Description
This movie shows how a woman can engender dangerous passion in two men. Barbara is a beautiful young woman who lives in the tropics and is going to marry her sailor boyfriend. While the boyfriend is away, a painter arrives in town and asks Barbara to pose for him. Barbara and the painter fall in love and will have to account for themselves when the sailor returns. A confrontation leading to tragic consequences is inevitable

Customer Reviews:
la gaviota.......2003-09-17
I have seen this movie in i954, in my native Cuba, I have this Video, and I have been watching it, so many times, is passionate story set in a sea port , somewhere in the tropics, the story is somehow "original and unique", somewhat different than others made in that way. The ending is a real surprise.Maria Antonieta Pons, the great Cuban Star, is (as always) superb, her performance is sensational, and she looks terrific in this movie. A real succes for Maria Antonieta. The supporting cast, also very good: "Good looking" Joaquin Cordero, Dagoberto Rodriguez, Jose Elias Moreno , and , the best: Beatriz Ramos as the Hotel Owner. Good to have this video and watc it sometime. Miss Pons at her best.
2 men in love for a beautiful young woman who enjoy dancing.......1999-08-23
The apassionate life of a beautiful woman who everybody used to call "La Gaviota" (The Gull). Dancing every day in the port, incited passions very hard to control that in the tropic can cause the life of men. This is a movie of love & violence. Maria Antonieta Pons is sensational.
