Description
The groovalicious, swingin' '60s, complete with miniskirts and high-hopped hairdos, sets the stage for a red-robed monk and his killer whip in The College Girl Murders. A diabolical scientist cooks up a deadly gas and schemes to make millions. But, a midnight rendezvous with a shadowy benefactor goes awry. He soon finds himself "sent to the clouds," by the mysterious red monk's mighty white whip. The poisonous gas disappears. When an innocent college girl opens her Bible during church, noxious spray spews forth and kills her instantly. Sir John and Inspector Higgins are called in to investigate. The prime suspects include the headmistress' writer-brother and a nervous, sweaty-faced professor with a yen for young girls. Meanwhile, neck-snapped bodies begin popping up all over campus. Author Edgar Wallace, the creator of the original 1933 King Kong, concocts a fantasmic display of convoluted storytelling here, shimmied up against a beyond-groovy soundtrack that'll have you doing the watusi up until der finale ende.

I first saw this movie back in the mid 70's on Screaming Yellow Theater. Thought it was so goofy or campy or both. I think it was the first time I ever screen talked, long before MST3K. If you like that kinda thing, you'll like this movie.

I first saw this film as a kid on late night TV. The overlying sexual tension was a real turn on. Plot was silly, but the continuing thread throughout the film was the stupid murders and the dirty old man scenarios. The College Dean's sexy secretary was both erotic and funny at the same time.

This German horror flick tries its best to frighten in spite of the mediocre plot. Scariest of all is the flat English dubbing throughout this less than ideal film. Unless you can get an original language copy, skip this one altogether.
