With a little old-fashioned good luck, the help of an expert deal-closer, and a wealthy financier, John finds the necessary funding to launch Digital Dreams. Just as quickly as their first million is made, their good intention is replaced by the intoxicating success of fame and fortune, fast cars, and faster women. Caught in a spiral of deceit, John soon loses sight of his original vision and betrays his girlfriend. Now, John finds himself forced to betray everything he once held dear or risk losing it all. Awesome!.......2007-06-22
This DVD is a MUST have! Purpose by Design is one of the most powerful life-changing albums you will find. Most of the songs Fred performs on this DVD are from that album. Although he throws in a few of his classics from "Spirit of David" and other albums.
The spirit of God is very present in the Las Vegas MGM crowd as Fred ushers them into an amazing worship time. You will wish you were there live.
My favorite part of the DVD is when Fred shares about how we should be thanking God every day. "Thank you God for a bran-new mercy, for a new day, Thank you for a day I've never seen." It's SO powerful.
Get this DVD for your private worship times. Get it for those you love also. It's awesome and you will literally feel the presence of God as it plays on your TV.
Praise and Worship experience.......2007-05-14
This is a must have for your library if you are a worship leader. If you are a worshipper this is a must have. This is an excellent template if you are a beginner in praise and worship. Highly recommended.
Great Performance, poor dvd.......2007-03-13
I love this concert it is so fabulous. But the sound is not synchronized (on my dvd) and it throws off the total effect. If not for that I would have rated it 5 stars.
Fred Hammond is THE MAN!!!!!!!!!.......2007-02-06
I'm a long time fan of Fred Hammond. I have all of his Cds and DVDs, this one I think is a tie with Live from Chicago which is my favorite of Fred's productions. You can't go wrong here, anything Fred does is great. Big Mo (Maurice Fitzgerald) kills the bass, he's the best bassplayer out there right now. Stop reading this and order yours already!!!!
Classic!!!.......2007-01-30
Without a doubt the best Fred Hammond live perfomance recorded! The opening Medley will blow you away, and that's just them getting started! "Please don't pass me by" is incredible and intimate rendition featuring a then little known Israel Houghton on accoustic guitar. It's about time they turned this in to a DVD!!!

Another Great DVD by Bruce.......2007-03-05
I enjoyed this DVD and learned a lot about the Vine talked about in the Bible. If you are a brand new Christian, get his "Life God rewards" DVD first, then this one. I really treasure this DVD, not sure what else I can say!
Excellent Series on How to Be More Fruitful for God.......2007-01-02
This is about the third or fourth video series I have watched by Bruce Wilkinson. The content of Secrets of the Vine is excellent, just like his other series.
The content is as follows:
1. Help us discover what we were born for - a life of abundant impact and significance for God.
2. Discover what God desires for you and how He works in your life to help you bear fruit for Him.
3. Discover the secrets in how God brings you from unfruitfulness to fruit-bearing.
4. The various stages that God brings each of us through to bring us to fruitfulness.
5. Find out how God brings us to more fruit.
6. Learn more about how God works in your life and what He wants for you.
7. Desiring a deeper relationship with God that will make us a blessing to those around you.
8. Discover how to come to joyful abundance in your life.
One of the points made that most affected was the reminder that instead of working more for Christ, we need to abide (spend more time) with Christ. When we abide, then we will experience more of His power in our lives and produce more fruit for His glory. In today's fast-paced lifestyle, I needed to hear this point again to remind me that apart from Jesus Christ, I am utterly helpless and hopeless without Him. With Him, I have all I will ever need!
Highly recommended. Watch, enjoy, and be challenged!
opening scriptures to the understanding.......2005-12-24
What a fabulous work this is. We are viewing this series in our Sunday school sessions and more than once I've put my face in my hands to hide my emotions at the overwhelming love and patience that God has for us. Bruce Wilkinson does a beautiful job of teaching these truths. His voice is just right, his style is attractive. He uses himself as an example of the common error experienced by christians everywhere - we try to do "good works" in our own strength and we burn out. Bruce shows the scriptural answer to the problem and it is a huge relief to discover that God is just waiting to do it for us, in us. For me, this is the best teaching I've ever received in my christian walk in 35 years. God bless all those who partake of the grace of God.
ABIDING IN CHRIST AND BEARING MUCH FRUIT.......2005-04-25
This great DVD explores John 15 the vine and the branch parable. It shows the walk of a believer and the steps we enter into with this life in Christ. Bruce does a wonderful job with great visuals about vineyard caring and why pruning and other activities that seem destructive are so important for true growth. I loved this DVD and the message of steps of growth and the importance of abiding in Christ. Because of the great props used in this DVD you see what Jesus was actually describing and the nueances of a vineyard are explored. This is a great exploration into the importance abiding in the word and in The Father to bear much fruit for the Kingdom. By abiding in Christ this bearing fruit is not works of the flesh but of the True Life of Christ flowing into us and then through us. You cant go wrong getting this DVD. Be blessed JB
on being pruned and abiding.......2004-07-12
This series of four sessions teaches some profound truths based on John: 15, "I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser", and how Jesus symbolically used the grapevine to illustrate His words. "Secrets of the Vine" was Dr. Wilkinson's second book in his "Breakthrough Series" (the best-seller "The Prayer of Jabez" was the first, "A Life God Rewards" the third)), and he demonstrates on a vine that is part of the set just how a vinedresser trains and prunes the vine for optimum fruit, and compares God's discipline and pruning (though they may feel the same, are quite different), and how God uses each for opposite purposes.
The fruit of the vine symbolizes "good works", and the set also includes four big baskets, that contain from zero grapes to brimming with clusters, and the four "Sessions" are on how we can get from the empty basket to the destiny God has in store for us, and have a life overflowing with goodness by following His will.
Dr. Wilkinson has inspired me in my walk with the Lord, and I find his series of films a great help. Biblically based and put forth in a format that is well organized, these Sessions can be heard repeatedly, with more to be gained with each viewing, and are excellent for personal use or a small study group.
Total running time is 229 minutes.
"I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5).

This zany, over-the-top OAV from 1992 set a pattern for numerous anime properties. Elementary school student Ryunosuke is unhappy about his parents' divorce. His father is a nutty inventor, his mother is the president of Mishima Heavy Industries, and their quarrels achieve levels of destruction that eclipse Project A-Ko. Ryu's father creates Nuku Nuku by transplanting the brain of a kitten into the body of his NK 1124 android, producing a well-intentioned but dangerously maladroit supergirl. Although Nuku Nuku tries hard to please everyone, she doesn't demean herself, the way the title character does in Steel Angel Kurumi. At one point, Ryu wants his parents to live together, so Nuku Nuku sets up a little fake apartment for them--in one room of the vast Mishima mansion. The six episodes are all slapstick and silliness, but curiously endearing. (Rated 12 and older: brief nudity and risqué humor, cartoon violence, tobacco use) --Charles Solomon
Description
When inventor Kyusaku Natsume transfers the brain of his son Ryunosuke's cat into a top secret android body, the family doesn't lose a pet... they gain a daughter! While she may look like a typical teenage girl to the rest of the world, Nuku Nuku's feminine exterior hides the superhuman strength and abilities of the NK-1124 android chassis, making her the most potent fighting force ever unleashed upon an unsuspecting Japan... and the ideal bodyguard for Ryunosuke! But can even Nuku Nuku keep her young charge out of the insidious clutches of the ruthless Akiko Mishima, president of Mishima Heavy Industries (M.H.I.), financier of the NK-1124 project, Kyusaku's ex-wife and Ryunosuke's mother? The greatest custody battle of all time erupts in a conflagration across Japan as Akiko unleashes the full force of M.H.I.'s military products division, manned by her elite team of Office-Lady Warriors, in her bid to win back Ryunosuke.
Customer Reviews:
The cutest cat-girl of them all?.......2004-09-28
By now any serious anime fan should be familiar with the Japanese cat-girl stereotype. A hyper-active, supercute, super-girl. I'm not sure where this idea started, but I can tell you one thing. One of the best examples of the genre I have ever seen is this OVA. What makes it a classic? Is it the perfectly insane (perfectly hilarious?) mad-scientist father? The crazed mother who is alternately a business woman fanatic that would remind you a military commander (with a hilarious over-the-top personality) and (can you believe it?) a super-sweet, delicate as lace angel obsessed with her son's welfare? Or perhaps it's the ridiculous fights and explosions through the series which never result in anyone getting killed (or even seriously injured) despite what looks like hundreds of millions of dollars of property destruction? Or could it be the heavy-artilary carrying duo henchwomen or the super-aggressive (pint-sized) android, all of whom are all obsessed with destroying the main character in some wild scheme? Na.
What really makes this series is the main character. Nuku Nuku is undoubtedly one of the greatest characters in the whole history of anime. She's a super-powered android in the shape of a beautiful teen-ager with the brain of a cat. All things considered, she's almost impossible not to love. Her look is very attractive, yet very sincere. She's cute and extroverted and silly, yet fiercely loyal and self-sacrificing. She only wants to use her super-powers for good (not to show off), and yet finds herself unwittingly part of battles of mass destruction. She considers her creator and his son to be her family, and loves them dearly. Ultimately it's the pure heart of her character that makes her so compelling, and the reason why everyone loves her.
You could watch this dvd in English, but that would be a crime. The Japanese language track features some of the finest voice-acting you will ever find. Everyone does a great job, but the voice actress who plays Nuku Nuku is PERFECT. In fact I'd go so far as to say that this series would be greatly diminished without her voice acting, as it truly is spectacular.
I should also mention that this series has great artwork (especially considering when it was made), and a great soundtrack as well (I never get tired of the first opening theme).
This is not only one of the best OVAs ever, it's also an anime classic. If wacky Japanese comedies aren't normally your style you may want to just rent this one. If on the other hand, you've been searching far and wide for a anime comedy featuring a super-powered, super-likable cat girl with a heart of gold, you've hit the jackpot.
3rd greatest thing I have ever seen, EVER.......2004-03-21
First, I'd like to note that I agree with the reviewer beneath me, Michelle Klein-Hass, 100%. Everything she said, I couldn't have said better myself (except I thought nuku just meant 'warm' so I probably would have given bad information there). But seriously, this is the greatest anime I have ever seen, by any measure, and I'd rate it as the third greatest thing I have ever watched. (i.e. the other 2 aren't anime.... #1 is the movie Remo Williams....)
I have a horrifyingly good movie/toon memory. I can remember almost word-for-word everything I have watched in the last decade, so saying it is the third greatest is quite a claim. Also, strangely enough, even though I have seen it and remember it so well so I know what will happen next, I have watched it several times and enjoyed it every time. Very few things can I even stand to watch a second time, and even after 5 years.
I do NOT agree with the reviewer who thinks it is a little sleazy. Nuku Nuku is drawn to the standard voluptuous female form, but so WHAT? If you were going to make a robotic prosthetic body, wouldn't you make it as attractive as possible? I really couldn't believe it any other way.
Now, Nuku Nuku Dash. THAT is sleazy. THIS is not. THAT is as if it were some unworthy fanfiction that somehow, by some miracle, managed to get itself produced. But I deny its existence. They screwed EVERYTHING up as well. I would suggest anyone reading this avoid it. It is a sorrowful disappointment; perhaps an offensive insult to this series itself.
I suppose it derserves a mention that Nuku Nuku is also the most endearing character of any work of fiction I can think of. Perhaps the most interesting character. (And I mean endearing in non-sexual terms. For example, Vash the Stampede from Trigun is what I would call endearing, although not as much as Nuku Nuku... and I'm not a gay dude.) She's very sweet, and yet not a simple, flat character, the way most super-nice characters generally turn out. Watch this and you will just fall in love with this nutty and eccentric, lovable cat person, and NOT just for her looks (for crying out loud, they could at least have drawn her with more than one tooth more than 10% of the time). It staggers the mind to imagine that so many other characters in the series could be so evil as to wish her harm/death. How could anyone want anything less than what's best for this sweetie?
This also satisfies the constraints I would apply to good science fiction, and not just into the anime genre. Nuku Nuku is the only one who demonstrates superhuman strength or speed, save another android, and they DO have respect for the laws of physics of our world, for the most part. Well, some times they draw things a little strangely to emphasize this or that.... for instance, a big machine changing color and shooting off steam to emphasize its human driver inside is ticked. You may notice that none of the characters have blue or green or other ridiculous hair colors... it's only Nuku Nuku with reddish magenta hair, but that's ok since she's an android after all. Basically, it does not adhere to ALL the norms of stereotypical Japanese animations (though again, they should have done a better job drawing teeth in wide-open mouths).
Purrrrrrrfect!.......2004-02-14
Gotta love Nuku Nuku-chan. This is by far the best of the three animated series featuring the perky, genki andro-robot grrl with a kitty brain and the strength of The Terminator. You meet her creator, Natsume Kyusaku, and his son Natsume Ryunosuke, as they are fleeing from his ex-wife Mishima Akiko's Office Lady hit squad. Nuku Nuku is created out of the consequences of the chase.
During the rest of this six-episode Original Animation Video series, you watch Nuku Nuku deal with the weirdnesses of being a human being. You also see Kyusaku and Akiko alternately fighting each other and trying to put their relationship back together. And you see the strong bond that develops between little but wise beyond his years Ryunosuke and his cybernetic big sister Nuku Nuku.
The DVD version doesn't have much in the way of extras, but remember that this was created in 1992, long before the era of producing extras for future video releases. It does have an amusing Macintosh-like interface that will put a smile on the Mac fans among us.
The dub isn't too bad, although giving Kyusaku a Texas drawl is as weird as Billy Bob Thornton doing the voice of the itinerant Shinto priest in "Princess Mononoke." However, you must watch it at least once subtitled, because the vocal performances of the Japanese Seiyuu are amazing, especially Hayashibara Megumi in the title role. Hayashibara-san is the Mel Blanc of Japan...she's the most ubiquitous vocal actor in Anime's golden age, and she gives a great performance here. A lesser voice actress would have just played Nuku Nuku as a bubbly, genki little flibbertygibbet. Hayashibara-san's performance gives the character depth and subtlety. The other performers rise to her example.
The video transfer is a bit messy, but it's understandable considering they probably were working from analog sources rather than digital sources.
Get this before ADV Films decides to consign this to remainder hell. This is not the most well-known series but it's damn good. And look out for Cat Girl Nuku Nuku TV, the first DVD of which will be released the beginning of March 2004. Nuku Nuku DASH!, the second NN OAV, is available now, but it pales in comparison to this, the original. Curl up, get cozy (which is what Nuku Nuku actually means in Japanese) and bask in the warm glow of this must-see DVD. Purrrrrr...=^_^=
Nuku Nuku: A one-of-a-kind Must-Buy!!!.......2003-10-09
Okay, so let's get to the point: Nuku Nuku ROCKS. The story goes like this:
A young boy, Ryunosuke, comes across a kitten when he's...*ahem* "doing his business" in the ally. O.o He desides to take the kitten home, but when he takes it to the car, his dad Tells him "No Ryu, We're criminals now. We don't have time for a cat...We hafta get this thing outta here!!! *points to a robot body in the back seat*" But then a helicopter starts chasing and shooting at them, and the chase begins.
Ryu and his dad wreck into the side of a garbage heap, and the helicopter shoots at them inside their car, and then leaves.
"Ryu? Are you okay?"
"*sniffle*...Yes..."
"What's wrong, Ryunosuke Buddy?"
"*sob*...The cat...."
It turns out the cat had been shot and killed, although Ryu and his father where still okay.
"Oh, don't cry Ryu Buddy..."
"*sob* But dad, It's all my fault!!!"
*The Dad lights a cigarette, and then looks at the robot in the back.*
"Hmmm....Maybe there is a way..."
*silence*
"Ryunosuke buddy, you're going to have the Best Christmas ever!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!"
And so, the epic saga of All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku Begins! The dad (Papa-San) puts Nuku Nuku's brain into the super-powered robot, and their comical adventures lead to Robotic octopuses, raving mad moms, catnip bombs & more!!! Quote Video Box: "All Ryunosuke wanted was a kitten...he got something just a little bit better." You will too if you buy ALL PURPOSE CULTURAL CAT GIRL NUKU NUKU!!!! *Meow! X3*
Over-the-top and yet, sometimes mature..........2003-04-26
The inventor, Kyusaku Natsume, is escaping from his wife, the ruthless Lady Akiko Mishima, with both their son and the NK-1124 android. During their escape, while they are being chased by the Lady's elite team of Office Ladies, armed with the best from the military products division of her company, a cat is killed.
Next thing you know, Kyusaku and son and new DAUGHTER (the android with the cat's brain inside) are living together, trying to have a normal life. That is, until Lady Akiko Mishima and her female warriors find them again!
While funny, sometimes down right silly, there are sometimes very mature, even beautiful, moments between the members of this wacko family. The relationships between father and son, father and wife, and even the relationship between the family and Nuku-Nuku become part of the story, sometimes in the background and sometimes in the foreground.
The six episodes, with the very modern looking menus and the extras, make it worth buying IF you can get it for a low-low price (as in used).

Silly, cute. funny, Great.......2006-07-13
This isn't quite as good as Excell Saga, but it comes close. The main character is your standard Japanese Cat-Girl who has to save the earth whilst attending a school full of characters who are even stranger than she is.
This show has none of the slightly disturbing anime idea of leering at the young female characters, it is very clean. Dispite that I still love this series :)
Anime parody.......2006-05-30
All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku (henceforth APCCGNN) is a fun show. I don't know why the previous reviewer thinks this is not Anime -- it is. Perhaps he was upset because this is a parody of Anime; in fact it shares many features with Excel Saga.
Like Excel Saga, there is a Secret Evil Organization that is more effective at costume design than taking over anything. Like Excel Saga, one character seems to have been chosen by the Will of the Universe to suffer mercilessly. Like Excel Saga, The lead character is not that bright (although only APCCGNN has a scientific explanation: she has the brain of a cat). UNLIKE Excel Saga, there is less "mature" content. (Perhaps the last reviewer thinks only shows with panty shots qualify as Anime?)
Is this my favorite Anime of all time? No, but is it a fun show to watch? Yes. Hence 4 stars.
warning!.......2006-04-06
If you ever by any cursed chance encounter this item i suggest you run the same way you came from it. This is not anime i dont know why people keep calling stuff like this anime. This seem more like cartoons that can't make you laugh. It contains an excessive cast of characters that you won't want to remember because their so anoying. The theme while it seems decent upon reading on it. But they actually don't even try you will end up hating yourself if before you even finish watching. Personally myself i couldn't go thru the last cd the storyline was not intresting whatsoever. If you actually looking for kid's anime this might be it. Wait let me rephrase that if you looking for stupid anime that your kids may hate you for you might want to get this one. Even if you just curiously bored don't do it thats what i did. It made me not to be curious no more. If your looking for pointless anime i would suggest Azumanga diaoh or Ranma 1/2. I would actually give this one /5 a star but i can't.

Glitzy MBA Crash Course.......2004-05-02
One late night, I was flipping through the channels and found a delightful movie called "Purpose." Or as it's listed in some places on the web Purpo$e.
--PURPOSE follows the life of student transformed to entrepreneur John Elias (John Light), the key player in a booming late-1990s dot.com business. As Elias becomes more and more successful, he's blinded by his newfound wealth. And the movie question becomes :Can he stay in the business without selling his soul? Veteran actors Peter Coyote, Mia Farrow, Hal Holbrook, and Paul Reiser round out the supporting cast making it wonderful to watch. Mia Farrow Some of the characters, his friends and colleagues in business, do a wonderful job of reflecting back what kind a man he could be, given both integrity and greed.
It's the story of a college student with an idea and dream that will change the world. While still at school, he goes through the process of creating a business team, the product, getting funding that many only dream of (millions), and all the things that can go wrong will go wrong in a 2 hour movie time period do. However it is an entertaining take on business in the new millennium, and a world shifted away from quality to quantity, driven by simply making money. We learn about business, while he learns to value relationships, life balance and spiritual purpose, over self-involvement and financial gain. Fundamentally, John learns that love and a sense of purpose are more powerful and more valuable than money.
Not to spoil it, but it has a candy coated wrap-up ending, but other than that it is not only a great story, with great performances (note the very good cast), but it accurately shows the problems that come with venture capital, and business startup.
In some ways, it's a glitzy crash MBA course in big business. It also is a warning how carried away things can get in startup and you can see how even a sole entrepreneur could make smaller, but similar problems.
As a business and life coach, I deal with client's running their own businesses, I watch them sometimes make the same mistakes and buying equipment that isn't needed (the example in the movie is a flashy car) or negotiating way too much of their business just to acquire capital.
There is one excellent scene. The professor of the business class, that John is attending, who hands out a jar of nails and asks the students to link them. It's a mind puzzle that accurately shows how good business works. However, even though our golden boy figures it out, he goes through the trial and tribulations of watching his business disintegrate from his original and idyllic idea.
Although his idea is brilliant and transforming, he can't just gift it to the world. He has to take on team members that seem right, initially, but end up causing more trouble as they concentrate their effort on their own agendas. John has to compromise and make decisions that sometimes alienate friends and he has to deal with making bad choices that deteriorate his integrity.
It has the quality of being a true Greek tragedy with an MTV twist and the pre-requisite Hollywood happy ending.
Thinking of going into business, getting venture capital or becoming a startup? Then it's well worth the popcorn.(...)
WHAT DRIVES YOU?.......2003-09-27
Picked up this DVD on a whim, the theme sounded relevant, and I expected an OK evening pastime, nothing major.
But was pleasantly, incredibly surprised!
Everything you can look for in a movie -- the theme, the screenplay, the cinematography, even the soundtrack -- is stunning in this film even without any big-name mavens backing it up! Which is actually quite a winning characteristic once you learn of the theme of the movie itself, that great things are achieved not by over-the-top rainmakers but by simple people with a genuine passion for what they are about..
Theme: a Stanford undergrad has an idea for the "coolest piece of software", and wants to start a company. Which he does, with the help of some friends who share the "purpose" (which, at least originally, was to make an inspired firm) and one "bizdev" dolt who lives on a rainbow rustling his dad's rolodex. This in and of itself is a puller for those among us who have lived through such a "dot com" reality. When the software has a bug, the quickfix vultures want to cash out with the usual escape route -- an IPO.
The whole movie is about the struggle of one man to prevent his dreams from being paraded publicly, by the company being acquired and sold off to people who don't know the first thing about technology, especially selling it.
There's a lot in this film to leave you introspective -- from deep questions (What do you want to do with your life? Why? Whom do you care about? What values do you never sacrifice?) to some basic fundamentals of business (How do you sell a product? What should a company be about?) Watch for an interesting test that a Stanford professor imposes on his students, that he uses to define what an organization should be like.
I wonder why this movie never made it big, perhaps because it was not backed by the bigtyke labels, or perhaps owing to its timing (bang in the middle of the supposed tech meltdown) but this is a stimulating modern-day business classic not unlike "Wall Street" of the 90s.
A passionate all-round flick with lot of heart and some fabulous aerial visuals of San Francisco. Highly, highly recommended!

Description
Pastor Rick Warren, author of the book "A Purpose Driven Life," discusses religion in modern life, especially Christianity. He also discusses his missionary and relief work, with an emphasis on the global AIDS epidemic. Then, pastor, theologian, and author Gregory Boyd joins Charlie to discuss his new book, "The Myth of a Christian Nation: How the Quest for Political Power is Destroying the Church". The book explores the growing disenchantment of certain parts of the faith community with Christianity's increasingly political bent. Boyd argues for a renewed separation of church and state within the realm of partisan politics.

Wow!.......2005-01-03
This series is alot different from the original. This is literally based after Nuku Nuku TV. This DVD is hilarious on the first episode. There are 4 episodes:
Ep.5, Nuku Nuku's Date: Nuku Nuku goes on a date with one of Ryonouska's friends, but is ruined with Mishima's rockets.
Ep.6, Heart & Soul: Nuku Nuku comes back from grocery shopping and finds cats along the road. She soon finds out that the cats mom was attacked and shot by Mishima industries. This is a sad episode so bring out the tissues!
Ep.7, A girl-Yuko: A girl named Yuko(with the voice of Cynthia Martinez) has only a mininium of hours to live, so Ryonoska runs away with her from the guards. She has to go back, so Yuko gives Rynouska a kiss before saying goodbye.
Ep.8: One of Rynouka's friends lets him use his motorcycle, but ends up getting attacked by Mishima Industries.
This series is a must have, I was surprised with the theme and element of the story. Go Nuku Nuku!!!
