Description
Paul Weil is a student at a prestigious art school when a series of events leads him to question the purpose of his art in a world driven by commodity. He then drops out with only one semester left and moves back home to a family that quickly loses patience with his lack of decisiveness and direction. "Invisible Mountains" invites viewers to experience the intense visual and aural perceptions of Paul Weil in this portrait of a young artist struggling between selling out and staying true. A comical cast of characters, a muse and a mentor accompany Paul in a journey to overcome his self-imposed boundaries. Will they inspire him to finish the painting demanded by a prominent art broker with a powerful client and a set deadline?
Winner of the "Best Feature" award at the 2003 DV Film Festival, "Invisible Mountains" features a traditional Hollywood narrative style augmented by gripping animated sequences, innovative sound design and a haunting, bold original score.

Amazing Accomplishment for First Feature.......2005-02-05
The reviews tell all! This film is a strong effort by first-time feature filmmaker Rich Hoffmann. The film is relevant for anyone who can relate to the walls we create, consciously or unconsciously, that block our ability to accomplish our goals. It is even more appropriate for anyone with a creative streak, or, if you know people of an artistic nature. In addition, the film is a must-see for anyone interested in exploring new ways to incorporate animation with live action; this film pushes the boundaries of how animation is traditionally used, and does so beautifully. I recently visited their website and was quite impressed by the amount of information they make available for such an independent film, and there are some great links for networking to local artists' websites as well. This is a must-see!
