Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt dance their way through Girls Just Want to Have Fun, a glorious example of 1980s kitsch. Janey (Parker), the new girl at a Catholic high school in Chicago, dreams of becoming a dancer on Dance TV. With the help of new wave hipster Lynne (Hunt), Janey enters a dance contest and gets paired with Jeff (Lee Montgomery), a rebel in spandex, and the two are soon smitten with each other. Unfortunately, they've made an enemy of a snooty rich girl, who vows to take them down. Everything about Girls Just Want to Have Fun is cheap and cheesy--it doesn't even have the Cyndi Lauper version of the title song--but that doesn't make it any less goofily entertaining, particularly when a debutante ball is wrecked by a bizarre combination of punk rockers and female bodybuilders. "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" is one of my all time favorite movies! I love it! This movie is definitely a "buyer." It includes all of the components of a perfect girl's teen oriented movie...friendship, rivalry, romance, dancing (competitive), and catchy songs. One of my other all time favorite movies is "Adventures in Babysitting" with Elisabeth Shue. I can watch both of these movies again and again.

The best Moment in the Film.......2007-02-16

I have spent the last 20 years searching the video rentals and store looking for this movie. Unfortunately, I could not remember the names of the people who starred in it. I could only remember the name and that there was a hot, beautiful young man(Lee Montgomery)in it. I was not even sure if he was still alive or in show business yet. I managed to find a DVD copy of it. Discovering that it was Sarah, Helen and Shannon who were starring in it. I have after watching it for awhile aside form the music and the dancing in it. I finally decide that the greatest moment is when nasty Natalie was told by her Father to "Why don't you just Shut-Up" which made her jaw drop. After all of the trouble she cause to Janey and Jeff.

This was a jumping off movie for the future "stars" of America.. . If you think Sara Jessica Parker is tooooo cute for words now, take a gander at her in this movie, she'll give you a cavity, also she's the the same size now and she was then, does she eat at all? Helen Hunt, just change the first letter of her last name and you'll see she was one in training even back then, and the cute as a button, pre-witch, Shannon D. is adorable in this, one of her first movie outings. As for the two guys, the cute one and the nerdy friend, I don't think I've seen either one of them in anything since this movie. Enjoy!

It took our daughter a little while to really enjoy this video but now she really likes it and it keeps her entertained. This DVD was originally made for VHS format so it is a little bit older but it has a good selection of songs. Our daughter is 2 and she likes it a lot.

The Big Red Car loses its mojo and strands the Wiggles in the middle of town. Jeff, showing remarkable leadership in a time of crisis considering he normally just seems to be the poster-boy for narcolepsy, hops out of the car to go visit friends. Musical numbers ensue, all of which are pretty good stuff and far superior to anything Barney ever put together. My only qualm with this video would be that Greg goes from being fairly competent in past DVDs to totally idiotic in this DVD. He doesn't know that mechanics fix cars and prior to figuring it out puts a dog and a pirate in charge of his car repair. I'm no technician, but that couldn't be a good idea.

I enjoy watching this with my youngest daughter, the other two think they are too old for it. I say, "I'm watching it and I'm older than you," but they just roll their eyes and probably think I'm crazy.

The songs are great. It was the song 'Fruit Salad' that brought me to the Wiggles years agon.

Great, safe video for any child. And if you're not careful, you may find yourself humming Toot Toot Chugga Chugga Big Red Car at work.

I had never actually watched Barney before I bought my 8-month-old son this VHS. He loves watching Barney. He watches this video straight through. Moreover, he is mesmerized by this video while sitting in front of the TV. Colorful TV commercials or Cartoons don't work as much as Barney to help us at the time of baby meals. It is a winner among all other baby materials. I wonder what it is about Barney that is so appealing. Is it normal for a baby to watch it three times a day? I am afraid to have VHS torn out soon.
I also like this video because the characters are warm and friendly while having lots of fun and singing and dancing. Due to my son's interest to this video, I have already ordered 4 more different Barney VHS/DVD.

Finally a widescreen version of N.I.M.H. .......2007-07-02

I have no quarrel with the quality of this Widescreen version on DVD; it looks beautiful and sounds great. Having said all that, I have no idea why 20th Century Fox released it on 2-discs, other than to jack up the price. For that reason I am giving it a grade of only 4 stars, even though the film deserves 5 stars.
Disc One contains the feature with audio commentary. Disc Two has a 15 minute Making Of featurette and six games for children. The theatrical trailer was not included. All the information on Disc Two would have easily fit on Disc One with room left over for much more.
I'll stop complaining now and enjoy the film...

Scary, but worth it!.......2007-07-02

I remember watching this movie as a kid. I was scared, but it's worth a rewatch anytime. It's not a movie that anyone under 6 should watch (there are heavy topics of death, experiments on the mice and the ocassioanl "d" word) but a great cartoon nonetheless that has withstood the test of time.

I saw this movie when I was a child which when I was 6. This one though was a very good redesign and re-mastering of the movie. Bluth took out Alot of the noise and artifacts of the movie. has a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound along with a commentary from Bluth himself. as a result this is a great DVD to have if you enjoy the movie Alot. This was supposed to be a HD type quality but I wasnt sure if it is or not because Im looking at this on my PC which has a GeForce 8800GTX with PUREVideo system integrated. which supposidly gets rid of the noise on movies. Overall a good DVD to get

2 Disc Edition is an Improvement... Mostly.......2007-06-22

The colors are better in the 2-disc edition, but don't let the addition of the widescreen format get you too excited - it's falsely achieved. I compared the full-frame version to the widescreen (both are included in the new release), and for the widescreen version, all they did was crop off the tops and bottoms of the images. I read the producers were kinda baffled when they heard a 'widescreen' version of NIMH was coming out, because the film was shot very near 1.33 to 1 aspect ratio, which is pretty much the size of most old-fashioned TV screens. Anyhow - get this new edition, watch the full-frame version (can't believe I'd ever be saying those words), and enjoy the commentary track from Don Bluth and Gary Goldman, as well as the 15 minute featurette on disc 2. The games are for little children, and so is the packaging. I wish there was a collector's edition release geared more towards adults and animation enthusiasts, but this will have to do for now. Best animated film ever made, in my opinion.

This is a pretty good movie. Interesting storyline about what the secret is. The bird, Jeremy, is a bit annoying for me, but I still like this movie.

This DVD, among several other Wiggles DVDs, is GREAT! My son has enjoyed watching it since he was about 4 months old and will probably still be watching after he is a year old. The wiggles are my on call babysitter. And what is so amazing, is that I don't want to smash the disc into tiny bits after watching it a few times. If you don't mind letting your kid watch a bit of TV so that you can get some things done, buy this DVD.

My 2 year old loves the Wiggles. Problem was that the TV show just didn't have enough songs for him. This DVD did the trick. We've watched it so many times I don't think I could count, I could however sing every song for you! Not exactly adult entertainment, but that's not what it was made for. Perfect for the toddler/preschooler set!

My 17 month old son love the "iggles." Wiggle Time is fantastic. He stands in front of the TV and dances along (read, jumps up and down) to all of their songs. The only down side is that I find myself singing the songs in my head long after the movie is over!

I bought the DVD for my son to help him control his large amounts of energy and for exercise. I found that the DVD was benefitual for me also. There is not much time between changing positions but each one is explained in a fun and educational manner. I would recommend this DVD to anyone interested in having their children try and perform Yoga

My 7 year old has enjoyed this program. Still, I have difficulty keeping up with it. I have been practicing yoga for over two years, and the lack of transitions/ time for transitions (especially prevelant with the ABC yoga-lots of siting, standing, sitting, kneeling, standing again, kneeling, etc..) seems to wear us both out. I prefer a practice that flows from one postion into the other. This one seems very choppy. After thirty minutes, we both seem to give up a bit. That said, the instructor is very lively and funny.

My kids absolutely love these videos. My 5 1/2 year old is a pro already and his little brother, who is two, copies everything he does. It isn't too long so we can do it every other night or so before bed. Not a lot of traditional yoga postures like I'm used to on my tapes, but they are fun and get the kids stretching/moving. Me too! Definitely glad I bought them and would certainly recommend them.

I absolutely love these videos! I have two boys, ages 4 & 6. Both enjoy doing there yoga! They are learning the names of the poses, and actually correct me when I make a mistake on the names! We have been doing yoga for several months now. The boys are ridiculously bendy. They watch me and attempt to 'help' me go into a move more deeply. I cannot do half the stretching those kids do. The dvds are not condescending, they are fun, and they hold my kids interest. I branched out and bought them 'Animal Yoga'. It is horrible. I could never recommend that video. It is cheaper, but it is not worth it.
I look forward to trying Yoga kids 1. I love hearing the boys chanting 'Namaste'! Ah my little Yogis..

A little more challenging for my 2 year old but still good.......2006-01-30

I bought these to go with the first DVD release so I'd have a full set of 3. These are a little more difficult for my 2 year old but I'm still happy with them because I know that she'll eventually get more into them. Right now her favorite is the first one. We have watched these too;but, she keeps going back to the first in the series. I'm sure as she grows, we'll move up to the more difficult poses. I'm happy because I can really see her doing this for years to come and it gets me up and moving too. I can see it really helping for anger management and stress release when we get to those issues too. :)

My daughter enjoys this. She tries to impress others with her little yoga skills. I can see her concentrate on trying to do the poses. It makes her feel proud and builds her self confidence.

My daughter is only 3 so her attention span doesn't hold out for the whole show but she is enjoying some of the moves and I catch her doing some when we're not even watching it. I think once she's a bit older she'll be able to do the whole show. She enjoys watching other kids and the animals.

I am a Health/Physical Education teacher and I use this for my elementary students Pre School through 5th grade. Some 5th graders act like they are too cool to do it. But by the end of the video they were all enjoying it.

I show this video first the next lesson I play the "Silly to Calm" one. This one kept everyone's attention and worked very well during testing week.

Yoga Bust.......2007-03-20

My toddler wouldn't give it a second glance. She is a three year old that has sat through an entire three hour concert but didn't make it through the opening of this video. I liked it. However, I have no intention of roaring through yoga excercises without her. It may be good for older children. It just doesn't have that umph that catches younger children's attention.

My son has the entire Baby Einstein collection and LOVES them. I highly recommend purchasing "Baby Mozart" and "Baby Beethoven" first. He started watching these at four months. Now, he is two and enjoys the more advanced ones much better, but this one was a life saver the first year. As far as the reviewer who said do yourself a favor and buy a camcorder . . . sure, these videos are simplistic and maybe that person could have made a better DVD in their basement, but they didn't, and the maker of Baby Einstein is a millionaire. They are not "horrible, horrible" videos. Many infants and young children LOVE them, and other "fancier" videos will bore them for the most part. My son was mesmerized, and that is all that counts! Socks for puppets and all! It is worth your money to try one, although I would try "Baby Mozart" first.

Why people like Baby Einstein dvds is beyond me. Do yourself a favor, buy a camcorder, a pair of socks for hand puppets and make your own. these were clearly made in someone's basement, horrible horrible dvds. We bought the set and only opened 3, now it just takes up space. there are much better dvds out there.

The best of the collection.......2007-02-05

If your deciding on which Einstein Video to buy, this is the one. I have the whole collection, and this is the one my 4 month old son can watch over and over again. He will sit for over an hour watching this video in repeat play. The others only keep his interest for short periods of time. I even enjoy the music of Beethoven in the background. If you don't have any of the collection, definitely start with this one.

This is another wonderful Baby Einstein video. The music is great and my granddaughter really likes this one. She recognizes Beethoven's music now after watching this video over the last year. She asks for Baby Beethoven at least once a week.

Best Barney Video.......2007-05-12

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year who has alot of other Barney videos and this one is the best. I personally don't like watching Barney but both of kids do. I have to say "lets play school" is the most educational and that's what's most important. They go over shapes, colors, abc's and my toddler really participates and follows along. This video definitley makes learning fun. Even my 8 yr old watches it. She says it the only Barney video she likes since she has outgrown the rest. :)

We all wish that we could take the magic of Disneyland home after a visit. This singalong DVD captures the most popular rides and adds songs that children can sing (words are on the screen). The DVD is professionally done and the DVD is first class. Originally released on VHS, this DVD is a wonderful addition to the family's Disney library collection.

We ordered this DVD to help our younger children become familiar with the original Disney characters before we took them to Disney World! Our 2 year old was SOO excited about Mickey and Minnie after watching this several times and she really had no idea who they were before! It's always good fun to sing along to favorite songs...and we drove 15 hours to Orlando, so it helped pass the time and prepare to meet the gang :)

I'm thirteen years old and an avid Disney fan. When I was around three or four years old, I would watch this video nonstop. I was so happy when I found it on DVD, and I can't wait to watch it nonstop just like I did as a kid! I am going to show this to my three year old cousin and get her ready for her Disney trip.

Fun From Beginning To End!.......2007-04-19

My 2-year old son absolutely LOVES this video! My wife & I bought a used VHS copy of it, and from the moment we first put it on for him, he was enthralled and his eyes rarely move away from the screen whenever it's playing. We were surprised to find that it was available on DVD, so we bought it for our son's birthday recently, because the 17-year old tape was quickly wearing out!

"Disneyland Fun" was originally part of a 14 volume VHS video series released in the late 1980's; this particular video was filmed on location at Disneyland in 1990, and follows a singular group of children around the park as they participate in the various song sequences alongside many of the classic Disney characters. Even if you didn't know when it was shot, the time period is quite easy to detect with the brightly colored clothes and big hair on display everywhere, as well as the appearance of the then-new character Roger Rabbit, hot on the heels of his popularity from the 1988 film.

But as dated as the proceedings may be, there is a great deal of fun to be had, and the songs are timeless & downright infectious; they'll stick in your head like glue and you'll find yourself singing along them, even when you're not watching it! My son's favorites are "I'm Walking Right Down The Middle Of Main Street U.S.A.", and the all-time classics "It's A Small World" and "When You Wish Upon A Star", complete with an awesome, show-stopping fireworks display.

I'd recommend this video highly to anyone with children, but also as a way of appealing to the child in all of us; great fun!
