3 out of 5 stars Why do you watch?.......2007-03-19

Slasher movies have a very specific purpose ... and if you enjoy that purpose, you'll enjoy them, not so much despite the fact that they're not all that well made but, in part, because they're not all that well made. Slasher movies differ from true horror movies in that ... well ... they're not really very horrifying, unless you're VERY easily upset by even the HINT of danger and/or violence. Slasher movies are, to most people, more silly and/or stupid than horrifying. They are a very intentional blend of eye candy, danger, fear, violence and gore ... in varying amounts, depending on the target audience and creators tastes ... aimed at tantilizing people with a glancing second hand experience of things forbidden.

SPM is a rather mild example of this genre, at least by my tastes, and wasn't all that tantilizing. It had it's moments and I did add it to my collection for a time. Other reviewers go into more details of the plot and some of the compromises made in the production, and I don't see any point in rehashing what's already been said. My bottom line review of the film ...

a) If you're in the mood for a rather mild but amusing slasher flick ... this might be just the ticket.
b) If you hate all slasher flicks ... you'll probably hate this one too.
c) If you want something really intense ... either a very graphic slasher flick or a true horror flick ... keep looking.
d) If you want to "study" the genre and be familiar with some of it's milestones, this should be on your list of movies to at least rent.
I don't think there's any right or wrong about this ... just what suits your personal tastes.

5 out of 5 stars Please Pass The Cheese.But I Love IT.......2007-02-13

"The Slumber Party Massacre" Is another movie I can watch over and over again..
I love the characters in this movie they are completely over the top and fun.
The gore in this movie is abundant and will satisfy a true gore hound and its also is laugh out loud funny at times without losing the feel of the over all premise.
I especially love the character of Trish's little sister Courtney who steals playgirl magazines and talks about how a boy French kissed her and I can quote the movie I have seen it so many times she say's "Ew it was all slimy and stuff I thought I was gonna throw up" I was LMAO ,its actually the way she says it ,she's quite the good little actress.
The final showdown is great and so is the rest of the movie, it's great fun and a slasher lovers delight ,lots of blood and nudity. A must for the collector.

3 out of 5 stars People are so stupid.......2007-01-14

People always comlpain that actors in horror slashers films are too old looking. Who cares. People forget that it was the 80's. Boys, girls, men and women in the 80's all look older because they had long hair. And having long big hair full of hairspray was common back in the 1980's. You especially look older if you style your hair with gel, mousee, or hairspray. Doesn't everyone know that an 18 year old guy or girl can dress professionally at work and look 5 to 10 years older than they really are. It's not all about the facical structure that makes a person look younger or older.Everyone also looks much younger if you leave your hair natural. By natural i mean not putting all the crap like gel in your hair. Of course guys of today shave their hair or have a near shaved buzzcut so we look much much younger. People are so stupid. Think before you say something.

5 out of 5 stars great slasher flick!.......2006-07-18

Alot of people say how they dislike this movie,i dont know i found it to be quite good...i mean its a slasher flick are u expecting it to be a 3 hour suspense movie? I also heard people say the actor that played the killer wasnt any good...i thought he played the part very well. I found him to be very creepy and it is believeable that he would escape from a mental instituion. Not to mention he kills with a drill as well which adds even more effect to the movie. I havent seen the sequels yet though, but this one i would reccomend to any fans of 80s slasher films...if you are too much into the new age of horror/slasher films than yeah u wont like this.

1 out of 5 stars Nothing memorable at all.......2006-06-30

I have read that this film was written and directed by a woman, and intended as a satire on the "slasher" genre...is that right? Because it sure doesn't appear to be anything different to any other slasher film from the 1980's. The plot? A girl holds a slumber party and a maniac on the loose comes to the house and tries to kill them all. That's it. Yup, that really is it. Along the way we see lots of shots of the girls getting undressed which are so obvious and blatant that I would have taken them as evidence that this really was a send-up of the genre, if the rest of the film wasn't so painfully and boringly routine.

Every horror cliche is here, and not a single thing happens that has not been seen in countless other movies. There's no earthly reason for the girls to carry on falling prey to the killer once they realise that something is wrong. He's only one man, for gawd's sake, and there are loads of possible exits from the large house they are staying in. And when he actually gets inside, the stupid dummies don't even run out of the front door, but into closets or down into the basement, etc...why, I don't know, for the house is in a fully inhabited residential street, not the middle of a forest or something...who wrote this mess? The acting is also rubbish, and the maniac killer has no back story to explain his behaviour, he just exists to terrorize the girls. I wouldn't even say that the female cast is that attractive, but if you don't really care as long as you see lots of topless shots, you should be happy here. The murders are also quite bloody, but nothing about this film shouts out ""recommend me!", so I won't. It's tiresome and instantly forgettable.

3 out of 5 stars 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 stars ... What does it all mean?.......2007-03-18

Where to begin ... :)

When reviewing horror flicks, it's often hard for me to know where to begin. First off, are we talking about a "serious" horror flick, that's really trying to scare the carp out of you ... or are we talking about a sillier flick, whose obvious and often addmitted main purpose was to partial undress young women and prance them around for a bit before killing them?

Well, to begin with, this is not a serious horror flick, nor was it ever intended to be, I don't imagine. For me, the entire "Slumber Party Massacre" series falls into the second category of horror flicks that ... well, let's just admit it, is a product of and panders to the sexual frustrations of men who simply can't get enough sex and find some amount of release in movies such as this.

While serious horror flicks sometimes explore the nature and origins of human fear, (a totally different topic) this sort of movie usually isn't even slightly frightening. And when you read the reviews written by people who enjoy this sort of movie, myself included, you'll quickly discover that it's all about various combinations of nubile and attractive young women, the extent to which said young women are completely or partilly undressed, their exposure to not very convincing danger and violence, their participation in not very explicitly rendered sex and the quality (and, perhaps more often, the lack thereof) with which these various goals are achieved.

In short ... these movies are all about sexual frustration. :)

Part 1 - the skin

Many people watch this sort of movie, at least in large part, and I include myself in this category, in order to watch attractive young women who aren't wearing much clothing. How did I "learn" this? Well, when I started allowing myself to watch X rated movies, my interest in such flicks dropped a bit. Why kid ourselves? These movies aren't scary or horrifying ... but they do feature cute girls wearing little or (in some cases) no clothing. And that's a big reason we watch. We're not seeing enough of this sort of thing in our day to day lives, and this is one way to see more. Seeing such things is stimulating ... (with quality levels varying wildly) why deny it?

Part 2 - "danger"

If it was just about skin, then this sort of movie wouldn't get made ... we'd all just watch bikini/beach movies, and that would be that. But, as most of us know, some level of perceived danger in the "story", even if it is pretty lame danger, can intensify the sensation of sexual tension in such flicks, and it taps into the energy of frustration we're feeling. Sex + Danger can be a more interesting feeling than just sex, because it acts as a sort of magnifier. Again, keeping in mind, the quality of both of these (sexuality and danger) in most flicks of this sort is pretty low.

Part 3 - Violence

Violence, in short, is about putting a quick and expeditious end to frustration. Got a problem? Kill it? In movies, I find that this kind of violence is an artistic (and I use the term losely) expression of wanting to put a rather selfishly quick end to frustration. I'm not getting what I want ... boom. Violence is about allowing ourselves to simply TAKE what we want in the most selfish way possible, with no regard for our victim or even our own future well being. And that's why violence can be a "desireable" element in such films ... it adds to the air of self gratification we're looking for.

Part 4 - Lameness

Believe it or not, the lameness of the sex and violence and danger in these movies is actually a part of the reason they work. If these movies were highly realistic and graphic in all three elements of danger, sex and violence, they would utterly fail in their intended "mission" which is to provide some guilt free guilty pleasure.

Now ... when you mix scantily clad / naked young lovelies with lame danger and violence, you're talking about a perfect vehicle for dealing with sexual frustration ... the guilt free (too lame to feel real guilt) guilty pleasure. Those of us who watch such movies more than once know this and some of us openly admit it. Feeling frustrated ... watch a slasher flick. It helps ...

Now ... are the Slumber Party Massacre movies "good" examples of this sort of flick? Well, personally, I found them uneven. In places they were fun, in places they were dull ... in places they delighted with lovely scenes of very attractive women shown to their cheasiest and shallowest sex appeal ... at other times they frustrated with scenes that were neither sexy nor appealing. In some places the faux violence was effective, in other places, just stupid.

If these movies are about allowing yourself to enjoy silly, stupid, sexual escape without any emotional depth or self exploration, this series of flicks will do the job if your needs aren't too demanding. If you're looking for the "state of the art" in this sort of movie ... well ... this isn't it, at least not consistently.

1 out of 5 stars Should have fallen asleep during this slumber party............2006-12-29

The original slumber party massacre was a pretty decent little horror film. You had the same stereo-typical characters as in other films, a killer, and some kill scenes. The killer was pretty creepy. They didn't give you a reason for his rampage, but doesn't that make it all the more creepy? Yeah, it was an I am woman here me roar movie, but all in all not bad.

When you rent a sequel to a horror movie, you expect
basically the same things as the first one. I mean, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm, the characters and subtleties change, but the story remains the same. The "same" can not be said for Slumber Party Massacre 2.

When I watch a horror movie I always look for three things. First, is the film well made? You can have a great story line, and a great killer, but if it looks crappy, and the acting is terrible, it's not enjoyable to watch. Second, are the death sequences believable? They should be kind of gross, and have just the right amount of blood that makes you make that "eww..." face. Finally, does it end well?

First, Slumber Party Massacre 2 or SPM2 looks well made. I must say it looks much better than the first one. The acting is also much better. Crystal Bernard is a beautiful woman and a pretty good actress. She brought something special to the movie. The other girls are pretty typical, but good for a horror movie. The camera work is great, looks professional, and the script is tolerable.

Where this movie faulters is the death sequences. It's not the deaths persay, it's the killer. In the first one you had a guy with a portable power drill. Pretty cool (althought the drill was a symbol for something else.....ahem.....I am woman, hear me roar...) In this movie you have a guy with a drill strapped to the endo of his electric guitar. He runs around with his guitar, singing incredibly bad versions of 1950's hop music. You know "Go greased lightning....go greased lightning"???? Well yeah, it's that bad. I thought I rented a horror movie, not Grease 3. Because of this, there's really no tension here, you just laugh for the first 30 seconds and then hit fast forward. The only really terrifying thing, is the fact that you actually paid money for this....

Third is the ending. Yeah, it's not bad. It wraps things up, and it's nothing you can't see coming. But once again, the ending is killed by the 6 minute 50's rock chase sequence.

All in All, I thought it was pretty bad. You watch these types of movies because they are so bad...they're good. But this one is just plain bad.

2 out of 5 stars "T.J., you didn't give her any of your drugs, did you?".......2005-09-07

I double whammied myself last night with this film, Slumber Party Massacre II (1987), and the sequel titled Slumber Party Massacre III (1990). Why would I subject myself to so much bad cinema in one heaping, steaming, oozing dose? Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I suppose...now I've seen the first film, and it actually wasn't too bad (it wasn't all that great, either), but the sequels, this one in particular, were pretty crummy, which is annoying to me because the bar really wasn't set that high. Written and directed by Deborah Brock (Rock 'n' Roll High School Forever), the film stars Crystal Bernard (Young Doctors in Love), whom many may remember from the television series "Wings", along with a slew of TV movies. Also appearing is playmate Kimberly McArthur (Young Doctors in Love), Juliette Cummins (Friday the 13th: A New Beginning), Heidi Kozak (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood), and Joel Hoffman (Pumpkinhead).

In this second installment in the series, sprite-like Bernard plays the role of Courtney, the annoying younger sister (now all grown up) to the character of Valerie, both of whom managed to survive the first film (Bernard did not appear in the first film...the role of Courtney was played by another `actress'). Apparently Val hasn't done so well, and now resides in on a koo koo farm (she's koo koo for Cocoa Puffs, among other things), while Courtney, who lives with their mother, got off a little better, suffering the occasional nightmare tied to her ordeal. As the film begins we see her in bed, having a dreamy fantasy about a shirtless, hunky dingus (we later learn his name is Matt), which is then interrupted by visions of the driller killer (scenes from the previous movie are shown, basically as filler to pad out the film). Anyway, when Courtney and her friends are perpetrating their act as the world's oldest high school students (Bernard was about 26 at the time she appeared in this film), they're part of some lame, Bangles-esque rock band with champagne dreams of hit albums and music videos (keep dreaming girls, cause your faux musicianship suck-diddly-ucks). Around this time we find out Shelia (Cummins), whose the lead singer, has access to a condo, one her father recently purchased, and the girls are planning to go up for the weekend to practice, and perhaps party (I'm using party as a verb here, a usage which I normally loathe, but I'm trying to stick to the mentality of the characters). Some lame and forgettable sequences follow, followed by an all too brief topless scene, right about the time two boyfriends show up, allowing for them to peep through the window for a view of some pitiful skin...lovely...do all the guys in these films have to be portrayed as creepy, voyeuristic perverts? Seems the gang's all here, and things are going well, except for the fact Courtney's a real poison pill as her nightmarish visions are becoming more and more realistic, to her at least (severed hand in her burger, blood pouring from the bathtub faucet, violent poultry products) often featuring a greasy 50s style rock and roller, clad in leather, sporting a vicious looking geetar complete with giant, spinning drill bit...bruther...not content to exist in Courtney's dreams, evil Fonzie comes to life and begins thin out the cast (thankfully)...

Probably the one thing that will annoy many fans of the genre is actually having to wait a full 51 minutes before the first kill...which, by the way, was actually a pretty decent one, if you dig on that kind of thing. Why do we have to wait so long? I haven't the slightest idea...it's not like anyone watches a film like this for character development or intricate storylines. The rest of the kills are middling to poor, but do involve a decent amount of hemoglobin spillage. And in case you're wondering, Bernard does not bare any skin (I didn't think she would). There was only one instance of skinnage (from Cummins), and it was pretty unspectacular. You know, one of the draws to a movie like this is the scantily clad/soon to be nekkid females, of which the film was sorely lacking. Surprisingly, the one person I expected to get nekkid, that of former playmate Kimberly McArthur, didn't, which was a real shame as I `googled' images of her (try it, it's fun!) revealing she had a most spectacular body at the time (check her character out by the pool...she's practically busting out of that bikini top). Perhaps she was trying to move away from shedding her clothes and into a serious film career, one that never really materialized...big surprise there. The characters in this film were actually distinctive, almost interesting...I'm not saying I developed fondness for any of them or cared whether or not they got nasty holes bore into them, but they exhibited a bit more individuality than I would have expected. One of my biggest hang ups with this film was with the killer himself, who came off as a cross between Robbie Benson and Andrew `Dice' Clay, with, sadly, Robbie Benson being the more dominant personality. He had the ability to pop in and out whenever and wherever he wanted and change certain aspects of reality, characteristics apparently borrowed from the Freddie Krueger character of Wes Craven's Nightmare on Elm Street films. At least there we had a memorable villain...here, the guy is just a greasy dink, one who performs the absolute worst dance number near the end of the film...no foolin'...another aspect that really ticked me off was the ambiguity in terms of the ending. I won't reveal the `surprise', but it's nothing new, and I absolutely abhor when filmmakers take the route they did here, as it's often a pathetic attempt to cover up poorly written material, shoddy directing and laziness in general (note the ridiculously obvious product placement for Pepsi, Oxy-10, and Perrier, among others), which is pretty sad considering no one's expectations for a film like this would have been very high to begin with, but then that's just my opinion.

The fullscreen picture quality on this DVD is decent, but I did notice some dust on the print. The DVD case claims some sort of re-mastering took place, but I think when they say `re-mastered', I think it means `transferred to DVD' and that's about it...the audio is about as good as the picture, meaning it's good enough to get by. There are some biographies, and a theatrical trailer, but I'm unsure if this film ever made it to the theaters, or if it was a direct to video production. Also included are trailers for some other films including Slumber Party Massacre (1982), Slumber Party Massacre III (1990), and Sorority House Massacre II (1990). By the way, when I was talking earlier about lazy and sloppy filmmaking, it extends to the whoever released this DVD as two of the three pictures on the back of the DVD case are either from other films, or possible from scenes no longer included in this 75 minute version (word is there may be a 90 minute version out there, but I sincerely doubt lengthening the film by 15 minutes would have increased my enjoyment).

Cookieman108

By the way, Sally, the drummer of the group, shouldn't be allowed to write material for the band...ever...

Is it possible to give a movie NEGATIVE stars? If it was, this garbage would get a lot of them. "Slumber Party Massacre 2" is an insult to the horror film genre and an insult to the serious horror movie fan's intelligence. I mean, a rock & roll singer dancing all over the place killing people with a ridiculous contraption that is half drill and half guitar???? Need I even say more???? If you like this movie, you may want to seek professional help.

3 out of 5 stars Like Reviewing Fast Food ... .......2007-03-19

Reviewing slasher flicks is not unlike reviewing fast food ... it's not SUPPOSED to be good for you or even all that tasty ... it's just supposed to satisfy your need for something trashy and gratifying and cheap. If that doesn't make sense to you, then neither will slasher movies. They're a kind of guilty pleasure movie that we're not SUPPOSED to enjoy (according to polite society) ... but some of us do anyway. So I don't see any point in pretending that these movies are great cinema or that they ever even aspire to be. They're cinematic junk food ... so sit back, relax and enjoy ... or just don't bother.

With that said, is there such a thing as a "better" or "worse" slasher movie? Of course. But since even seekers of guilty pleasures are looking for different pleasures (pretty women, naked women, horror, gore, terror, violence) and suffering from different kinds of guilt (pretty girl guilt, nudity guilt, violence guilt, etc.), the notion that there is a universally good or bad slasher flick is just as pointless as the notion that we should all eat one flavor of ice cream. Personal preferences are just that ... personal ... and preferences. And what sort of personal preferences is this movie likely to satisfy and disappoint?

Of the three SPM movies this is the one I enjoyed the most, which is only to say that its blend of guilty pleasures suited me best ... and Hope Marie Carlton (Playboy late 80's and early 90's and other vehicles) certainly had something to do with that. She was a favorite of mine "back in the day". To me, the faux violence of this film was a bit edgier than in previous "driller" movies, and pushed my personal buttons more effectively than the previous flicks, but that's not really saying much as none of these films is all that graphic. A GREAT slasher movie ... no ... but I did add it to my collectin.

5 out of 5 stars Ranks with the Original .......2007-01-13

I wont go into deep detail about the movie, but this movie is hands down as good as Slumber Party Massacre. The acting and plot are really good for the low budget. This was actually better made then alot of big budget horror films made lately. I wish they would make a straight up sequel to the first one though. But this one ranks right up there with it.

3 out of 5 stars "Am I the only one not getting it tonight?".......2005-09-07

Slumber Party Massacre III (1990), the third, and final (?) installment in the Slumber Party Massacre series, sees, in my perception, an attempt to return to that which made the original what it was...what that is you should probably decide for yourself, but do know that generally, people who liked the first and third film generally disliked the second, and vice versa. At the very least they did manage to bring one element back, that being the boobage content that was sorely lacking from the second film. Now, before you label me some kind of misogynistic cro-mag type, know that each and all of these films were, in fact, written and directed by...women. That being the case, it should also be noted that they were all produced by a man, that of Roger Corman, so essentially he had final say, for whatever that's worth...I wouldn't doubt Corman purposely chose female writers and directors specifically to insulate himself against accusations of misogyny. Written by Harvard grad Catherine Cyran (Bloodfist II), I bet your parents were proud to know their money wasn't wasted, and directed by Sally Mattison, her lone directorial credit, the film stars Keely Christian (Hollywood Boulevard II), Maria Ford (Alien Terminator), Brandi (that's Brandi with an `I') Burkett (My Boyfriend's Back), and former playmate Hope Marie Carlton (Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College)...I swear, there must be a clause somewhere that requires a former playmate to appear in each one of these films....not that I'm complaining. Also appearing is Maria Claire (Society), David Lawrence (Back Woods), David Greenlee (Iron Eagle), David Kriegel (Alive), and Brittain Frye (Hide and Go Shriek).

The film begins on a beach, as we see young people playing volleyball. There are some awkward introductions, and it seems Jackie (Christian) is the focal character as her parents are out of town and she's planning on having the girls over for a sleepover. Also, we're supposed to believe all are high school students, but that aspect is never focused on too much as its completely unbelievable (they all look to be in their mid 20s). We see some weird looking guy dressed in black spying on the group, and he does pop up later in the film, but his character has no point whatsoever other than that of a completely stupid red herring, so I figure he was a friend of the director or related to someone...regardless...soon we see a girl not with the group getting drilled (not in the good way) in her car in a seemingly unrelated scene, then we see the original group leaving the beach, and we're treated to a pointless driving montage in a Chrysler Le Baron convertible, followed by a shower scene with Jackie sans any view of her goodies...booo! Later that evening the girls arrive, some stuff happens, and a couple of them begin stripping...woo hoo! I'll tell you what, that Maria Ford has very large areolas...the boys crash the party, get kicked out, creepy weirdo skulks around outside, the group nerd shows up, hey, there's a spear gun in the basement...I bet that will come into play later. Some murders occur outside the house performed by a seemingly separate weirdo, one wearing a hooded sweatshirt, baggy pants, and a clear, plastic mask...man, this is getting confusing...especially when you toss in a creepy, voyeuristic neighbor. About an hour in the killer is revealed (rather unspectacularly), and, well...the film goes pretty much the way you'd expect...

There seemed to be no connection with this film to earlier films in terms of characters or story, other than the fact the killer her used a big old industrial drill, so this seemed a sequel only by the fact of the title itself. As I mentioned earlier, there's a sense of effort here to be more like the original film, in that of heaving cleavage, a big house, lotsa blood, and a high body count (my clicker stopped at eleven), but some elements were lost. There were just way too many pointless characters running around this damn film, which resulted in the appearance of the writer obviously (in a pathetic sort of way) trying to throw the viewer off track as to the identity of the killer. Believe it or not, there is a delicate balance in these films in terms of the number of characters in that you can have a lot of them and make it work, if the writing is solid, which it isn't here. The problem is when you have so many (along with weak writing), the audience never cozies up to any of them, and doesn't care who gets kakked. Another aspect that annoyed me is once the killer is revealed, his motivations are never clearly defined, other than the fact he is your run of the mill psychotic murderer with a troubled past, who enjoys using a large drill to bore holes into people he has little, or no, connection to...I wasn't expecting any in-depth dissertation of his motivations, but gimme something. The killer does seem to have a real hate/hate relationship with lamps, lighting fixtures, and closet doors. The dialog is particularly rotten, along with the acting, but the direction is pretty decent. The kill scenes, while bloody, were fairly unimaginative probably due mostly to the fact the whole `driller killer' motif has since been played out this being the third entry in the series. How many times can you see someone get impaled or slashed by a huge drill? Another thing missing from this film is the unintentional humor present within the first, and slightly so in the second. Here everything is played fairly straight up, and suffers so when compared to the others (actually the first was played straight up also, but given the intent of the writer of that one, and the subsequent changes by the producers after the fact, it came off as being funny). There was a bit of humor in that the killer suffered much physical abuse throughout the last part of the film as he's stabbed, blinded, shot with a spear gun, and bashed on the head numerous times only to keep coming back for more. One sequence that stood out is when the recently blinded killer is fondling an injured victim on the floor and three of the women who are left are standing around watching rather than helping their friend. Real nice...hopefully they'll be in the same position some day for someone to return the favor. All in all a weak film, loaded up with lots of victims and blood, and some decent T (but not a lot of A).

The fullscreen picture quality on this DVD was decent, but I thought the audio was a bit poor, which seemed not something lacking from the transfer, but more inherent within the original audio recording. Special features include a trailer for the film, biographies, and previews for other films including Slumber Party Massacre (1982), Slumber Party Massacre II (1987), and Emmanuelle: First Contact (2000)...why this last one was included is beyond me, as it's a soft core movie rather than a slasher flick. Also, if you want to keep the identity of the killer a secret prior to actually watching the movie, avoid looking at the back of the DVD case. There are four pictures present, three of which are from other films, while the fourth, actually relating to this film, shows you who the killer is...kudos to the boneheads at New Horizons Home Video, the company that released this DVD, for their thoughtful packaging...and who's the joker who wrote the synopsis on the back of the DVD case? They obviously didn't see the film, as they funked up a number of details.

Cookieman108

By the way, here's a tip...unplug all electrical devices near the bathtub before actually getting in, including `neck massagers'...

3 out of 5 stars Latches are hard.......2004-04-16

I did actually enjoy this movie. The story was written well enough to keep you mostly guessing at who the new driller killer was. This is clearly not an Oscar candidate, or a truly terrifying film, but it should keep you entertained for the entire running time. Of course,If just one of these girls knew how to open a latch on a door, this movie could have been a 10 minute short.

The gore was decent, however, after watching all three of the series, you long for the creative killings of Jason or Michael.

The characters were attractive, and were appropriately dressed, and undressed for this type of movie. With the one exception being the "tough" chick, who pretty much looked like a man in drag.

If only they had spent a little time tying up the loose ends. The writer set a stage for killer justification, but left the majority of the explanation up to the audience. I am fine with no reason psychotic killing, but if you are going to tease us with reasoning, you need to follow through.

3 out of 5 stars Good Movie...but Better Unrated!.......2004-02-19

This movie is extremly gory but for some reason you can only find it now in its chopped up form. If upi run across this movie uncut grab it, it will be worth it!
