Its alright.......2007-06-20
Plot: A father and his son live alone together and run some kind of store out it the country. Some 'city people' show up and one accidentely hits the fathers son with his motorcycle. The father wants revenge and goes and hires some witch to conjure up this demon called Pumpkinhead to kill all of them but gets more than be bargained for. He starts to have some kind of psychic connection with the Demon, then when he figures out how bad he screwed up he tries to kill it himself.
The atmosphere is good. Very eerie, Good use of colors, perfect movie to watch on Halloween. Only reason I give it 3 stars is cause im not big into monsters but its really like 4 stars for people who like that stuff. If youre into monsters and fairy tales and stuff like that youll like this one. Its more a kids type of movie to me. Overall, it was a good story but nothing spectacular.
Ok I guess.......2007-05-05
My biggest gripe with this movie is that it credits Richard Weinman with the story when in actual fact it originally appeared in an old warren magazine EERIE #11. In fact, the cover depicts the same creature, same color in the same type of swamp. It seems movie makers today (1980s to the present) can only steal ideas, not create them. Unless you happened to have grew up in the 1970s, loving comic books, you won't be privy to how much today is swiped in both books and movies and entertainment in general.
Creepy Vision from Director Stan Winston.......2007-02-18
Horror can be defined in many ways and by many names. Add PUMPKINHEAD to that list!
Actor Lance Henriksen (one of the most underated actors in film history in my opinion) makes this film a timeless and authentic horror classic. Right up there with The Evil Dead only nobody will be laughing.
Watch what you do or PUMPKINHEAD will be looking for you.
One of the best monster movies out there..........2007-02-11
Pumpkinhead is scary and awesome at the same time. I watched this when I was around three years old. I've seen it almost a dozen times since then. This is one of my favorite movies of all times. You should definetley buy this if you want to be scared.
A gift for my son - the Pumpkin DVD........2007-01-12
My son collects horror movies, and was having difficulty finding a copy of the original movie "Pumpkin Head" on DVD. He rarely has time to search on the internet with work and two little children, so he put it on his Christmas wish list. I have used Amazon before to locate hard to find items that weren't available in stores (i.e., the book "Millie" by Barbara Bush, and the DVD "Peggy Sue Got Married"). Therefore, I had full confidence that I would find what I was looking for on Amazon. You are a great resource for hard to find items. Keep up the good work!

Special effects legend Stan Winston's directorial debut, Pumpkinhead (1989), enjoyed a respectable cult following on video thanks to its impressive title monster and the lead performance of character actor Lance Henriksen, and this sequel (the third in the franchise to date), aims to evoke the original with several nods to that film as well as some good old-fashioned gore. Henriksen himself returns in a cameo as the spirit of his character from the first movie, who appears to warn the people of a rural Southern village against evoking the demon Pumpkinhead; unfortunately, it appears that the town doctor (Doug Bradley, better known as Pinhead from the Hellraiser movies) has been desecrating the bodies of the recently deceased, and the locals feel that they have no other choice but to summon the spindly-legged, reptile-faced monster to get their revenge. Director Jake West is mindful of the first film's somewhat elaborate rules (among others, those that helped bring Pumpkinhead back to life suffer with each fresh kill), and he eschews the campy tone of the ghastly 1994 sequel Pumpkinhead: Blood Wings. But a low budget, a hit-or-miss cast, and some shoddy CGI effects which occasionally push the film into "so-bad-it's-good" territory hamper him throughout the picture. Still, for fans of the original, this is a entirely watchable return to Pumpkinhead country. -- Paul Gaita
Product Description
Horror icon Doug Bradley (Hellraiser movies) and Lance Henriksen (Alien vs. Predator, Scream 3) star in this riveting continuation of the Pumpkinhead series. When the residents of a small town discover that their local mortician has been dumping the corpses of their loved ones into a swamp, rather than properly cremating them, they seek the assistance of a witch named Haggis to mete out justice. Haggis summons the demon Pumpkinhead to kill those responsible for the desecration. The only thing that can stop Pumpkinhead is an eccentric, small-town physician with an illegal donor business who is set on killing the townspeople who have unleashed the demon.

Let's lay ole pumpkinhead to rest for good........2007-05-28
The second Pumpkinhead was a shocker (and not in a good way), this one however wasn't too bad. As the second one had nothing to do with the first Pumpkinhead, this one was a follow on, although set some 10 years or so later. Because it was similar to the first I didn't mind it and will probably watch it again in the not too distant future.
Pinhead Meets Pumpkinhead.......2007-05-20
I was pleasantly surprised by Pumpkinhead 3, and liked it alot more than I thought I would. A "part 3" made nearly 20 years after the original could have ended up being quite lousy, especially given the fact that this was one of those Sci-Fi Channel deals. Since this film conjures up the same rules and mythology of the original film, you pretty much know what to expect. However, the director is able to make this familiar story interesting. We all know that Pumpkinhead can be summoned to pull some demonic Charles Bronson worthy revenge on specific wrongdoers, if you're willing to pay the price. The price being that the summoners feel the pain of Pumpkinhead's victims, and they usually realize after it's too late, that setting this monster in motion becomes too much to handle. Plus, the only way for Pumpkinhead to die is for his summoner(s) to die. The unfortunate folks who get Pumpkinhead unleashed on their asses are a group of murderin' folks who are in the black market organ business. These folks consist of a meth addict goth chick, the boy from the first film(all grown up of course), and one or two more. But the ringleader is the town doctor played by none other than Pinhead himself, Doug Bradley. Pumpkinhead has been summoned by four young folks who want these schmucks wiped out. Evil doc Bradley figures it all out and sets out to kill all four of these people in order to kill Pumpkinhead before Pumpkinhead kills him. Kind of a double cat and mouse game. Pretty cool. Bits of CGI are thrown in and they look dreadful(as usual), but I was glad to see this kept at a minimum, relying instead on good old fashioned monster makeup and a rubber suited actor. This movie started to worry me in it's last 20 minutes or so coz being a modern horror film, it looked like it was gonna go for a slick, convenient, happy ending that contradicted the awesome downer ending of the first film. Luckily it was a red herring and the ending delivered in true Pumpkinhead tradition. Lance Henriksen is kinda wasted in a few fleeting scenes as the spirit of his character in the first film who pops up now and again to warn and guide. Lance is so friggin' cool that you'd think if you were making a movie and got him, you'd use him as much and the best you could. Oh, well. A spirit character can only do so much I guess. Yes, I was impressed and entertained coz this movie could have been so bad, but luckily everyone involved knew what they were doing. Bravo!
great sequal can't wait to see Blood Fued!.......2007-04-10
Solid sequal, great effects minimal CGI, and a great story tied into the origional, even Ed Harley is back. I hope they keep the great sequals comming for this great horror series. Bring on the Blood Fued!
PUMPKIN PIE REVENGE.......2007-03-30
This third entry in the Pumpkinhead saga is certainly better than #2, but a classic it ain't.
When an evil small town doctor starts desecrating the local dead by selling their body parts on the black market, some of the locals decide to call on the vengeful spirit of Pumpkinhead to set things right. This sets the stage for some gory murders and campy humor, especially with the body of one victim impaled on a weather vane. of course, revenge is never sweet and even the good guys suffer along with the bad.
Pinhead Doug Bradley is the doctor and Lance Henriksen cameos as the spirit of the original Pumpkinhead.
Fans of the original should be pleased.
Solid Sequel........2007-03-28
I was a big fan of the original film and even liked Pumpkinhead II but it was a letdown in many ways after loving the original so much. With this film I feel that it really is different and a pretty good sequel really! Amazon states it is in fullscreen (1:33) and it isn't, it is in widescreen and looks very nice! The story moves along well enough without any real lagging and everything looks pretty good here (Well, there are some BAD CGI effects of Pumpkinhead) but all in all its a good addition to the series. The gore is up there like the first one and it maintains that more sinister feeling of dread like the first film that Pumpkinhead II didn't. The acting is VERY good along with most of the effects and even Pumpkinhead himself, some complain that he doesn't look as good as the original but that was some time ago and movies evolve or de-evolve etc. This film is made for fans pretty much and it shows. It treats you to some very well shot scenes, a good story for what it is and a fun horror movie. Now, the film does have it's gross out moments with all of the rotting corpses etc which just adds to it's great atmosphere. If you like the first two you should like this one well enough. If you are a new fan definitely check out the first two first. The next installment should be out soon enough as it was filmed back to back with this one and Lance returns in that one as well. This film can't really be compared to the original and in all fairness shouldn't be. For fans its a must have, for new viewers it is at least worth a rent if you like low budget monster movies.

Bloody Awful!.......2007-05-28
What can I say about this movie...Don't do it people, just don't do it.
Buy it that is. If you have to see it, borrow it if a friend has it, but don't pay good money for it. The first Pumpkinhead was I believe a good story, not great, but enjoyable nonetheless. This, this was just...Words fail me. Need I say more!
underated movie.......2007-02-04
i dont know why people hate this movie so much. i think its a pretty good movie and it has some cool special effects.
Pumpkinhead? I think not........2007-01-29
Being a big fan of the original, I watched this movie expecting what the title promised: A sequel. Instead I got a movie with bad acting and a plot that had absolutely nothing to do with the original. There are a few good death scenes in this film, but the cheesy ending ruins whatever saving power those deaths would have had. Do yourself a favor and skip straight to the third installment.
nice sequal.......2007-01-01
great sequal to an awesome horror picture. Absolute gore fest, with a cool story, how can you go wrong?!?!
What did you expect?.......2006-02-24
It's a horror movie and it's good for its genre, it's all about the creature.
