El hacendado Diego se casa en secreto con la joven Amparo porque los padres de ella se oponen a la boda ya que Diego es de origen humilde. El padre trata de comprometer a Amparo con un español. El criado Octavio provoca los celos de Diego, quien, creyendo que Amparo se va a fugar con el español, le dispara a ella. La esposa de Octavio, enamorada de Diego, se interpone para evitar una injusticia y recibe el balazo. Antes de morir le dice a Diego que sus celos son infundados. In Spanish No Subtitles Rancher Diego marries young Amparo secretly as her parents oppose the wedding because he is not high-born. Amparo's father tries to arrange for her marriage to a Spaniard. Servant Octavio causes Diego to become jealous and Diego, thinking Amparo is about to run off with the Spaniard, shoots at her. Octavio's wife steps in to avoid an injustice and takes the bullet meant for Amparo. Before she dies, she tells Diego that his jealousy in unfounded. In Spanish No Subtitles
