If you've got a taste for big hair, broad Texas accents, and gay rights, this mixture of white-trash comedy and coming-out melodrama is for you. Sordid Lives starts out as chicken-fried farce, as a funeral is prepared for a woman who died when she tripped over her adulterous lover's wooden legs; about midway the emphasis shifts to a drag queen unfairly held in a mental institution and the dead woman's grandson, an actor in Los Angeles who hasn't come out to his mother. The tone shifts wildly, and the humor depends on your fondness for the white-trash genre--if you like it, this will tickle your ribs; if you don't, it'll fall flat as the panhandle landscape. But it must be said that the cast (including Bonnie Bedelia, Beau Bridges, Delta Burke, and Olivia Newton-John) dives right in, no matter how over-the-top their characters get. --Bret Fetzer
Product Description
Get ready for laughs the size of Texas when Olivia Newton-John, Beau Bridges, Bonnie Bedelia and Delta Burke lead an all-star cast in this twisted, white-trash tale "that puts the 'fun' in 'dysfunctional'" (Toronto Sun). The hilariously sordid details about a southern family surface with a vengeance when relatives converge for the funeral of "Grandma Peggy," who died after tripping over her lover's wooden legs! Toss in a couple of feuding, big-haired daughters, a jumpy aunt who just quit smoking, the scorned neighbor from hell, and crazy, cross-dressing "Brother Boy" - and you've got an outrageous "train wreck you can't help but watch!" Sordid Lives-A true Story or fiction?.......2007-07-06
This movie is hilarious, and embarrassingly, epitomitses the south, or Bible belt. As many reviewers have said before, if you have ever lived in the south, you will almost certainly see parts of your life in it, or can relate to it. It can be a learning tool for people uncomfortable with homosexuality because it also has good, helpful ideas in dealing with that subject and others.
Don't answer that...just think about it!.......2007-05-29
We have watched this movie about nine times in the month that we have had it. The performances are great, especially Bonnie Bodelia's portrait of a mother in denial. It makes us laugh and cry every time. What more can you want for in a movie? Don't answer that...just think about it.
Rolling in the Aisle.......2007-04-11
A true classic belly laugh. There are so many good laughs in the flim, when I saw it in a theater in Palm Springs I literally fell from my seat and into the aisles gasping for breath. The big name stars are not the film's best assests. Screenplay and secondary characters carry this film throughout. See this one several times and you'll find a new laugh each time.
Sordid Lives.......2007-04-06
Funny, funny, funny. If you're from the South you'll have an example of each character in your life. Hilarious!
Fell off the couch laughing!!.......2007-04-05
Wow this movie was almost as funny as the Bird Cage!! Me and my friends still laugh about this movie as we recite lines from the characters.

For a while, Designing Women captured some of the spirit of Hollywood's silkiest and smartest, Golden Age sophistication. Debuting in the fall of 1986, this half-hour sitcom--about four Atlanta belles who either owned or worked for an upscale interior design firm--seamlessly blended an understated glamour with razor-sharp dialogue, polished Southern grace, and a ripened female perspective--a sort of perfumed but unequivocal feminism for college-educated women over 30. The core cast of stage and film veterans--Delta Burke, Dixie Carter, Annie Potts, and Jean Smart--was unusually strong, and their characters' problems and conflicts were unique to adulthood rather than the protracted adolescence common among today's comedies. The five episodes on this disc represent some of the show's strongest material, including season two's "Killing All the Right People," which--for its time--was bold in introducing a character dying of AIDS complications. Also quite witty is "Reservations for Eight," in which the Georgia quartet and their lovers bicker over gender stereotypes. --Tom Keogh
Description

Starring Delta Burke, Dixie Carter, Annie Potts, Jean Smart and Meshach Taylor.

Time to release the rest, too!.......2007-06-26
This show was one of the wittiest, most original sitcoms. It dragged on way too long, but the first 4-5 years were very, very good. The syndicated re-runs on TV are heavily edited for time, and unfortunately, most of the funniest moments have not been seen on TV in years.
While we're waiting for the complete DVD collection to be released, this will certainly do! These are some of the most memorable episodes. Watch them again, complete for the first time in almost 20 years, and remember what it was you loved about this show.
I'll wait patiently..........2007-05-09
Thank you, IowaHawkeye "Warren" for your explanation. Yeah, it makes sense that it would be too costly for now. Of all the shows out there, this is one of the few for which I would pay a pretty penny. I taped oodles of episodes with the original cast when I was in grad school. I ended up tossing most of the tapes but kept a few. I've watched the reruns on Lifetime so many times that I know the dialogue in some parts of each episode by heart. The one TiVo'd episode I have is the one where Julia helps Bill reconsider his dilemma about Charlene and his Nancy. I tear up every time. This was such a charming show, well written, progressive, poignant yet downright funny. Just like some others have mentioned, my sister is a big fan of Golden Girls while I love, love, love DW. Yes, the mention of Noel, Consuela and T Tommy Reed does bring a smile to my face. I'll continue to wait for the DVD release...

Enjoyed the series on TV.Have been searching where I could buy the series
without much success. TV-shows-on dvd website did mention awhile back
the series might be released soon, but nothing since. I did buy the best of, but this only wet my appetite for more. Once again will the power
that be or not be , please release this little gem.It was funny,it was sad,it tackled controversial and contemporaries issues , in one word it
had the lot.

No Good.......2007-05-07
This video was very very basic. If you're like me and just want to learn how to dance in the club like other girls/guys. This video isnt for you. As a matter of a fact, I can't think of anyone who could benefit from this video.
Very Basic Dance Video.......2007-03-27
This video is very basic, starting with stepping in place and throwing in a bit of grape vine, etc. in the later steps. If you don't know anything about stepping or moving this may be helpful, though if I saw the instructor in a nightclub dancing the way she does on this video I may laugh out loud.
Definitely worth it!.......2007-02-06
A few years ago I purchased a solo latin dancing dvd for beginners, and it was HARD and I was FRUSTRATED. I didn't want to waste my money again, but I went for it. She was great! I never got frustrated, and have found that when my radio is on, instead of only being able to dance to one every 30, I can now put her moves to almost EVERY song! I love it! Get it memorized in your head, and you can dance all night long. Definitely for beginners. It did what I wanted which was allowed me to look and feel good solo dancing!
learn to dance........2006-11-11
Great way to learn to dance in the privacy of your own home. Very helpful.
really good for bare beginners.......2006-09-28
This dvd is very simplified and easy for anyone, especially someone with any dance experience. If you are a true beginner in dance, this is the dvd for you. However, if you have experience in it, unless you want to tune up the basics, I think you will be left bored as I was. I could hardly get through the video. But this lady is very good at slowly explaining all the steps and showing you them all at different angles.
It goes over feet placement: how to bend your knees, roll your hips, pelvic moments, taps, points, chasses, grapevine, turns, walks, and swivels. There is a beginning level and an intermediate level, both with demonstrations at the end of all the movements put together with music playing.
Again, if you know nothing about dance, this is the dvd for you.

It must've made for a great pitch meeting: Male chauvinist advertising executive gains the ability to hear the thoughts of any woman around him. Add Mel Gibson--as Nick, the divorced "man's man" who can charm almost any woman into bed--and you've got high-concept comedy made in Hollywood heaven, right? Not necessarily. The smartest thing director Nancy Meyers did with What Women Want is dispose of this ludicrous plot contrivance before it wears out its welcome. It's fun to see Mel react to a deafening chorus of female thoughts, but his dubious "gift"--courtesy of an accidental electro-shock in his bathtub--is a mixed blessing for the audience. The women in Nick's life conveniently think in complete sitcom-friendly sentences, and the novelty quickly wears thin.
The movie improves by focusing on the fallout of Nick's predicament. Exploiting his unfair advantage, he sabotages the career of his new boss (Helen Hunt) even as he's falling in love with her; says all the right things to the aspiring actress (Marisa Tomei) who previously spurned his advances; and uses mind reading to curry favor with his 15-year-old daughter (Ashley Johnson). This two-faced scheming isn't malicious, however, and What Women Want is blessed by Gibson's amiably nuanced performance. His graceful riff on Fred Astaire is a dazzling surprise, and as Nick reforms, Gibson takes major credit for whatever depth this movie achieves. After a bit of nonsense, What Women Want has a lot to say about male and female behavior, be it noble or unappealing. It's both amusing and truthful, and that's almost as fun as a glimpse into someone else's brain. --Jeff Shannon
Customer Reviews:
Adorable movie with a classic flair.......2007-06-17
This is a charming movie with a great soundtrack and superb acting by Mel Gibson and Marisa Tomei. Gibson reaches a peak of comedic genius in the movie, playing funny and compassionate moments with equal skill. Although the movie's premise is rather absurd--a man who can hear women's thoughts after accidentally electrocuting himself in the bathroom--the viewer suspends disbelief and is drawn into the plot. Marisa Tomei is hilarious as the ditzy coffee shop girl. Delta Burke and Valerie Perrine, as well as Bette Midler, all have minor roles and are great in them. Mark Feuerstein as Gibson's buddy is also excellent. Some of the funny lines get a laugh from me every single time I watch (e.g., "The poodle give you that one?"). I loved the music, which included songs by Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Cole Porter, and more. This is a romantic comedy, and although I find it hard to see Helen Hunt as a vulnerable, romantic leading lady--I think of her more as the sardonic and not terribly feminine shrew in "Mad About You"--I thought she acted well in the movie and even worked in some "cupcake"-type moves. I love the movie and have watched it over and over, but I really think she is the one character I would have cast differently; I just do not think of her as feminine and sweet like her character in the movie, and that troubles me a bit when I watch it. This is a DVD whose extra features are worth watching, particularly director Nancy Meyers' comments on how the movie was made. This movie is a keeper that marries the modern dilemmas of romance with the feel of romantic comedies from the 40s and 50s. Mel Gibson's dance scene and the scene where he waxes his leg are outstanding, and he is entirely believable as the chauvinistic playboy who is shocked at what women think. If you want to have fun watching a movie, this is the one for you.
Great rapport between Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt . . . .......2007-01-22
This is a funny movie--Mel Gibson is so cute and Helen Hunt is great as the new boss in town. As I was watching this, I couldn't imagine any other actor playing Mel Gibson's role--he has a great self-deprecating sense of humor. Highly recommended.
i bet it's real stupid,.......2006-07-29
i have not seen this movie, nor do i EVER want to. i've only seen the previews on tv and read about it in previews. why do i think it's probably one of the stupidest, pointless movies on the face of the earth?, because i bet just about every guy who's had trouble getting girls watched it, took notes, and believed each and every single thing that was in this movie, and believed every sentence that was in this movie where you got to hear the woman thinking out loud in the movie. i bet many guys took this movie way too seriously.
well, i bet some of the stuff said in there where it has the woman thinking out loud was garbage. not all women are the same, and not all men are the same... you can't believe every thing a woman says. not all women want what that one individual woman wants and some women lie. but hey, nobody's perfect. every guy had individual tastes too, and guys lie sometimes to.
i for one, as far what i finad sexually appealing with a woman's appearance, like women who are a tad bigger. i like'em to weigh about 140 to 160 lbs. if they're around 5'5" to 5'7". yet there are guys who like petite women(i personlly don't know why).
there shouldn't be a movie that tries to help guys get girls. the movie title "what women want" was just wrong. i bet many guys thought of it as the gateway to seriously improving their game if they're looking for a date.
i personally think guys put way too much emphasis on trying to find out what women want. i don't think that should be necessary. i think it's ridiculous. i think the guy should be himself like the girl is practially all the time and just feel good about himself. not every girl is going to be into every guy... i think self-confidence is probably the most important thing for a guy to have when trying to get women.
i'm a guy and that's my opinion....
What Women Want....Does Anyone Really Know?.......2006-07-23
This is pretty much the typical romantic comedy, but with an interesting twist; the main character has the ability to hear womens thoughts. The important thing was that for it to work, the character would be placed in a lot of interesting comical situations, where you could laugh at it, without it being too mocking of womens thoughts, or too far-out to enjoy. It succeeds pretty well, however the way the character gains and loses the ability were handled somewhat poorly. The humor is good, and there is plenty of it, throughout the entire runtime. The characters were believable, and the main character eventually grew to be likable. The plot was good, and the acting likewise. The only thing that brings the movie down, is the poor execution of the gain/loss of the ability to hear womens thoughts, and the sugar-sweet ending, that was too predictable and plain boring, as anyone who's seen one of the hundreds of romantic comedies out there. No actual new stuff brought to the table, apart from the interesting and original concept of a man being able to hear what women are thinking.
I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and enjoyed the humor. The film was filled with talented acting, laughs, and lighthearted suspense. It would be a good recommendation for anyone who is bored and desires a humorous, fun movie. The idea of a man being able to read women's minds is clever and amusing. Should this ever happen, would it be classified as a gift, or a nightmare?
what kind of wine is mel drinking?.......2006-03-24
I wanted to know what kind of wine mel is drinking in the movie, i tried to get a close but no luck. So if you know, here is the adress.
www.HAMMBNN@AOL.COM don't use caps, And bye the way, i give the movie five stars.

Sergei Eisenstein's revolutionary sophomore feature has so long stood as a textbook example of montage editing that many have forgotten what an invigoratingly cinematic experience he created. A 20th-anniversary tribute to the 1905 revolution, Eisenstein portrays the revolt in microcosm with a dramatization of the real-life mutiny aboard the battleship Potemkin. The story tells a familiar party-line message of the oppressed working class (in this case the enlisted sailors) banding together to overthrow their oppressors (the ship's officers), led by proto-revolutionary Vakulinchuk. When he dies in the shipboard struggle the crew lays his body to rest on the pier, a moody, moving scene where the citizens of Odessa slowly emerge from the fog to pay their respects. As the crowd grows Eisenstein turns the tenor from mourning a fallen comrade to celebrating the collective achievement. The government responds by sending soldiers and ships to deal with the mutinous crew and the supportive townspeople, which climaxes in the justly famous (and often imitated and parodied) Odessa Steps massacre. Eisenstein edits carefully orchestrated motions within the frame to create broad swaths of movement, shots of varying length to build the rhythm, close-ups for perspective and shock effect, and symbolic imagery for commentary, all to create one of the most cinematically exciting sequences in film history. Eisenstein's film is Marxist propaganda to be sure, but the power of this masterpiece lies not in its preaching but its poetry. --Sean Axmaker
Description
Stylistically, The Battleship Potemkin serves as a revolutionary film, not only in its subject matter, but also in its unique use of montage. As a pioneer who championed a new purpose for cinema, Eisenstein proposed a "kino fist" approach to filmmaking, one in which the film attacks the viewer's senses with symbolic metaphors, rhythmic editing, and highly-charged melodrama. Includes a rare documentary on Eisentein.

A Classic.......2007-06-19
My first (and until now only) encounter with this film was in a high school film studies elective I took. The teacher showed the scene of the massacre on the Odessa stairs, and the baby carriage, and then showed us clips from various other movies that had imitated it.
In the years since I've always been glad I knew that little piece of film trivia, because it does pop up every now and again, everywhere from the Naked Gun movies to the most recent Star Wars film.
And that one scene alone probably makes this movie worth watching, if for no other reason than to be able to catch the various references to it in other films, and then pat yourself on the back for what a cultured person you are.
As for the rest of the movie...
I'd love to say that it was actually really interesting once you get into it, but lets face it, this is a silent film made for a generation with longer attention spans and lower expectations. I'd be lying if I said there weren't any parts I yawned through. However once the action does get started, it is surprising intense, especially given how old this film is.
This movie is also one of the first examples of film propaganda, and so is interesting in that respect as well. Obviously as one of the first attempts it's not perfect, and hits you over the head a little bit too hard. (The art of good propaganda is not letting the audience realize they're being propagandized). My favorite is the over the top portrayal of the evil priest.
Then again, I can think of several Hollywood movies that lack subtlety. Maybe we only notice how ridiculous this movie is because it is old and because it's communist.
I suppose it's probably pointless to debate the moral qualities of this movie because it is now nothing more than an historical oddity. It is old, the techniques it employees are no longer effective on the modern audience, and the regime that created it no longer exists.
And yet, perhaps because of my protestant upbringing, I still have the urge to examine this film and classify it as either good or bad.
Obviously this film is tainted by its association with Stalin, but the actual events portrayed in the film (the failed 1905 Russian Revolution) are safely removed from the evils of the Bolshevik regime. Can a person with progressive politics watch this movie and simply appreciate the story about soldiers who refused to open fire on the people when ordered, and instead joined in a popular uprising? This is, after all, not only the story of the Russian Revolution, but Europe in 1848, Paris in 1871, and the German Revolution in 1918.
The various historical liberties the film takes makes it slightly harder to defend. Apparently there was no actual massacre on the Odessa steps, although there were a few demonstrators killed in scuffles with the army. And the circumstances of the Potemkin mutiny are also in debate.
Battleship Potemkin.......2007-06-18
Oppressed by their commanding officers, the enlisted crewmen of the Battleship Potemkin stage a mutinous revolt in 1905 Russia, led by charismatic young sailor Vokulinchuk (Antonov). When he is killed during the violent skirmish that results, the citizens of port town Odessa join the struggle against the Czarist regime.
Eisenstein's exhilarating, world-renowned masterpiece re-creates the ill-starred 1905 Russian Revolution that presaged the Bolshevik uprising twelve years later. Celebrated for its brilliant rapid-cut montage techniques, "Potemkin" is a rousing film of great emotional and symbolic richness whose visual sweep and driving energy were unparalleled at the time. The famous Odessa Steps sequence, in which a baby carriage goes careening down stairs as the Cossacks massacre rebellious townsfolk, has been imitated many times, most recently in "The Untouchables." For 69 minutes of pure, visceral cinema, board Battleship Potemkin.
Eisenstein's incredible historical classic.......2007-06-05
"Battleship Potemkin", a vintage 1925 silent film still remains today a seminal offering in moviemaking history. Sergei Eisenstein, skewing historical facts a tad chronicles the failed 1905 Russian Revolution which attempted to overthrow the yoke of Tsarism. Tiring of oppressive rule and defeat at the hands of the Japanese in the Russo Japanese War, the proliteriat grew weary of the Tsarist regime.
News of a worker's revolution had spread to the beleaguered crew of the Potemkin. Unhappy with the squalid conditions aboard tempers began to percolate as the men were being forced to consume spoiled maggot infested meat. As a group they refused to eat a meal of soup and were threatened by Captain Golikov with hanging. When he ordered a group of protesters shot by the armed guard aboard the ship a mutiny ensued. During the violence that followed, ringleader sailor Vakulinchuk was killed.
The corpse of Vakulinchuk was brought ashore in Odessa were its was displayed in martyred fashion to the thongs of citizens of Odessa. The sympathy of the massive crowds leaned towards the rebellious crew and against the Tsarist government. Suddenly as a mass of people congregated, one of the most famous scenes in cinema history unfolded. The superbly choreographed and photographed massacre on the steps of Odessa played out under Eisenstein's direction. The Tsar's Cossack soldiers began shooting at the innocent people cheering for the Potemkin on the steps. The moving scene with the baby carriage hurtling down the steps will forever be etched in any viewer's memory.
The guns of the Potemkin blazed gainst the city in retaliation as she and her crew turned to meet a squadron of the Russian Navy ordered to engage her. They bravely steamed ahead to met their ultimate fate.
Great Soviet Propaganda Film .......2007-05-06
This classic silent film is about one of the events leading up to the Russian Revolution, the mutiny of the Potemkin and the Russian Navy.
A great film for silent and/or war film buffs. The scene on the Steps of Odessa is classic propaganda at it's best! Overall it gives one an idea of conditions during pre-revolution Russia and a glimpse into the reasons there was one.
Great Classic Needs New Transfer Badly.......2007-01-27
There is no reason to wait any longer for a better transfer of this classic. There was a Japanese laserdisc release fifteen years ago from a pristine film source; the intertitles were in Russian and Japanese (an interesting combination since the events of the film took place during the Russian-Japanese War of 1905). The opening sequence of water rushing over a diversionary dam, and of the sailors on their cots, is simply astoundingly better than any transfer we have seen released in America on any format. If the rumor is true of a 2004 digital remastering, we have waited three years too long for a quality DVD release. A film this great needs to be seen in the best transfer for its reputation to be understood by all. Eisenstein directed the details, and the better the transfer the more details will be seen. None of current DVD transfers are at all acceptable.

Audrey Hepburn plays a Parisienne whose husband is murdered and who finds she is being followed by four men seeking the fortune her late spouse had hidden away. Cary Grant is the stranger who comes to her aid, but his real motives aren't entirely clear--could he even be the killer? The 1963 film is directed by Stanley Donen, but it has been called "Hitchcockian" for good reason: the possible duplicities between lovers, the unspoken agendas between a man and woman sharing secrets. Charade is nowhere as significant as a Hitchcock film, but suspense-wise it holds its own; and Donen's glossy production lends itself to the welcome experience of stargazing. One wants Cary Grant to be Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn to be no one but Audrey Hepburn in a Hollywood product such as this, and they certainly don't let us down. --Tom Keogh
Description
Hepburn meets Grant on a skiing trip in the Alps. When she returns home to Paris, she finds her apartment ransacked, her husband dead and crooks searching for a fortune they're convinced she's hiding. As she avoids the sinister group, she becomes fond of Grant who comes to her aid. One by one, each gang member is murdered, making it more difficult for her to distinguish the good guys from the bad ones.

A GREAT CLASSIC .......2007-06-27
Charade is a great classic for any age group. Picture quality was excellent. Whenever you have Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, George Kelly, James Coburn and Walter Matthau in the same movie how can you go wrong. I rate this movie 10 stars.
Charade.......2007-06-27
This Hitchcock homage provides a last glimpse of Cary as leading man. At sixty, the actor still brings off his trademark persona superbly. Hepburn is also in top form as the put-upon damsel in distress. Deftly combining mystery, romance, and humor, director Donen creates a chic, sophisticated mood via gorgeous Paris locations and a smooth Mancini score. The villains are mean enough to be taken seriously, but exhibit enough idiosyncrasies to seem human (Coburn has particular fun as Tex). As top-drawer entertainment, "Charade" is the real thing.
Excellent all-time favorite! Incomplete transfer though. Read on........2007-05-29
I didn't want to write a complete review of the movie. No need, as so many have echoed my sentiments in previous reviews that this is a first rate movie, with first rate comedic/romantic actors. Hepburn, Grant, Matthau, Kennedy, and Coburn are superb. The dialogue is fun and campy. The plot twists are classic, and the great 60's feel, helped mightily by the amazing Henry Mancini score and Parisien setting are unforgettable and unmatched since. I must point out to buyers, and I likely am repeating other collectors' comments (I didn't read down far enough), that the hi-def digital transfer is incomplete in some places. The first instance I notice this is during 'Bartholomew's' (Matthau's) first meeting with Mrs. Lampert (Hepburn) at the embassy (20:20-30), when he is cleaning a stain from his tie. The image goes inexplicably from clear and warmly lit, to grainy and out of contrast, then back again in the next scene. A very short interval, but strange for a Criterion disc. The other instance of note is right at the end when the last few seconds of the final scene morph with the visuals and credits, not serious, but still odd. There were likely some other spots. I didn't go back and micro-analyze the DVD frame by frame. But, for the serious Criterion fan, it is worth noting. I apologize if such has already been pointed out. It still does not change the fact that this is one of the best comedy/mystery/whodunnits of all time. Enjoy!
Charade.......2007-05-13
I'm a Cary Grant fan so I natuarally think this is an enjoyable movie.
Cary Grant/Audrey Hepburn Spectacular!.......2007-05-06
Audery Hepburn stars as a neurotic but lovable woman caught up in murder, mystery and intrigue following her husband's untimely death. Enter the straight laced Cary Grant and hilarity ensues!
This is a must have for fans of classic movies, comedies, mysteries, or anyone just looking for a few hours of good clean fun!

I could barely understand what she is saying... She's either hispanic or of arabic decent. Didn't like her dance style
BORING.......2007-05-06
this was so boring i laughed at it rather than trying to do the moves. The routine was way outdated, the chick was a little too much. I would never recommend buying this, because it is a BIG waste of money. Im reselling it thats how bad it is.
Great stuff!!.......2006-11-11
Very easy to learn. Simple techniques. People who have no dancing background can easily pick up dancing routine. Recommended to anyone who wants to learn from scratch.
good for someone who has no hiphop dance experience.......2006-09-28
Personally I found this dvd to be a waste of money. I was buying it to tune up on some of my hiphop moves since I havent been out dancing in a while. This dvd is VERY basic. If you do not know anything about hiphop dancing this would be a great dvd for you to learn off of. She goes through the movements fairly slow and with a couple of different angles, but she tends to move around her dance floor a lot which can make the angles a little odd and hard to follow if you are doing it as she is doing it. If you are trying to learn new moves, this is not the dvd for you. These are older basic hiphop moves she shows you. Also, I would use your own music to go along with this dvd, the music is pretty cheesy and is not the hiphop most people are accustomed to.
Neutral.......2006-04-01
I wasn't a huge fan of this dvd. I bought it hoping I could learn some hip-hop steps. In the dvd the only person teaching you is the girl on the cover. Also the angles at which she shows the dance moves are odd at times. It isn't really much of a beginner dvd. The routines aren't hard, but she doesn't do an amazing job of teaching them. I'm not satisfied with my purchase, but maybe that's just me.

This typical but well-made action movie, which spawned numerous sequels, means to combine the best elements of the disaster movie with the hard-boiled attributes of traditional action-adventures. When a plane is hijacked to the Middle East by Palestinian terrorists, the Pentagon calls into action the Delta Force, an elite squad of highly trained commandos led by tough guy mainstay Lee Marvin and karate-action-star Chuck Norris. Their mission is simple: to thwart the terrorists and rescue the hostages, and the plot concentrates largely on just that, as the team uses its experience and fighting skills to get the job done. Its sometimes preachy patriotic bent occasionally gets in the way of the action, and Norris is a one-dimensional figure who at times takes himself too seriously, but his rapport with easygoing veteran Marvin moves the film over some implausible rough spots. While not a groundbreaking contribution to the genre, Delta Force impresses with its straightforward tough-guy style. --Robert Lane

Very Good.......2007-01-09
Most likely my favorite Chuck Norris movie of all time. They rarely show it on TV so I knew I would have to buy this DVD online. It's a great investment.
Since Norris is on his motorcycle, the action is intense, sweaty, and fast..........2006-12-26
Few countries in the world have not suffered from terrorist violence over the past three decades... Domestic and international terrorism is now at the top of the agenda for most nations...
Experts agree that there is almost always a strategy behind terrorist actions... Whether it takes the form of bombings, shootings, hijackings, or assassinations... Terrorism is neither random, spontaneous, nor blind; it is a deliberate use of violence against civilians for political or religious ends...
Terrorist acts are often deliberately spectacular, designed to rattle and influence a wide audience, beyond the victims of the violence itself... The point is as Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said at the Pentagon one day: "Terrorism must be vigorously opposed and soundly defeated wherever it exists."
The Delta Force was secretly created in October 1977 by US Army colonel Charles Beckwith in direct response to numerous, well-publicized terrorist incidents that occurred in the 1970s.
The number of terrorism attacks was at its highest in mid-1980s... Palestinians have long been associated with terrorism, including suicide bombings against Western targets and kidnappings in war-torn Lebanon during the 1980s...
Menahem Golan's 'The Delta Force' is inspired by the 1985 hijacking of TWA, which featured the famous footage of the plane's pilot leaning out of the cockpit with a gun to his head... The film opens with two fanatic terrorists taking over an American airliner bound from Athens to Rome and New York, diverting it to Beirut...
With no other option, the Pentagon decides to send the 'Delta Force' into the area for an emergency rescue operation...
Colonel Alexander (Marvin) is given the go ahead, and his elite team - specialized in rapid infantry assault, night fighting and airfield seizure - led by Major McCoy (Norris) energetically meets the terrorists...
Since Chuck Norris is on his motorcycle, the action is intense, sweaty, and fast...
Chuck Norris uses a night light because the dark is afraid of Chuck Norris........2006-08-08
I would say this is the great Chuck Norris movie, no wait, the greatest movie of all-time except for one thing. And that is that all Chuck Norris movies are created equal and better then the movies like the Godfather, Schlinder's List, Back Door Sluts 9, and Braveheart combined. Chuck Norris is a much better actor then Tom Hanks and Marlon Brando because he knows karate. Hell Chuck Norris invented Karate as well as Judo, Kung Fu, and Hamster style Jap Slapping. Do yourself a favor and buy this movie so you can call yourself a man. And if your a woman buy this movie and pray Chuck Norris comes to your house and gets you pregnant.
This message was approved by Chuck Norris.
You people are missing the point.......2005-12-29
Chuck Norris does so much damage in this movie that it makes up for every negative aspect of the movie. Chuck Norris is so incredibly awesome, and all action sequences involving Chuck Norris had me raising my fists and shouting "YES!" This movie is a classic, not because of the acting or the costuming or the props (I found it amusing that the entire Delta Force was armed with Israelian mini-Uzis)or the story even, but because Chuck Norris kicks so much ass. Chuck Norris unarmed is deadly enough, but give him a sub-machine gun, bazooka, or motorcycle tricked out with machine guns, rocket launchers, and mortars, and he is the most deadly creature to ever walk the Earth, and the terrorists in this movie learn that fact the hard way. I recommend this movie to anyone who understands how truly awesome a Chuck Norris movie can be. Also, check out Octagon. The first half of the movie is boring, but it picks up after Chuck Norris bangs a hot brunette and then sneaks into a secret ninja training facility to slaughter countless ninjas and avenge his brother who died at the hands of the ninja-master. Chuck Norris is just so awesome.

Description
You See Me Laughin' is a full length documentary that takes a look at the often untamed lifestyles of the last great North Mississippi bluesmen and the Oxford, MS based label- Fat Possum Records- that struggles to record them. The film is an exciting collage of exclusive interviews, live performances and personal anecdotes. It includes rare, black and white footage of RL Burnside from 1974, disturbingly funny stories about touring told first hand by Iggy Pop and John Spencer Blues Explosion as well as an interesting encounter with Junior Kimbrough described by Bono from U2 and much more. This is not for the faint of heart.

Want To Know Where Your Music Comes From?.......2007-03-28
Rock and Roll is the prototypal American music. Maybe Jazz was at one time, but it's Rock now, and has been for the last 50 years. Where did rock come from? A smattering of Jazz may have been involved, but Rock mainly arose from the atomic explosion that was black Mississippi delta blues traveling North, and running smack dab into white Appalachian hillbilly music travelling West. The mushroom cloud rose over Memphis, and on top of it sat the teenaged Elvis Presley. But what was Elvis listening to? Where did he get his raw material?
One of the two sources is on this DVD. Like an archeaological expedition, the filmmakers unearth an untouched civilization: Mississippi hill country blues in an amazing, extant form: THIS is the music, the sounds that travelled North, that reverberated 50 years ago out of the Delta to catch the imaginations of young people all over the world - everyone from the aforementioned Mr. Presley to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones on the other side of the pond. They recycled it, and sent it back to us. This is ground zero for Rock. Just as an embryo mutates, develops, and finally morphs into something quite unrecognizable from its original form, so has Rock moved many varied distances from its roots. But roots there are, and this is about as close as you're going to get without reading about it in some "History of Rock" book. This IS the history. Enjoy.

Last of a dying breed.......2005-08-07
This is the real deal...back-porch players in their own delta environment who don't give a tinker's damn about anything but playing their music, drinkin', and enjoying what's left of thier time on earth. Their sensibility is miles away from the music business as we know it, and thank God for it because most people are completely oblivious to southern blues musician mindset and would probably never have a chance to "get it" otherwise because most of these players are truly a dying breed.
This film captures the heart and spirit of real African-American bluesmen who are still poor after being semi-famous for years...and they really couldn't care less. R. L. Burnside in particular has been releasing albums and playing around for years, been reviewed and celebrated in all the best rock and indie-alternative press, and still lives like any poor, black rural working man. These guys don't care about fancy boutique amps and expensive "guitar show" instruments. They make all the sound they need from a typical hodge-podge of beat up pawn shop instruments, playing in some cases with simple buttern knives when their hands no longer work.
If you understand the connection that the ancient African music traditions have to roots American music, look no further than this movie as an example of how it was preserved and passed on in the new world to this present day. This film may be one of the last testaments to a culture that will surely disappear soon in this 21st century.
the real deal.......2005-05-11
if you enjoy music, you will enjoy this dvd. this is the real deal. these guys dont care about careers, success etc. this is pure art, pure emotion. if you watch this (and it resonates, i.e. you "get it") most other music will become irrelavant.

Wow! What I never knew!.......2007-04-18
JFK: The Case for Conspiracy spells out all the information that the Warren Commission never told America. As young as I was in 1963, I remember that awful day well. In those days, there were only the three Networks, NBC, CBS and ABC, and all three had no programing other than the Kenndy Assassinastion. We believed what the media told us. There was much the media did not tell us because the government covered things up. We have come a long way from those days. This DVD beautifully lays out the case for Lee Harvey Oswald not being the person who shot Kennedy, inspite of the Warren Commission's assertion that he was the lone gunman. Every history teacher who teaches about this time in American history needs to watch this.
JFK: The Case for Conspiracy.......2007-02-21
This is the most definative presentation of all the Kennedy Assasination materials availble for review. By far the most factual. When all eyewitnesses are interviewed and all the Doctors at Parkland and all the eyewitnesses at the autopsy are heard, there leaves little doubt to the conclusion. There's no fluff just fact. I own all other presentations and the Peter Jennings presentation is on the other end of this spectrum. The 3D animation is so ridicolous and unaccurate relative to the Zappruder Film I can't believe it and neither should you. A cartoon which never accounts for the 3rd bullet hitting the President in the back as shown on Zappruder Film and no interviews with the Parkland Doctors or Bethesda Staff of x-ray teams who say " That's not the x-rays we took." What kind of reporting is that. John Kennedy has been dead a long, long time now and the events that occured the day he died are more than just a compelling story. It's hard, or mabey not so hard, to believe that a grand conspiricy took place because Kennedy had an agenda that did not set well with many people from many powerful places inside and outside government. The mission was accomplished. It dosn't matter who did it but it does matter that more than 1 person did. Although the Congressional Panel concluded that as fact, that's as far and as much as we will ever get. If you want to know what happened and get on with your life, JFK: The Case for Conspiracy, is the only choice if you just want the facts and hear the real eyewitnessees tell the story.
My Review.......2007-02-10
Good video. A lot of the same information found on other videos with a few new things I noticed.
GREAT INFORMATION !.......2006-09-15
This film is full of information that I havent seen on other JFK films! Its well worth the few dollars I spent for it! So many witnesses present at the autopsy dispute the warren commission report photos its unbelieveable! How does the country still not give us the truth on this matter???
excellent dvd.......2006-09-02
the warren commission set out to investigate the murder of JFK was actually a prosecution attorney against oswald!the fact remains that the govt was never able to prove that oswald posses or handle any weapon on the day of the assasination!they found no immediate fingerprints on the rifle only three days after his death were they able to lift a smudge palm print!highly suspicious???Paul rudy funeral director testified that agents came into the morgue where Oswald was and finger printed him he said he had a tough time removing the ink!!!highly suspicios!!the single bullet theory never happen becaue the throat wound that kennedy sustain was an entry wound and never exited!in fact it was 6 inches below the neck-never exited!as kennedy's cloth prove! when the commission found evidence that contradicted their preconceived conclusion they would ignore the matter all together this habit was repeated through the investigation!!
