Take a Hard Ride.......2007-03-12

One of my favorite western movies. I have always liked Jim Brown's westerns. He was in great form in this one. Lee Van Clief was great as the bounty hunter. The surprise was Jim Kelly. Some of his best martial arts fight scenes are on this movie. This is the type on movie I can watch over and over again.

Brown and Williamson Soul of Film.......2006-05-01

"Take a Hard Ride" barely transcends the routine. What distinguishes it from other films of it's ilk is the chemistry between Jim Brown's iconic trail boss and Fred Williamson's suave gambler. The two riff off each other like a smooth running machine. One could only imagine if their talent were better utilized by more skilled craftsmen like, say, Sergio Leone. A bonus is the presence of Leone veteran Lee Van Cleef who may be grayer but hasn't lost any of his steely eyed menace. The film disappoints, however, because it doesn't deliver on the promise of a satisfying showdown between Brown and Van Cleef's characters.

Fun & Exciting Western. A Tribute to the Genre........2005-12-17

This is the type of film they don't make anymore (sadly). A good, old-fashioned, western. Jim Brown's the stalwart, Fred Williamson's the charltan you don't know how he's going to turn, and Jim Kelly's the one who's tougher than both of them. To top it off, the old pro Lee Van Cleef is along for the ride, and he'd like to see all of them dead.

We also get to see seasoned vets Dana Andrews (albeit in a small, but pivotal, part), and Barry Sullivan. And Harry Carey, Jr., who's one of the most likable people in filmdom (I know. I've met him.) is memorable as a scuz.

To top it off, Jerry Goldsmith has one of his most memorable scores, and that's saying something. The music for TAKE A HARD RIDE is every bit as outstanding as Goldsmith's westerns such as 100 RIFLES, RIO CONCHOS, and BREAKHEART PASS.

A good actioneer, and a fun western.

Raw and Gritty.......2007-01-05

Awesome DVD!! If you are a DBT fan but have never seen them in person,, this is pretty close.. watch this then go see them... they are even better now.. I own every thing they have ever put out and would rate ther live performance as good or better than any act I have ever seen.. including Petty, Dylan and Clapton. This band is truely underated. The imagery and mood that the music evokes is amazing. Some how they make a dark song sound how a thunderhead looks. and a sad song sound like tears at a rainy funeral.. you won't be disapointed.

This is one of the best concert dvd's I have. You surely can find other titles with better audio and picture, with musicians with better technique and better hairstyle but we're talking about ROCK'N'ROLL, and this dvd is everything a ROCK'N'ROLL fan really needs: great songs played with passion by a brave and inspired band.

This One Sold Me..........2006-09-09

I watched this DVD having only heard of the DBT's and never hearing any songs. I only knew they were Southern. I was mesmerized from the get go! Then, after each frontman sang his piece, I was floored. Was this the same band? Each tune was a little different as all three guitar players, Patterson, Cooley and Jason each write and sing their own songs. I immediately went out and bought "A Blessing and a Curse", "The Dirty South" and 2 tickets to the show in D.C. That's the impact of this DVD.

WOW---CANT TURN IT OFF.......2006-03-17

This is one of the best, if not the best concert ROCK bands to
come along in awhile. Mike"Cooley" and Jason have great voices, and play one hell of a guitar. Patterson Hood's voice is very distincive and sets the band far apart from other bands in the industry. Shawna and Easy "B" round out one hell of a great rock band.
Where else can you go to a rock concert and have a founding member of the band marry you and your fiancee on stage durring the show?
"Cooley" is an ordaind minister as well as a Hell raising ROCKSTAR. these guys are the real deal. I just hope they hit the big time sooner so we can see them on MTV, instead of the crap they play now. I remember when MTV played rock, real rock, and these guys are real ROCK STARS.

Ounce you play this dvd you wont want to play anything else, it is that good
You can tell in the dvd, the band loves playing for the crowd and giving a great show as much as the crowd loves hearing them. true true artist who love their craft.

Real Rock n Roll.......2006-02-28

I have listened to countless bands and attended many concerts. Folks, this is the best rock band I have ever heard. I love Skynard, Led Zep, and AC/DC just like many. But, you will not find a more mechanically rhythmic, diverse, and captivating rock band anywhere.

You may read reviews where people complain about the lighting used in this dvd - well, those people have never been to the 40 Watt. Others say some really good songs were missing. That is true, but they have so many great songs it would be hard to fit them all. This is a must have for fans of the band and for fans of great rock n roll.

It has some decent features it's really a show movie no real races except a couple scenes but has lots of show coverage and the models aren't bad either. Decent video if your into the show scene.

Save your money.......2004-01-26

I dunno what the guy below me is smoking but this video sucked. It is filled with a bunch of interviews and stupid interludes and not nearly enough car footage. It just drags on for an hour and a half and doesn't show anything worth the money I spent on it. Unfortunatley most other import racing videos aren't much better. But the street fury series, midnight street racing, and redline are way better than this.

I've been into the sport compact car scene for years, and have been reading all the magazines, watching all the videos, and now, watching the TV shows. I have to say, this is the best out there. Its better than all of the other videos, combined. If you want to save money, forget all the other videos, and just get this one!!!! 360 Video rox!!!!!
