Zach Braff (from the TV show Scrubs) stars in his writing/directing debut, Garden State--normally a doomed act of hubris, but Braff pulls it off with unassuming charm. An emotionally numb actor in L.A., Andrew (Braff) comes back to New Jersey after nine years away for his mother's funeral. Andrew avoids his bitter father (Ian Holm, The Sweet Hereafter) and joins old friends (including the superb Peter Sarsgaard, Boys Don't Cry) in a round of parties. Along the way he meets a girl (Natalie Portman, Beautiful Girls) with demons of her own; bit by bit the two offer each other a little healing. Plotwise, Garden State is familiar stuff, a cross between The Graduate and a Meg Ryan movie, but Braff has an eye for goofy but resonant visual images, an ear for lively dialogue, and a great cast. The result is surprisingly fresh and funny. --Bret Fetzer
Customer Reviews:
Great film, interesting commentary.......2007-07-02
In addition to enjoying this film immensely, one of the things I like about DVDs is the addition of commentary. On this DVD, I found it interesting to learn how Director Zach Braff used different brands of film (Kodak or Fuji) in different homes to get a "cooler" or "warmer" feel. Little details like that make the picture even more enjoyable on repeated viewings.
Quirky love story with panache.......2007-06-06
This is a triumph for Zach Braff who directed, wrote, and also stars as Andrew Largeman who finds that love beats the holy heck out of lithium and assorted drugs bizarrely prescribed by his unfeeling father who just happens to be a shrink. Ladies and gentleman never let your father be your shrink.
I was quite taken with Natalie Portman who plays Sam who turns out to be Large's true love, and such a kinky, quirky, beautiful true love she is. Portman eschews beauty in every scene but manages to be cute and sweet and very emotionally evolved, which I liked. She is of course beautiful and brilliant as everybody knows, but here she tries something different. She strives to be ordinary and slight but with great emotive power. Nice performance.
The sound track which reminded this old guy of something from Simon and Garfunkel, and in fact there is a Simon and Garfunkel tune on it, was the sort of sweet, nostalgia-producing, alternative rock kind of sweet angst sound that lets you know that this is what youth is all about.
Largeman, wanna-be and somewhat successful/somewhat failed actor out on loan, comes home from the big city to rural New Jersey because his mother has died, unaccountable in a bathtub--which can happen if you are a paraplegic. He deals with a childhood tragedy and acquired guilt, meets his old buds, including Mark (Peter Sarsgaard) who is a full time slacker and part time dreamer and consummate doper. Largeman unveils his sidecar mobile--the only thing willed from his grandfather's estate--with its white star on combat green, and tools around town, parties a little and meets quirky Samantha who likes to tell lies as a kind of way to deal with the world. I knew a girl like that, only she knew when she was lying--if somebody caught her. Sam figures it's a tick like Tourette's, and anyway her lies are harmless.
The movie is sweet and mildly comedic with some original shtick, and at times a bit of a tear-jerker. More than anything it's a touching love story, which I can never resist. And, yes, it's very New Jersey like Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi, although no songs by them on the track--not to mention Elizabeth Shue who was a classmate of Braff's in high school.
See this for Zach Braff who put a lot of his emotional life into the film and deserves the accolades he's received.
Terrible!.......2007-06-04
YUCK! I could not make it through the entire 1 hour 45 minutes. After the first hour, I had to stop watching. It was SO bad. It's one of those movies with VERY little plot. I kept thinking that it would get better. . . but it never did. . . . and finally, I just couldn't take it anymore. If you're interested in death, drugs and dysfunctional families, then . . . by all means. . . rent/buy this movie. . . otherwise, Stay Away!
Heartwarming.......2007-05-31
Garden state is an excellent heartwarming film. Zach Braff and Natalie Portman's performances are superb. The cinematography and directing are excellent. The soundtrack is also great (Academy Award Winner for Best Soundtrack). It's a movie that should be viewed more than once to truly appreciate it.
Probably the best movie I've seen in the last year..........2007-04-02
After hearing some buzz & seeing a couple of stellar reviews I decided to rent this movie. I didn't know what to expect, but thought it would be a light romantic comedy and mildly entertaining. Instead I found it alternately heartbreaking and hilarious. I was moved to tears several times, and to side-splitting laughter throughout. It's a wonderfully entertaining and heartwarming film.

Elvis Presley's seventh film was the first of his "Hawaii trilogy" (including Girls! Girls! Girls! and Paradise, Hawaiian Style). While its story is daft--the King has just been released from his Army posting in Italy and returned to the islands, where he's trying to avoid working in his father's fruit business--the music is not: "Blue Hawaii," "Almost Always True," and the beautiful "Can't Help Falling in Love." Angela Lansbury plays Elvis's mother, who can't seem to get through to him. Directed by the star's frequent collaborator, Norman Taurog (G.I. Blues). --Tom Keogh

Winner of seven Academy Awards, including best picture, director, actor, and screenplay, William Wyler's brilliant drama about domestic life after World War II remains one of the all-time classics of American cinema. Inspired by a pictorial article about returning soldiers in Life magazine, the story focuses on three war veterans (Fredric March, Dana Andrews, and Harold Russell in unforgettable roles) and their rocky readjustment to civilian life in their Midwestern town of Boone City. Capturing the contradictory moods of America in the mid to late 1940s, this three-hour drama spans a complex range of honest emotions, from joyous celebration and happy reunion to deep-rooted ambivalence and reassessment of personal priorities. A movie milestone when released in 1946, The Best Years of Our Lives still packs a punch with powerful, timeless themes. --Jeff Shannon
Description
It's the hope that sustains the spirit of every GI: the dream of the day when he will finally return home. For three WWII veterans, the day has arrived. But for each man, the dream is about to becomea nightmare. Captain Fred Derry (Dana Andrews) is returning to a loveless marriage; Sergeant Al Stephenson (Fredric March) is a stranger to a family that's grown up without him; and young sailor Homer Parrish (Harold Russell) is tormented by the loss of his hands. Can these three men find the courage to rebuild their world? Or are the best years of their lives a thing of the past? Featuring a brilliant cast that includes Myrna Loy and Virginia Mayo, this postwar classic garnered* seven OscarsÂ(r), including Best Picture. Heart-wrenching, touching and "filled with emotional dynamite" (The Hollywood Reporter), it remains "one of the best films about war veterans ever made" (American Movie Classics). *1946: Director, Actor, Supporting Actor, Writing/Screenplay, Film Editing, Music/Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture

These were the Best Years of Our Lives.......2007-06-09
What a great movie. The scenes between Fredick March, Myna Loy and Theresa Wright where Theresa told them that they alway had the perfect life and marriage and Myna looks at Fred and say "how many time have I told you that I hated you and meant it?" Then he looks at her and say "how many times did we have to fall in love all over again?" Its so gooood...Harold Russell great actors and deserves the TWO Oscars. Anyone that hasn't seen it really needs to check this one out..
Thoughtful, touching film.......2007-05-07
I love this movie. Though all the actors were excellent, Harold Russell is the reason to watch this movie. He deserved every ounce of his two - yes two - Oscars that he received for this role. He is amazing to watch. Though disabled, it was hard to consider him handicapped. I once used this film in my sunday school class. The lesson was on overcoming adversity and I showed the scene where Russell plays a piano duet with Hoagy Carmichael. The girls in my class were amazed. Then I shared with them some of the other things Russell had accomplished in his life - like being a founder of AMVETS. Russell's off screen story is a story in itself and should be made into a movie. Unfortunately, no actor could convincingly play him. That's the key to the impact he had on the screen - he wasn't an actor - he was a real, disabled person. Watch this movie - you'll be amazed too.
Classic Black & White War Movie.......2007-05-07
This was my father's all time favorite movie, which may be one reason I love it so much....then again, it's a damn good movie that still holds up! It is the story of three soldiers return to civilian life after World War II, with an outstanding cast and a great 40's style.
Shame on the Film Makers.......2007-04-08
I don't see how self-respecting African-Americans can watch this film without gritting their teeth. Black people are shuffled off to the sidelines with stereotypical, non-speaking parts: They lug baggage at the airport. They work behind the drugstore soda counter. They don't say anything, they don't go anywhere important, they don't even exist in the poor part of town where one of the featured white characters lives.
The movie is racist. It ignores what the Black experience was like for soldiers in WWII and for the folks at home who put up with the enduring racism.
And the flick got a zillion Oscars. Hollywood felt good about itself. Hooray. Figures.
The effects of war.......2007-03-31
This story of three men who return to small town America after fighting in the second world war, each man wounded in his own private way by the horrors he's faced, is filled with so many small heartbreaks. I very rarely get choked up watching movies (especially ones made in Hollywood) but this one gets me. Yet somehow it manages to be incredibly hopeful. Gregg Toland's amazing deep focus cinematography fills each frame with visually interesting compositions that demand to be seen more than once to take in everything that's being shown. The performances are uniformly outstanding, keeping the movie from ever straying into sentimentality. With a running time of almost 3 hours, it never drags. Every scene feels essential.
A great film.

Wonderful Music.......2007-06-23
I really enjoyed the Platinum Tenors. Their voices blended so well. When they were singing in unison it was difficult to tell that it wasn't just one voice. When I listen to "The Three Tenors" I always feel like it is a competition, Not so with these guys.
The to Brazilian sopranos are magnificent. I especially liked the one who sang "Juliska from Budapest." She has a marvelous upper range and quite a stage presence. BTW, her name is Carla not Clara.
The Dutch Blonde, on the other hand, was a disappointment. She has a nice little voice, suitable for musicals and light opera, but not the caliber of the two Brazilians. She needs to work on her enunciation and pronunciation. There is a difference between "begged" and "bagged" as well as between "memory" and "mammary." She is the main squeeze of Pierre Rieu, Andre's son and and stage manager.
I got a kick out of the violinist playing the banjo, the clarinetist playing the bag pipes and the dancing harpist.
The brunette in the Choir (can 5 women be classified as a choir?) sure knows how to use her eyes.
I thought the choreography left much to be desired. Something you might expect from a high school production
I really enjoyed the bright colors in which the women members were dressed. The fact that everyone was smiling and seemed to be enjoying themselves was also a plus. I'm sure that much of that was arranged, but it came across well. The audience surely enjoyed themselves.
He is a bit of a ham, but it comes across well. BTW, that is a Strad he is waving all over.
Fantastic!.......2007-06-07
If you can purchase only one DVD this year, this should be the one you buy!
Andre Rieu - The Homecoming.......2007-05-19
My wife totally loved this DVD. However, I was not nearly as pleased as she was. When I ordered this DVD I thought I was ordering a totally different artist. Imagine my surprise. However, not all bad - my wife now thinks I have class.
Andre Rieu - The Homecoming.......2007-05-09
Enjoyable. Full of music that was well selected, well played and well sung.
andre does it again!.......2007-05-08
As usual Andre and his performers entertain greatly and this one is no exception. Thoroughly enjoyable and recommended.

Big Jake is not one of the Duke's classics, but a diverting attempt nonetheless. Everyone seems to think that Jacob McCandles is six-feet under ("I thought you was dead" is a running line throughout), so some bad men kidnap his grandson. They want a piece of the family fortune and will kill to get it. Patrick Wayne, the Duke's own son, plays one of Big Jake's kids, and together they start out after the boy's abductors. Richard Boone makes a worthy adversary to Jake's larger than life figure, and the final confrontation between the two contains some great gritted-teeth dialogue. Maureen O'Hara is barely in the feature, sharing the same fate as Bobby Vinton as the boy's father. He seems to be onscreen just to get shot. --Keith Simanton
Customer Reviews:
BIG JAKE--Call Him Anything But Daddy.......2007-06-01
Often it's hard to separate the man from his arch-conservative politics, but the fact is that John Wayne defined what it meant to be a star in Hollywood for decades on end. And while his way of making films may have fallen into a routine under his Batjac production company during the last decade and a half of his life without the guiding hands of a John Ford, a Howard Hawks, or a Henry Hathaway, he still managed to pull it off time and time again. Such is the case with BIG JAKE, released in 1971.
Here, his character is Jacob McCandles, the patriarch of a south Texas ranching family who is presumed to be dead because nobody has seen him in eighteen years. But he is forced by his estranged wife (Maureen O'Hara, in her final film with Wayne before his death and her 20 year-long retirement) to find and kill the outlaw gang who killed several of her ranch hands, badly wounded one of his sons (Bobby Vinton), and made off with his grandson (Ethan Wayne). Along the way to find his grandson, which takes him across the Rio Grande into Mexico, he is given the seemingly even more onerous task of forcing his kids (Chris Mitchum, Glenn Corbett, Patrick Wayne) NOT to call him Daddy.
Besides everything else, Wayne and his trusty Indian sidekick (Bruce Cabot) are carrying a storebox with what is supposedly a $1 million ransom as authorized by the leader of the outlaws (Richard Boone, a very efficient villainous performance). Of course, Wayne doesn't exactly plan on coming through with that ransom, and you can pretty much guess what happens next...
BIG JAKE is every bit as predictable as Wayne's other westerns in terms of plot, with the exceptions of THE COWBOYS and THE SHOOTIST (neither of which were made under the Batjac banner), but it works all the same, largely due to Wayne's always-formidable presence, but also in no small measure to Boone's villainous outlaw. It also benefits from the excellent cinematography of William Clothier, who shot many Westerns, both with and without Wayne in them, done on location in what had become Wayne's favorite western locale--the high Mexican desert around Durango. George Sherman, who had directed Wayne in several westerns in the early 1930s prior to the Duke attaining stardom in STAGECOACH, managed to direct with enough panache to cover the fact that he wasn't in the best of health at the time (a fact that Wayne covered up by directing a number of scenes himself but still giving the directing credit to Sherman). The only serious disappointment in BIG JAKE is the fact that Wayne and O'Hara don't have enough screen time together (given the chemistry they showed in Ford's 1952 classic THE QUIET MAN).
And yet despite its flaws, there's no denying that BIG JAKE just plain works, not only for die-hard fans of the Duke, but for people who just appreciate any westerns (although this one is unique among Wayne's westerns by being the most overtly violent, hence the 'PG-13' rating). It may not be STAGECOACH or THE SEARCHERS, but then what is?
Just don't call him "Daddy", or he'll finish the fight.
Filling my Duke collection.......2007-03-22
I've been changing my movies from VHS to DVD lately. Especially in the western genre. Your delivery was faster than I expected. Way to go!!
Big Jake, big fun.......2007-03-05
This movie was a Wayne family affair. Michael produced, Patrick starred, and Ethan (Wayne's grandson) was featured. This was also his last pairing with Maureen O'Hara and though their scenes were few, they were classic. Richard Boone is excellent as the villian. Look for a lot of familar faces rounding out the cast. Wayne is as comfortable in this role as an old shoe. The action builds to a great shoot out climax. This movie has one of Wayne's best lines too. "You can call me Jake, you can call me father, you can call me you dirty son of a b.... This movie is worth it for that scene alone.
My Favorite John Wayne Movie!!.......2007-01-08
Humor and Action, its what John Wayne does best. This movie is about a man that hasn't seen his family in years. He one day gets a telgram stating that his family needs help, and the adventure begins.
Another great performance by BOBBY VINTON!!!!!.......2006-12-21
I think bobby vinton did a excellent job in this movie!Or as i would say Bobby vinton's movie. To bad he wasn't in more of it.Idon't care for the rest of the movie it's rather boring.Bobby made it interesting. To all you Bobby Vinton fan's it's worth watching his part's.Otherwise it's a waste of time.Bobby Vinton is a excellent actor too.I'm very happy John Wayne asked Bobby to be in it,bobby is also in John wayne's movie (bobby's movie)the train robbers.gotta watch it.

Manic energy and an agreeable level of comic insanity turn Just Friends into the kind of brainless comedy you can enjoy as a modest guilty pleasure. If you liked director Roger Kumble's previous comedy The Sweetest Thing (and let's face it, that movie had some really funny moments), chances are you'll get at least a few solid belly-laughs from this not-so-high-concept premise, in which a formerly fat high-schooler named Chris (Ryan Reynolds) is transformed, ten years later, into a womanizing music executive with a high-profile client (Anna Faris) in the Britney Spears/Christina Aguilera mold. As it zips along with some broad-stroked slapstick and snappy one-liners, the screenplay by Adam Tex Davis contrives to reunite Chris with Jamie (Amy Smart), the former cheerleader who was the great, unrequited love of Chris' miserable high-school life. By his narcissistic logic, he'll seduce her by treating her badly (i.e. she'll want what she thinks she can't have), but he gets unexpected competition in the form of a "Mr. Sensitive" type (Chris Klein, from American Pie), and it's pretty much Hollywood formula from there on, as Just Friends loses momentum without losing its basic appeal. And while Reynolds invests his character with an unexpected degree of emotional nuance, Faris (Scary Movie 3) pulls out all the stops, going deliriously over-the-top to maintain her reputation as a rising comedy starlet with a (hopefully) promising future. We're not talking rocket science here, folks... just sit back, take off your thinking cap, and have some fun. --Jeff Shannon

Funny all the way through!.......2007-06-30
This is a great movie. The casting is right on. Anna Farris is perfect as the spoiled, shallow pop diva. Ryan Reynolds is always funny. Chris Klein was an unexpected pleasant surprise. Julie Hagerty is always a treat.
We have shown this to a variety of our friends and all of them have loved it.
Highly recommend.
Very underrated movie.......2007-06-28
Its amazing how a movie this good could come out with so little buzz. From start to finish you'll be laughing. Very highly recommended.
Great Comedy Movie!!!.......2007-06-18
Great comedy!
This movie had me laughing almost the entire time. Anna Faris gives an amazing performance in this movie as a ditzy pop wanna-be singer. The rest of the cast is amazing in this movie as well. The story is very good and many could relate to it, specially if you've had a crush on someone in high school and you always felt like you were never good enough, unless you were rich, famous, and thin. This is defiantly a good comedy and revolves around the holidays but it's not just another holiday comedy either.
I have this movie as my top favorite films of all times. Just watch it and you'll see what I mean. great movie at a great value!
The shipping was fast, and the DVD was in great condition. This DVD has a great variety of DVD extras. You'll also get to see a lot of behind the scenes and a writer's journey on how to become an actor for a small role in the movie. It's a great DVD with lots to offer and it will keep you entertained through out the whole movie and special features as well.
I highly recommend it!!!
JUST FRIENDS IS JUST HILARIOUS!.......2007-06-13
This is the second movie I've watched with Ryan Reynolds in it in a short while. This movie is every bit as good as "Waiting" if not better. A quirky romantic comedy that is funny and has some heart. The DVD transfer is excellent and there are some very funny and interesting extras.
Love Ryan Reynolds.......2007-06-08
Just a good fun movie. I love his sense of humor. I could and did watch it over and over again.

A true television classic, The Homecoming was the second movie (after 1963's Spencer's Mountain) based on Earl Hamner's autobiographical writings about love, pride, faith, and survival in rural America during the Great Depression. The Homecoming introduced the Walton family, a 1930s mountain clan living a hardscrabble existence that forces patriarch John Walton (Andrew Duggan) to seek work, far from home, in the city. When John fails to return home, as promised, on Christmas Eve, his iron-willed wife Olivia (Patricia Neal) keeps a lid on their children's worry. Oldest son John-Boy (Richard Thomas), who privately dreams of becoming a writer but worries about disappointing his parents, is dispatched to find his dad. Graceful yet harder-edged than the subsequent TV series The Waltons (which recast several characters and ran for nine years), The Homecoming reveals, albeit understatedly, much about the pain of poverty even as the family draws strength and closeness through endurance. --Tom Keogh
Customer Reviews:
The Homecoming.......2007-07-05
Based on the autobiographical novel by Earl Hamner, Jr., Fielder Cook's heartwarming, award-winning TV drama "The Homecoming" spawned the long-running series "The Waltons." Patricia Neal is superb as Olivia Walton, who soothes her children's anxieties while dispatching John-Boy, winningly played by wholesome actor Richard Thomas, to find their father. Cook's spare, touching film is ideal for the holidays, underlining the importance of family love and solidarity over material possessions.
Great Family movie.......2007-06-14
Great Family clean movie for an evening get together.
Perfection.......2007-03-09
I love this movie, so I couldn't give it any less than the best rating...I'd give it more stars if I could.
Waltons had to start somewhere.......2007-03-08
I missed the movie when it started and wound up comparing it to the series. The series characters grew up with me and have been like family. I felt the original cast payed the parts in a much harsher attitude but it was interesting and made me appreciate the way the series handled the family situations.
Not Up to the Series Standard IMO.......2007-02-15
Being a fan of the TV series, our family was generally disappointed with this special (pre-series) episode. The kids were great, but the story wasn't so great and the different parents / actors were hard to warm-up to.

Customer Reviews:
A MUST for anyone's collection.......2007-06-06
This is such a classical, sweet, stirring movie with incredible acting.
I can't think of a movie fan that wouldn't enjoy it, and it is appropriate for families - the older members (grandmothers) and the younger. As unforgettable as the movie is, the music is also exquisite - it's uncomplicated but so perfect. I own the CD and always have it in the car, ready.
A great movie!.......2007-05-08
You don't see this type of movie often. Great acting my Geraldine Page! Horton Foote's writing is equally as impressive. I highly recommend this movie.
A MOVIE I CAN RELATE TOO........2007-03-14
I LOVED THIS MOVIE. IT IS THE KIND OF MOVIE I WANT TO WATCH OVER AND OVER AND OVER. IT BRINGS BACK A LOT OF MEMORIES OF TIME PAST AND BEING THE AGE OF THE CARRIE I UNDERSTAND HER.
In This Case The Academy Got It Right.......2007-01-24
Put together a piece that has both a beautiful heartwarming story set in a slower more gracious time than now and the greatest actress to ever act on the American stage or movie screen and you have THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL. The 1940's was a time when older people didn't have the option to be sent to nursing homes in America so that family members didn't need to be responsible for their elderly's welfare or for assuring that their last days could end with a certain amount of dignity.
Carrie Watts, played perfectly by Geraldine Page had moved in with her lone surviving son and his wife because she had left her girlhood home when the land there was too worn out to provide her with a living after the death of her husband and two of her children. After twenty years of being away from the tiny Texas town called Bountiful and six years of being cooped up in a two-room apartment in Houston, Texas, Carrie yearned to return to her "home" where she could dig in the dirt and make something grow again. She has made several failed efforts at getting there already before the movie's opening and the strange dance that ensues between her and her son and daughter-in-law is her struggle to make her dream come true while the two of them make every effort to prevent it.
TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL was Page's final performance as she died shortly after receiving the academy award for 1985's best actress. Hers was an epoch of actresses who were trained to "overact" especially in movies. I once heard Bette Davis say near the end of her life that the trouble with actors and actresses today was that they brought too much realism to their roles. She and the actresses of her day were told to make their characters "larger than life", to maintain a certain distance from the audience. Too much realism was frowned upon by directors of the day. Geraldine Page though started out as a stage actress and her performances always rang true at their very core. She never did or said anything on stage or screen that struck a wrong chord. I believed her in every role and she was never better than she was in this her last movie. The Academy got it right that time.
A Trip To Bountiful.......2007-01-09
The product was in good condition. The plot is of interest to older people.

To her friends, Wendy Wu (Brenda Song) is an average teenager with an almost perfect life and a dream of becoming homecoming queen. Chinese legend, on the other hand, declares that Wendy is first and foremost the reincarnation of a powerful woman warrior from the Wei Dynasty who is destined to fight the newly-awakened, evil Yan Lo. When Shen (Shin Koyamada), a most untraditional Buddhist monk, arrives in Fair Springs, California to begin training Wendy in the art of Kung Fu, Wendy is skeptical and uncooperative until a series of strange events involving her family, friends, and teachers force her to consider her priorities from a whole new perspective. Some serious Kung Fu training whips Wendy's body into shape, but it is her state and strength of mind that will ultimately determine her path and the destiny of the larger world. Disney star Brenda Song (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) shows true martial arts prowess in this action-packed film as does Shin Koyamada (Constellation). Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical) also plays a supporting role. Bonus features include an exclusive alternate ending, a look at the intensive martial arts training that predated the film, a cast connections segment that is basically a television biography of Brenda Song, and an episode of The Suite Life of Zach and Cody in which London (Brenda Song) is disastrously enrolled in parochial school and Zach and Cody learn a lesson about spying. (Ages 7 and older) --Tami Horiuchi
Description
Wendy Wu has only one thing on her mind: winning the crown as this year's homecoming queen. But the arrival of a mysterious young Chinese monk named Shen flips her whole world upside down. As if juggling homework, a hottie boyfriend, and fierce competition for homecoming queen isn't enough, now she's got to seriously train her mind, body, and spirit in all things Kung Fu! Will Wendy discover her own inner warrior and learn what's really important in life? (Big surprise: It's not all about shopping.) Awesome action-adventure and Kung Fu fun is packed into WENDY WU: HOMECOMING WARRIOR, starring Brenda Song (THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACK & CODY). And only this Kickin' Edition DVD has the never-before-seen extended ending, a totally cool behind-the-scenes featurette, and more!
Customer Reviews:
Wendy Becomes a Warrior!.......2007-06-18
It turns out it was sort of not like I had expected. I mean, Wendy never really fought another girl, but a male villian in a girl's body! Still, this movie is quite good.
This movie's about a popular teen who starts to learn that she's a Yin warrior and must train her martial arts skills to defeat a non-mythical creature, Yan-Lo. Yan-Lo keeps going from body to body, searching for this soon-to-be warrior!
So, I give this movie 4 stars. It's probably not the best Disney Channel movie, (like "Read it and Weep,") but let's see how you'll like it!
Brenda Song rocks.......2007-03-28
For those who laugh with London, the heiress to the Tipton Hotel at Zack and Cody, this DVD will be a surprise. The story reveals another facet of the actress. Cute, not boring at all. I saw it with my nine-year-old girl.
One of the best from disney channel.......2007-02-07
brenda song is one of my favorite actor's from disney channel. If you love Brenda song or love a good kung fu movie, this is for you
From future homecoming queen to Kung Fu teen........2007-01-14
Stars Brenda Song & Shin Koyamada did a tremendous job with this movie. Its full of action, good dialogue, and comedic moments. Shin does an extraodinary job like he did in The Last Samurai. Since I'm Asian, I really enjoy the Asian cultural things like the Terracota warriors, Buddhist monks, and Kung fu, even though I'm Japanese. Big fan of Koyamada-san. And its a story of true sacrifice. So, people with the bad reviews, just have fun, geez.
