Director John Waters creates here a wickedly funny--and nasty--comedy starring Kathleen Turner as the ultimate suburbanite: a woman so obsessed with suburban perfection that she kills a neighbor for not separating her recyclables. Hubby Sam Waterston and kids Matthew Lillard and Ricki Lake don't have a clue that in fact it is squeaky-clean mom who is the killer at large in their Baltimore neighborhood and who has murdered, among others, the guy who dumped her daughter. The final courtroom scene is a riot, turning her into a celebrity defendant (long before O.J.) and featuring a terrific cameo by Patty Hearst (yes, that Patty Hearst). Not for the squeamish or the easily offended, Waters's fans will find him in classic form. --Marshall Fine

4 out of 5 stars A "Different Movie" not what you'd expect!.......2007-05-13

That's for sure! I saw some of it being made too! In Towson MD!

5 out of 5 stars Kathleen Turner is great...Waters went commercial on this though.......2007-03-29

This is a must have if you are a John Waters fan. Kathleen Turner does the greatest job of a suburban housewife gone whacko. Many will poo-poo this work by Waters since it is a little mainstream and commercialized, but I laughed a lot with this movie and would highly recommend it to any sicko out there.

5 out of 5 stars Are Those Pussy Willows Dotty?.......2007-03-03

John Waters did a terrific job on this movie. The casting is great. I can't believe they got Kathleen Turner to do the things she did in this movie. The movie starts out all sweet and cute with family breakfast and then some detectives stop by to question folks in the neighborhood about a lady in the neighborhood who is being sent some pretty nasty mail. Once the detectives and kids leave we then get a glimpse into the world of Beverly Sutfid while she makes a prank phone call. This entire scene is destined to be a comedy classic...Serial Mom then goes on a killing spree because some people have insulted her and her family. This movie is funny!!!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Over-the-Top, But That's the Point.......2006-08-10

When people (mostly critics) mention two John Waters films they say Hairspray and Serial Mom. The first John Waters film I ever saw was "Pink Flamingos" and until I watched this, that film was the only one I had seen. Waters made that film (commonly called the most disgusting film ever made and rightly so) to get his name out there; His plan worked. He never made a film like that movie, but he still makes films with the intention of shocking his audience. Serial Mom is a comedy that is very over-the-top and has a lot to say about the media. Having only seen Pink Flamingos, I can't believe the same person wrote and directed both of these movies. They both have a strange vision for sure, but they're very different films. Kathleen Turner ('The Virgin Suicides') plays Beverly Sutphin is the definition of a perfect suburban mom. She's like those characters you see in 60's television shows like Leave It to Beaver. She has a loving husband (Sam Waterston)and two children (Ricki Lake and Scooby Doo's Matthew Lillard) Misty and Chip. Everything seems perfect; Then two detectives show up at the Sutphin household to ask Beverly about obscene phone calls her neighbor Dottie (Mink Stole, who worked with Waters on Pink Flamingos as Connie Marble)has been getting. But, Beverly couldn't possibly be making such calls. Or is she? Pretty soon, obscene phone calls escalate to murder, which begins with her son Chip's math teacher. When Beverly is finally arrested after a series of murders, the film really goes over-the-top. The movie isn't perfect; Kathleen Turner is perfect as Beverly Sutphin, but the movie has its share of flaws. It's not hilariously funny, it's mildly funny. The comedy is more to be appreciated than to be enjoyed. This movie is entertaining and it's funny how true most of this stuff is. Look for cameos by former porn star Traci Lords and John Waters as the voice of Ted Bundy. If you like Waters' stuff, check this movie out. If you don't, stay away.

GRADE: B-

5 out of 5 stars One of the best comedies ever. .......2006-06-26

This film was made in 1994, a few years after "Cry-Baby". John Waters has a Hollywood sized budget to work with and continues his path to more "mainstream" targeted movies. But for those fans who fear this would compromise Waters' humour - don't worry, it doesn't.

"Serial Mom" has the qualities that many mainstream comedies lack. It can be seen as satire, or you can just turn your brain off and have lots of fun. The dialogue is hysterical and the cast does a wonderful job, especially Kathleen Turner in the title role. In this film, she makes one of the greatest comedic roles in film history. I also love Mink Stole as the neighbor and unknown Patsy Grady Abrams as Emmy Lou, a customer in the local video store who only rents family films - and doesn't rewind!

While this is quite different from the films Waters made 20 years earlier, it is by no means worse. This may very well be his best movie, and one of my favorite comedies ever. I would recommend it to Waters fans as well as those who aren't yet familiar with him. If you buy the region 1 DVD you get a nice director's commentary.

Greenwich Village satirist Theordore J. Flicker made one of the zaniest spy spoofs of the '60s--the ultimate in paranoia and conspiracy. James Coburn stars as a hip New York psychiatrist recruited by his mentor to take on the president as his exclusive patient. After quitting his job because of the stress, he's forced to go into hiding when spies from all sides want to know his secrets. The social and political satire never lets up, as the usually unflappable Coburn becomes completely neurotic. Godfrey Cambridge is hilarious as his cohort and former patient (his opening monologue about self-hatred is a classic), and so is Severn Darden, who plays a charming Russian agent. A true original with the utmost retro appeal today. --Bill Desowitz

4 out of 5 stars That's my car gun. *snickers*.......2007-04-10

I just think James Coburn is sexy. If you like the camp of the Flint movies, give it a try. It is not as delicious, feels more dated, somehow, not so iconic, but some good moments. Seeing lanky Coburn dressed as a wigged hippie banging a gong will give you a good long laugh.

5 out of 5 stars Required reading for anyone in the Internet biz.......2006-12-03

This film is a true classic - it captures a time, place, and mood with remarkable clarity, but moreover, it predicted the future with amazing prescience.

Everyone involved in the communications revolution should know about "TPC" and "Arlington Hewes".

1 out of 5 stars The President's Analyst.......2006-11-05

My husband and I are both James Coburn fans but we found this movie to be unwatchable. The story line is boring in that you just keep seeing him getting called in the middle of the night and then leaving the President's room. We watched this once and will not waste the time on watching it again.

5 out of 5 stars A '60s Cult Classic.......2006-08-18

This is one of the great cult classics of the 1960s. It rolls all of the political, racial, gender, corporate and establishment fears, misunderstandings, stereotypes and psychosis of the '60s cultural revolution into a big ball and then throws it at the nearest bureaucrat. No matter how often you watch this film, you always find something new that you didn't see the last time.

4 out of 5 stars Coming soon : Gulliver's Travels through the webosphere?.......2006-07-29

This 1967 movie may seem dated to some, it's a product of the now mythologised "swinging sixties" but classy, unpretentious and funny satire, like "The President's Analyst" is really ageless.

Jonathan Swift's 1726 "Gulliver's Travels" was a satire on British politics of his day. Gulliver, marooned on Lilliput, met it's six inch high inhabitants. They were in mortal conflict with similarly vertically challenged neighbours, the Blefuscu. Their war was a holy war based on different ways to crack open boiled eggs. Do you open the big end or little end first? Swift was drawing attention to how small policy differences between the Whigs and Tories were inflated into cosmic conflicts by politicians who benefited from the controversy. The story hasn't got old.

"The President's Analyst", of course, isn't classic literature like Swift but it still packs a punch. It variously satirises modern American politics, the Beatles ("the puddlians"), the power of technology (TPC's plan for "a brain chip"), the cold war (the stock portfolio of Kydor Kropotkin ), psychiatry, gun ownership, inter-service rivalry within government (the "FBR" versus the "CEA" that is much more deadly than any East-West rivalry), the bizarre "Spy Vs Spy" world of espionage (who knows how many agencies are chasing the protagonists!) and the modern corporate state (The TPC's secret agenda to control the country by controlling the president by controlling his psychiatrist).

Gulliver is our tour guide through Swift's various satirical worlds. In "The President's Analyst", the ever cool James Coburn as Dr. Sidney Schaefer, plays the same role.

My guess is that before too long this movie will be remade for the X-box internet cell phone generation. Hollywood doesn't seem to write much new material these days. It's probably more relevant today. We're already seeing RFID tracking chips ("Spychips") being inserted into dogs and cats as well as human beings. The connected always on world is an everyday reality. So intead of being dated, maybe "The President's Analyst" was really ahead of it's time.

Dein Perry's Tap Dogs is a different kind of tap-dance show, emphasizing rugged masculinity, driving rock music, and a set rooted in the Australian steel industry. Now Perry tells his own story in the 2000 autobiographical drama Bootmen. Anyone who saw the summer 2001 blockbuster Pearl Harbor will find a familiar plot: A reckless hotshot tests the patience of his mentor, but his undeniable talent lands him a rare work opportunity. He leaves behind his friends and his girl, and when he returns unexpectedly, he finds that his girl has taken up with his best friend. In this case, the hotshot is hoofer Sean (Adam Garcia, who cofounded the original Tap Dogs troupe and played the lead in the stage version of Saturday Night Fever), and the best friend is his brother, Mitchell (Sam Worthington), who had a one-night stand with his girl (Sophie Lee). Along the way, Sean decides to create his own dance troupe and put on a benefit show, which allows for elements of The Full Monty and Brassed Off (depressed industrial town needs a lift) and October Sky and Billy Elliot (father doesn't approve). OK, so the plot isn't any great shakes, but the dancing is terrific--flashy, hard-edged, and gritty, using steelworks machinery as props. If you're a fan of Tap Dogs, you'll enjoy this backstage look at the troupe, but if you're here just for the dancing, you might prefer to start with the original full-length show. --David Horiuchi

Description

Sean (Adam Garcia), a small-town steelworker realizes a lifelong dream when he's invited to audition for a big city, dance show. hired, then fired for out-dancing and out-punching the show's star, he returns home only to find his girlfriend (Sophie Lee) in the arms of this brother. Now, with only the ramins of his dream to hold on to, he persuades his old tapping mates to form their own dance troupe, much to the embarrassment of his steel-working father. A smart blend of comedy, great dancing and natural energy, Bootmen is "a real pulse-raiser" (National News Syndicate) with a "rousing feel-good climax" (Daily Variety).

Searched for this movie on DVD for years but could only get it on VHS. A gotta see movie! Aussie's do a great job!

5 out of 5 stars grinding on the rails.......2007-01-09

At first the story is a little slow, the story of two sons and a Father. Of course there's always one son who wants to make it on his own instead of going into the family business. He's interested in tap dancing. Anyway, the brothers both like the same girl. The girl gets pregnant.... The tapdancer decides to make a show with his buddies and he invents these metal plates to put on his shoes, they're not taps. Anyway, I liked it! There was music and tapdancing metal sounds. If you like music and a little drama..it's perfect for you.

OscarÂ(r) winners* Michael Caine and Cliff Robertson star in this "rousing" (Film & TV Daily) war drama about two reluctant heroes desperate to survive, even at the cost of their own allies. Thrilling, intense and harrowing, Too Late the Hero "will keep you on edge from start to finish" (Cue)! Lt. Lawson (Robertson) has only one interest in the wargetting out of it. Sent with British soldiers on a suicide mission to thwart the Japanese communications system, he finds a natural comrade in the cynical Tosh (Caine). But when the two soldiers make a discovery that could change the course of the war, they must decide whether to save themselves...or becomethe heroes they never wanted to be. *Caine: Supporting Actor, The Cider House Rules(1999); Hannah and Her Sisters (1986); Robertson: Actor, Charly (1968)

5 out of 5 stars Offbeat yet Brilliant WWII Drama.......2006-10-18

This is a little known War film from director Robert Aldrich. My dad said I should see it because it is different. I did see it and I did like it. Some of it seems to defy logic but that is what makes it so interesting. It is always good to see Henry Fonda in a film, even though his role was brief yet pivotal, in this film. The irony and ideology of the characters portrayed by Michael Caine and Cliff Robertson is at the heart of this drama and that is what makes this film succeed and very worthwhile. Gritty in nature (the jungle setting is unsettling and induces a certain degree anxiety of its own), it is one of the best WWII films to come out of the early 70s. The ending was a bit contrived but it certainly was suspenseful. Robert Aldrich remains a great unsung and unrecognized director to this day. His premature death, in my opinion, was a great loss to the cinema.

5 out of 5 stars Too Late the Hero.......2006-07-01

Excellent movie. Not your typical WWII movie. Michael Caine and Cliff Robertson do a great job. One of the best war movies ever.

ABOUT THE DISC...
The color transfer on this disc is great. Everything is vibrant and sharp Unfortunately, it was shot with the ratio of 2.00:1 and we see it in 1.77:1 (it was released in some theaters this way). The 2.0 Mono sound mix is in good shape, too. The only extras are subtitles, scene selections and a trailer. The movie was shot with 2 different endings and it would have been nice to see the 2nd ending included as a supplement.

ABOUT THE MOVIE... (FROM MY WEBSITE, www.angelfire.com/film/eurowar)

Veteran director Robert Aldrich tried to re-work the success of "The Dirty Dozen" with a blatantly anti-war remake, "Too Late the Hero". Unfortunately, an able cast is wasted in this very anti-war effort, which plays out more like an anti-Vietnam allegory than a tale of wartime heroics.

In the spring of 1942, American Lt. Lawson (Cliff Robertson, "Up from the Beach") sits lazily on a Pacific island, doing everything possible to avoid hazardous duties. Captain Nolan (Henry Fonda, in a one-scene cameo) disrupts his comfort with a hazardous assignment. Lawson is flown to the New Hebrides for a cooperative mission with the British. We find that the British hold one end of the island; the Japanese hold the other. Lawson and a patrol will penetrate enemy territory to destroy a vital radio station.

At first, the film seems utterly predictable. Lawson is a type we've seen before - an unlikely soldier who redeems himself heroically by the final act. But with the introduction of the English characters and their Japanese counterparts, all audience expectations are shattered. Captain Hornsby (Denholm Elliott), the unit commander, proves to be a bungling - and homosexual - idiot, and the men have no faith in him. Pvt. Hearne (Michael Caine, "Play Dirty") is obviously dis-satisfied with Hornsby's indecisive "leadership", and after his incompetence results in unnecessary deaths, Hearne breaks into an open rebellion. Before long, the mission goes downhill, and Lawson and Hearne find themselves united in a mutual struggle for survival behind enemy territory.

Aldrich all-too-clearly means to convey a heavy-handed message that war is bad - very bad. He's got several points to make: officers are corrupt, cold-blooded incompetents. In one scene, Hornsby is seen to shoot wounded prisoners without flinching. In the past, typical Japanese characters have been portrayed universally as evil, murderous dogs. Here, Aldrich tries far too hard to humanize them. First, he introduces a sympathetic Japanese character, Major Yamaguchi (Ken Takakura) in the second half of the film. Yamaguchi is tall, handsome and compassionate - even though he is taunting the fleeing Allied soldiers over loudspeakers spread throughout the jungle. He urges them to surrender, promising good treatment - and seems utterly sincere.

Secondly, Aldrich makes the English out as the villains. Pvt. Campbell (Ronald Fraser) is a coward who runs from battle, but also loots the bodies of dead soldiers - both English and Japanese. He stirs up dissension and even murders one of his own men who won't cooperate with an attempt to surrender to the Japanese. History has taught us just how badly the Japanese mistreated their prisoners and how cruel they were. Any movie that makes them out to be saints and paints the Allied forces as incompetent, murdering thieves needs to be scrutinized carefully. "The Dirty Dozen" made no attempts to glorify Nazism, and 11 of its 12 main characters, a band of criminals, found redemption through self-sacrifice.

The ensemble cast is what holds this piece together. The actors are all very capable and seem sincere, despite the lunacy of much of the script. Robertson seems a comfortable lead, although Lawson's character is never totally fleshed out. As the film begins, he's obviously a coward, but steps into the role of leader far too easily in the second half. He doesn't seem to struggle with his previous notions of warfare or leadership, his role has suddenly shifted without explanation. Robertson is so good, though, that this can be overlooked somewhat and is forgivable. As Hearne, Caine is the real star of the film. He's just as cynical as Lawson, but is open and blunt about it. He knows that Hornsby is incapable of leading and isn't afraid to point it out to him, even if it means a threat of court-martial. Throughout, his arguments seem legitimate, and Caine always come across as completely sincere. Finally, Denholm Elliott is exceptionally fine as Hornsby. He doesn't seem to know his role as a leader-of-men too well, and this often results in the deaths of his men and, ultimately, a botched mission.

The jungle locations are beautifully photographed by cinematographer Joseph Biroc, but never come across as particularly dark and foreboding. Here, gory death and destruction takes place among beautiful trees, ferns and flowers. Again, this is a film meant as an anti-Vietnam statement, and the jungle locations are a perfect setting.

Unfortunately, as I've repeated ceaselessly, "Too Late the Hero" can't seem to decide supposed to be a movie about a jungle patrol in the New Hebrides in 1942, not a movie about a patrol in Cambodia in 1968. The social commentary on the Vietnam War is delivered too heavily and blatantly distorted. The characters garnish little sympathy, and there is not enough action to keep the slow, talkative pace flowing. As a drama, it almost succeeds; as the action spectacular the trailer claims, it is barely serviceable.

3 out of 5 stars Murky but entertaining Aldrich.......2006-02-09

Filmed not too long after The Dirty Dozen also directed by Robert Aldrich, this film moves away from the ambiguities of that film and presents an even darker vision of war with the usual surreal Aldrich touches. A small island in the Pacific is home to British troops at one end, Japanese at the other. A continous cat-and-mouse game goes on between the two forces. When a patrol accompanied by an American along to provide Japanese translation discovers a military secret, they must fight their way back to the British base battling not only the Japanese but members of the patrol who wish to surrender. The film is unmistakeably Aldrich. The dream-like situations coupled with the very realistic brutality and careful almost clinical depictions of the military are all there. So is the underlying cynism and distrust of authority. In other words, the film delivers the usual rough Aldrich goods. However the story can get a little too strange for its own good. There is a certain choppiness as if some things were cut from the film. The motivations of the Cliff Robertson character seem especially unclear. Additionally a bit of the anti-Vietnam War angst creeps in. While it is not a film for everyone, it is very well-handled with an excellent cast. The location photography is quite striking and evokes a real sense of navigating through an island jungle. Supposedly two endings were shot. Only one is included on the DVD. This is a fairly bare bones release though the trailer for the film is included. For people who enjoy darker edged war films, this will be a good choice.

4 out of 5 stars Exceptional British War film! .......2005-08-22

I won't go into great detail about this film, as others have before me. But if you enjoy war films, and your tired of seeing the same story where the good guys win all the time. This one is for you. Too Late the Hero, has all the elements for a enjoyable war action film. This film shows, mistakes are made in war; not all go by the books, and it's not only the enemy that dies in battle. The film takes place in a jungle setting, where a simple patrol goes on a fateful mission, where things go wrong. You see some classic actors here; most British, and in my books the British made some of the best underrated war films out there, like Dunkirk, and Ice Cold In Alex. Definately worth owning the DVD on this one. Did you know when it went out of print on DVD by Anchor Bay Studios, it shot up to over 100.00 used? Good thing MGM re-released it here. But as with most MGM DVD's you won't get the inner sleeve, and you get one format here; widescreeen. If you find the Anchor Bay release you will get the wide and standard screen format, along with extras. Anchor Bay also released " Hell in the Pacific " in wide and standard format (also out of print, but re-released by MGM). Hopefully MGM will release " Play Dirty " another war film with Michael Caine. In the past it was only released in England. Now with DVD, we get to see some of the films never released to VHS in North America.

5 out of 5 stars Jayne Mansfield's Last movie was an Art Film !.......2006-06-03

After watching about 20 times (I have been a Jayne Mansfield fan since 1977),i have studied it enough to make the claim that this is (in my opinion) an Art-Film.
First of all it starts with great credits and music. The Walter Winchell introduction is just about as eery as Bela Lugosi's in Ed Wood's 'Glen Or Glenda'.The film is VERY obviously a puzzle pieced together,to make a movie(and a fast buck for her last husband, who did not have the courage to put his real name in the credits) that would have some sense, since Jayne had not finished her scenes. However,it is surprisingly coherent, even if the subplot with the 2 loser-lovers finding love ends up sounding preachy and moralistic,if compared to the mess Jayne's character has made of her life.It takes a couple of viewing of the movie to get over the cheap sets, the horrible wigs(mostly first AND second) Jayne wears.I find the first part when we see Jayne, very average. The second part, when she is in family way,REALLY bad (but also sad in a pathetic way),but the BEST is the last scene with the sailor.Miss Thing was bitter there, real bitter, and my little finger, and years of research, lead me to think that this was the REAL Jayne speaking there(that was 1966,a year before her death). She had it with Hollywood, the mockeries, the crappy movies she was offered, the bad jokes, the dead-beat husbands/lovers,and life in general. She knew she was doomed, finished, and it shows in her eyes as she is playing that last scene.AND THE BEST is when she open her eyes wide and says...''Love you ?? MONKEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY'.I have watched that scene about 50 times, finding it so powerful, and fierce !.The cheapness of the sets make the film look like a play, which is good thing(All the scenes with Jayne, basically). Also as one reviewer stated the quality of this DVD is much better than the lower quality VHS that i also have watched.
Conclusion:Jayne was NEVER an actress, but a personality. She played herself in every movie she appeared, but this time she is fed up with the Battle to be the 'Super-Monroe' that she was groomed to be,and it is an appropriate ''LAST FILM''.
So to non-fans of Jayne,it is an awful movie, but to her loyal fans,it is almost an autobiographical statement of how she really felt at the end of her sad life.Very sad

3 out of 5 stars Jayne's Last Movie.......2005-12-29

Movie was released after Ms. Mansfield's death in 1968. Jayne's last husband Matt Cimber directs the movie. Jayne looks young in the opening scene as a young girl who is soon deserted by her husband. Then, she darkens her hair and becomes pregnant and later one assumes she aborts the baby. Then, we are left with a boring segment about a late middle-aged couple who are trying to date. Movie was not completed when Jayne died, so I guess this was thrown in to piece movie together, boring. Lastly, we see Jayne as a mentally unbalanced prostitute who drives another unbalanced guy to suicide. Favorite line by Jayne in movie "Monkey" Even though, this is a low budget movie, it is a great final movie of Jayne's. I would give movie more stars if it had better quality of co-stars and better budget.

4 out of 5 stars Jayne proved to her disbelievers that she could act!.......2005-02-17

Single Room Furnished was, as everyone knows, Jayne's last completed film before her untimely death. Jayne plays three characters of a struggling misfit that never was given a fair chance in life. Until the end is revealed, movie goers find that her characters were describing one lady all along. " Eileen " was a mystery to anyone that knew her and her world was in a dark place never to find happiness.
Being a " Mansfield Fan", I truly was questioning my purchase of the film because of her outstanding performances given to The Girl Can't Help It and Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?....Now looking back over them all, it was evident that Jayne was a very
good actress and even though the film was low budget, she truly shined in this film. Give it a chance and you will see what I mean. Jayne could have been so much more and she proves it in this film.

1 out of 5 stars WARNING: Mansfiled is HARDLY IN this movie!.......2002-12-22

I bought this movie because of the description. I thought it would be a tale of an envious neighbor who is jealous of idol Jayne Mansfield. A fun, yummy script full of wit and fashion. Someone had said it is what "Single White Female" had been based on. NOT EVEN!

What I found was you need an attention span longer than the great wall of china if you want to have a chance at enjoying this movie. That and you shouldn't be a fan of Mansfield, since she is hardly IN IT! The only good scene is the end, and then surprisingly, just when it gets half-good, it stops. It ends.

In one word: BORING
In one phrase: The description (on the cover) is OVERRATED.

3 out of 5 stars Excellent quality DVD!.......2001-12-16

There is something poignant about watching Jayne Mansfield in her last film role. There is also something prophetic as well, for Jayne Mansfield would never be remembered as a Grande Dame of screen dramatics. Perhaps her admirable attempt coupled with the reality of her untimely passing make watching her performance even more fascinating. What Mansfield brings to this role is a mixed bag of hysterics and brood. But we never forget, not even during a dramatic scene in which Mansfield (with shabby Bronx accent) admits to being "in the family way", that we are watching an icon of a bygone era attempting to inhabit the skin of something "mod". SINGLE ROOM FURNISHED almost plays like a cautionary tale for the bombshells of the future. Yet that was surely not the original intent.

I first saw this picture decades ago on home video. The source for that video was so faded and tattered. For years I recalled the "faded glory" aspect of the print. Watching this wonderful DVD master was eye-opening. The colors are beautiful and the widescreen presentation shows little to no wear from the source print (except for the dates soundtrack which is the weak link here). An absolutely stellar remastering on the video level. Watching SINGLE ROOM FURNISHED 2 decades later was a revelation to me and a delight. But in the final analysis, this low-budger affair is far from perfect. But perhaps that is the essence of Jayne Mansfield's legacy.

4 out of 5 stars Great B horror flick.......2007-05-07

I enjoyed this movie just for the story alone.

Spoiler:
I liked the idea of the adopted child not knowing that there was a twin sister and the twin seeking revenge on the other.

The acting was great in this one as well as story. For those that appreciate the female nudity, there is plenty of it. To me, this was a well put together B horror flick and is highly recommended to anyone that loves B horror flicks.

4 out of 5 stars Too Sexy!!.......2006-10-14

If you like movies about sweet, sexy, totally insane females, then "Twisted Sisters" is definitely for you. The movie is about two sisters, Jennifer and Nora, who live completely opposite lifestyles. Jennifer has the marriage, career and stability; Nora, well, not so much.

Jennifer was, unknowingly, an adoptee. what Jennifer doesn't know is that she has a twin sister. This twin sister has found her and is out for revenge. Nora blames Jennifer for the hardships that she has encountered and now is her time to get even!! She starts to play out the role of Jennifer and begins to committ heinous crimes that Jennifer gets pinned for.

The movie has a surprise ending that I am not going to spoil here, but just know, if you like an erotic, chilling thriller, "Twisted Sisters" is the one for you. A really good horror/thriller.

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE HORSEY.......2004-04-07

I LOVED THIS MOVIE. IT WAS SLOW SOMETIMES BUT MOSTLY GOOD. I LOVED THE CHARACTERS, ESPECIALLY DELILAH AND SIMON. MY COUSIN HAD A HEROIN ADDICTION WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID AND THIS MOVIE WAS VERY CLOSE TO THE REALITY. I FOUND IT REALLY MOVING. I FELT VERY CONFUSED ABOUT WHO I WAS WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER AND I UNDERSTAND THE MAIN CHARACTER VERY WELL.

1 out of 5 stars An Unbelievable Trash.......2002-05-18

With the main actress appearing like she's reading her lines the story of Horsey is poorly written, poorly directed, and has no believable emotion from any actor. Primarily about an artist who turns her back on her best friends to be with a junkie who is addicted to heroin. If you are interested in this type of movie recommend "Better Than Chocolate" as this is a real bore.

3 out of 5 stars movie in a Bi twist.......2002-03-13

Holly Ferguson, Todd Kerns, Ryan Robbins. Independent film-maker Kirsten Clarkson presents a story about a 23 year-old artist who struggles with her insatiable appeitite for both men and women and her wish for a real relationship.

4 out of 5 stars Been there, done that........2002-03-04

Yes, I like this movie. As the titles introduce, Delilah loves girls and she loves boys. Unfortuanately, Delilah, a talented graphic artist, falls for a rocker who relies on heroin--enough said. Now you wouldn't think this feel good movie has much to offer. However, both the acting and script are superb and just believable. And frankly, if you've been there, and done that, what's to complain about a positive take on an otherwise unrewarding experience?
