conventions are trotted out, albeit at a glacial pace: shower scene, young couple swimming at an isolated lake. The one quirky element, a suggestion of unhealthy intimacy between Cassavetes and his teenage daughter, might have creepy potential if it weren't so obviously a red herring. To his credit, Cassavetes passes through the entire film looking as though he would like to disappear into a corner. This low-budget Canadian offering is not to be confused with Incubus, the daffy William Shatner picture shot in the language of Esperanto, which is actually pretty fun. --Robert Horton

3 out of 5 stars Good for it's time.......2006-10-23

For the time that this came out it was a fairly good movie .Decent gore but reminded me of Humaniods from the Deep with the "mating" that was going on .The end can be seen a mile away , like the end of "The Village" but is still enjoyable .As a side note Bruce Dickinson make his film debut with the band Samson .

1 out of 5 stars john cassavetes must have still been getting over being blown to hell in "the fury" when he made this turkey.......2006-04-18

john cassavetes was one of our great actors and film makers but this piece of junk he must have made to pay for one of his own directed movies ,at least i hope thats why he made this sick horror movie about demon rape and killing. it's just the worst ,not one good scare or even good scene.. a total waste of time and talent!

5 out of 5 stars OK...IF YOU LIKE THAT KIND OF THING.......2005-05-07

The Incubus is a film which is either loved or hated, with no middle ground. With this film, there can be no sitting on the proverbial fence and I have read very contrasting reviews on this film.

The plot for The Incubus certainly has potential and it must be stated that it is highly watchable for that alone. However, unlike other films directed by the excellent John Hough, this one does have a lot of holes in it plot-wise and many threads are left hanging.

This film is based on a novel of the same name, which focuses on a series of brutal rapes and murders in a small town. These tend not to be pre-meditated in any way, as the victims have no particular link and seemed very much to be simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. The film follows this thread perfectly and in fact the parts of the book which have not been represented in the film would hardly have made a difference if the reverse had been true, as the book leaves equally as many threads hanging and has severl loop-holes in the plot.

As the film progresses and the corpses mount up, various legends regarding the incubus emerge, which focus on the fact that it is some kind of demon reputed to copulate with worshipers of Satan. This is the one line that may have completely saved this film from any bad reviews, had it been better explored and portrayed, but sadly this is only slightly touched upon and as such it simply leaves one more thread hanging and never really goes anywhere.

Unlike other films by this director, this film does not culminate in a breathtaking conclusion, nor do all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place just before the end. Considering that John Hough is a veteran director, the one thing that this film does show is his versatility in adapting to modern film production, because the violence and effects of this film are quite extreme and leave some of his other films standing.

It can never be said that any performance in this film is in any way poor, as I found all the performances quite top-rate and certainly the way the plot spans out is well paced and inventive. For me, the only shame is the fact that the holes left in the novel were also left in the film, along with several others which are particular to the film.

The Incubus is a film to be watched amongst friends, as it always has the effect of initiating fierce debate after it ends. Some people will go one particular way and have the meaning of the film set out completely and a clear understanding of what it was trying to convey, while others will have no idea and simply label it as a "bad film." Speaking personally, I very much enjoyed watching this film (as I have with all of John Hough's work) and so I definitely fall into the "love it" classification of viewers for this one.

For excellent performances, a good script, decent special effects, inventive camera work and imagery and masterful direction, I award this film full marks. My only advice to the potential viewer would be to watch this film with an open mind and try not to take any notice of reviews of this film, because no two viewers will come away with the same opinion.

1 out of 5 stars Not worth a Watch.......2005-01-26

I am fairly easy to please in the horror genre, and I have sat through some real turkeys ( in the opinion of other people) and yet I find that this so-called horror film is the only one I can easily say has no redeeming qualities.
Even as good as Cassavetes is, he can't redeem a really horrible script, and I don't mean so horrible its funny kind of "horrible"... this is just not entertaining, not scarey, and just a plain waste of time.
This film thoroughly deserves any and every negative comment about it. Do not waste your time, even if you like straight splatter films, this film is just a waste of time.

Product Description

Director/Writer/Producer Josh Landan works with Producer/Writer/Editor Scott Stankey to craft one of the most revealing and compelling surfing stories ever told, offering a feature documentary delivered in a truly unique cinematic style. FLOW is narrated by Brandon Boyd (Incubus) with music from the bands Incubus, Bloc Party, Sparta, Pinback, and many others including original music and score by Michael Einziger, Tim Curran, and Todd Hannigan. FLOW chronicles the last 31 years of surfing through a unique, insider's perspective as to the dedication, devotion, and individual passion that has revolutionized modern surfing and its mostly misinterpreted lifestyle. The story focuses on Channel Islands Surfboards founder and world-renowned surfboard craftsman Al Merrick and his special relationships with the team of world champion Channel Islands Team riders and arguably the two best and most influential surfers ever: Kelly Slater (7 time world champion) and Tom Curren (3 time world champion). The film highlights Al's visionary approach that cultivated the Channel Islands Team rider's talent into 19 world titles, bringing you back to the early 60's with the evolution of the shortboard and takes you on a journey up to present day. We relive those profound years that experienced a revolutionary leap forward in surfing design, performance, and image, and weave through to the present where you experience first hand what it takes to be a part of the most progressive surfing team in the world. FLOW reveals the core, revolutionary changes that resulted in a worldwide recognition of modern surfing. It is not just a surf film with beautiful imagery and a loose story structure, but rather a heart-felt, soulful perspective on one man's influence on a bevy of talented individuals. This film will not only illustrate the revolution of modern surfing, but it will inspire people that are completely distanced from the sport.

5 out of 5 stars THE GREATEST SURF DOCUMENTARY OF OUR TIME.......2007-03-08

FLOW: THE TRUE STORY OF A SURFING REVOLUTION documents the rise of some of the greatest names in the history of modern day surfing. It is at once a film that briefly follows the evolution of modern day surfing and the transition to shortboarding. You learn about how Al Merrick began shaping and the design breakthroughs that took place between him and the surfers that he shaped for that would change the sport forever. There are several mini biographies on Channel Islands riders including Tom Curren Kelly Slater, Taylor Knox, Bobby Martinez, Dane Reynolds. The soundtrack to this film is incredible, it enhances the film and takes it to another level. Brandon Boyd's narration is first class supplemented by interviews from some of the greatest names in the sport. The film is an hour and a half long, and after I saw it for the first time, I couldn't believe how powerful it was. Flow radiates on an emotional and spiritual level, it brings you beyond the action in the water and into the hearts and minds of some of the greatest surfers of our time. The DVD is packed with Bonus features and a subscription to Transworld Surf.

5 out of 5 stars Not just a surf movie.......2007-01-03

This is an inspiring movie. I usually start to get tired of just listening to surf lingo and watching waves on the typical surf movie. This is really the story of a legend who is an unassuming individual who not only has helped shaped the face of surfing, but nutured and developed what is arguably one of the most awesome stable of team surfers ever. What is most impressive is the love and interest he has in these guys as people , not just talents. His love and dedication to the sport is what is inspiring. I highly recommend this movie. In addition, the soundtrack is awesome.

Turn the sound off and do your own speaking parts and soundtrack.

It looks great- visually appealing.

I do love Esperanto, but the 8 different Esperanto accents are a bit confused. But heck, I like it. I am over the age of 13. Thank you.

4 out of 5 stars Attention "Outer Limits" Fans!.......2005-09-20

The four-star rating is reflective of the interest this film holds for "Outer Limits" aficianados. A 2-and-a-half to 3-star rating is probably more reflective of its general worth, although it is a film filled with memorable imagery.

"Incubus" is from the same talents that brought us the first "Outer Limits" television series. "Incubus" writer and director (...as well as Esperanto buff...) Leslie Stevens was Executive Producer of "Limits;" and he directed a few of the episodes, when the likes of Byron Haskin or Gerd Oswald weren't behind the cameras.

"Incubus," shot at Big Sur, looks and feels much like a "Limits" episode, due in large part to the striking camera work of Conrad Hall, who also worked on the series. Also, the musical score of "Incubus" by Dominic Frontiere features not only original music but recyclings from the "Outer Limits" soundtracks.

The demon-ridden tale is thin, but much of the imagery sticks with you, as well as the sight and sound of young Shatner - giving a rather restrained performance here - spouting Esperato aphorisms.

4 out of 5 stars William Shatner speaks Esperanto quite well.......2005-03-26

He was in fact, as far as I can tell, in the only film ever done in Esperanto. It isn't bad except for the incubus which is quite literally a man holding a stuffed goat head over his face trying to look like a monster but for some reason, he seems to be made for Esperanto. His overacting makes sense here and his gestures fit in well with the language.

It is surreal and dreamy and I think any fans of 60s cult cinema will enjoy this. It's just so weird and bizarre.
