Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Mrs. Doubtfire.......2007-06-10

This movie is about a man, an immature, irresponsible kind of guy who loves his kids. How can you help but to love a dad who would do anything to be with his children, including dressing up as a woman in order to be their caregiver? It is refreshing to see a movie that shows a father's devotion and love in such a positive light. Robin Williams is a wonderful versatile actor and always gives a fantastic performance no matter what type of role he is playing. And Sally Field is adorable as usual. The family interaction is delightful throughout. This movie is funny, poignant, and entertaining for children and adults alike, a definite family movie sure to be enjoyed by all.

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best Movies EVER.......2007-04-07

This is one of Robert Williams best Movies ever because it has it all, Comedy, Drama, and it gets you all teary and mushy inside while making you laugh your head off. Deffinetely recommend to Robert William fans. Trust me you wont regret it. I sure didn't.

Now and forever a favorite among kids, this 1990 comedy written by John Hughes (The Breakfast Club) and directed by Chris Columbus (Mrs. Doubtfire) ushered Macaulay Culkin onto the screen as a troubled 8-year-old who doesn't comfortably mesh with his large family. He's forced to grow a little after being accidentally left behind when his folks and siblings fly off to Paris. A good-looking boy, Culkin lights up the screen during several funny sequences, the most famous of which finds him screaming for joy when he realizes he's unsupervised in his own house. A bit wooden with dialogue, the then-little star's voice could grate on the nerves (especially in long, wise-child passages of pure bromide), but he unquestionably carries the film. Billie Bird and John Candy show up as two of the interesting strangers Culkin's character meets. Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are entertainingly cartoonish as thieves, but the ensuing violence once the little hero decides to keep them out of his house is over-the-top. --Tom Keogh

Description

Eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) has become the man of the house, overnight! Accidentally left behind when his family rushes off on a Christmas vacation, Kevin gets busy decorating the house for the holidays. But he's not decking the halls with tinsel and holly. Two bumbling burglars are trying to break in, and Kevin's rigging a bewildering battery of booby traps to welcome them!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Hilarious Exploits of an Eight-year Old Boy.......2007-06-12

This comedy is loaded with ironies. The boy wishes that his family would disappear. For a time, he gets his wish. The boy, Kevin, considered to be incompetent, does exploits far beyond his age. Left alone by a big family who goes to Paris for Christmas, he takes care of the big house, does grocery shopping, and stymies two burglars. The burglars think that they will have an easy time with the boy, but instead get the hassle of their lives. A neighbor man, supposedly a murderer who used his snow shovel to kill his relatives, actually lost his relatives to an old, long-unresolved argument. As a further irony, he uses his snow shovel on the burglars. The mother, thinking that she is a bad parent for having forgotten her own son, learns from the Polka troupe (that is driving her home) that many of its members hardly ever see their children in the first place. Finally, the family, divided by spiteful comments, is brought together in their frantic efforts to return home to Kevin.

5 out of 5 stars Grestest Film! Decent Special Features!.......2007-05-22

This is one of the greatest films of all time. It will be around forever! I was hoping this edition of the DVD would have special features with more shots and footage from the set from back in 1990. However, I'm sure that since it was 17 years ago most of the behind the scenes footage from the filming was lost. Most of the special features are just interviews with the people who put the film together, talking about what they did for the film. Be sure to listen to the DVD commentary with Macaulay Culkin and Chris Columbus. It's interesting to watch deleted footage that didn't make the film as well. Overall, I wish the special features were more elaborate and more on-set showing the actual shooting of the film, but since it was so long ago, I don't blame them for not having it on file anymore.

5 out of 5 stars A Holiday Classic Has Been Saved.......2007-03-29

The first edition of this dvd was ok but lacked in the special features area and dvd quality. Thankfully the Family Fun edition has been released and the quality is excellent. This new edition has 5.1 sound and the picture quality is so much more crisper. This dvd is loaded with special features. It's hard to believe that Home Alone came out more than 16 years ago and has stood the test of time and is destined to be a holiday classic. Great fun movie...

The Bells of St. Mary's works much better for its battle of wills between a parish priest and a head nun than the dopey musical interludes that pepper it, but Bells is still a winning, emotionally satisfying film. This sequel to Going My Way has Father O'Malley (Bing Crosby) taking over the St. Mary's parochial school and finding himself at loggerheads with Sister Benedict (Ingrid Bergman, looking gorgeous even in a habit). There's a wonderful balance to all of this: O'Malley takes a more worldly approach to administration and is wrong just as many times as the nun is when she insists on a more biblical approach. About four subplots suffuse the film, including the story of a young charge from the wrong side of the tracks, and the deteriorating state of St. Mary's in the shadow of a brand-new building (the owner is played by the avuncular Henry Travers). A dear film. --Keith Simanton

5 out of 5 stars Bells Rung Sweetly.......2007-06-08

This version of the Bells of St. Mary is a clear, restored cut of the original version. Crosby and Bergman shine brightly in the staring roles of Fr. O'Malley and St. Bernadette. Leo McCarrey's script is a winner as is the supporting role played by Henry Travers.

A feel good movie for the whole family. So let those bells "Proudly ring out As we sing out Hail, Hail, Hail!"

4 out of 5 stars Movie was good...but.............2007-05-20

I always have enjoyed this movie while growing up...was a holiday tardition along with Going My Way....

Unfortunetly..the seller sold me a black and white movie and not a colorized one..that was my only complaint..:(

5 out of 5 stars Bells of St. Mary's.......2007-01-19

I loved watching this movie when I was a kid. I wanted to share it with my children too. My kids loved it. I thought it my not hold their interest, but they watched the whole thing. A true classic.

5 out of 5 stars Bells of St. Mary's Review.......2007-01-15

This is a classic Bing Crosby "Father O'Malley" Movie. It is the original
black and white uncut movie. This classic movie has been shown on tv numerous times in several versions. It's a joy to see it in its original
form. It is the heart warming story of a new priest and a fiesty nun trying to save an old parish school in the 1940's.

5 out of 5 stars The Miracle at St. Mary's.......2007-01-11

Father O'Malley arrives at the parish and learns the previous pastor had been taken away to "Shady Rest". [The lighting tells you this is a stage set.] He meets Sister Superior Benedict and the other nuns of the parish school. Earthly honors and rewards are not for them; they do God's work. The children recite the Pledge in the new fashion, hand over heart. The school has no playground; they had to sell it to raise money for repairs to the school. [The Great Depression.] Mr. Bogardus tells Father O'Malley that he wants their school; if they don't sell the Town Council will condemn it (eminent domain or zoning). A woman arranges for her daughter to be boarded at school; she needs special help. A new boy gets into trouble. What is the proper way to handle interpersonal conflicts? The Sisters visit a sporting goods store (remember them?) To gain knowledge on a non-scholastic subject. Father O'Malley helps a young girl with her homework.

Young Patricia's essay hints at help from an adult. Young Eddie has profited from his extra-curricular education. The Christmas play put on by first-graders shows elegant simplicity. Mr. Bogardus explains his need for their school property - his workers need parking for their cars (a comment on the return of prosperity). The Sisters tell Mr. Bogardus that they want him to donate his new building to their school! [The war time shortages of materials like glass are referenced.] The stress is harming Mr. Bogardus. A long-lost husband is reunited with his wife, and we hear another song. There is a question of school policy as to passing students who are not academic high performers. What is the purpose of schooling? Isn't it a means to an end, not an end in itself?

Mr. Bogardus suddenly turns over a new leaf, and donates his building to St. Mary's! It's a miracle. The doctor has bad news: Sister Benedict has TB in an early stage. [This diagnosis was often a death sentence before the 1950s.] She must be sent away for a rest cure, but she cannot be told to keep her spirits up and effect a cure. Patsy meets he reunited parents, and things will be different. Patsy graduates to move on to High School. [In earlier times those who finished Grammar School went to work at age 14; their education continued in the workplace.] Was life really so simple in those times? Ingrid Bergman shows her acting ability as Sister Benedict.

I remember another version of this film that may explain Mr. Bogardus' generosity. His plant was land-locked, even if he got a new parking lot. But if he was able to buy a large property outside of town he would have more than all the space he needed, and lower taxes too. No traffic problems either. So Father O'Malley arranged a deal that was a win for all concerned. The availability of plentiful food has put an end to TB in America. From about 1860 to 1950 it was the major cause of death in America. Did we end up with an epidemic of obesity? Its better to die of a heart attack at 60 than of TB at 30. Your results may vary.

The original 1947 version of this Valentine Davies story follows the misadventures of Kris Kringle (Edmund Gwenn) as he gets a job playing Santa Claus at Macy's department store in New York City. Natalie Wood is the little girl who tells him she doesn't believe in Santa, and Maureen O'Hara and John Payne are the couple who help Kris through a trial in which he must prove he's the jolly fellow from the North Pole. A sweet movie and perennial Christmas favorite, this is one of those movies that gets under your skin and must be revisited every so often. --Tom Keogh

Description

Six year old Susan has doubts childhood's most enduring miracle Santa Clause. Her mother told her the "secret" about Santa a long time ago, so Susan doesn't expect to receive the most important gifts on her Christmas list. But after meeting a special departement stare Santa who's convinced he's the real thing, Susan is given the most precious gift of all - something to believe in.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Another classic.......2007-06-27

This is another classic movie of which I have more than one version. I do enjoy this version's "Kris Kringle" very much and Natalie Wood was fantastic as Susan. Maureen O'Hara made a great mother and the story speaks for itself, if you believe. . . .

5 out of 5 stars Miracle on 34th Street.......2007-06-25

Was there ever a better big-screen Santa than Oscar winner Edmund Gwenn? This timeless Christmas fable about an elderly retiree who sets New York a-twitter with his claim to be the sleigh-riding patron saint of the North Pole captures the spirit of the season like few other holiday films. Young Natalie Wood is delightful as the disbelieving girl who, hewing to her mother's urban sophisticate views, thinks the notion of elves and Saint Nick is preposterous. Repeat viewings won't diminish the charming allure or the endearing message of "Miracle."

5 out of 5 stars Product Quality.......2007-03-22

Excellent quality film. The DVD contains both the original black and white version as well as a colorized version. Highly recommended for every family, we love it.

5 out of 5 stars Value-for-Money.......2007-03-12

I have another version of this movie in LD. I like the story very much and its idea of using the Post Office to prove officially the existence of the Santa is so much better than the 1994 remake. This edition provides the best of both world (Colour and B/W)for me as well. All in all, it is a great value package for a young at heart.

Amazon.com essential video

This charming British animated short film (it's just 23 minutes long) is a 1982 production of London's Channel 4, based on the classic children's book by Raymond Briggs and crafted with a colored-pencils-on-paper look, like fluffy, hand-drawn illustrations. Small children should be entranced by the story of a small boy in rural England whose lovingly constructed snowman comes to life and takes him flying over the white-blanketed landscapes, in a beautiful rotoscoped (traced) sequence based on live-action flying footage. Part of the charm of the film is the gentle, everyday quality of its fantasy adventures: the snowman is invited in to try on clothes and play with the Christmas decorations, then plays host to the boy at a party in the woods, at which his snowy relatives do English country dances. This is one of the very few Christmas tapes on the market that really deserves to be a holiday perennial, a gentle fable of friendship and the power of imagination. --David Chute

5 out of 5 stars A Definite Christmas Classic.......2007-06-05

We first bought the VHS version and then the DVD. We never fail to watch it several times during the Xmas season, sometimes just the wife and I without the grandchildren. One of those few videos that contain no "bad" language or violence, and yet is a joy for all ages to view. To adults it evokes sentimentality, emotions, and sometimes that unquenchable thirst to be young and innocent again that we don't normally allow ourselves to feel. To the children it provides the joy of being allowed to empathize with the young boy in the video for the few minutes that the video lasts.

5 out of 5 stars The Raymond Briggs 'The Snowman'.......2007-05-07

My children and grandchildren have loved this for years and now my youngest (aged 3 and 4) also count it among their favourite stories. It prompted me to buy the DVD for them, which they also love.

5 out of 5 stars "...land of lost content".......2007-04-13

I recently bought this movie for a friend of mine's three-year-old daughter not only because it is a beautiful story, it is also a nostalgic (but not saccharine) tale of a boy's innocence and imagination. Moreso, it reminds me very much of the Wintertide's of my childhood in rural Warwickshire in England. At the sign of the first heavy snow we would rush out and beginning rolling the snowball that would form our snowman's body. It truly was a care-free time; a time without adult worries; a time devoid of adult cynicism. In the words of Housman "That is the land of lost content, I see it shining plain. The happy highways where I went, but cannot come again."

5 out of 5 stars My son loves it!.......2007-03-15

I rented this at the video store & my 2 1/2 year old son just loves watching it. He is not interested in watching much TV so I am so grateful that he will sit in his little chair for the whole 1/2 hour of running time. He's seen it 4 times now & every single time he is completely captivated by it. I might be buying it so I can have those 1/2 hour breaks once in awhile. It is a very adorable short movie.

Here's a perfect movie for kids, who never seem to tire of John Hughes's sure-fire slapstick formula. Working yet another variation on his mammoth 1990 hit, writer-producer Hughes (regarded by many as Hollywood's antichrist) strands a youngster in his own home with the chicken pox in this 1997 retelling. While his parents go to work, he sees a team of burglars invading the neighborhood houses; in fact, they're spies, looking for a toy containing a stolen microchip. The inevitability of the finale--one kid holding off four professionals with toys and garden tools--will do nothing to lessen the amusement of youngsters, who love to see the bad guys get creamed. Adults may pause at the sadistic nature of some of Hughes's pranks, but kids will eat up the image of one of their own outwitting all the adults. --Marshall Fine

Description

A band of international crooks has hidden a military computer chip inside a toy car, but an airport mix-up lands it in the hands of whiz-kid Alex Pruitt (Alex D. Linz) who's home alone with the chicken pox in a quiet Chicago suburb. When the criminals zero in on Alex's house with their high-tech gadgetry, madness and mayhem kick into high gear as the pint-sized hero defends himself against the bumbling bad guys -armed with an outrageous array of ambushes and booby traps!

1 out of 5 stars Mean spirited and unfunny........2007-03-20

In the first 2 films, the kid was left alone by accident. In this one, it is deliberate. That's right, the mother leaves her small child home alone by choice. The kid is an evil genius type who has more toys than the Mythbusters. His traps are meant to maim or kill the so-called bad guys, who are so unbelievably stupid it is difficult to accept they would be smart enough to steal a computer chip. Speaking of the chip -- something like that would fail if it were handled by so many people; it has to be in an anti-static protective bag, not in a toy car. But most Hollywood types don't seem to know anything about computers. Or the range of a toy car's remote control. Or a TV remote control. Or how a small child could put barbells on a roof. Or move a 4x8 sheet of plywood...or.... In short, just about everything in this movie stretches credulity beyond even cartoon violence. This also proves that to pull off this concept you need a cast of people with talent. The original 2 films work only because of a good cast. It certainly isn't the writing. Left to the writing alone, this type of film just fails. It also leaves one with a sense of mean-spiritedness at the heart of the film. And that is because it is such an unnecessary sequel with ties to the originals in name only.

5 out of 5 stars Best of Bunch So Far.......2007-02-02

Out of the first three that I have viewed, this is by far and away my vote for best. The lead actor is marvelous, so genuine and so expressive. The plot carries on the Home Alone theme: parents leaving young boy alone, burglars attack, boy's ingenuity foils them, siblings nasty to the nth.

Here, Home Alone goes high tech, on the burglars part and on the defender boy's as well. From outset, scene is set with defense part chip that gets mistakenly taken at airport security and ends up in young boy's remote car, which thus becomes center point in the plot.

The defensive measures this Alex takes up are what makes this one so good! From aid of talkin parrot to yarn wound electrified wire, this one caused great laughter.

Such great family viewing pleasure!

4 out of 5 stars GO ALEX!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-01-25

Wow! The Booby Traps were even more severe and a lot better!! Although I really miss Harry and Marv
PROS-
-Booby Traps are better
-Number of criminals extend

BAD-
-Acting is half terrible
-This movie has a totally different cast

What I don't understand is the storyline. IT'S DIFFERENT!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Our Christmas favorite, kids are funny........2007-01-10

This is our favorite movie for the holidays or when it is snowing and cold outside. This is the best of the Home alone movies. I like this kid better than the first kid. His acting is really good. I mean yo uknow that a kid cannot do some of the things that they have him do, but it is very funny to see what this kid does, some of the things that you see being done you cannot figure out what he is doing. This one does not involve the kid being left behind for the holiday, much more believable series of events.

3 out of 5 stars Not a Real Sequel.......2007-01-07

I just don't understand why the movie producers could not have used Macaulay Culkin as an older (which he was by then) and a more mature Kevin McAllister.
By the time Home Alone 4 came out, Macaulay Culkin got older yet the protagonist remained the same---Kevin McAllister. (Is the protagonist to remain a small child all his life?)
But in this movie, none of the characters in the first two "Home Alone" films were even cast. It's a whole new film with a whole new cast of characters. So it's not even a sequel. The only things that are similar are the booby traps, though different criminals.
I suppose if you strictly like crime, intrigue and booby traps, then this film is for you.
But for those of you out there who have not seen this film yet, do not expect the family warmth and Christmas charm of the first two "Home Alones." They aren't there.
I must say, though, that the child actor in question is off to a good start; he does a terrific job. But I would say the only real comedians in this film are the parrot and Doris the rat, especially when they share a ride on a toy.

Tchaikovsky's timeless Yuletide ballet is presented in an all-new movie version with as much eloquence as one would find in a live stage production. Replete with gorgeous costumes and scenery, George Balanchine's production, adapted by Peter Martins, features the New York City Ballet with narration by Kevin Kline. From the moment the Nutcracker prince winds toymaker Drosselmeier's life-sized dolls, viewers are ushered into the captivating story of a little girl's Christmas Eve fantasy of beauty, magic, and sugarplums. While several versions of this beloved tale are available in video, this one is distinguished for the magnificent performances of a large cast of young ballet dancers from the School of American Ballet. While Culkin lends his star-studded name, that is all he lends in what is mostly a wooden performance (he often appears on the sidelines looking quite blasé and detached). More deserving accolades go to Jessica Lynn Cohen as Marie, whose genuineness never wanes and dance steps never falter. Bart Robinson Cook is wonderful as the playful Herr Drosselmeier, and Darci Kistler is the graceful Sugarplum Fairy. Mostly this film belongs to children--both on the stage and in the audience. What is lacking in spontaneous energy of live theater is made up for in a perfectly polished performance. The only thing missing is the well-earned applause. --Lynn Gibson

3 out of 5 stars It's good but the greatest Nutcracker I've seen was Baryishnikov's ABT.......2007-06-30

Had I not seen the American Ballet Theatre Nutcracker with Baryishnikov dancing and choreographing, I would probably have given this one 4 stars. The Balanchine Nurcracker is pretty: Cute children, exquisite costumes, nice props, artistic scenery. But the ABT version is just marvelous. I've been to dozens and dozens of ballet performances and seen others on TV, but the Baryishnikov Nutcracker is the best ballet performance I've ever seen. The scene where the Nutcracker battles the mice is particularly superb.

Treat your kids at Christmastime to good music and performance.

3 out of 5 stars For Children.......2007-04-26

This performance might be suitable for children. I was only able to watch the first act. There was no ballet. It was just the children running and jumping around. Even if it is dated, I think the version with Baryshnikov is the best.Tchaikovsky - The Nutcracker / Baryshnikov, Kirkland, Charmoli

5 out of 5 stars It is true magic.......2007-04-25

The story of the Nutcracker Prince is a very enchanting story. The first time i saw this movie i was in the fourth grade, and now that i have it on DVD i can watch it anytime i want to. The movie is really about Clara (Megan Follows) who is given a nutcracker by her Uncle Drosselmier. The nutcracker is really his son Hans (Keifer Southerland), transformed by a bite by the mousequeen. It is a beautiful story and the characters are memorable.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas
To heck with the kids--this is one of the best holiday presents you can give yourself. Adapted from the children's book by Dr. Seuss, this charming story is one to watch every holiday season. It is just edgy enough to help you forget the more cloying aspects of Christmas, yet it is also sweet enough to remind you of the reason for all that holiday cheer. Animation genius Chuck Jones directed this 1966 television production featuring the voice of Boris Karloff as the mean greenie. Bitter and selfish, the Grinch decides to steal Christmas away from the Whos, the sweet little folk who live at the bottom of his mountain home. When little Cindy Loo Who returns his hateful act with kindness, she melts the old miser's heart. There are many reasons to watch this: inventive wordplay, Karloff's impressive narration, and a very memorable soundtrack. --Rochelle O'Gorman

Horton Hears a Who!
Chuck Jones was chief animator on this lively adaptation of the famous book by Dr. Seuss. The story of a friendly elephant named Horton who discovers--deep inside a daisy--a tiny city called Whoville with tiny, intelligent residents--this film (fleshed out a bit from the source) is strong on character and has striking, appealing visuals. The little folks of Whoville, with their natural air of aristocracy, are a kick, and when they come to see Horton as a hero for his democratic view of all life big and small, the effect is quite touching. This should be a real treat for kids already familiar with the book, and just might inspire those who haven't read it to pick it up. --Tom Keogh

5 out of 5 stars Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!.......2007-05-13

Love it! Who doesn't love Dr. Seuss and the Who's in Whoville. Great family movie with no advertisements. A must have for any home with or without kids. I have watched it by myself on occasion. I am a BIG Dr. Seuss fan. Check out the great selection of Dr. Seuss books on Amazon our family owns many titles. They great for reading to k-6th graders at school or home.

5 out of 5 stars HIS MEANNESS IN GLORIOUS GREENESS.......2007-05-06

Wow! I just watched this newest edition of the Grinch, and what a difference! The COLORS are FABULOUS! He never looked better! The remastering is, well, masterful; and I never saw this wonderful Christmas feature so beautifully represented.
All the hundreds of times I watched this before have been in B&W by comparison!
"You're a Mean One-Mr Grinch! You have Termites in your Soul!"
Sung by the inimitable Thurl Ravenscroft (what a great name!) who also voiced one of the Ghosts on the Haunted Mansion ride, ( a Singing Bust in the Graveyard) lends a thrilling richness to the feature, as great as the voice of Boris Karloff as the Grinch himself.
An extra feature on this disc is the Making of...including interviews with Mrs Theodore Geisel, AKA Mrs Seuss, and Chuck Jones, who worked closely with his old friend Dr Seuss, at first reluctant to animate his story, but who thawed after seeing the drawings and hearing the great songs, esp the one on Christmas Morning.
Horton hears a Who is included, and this is just wonderful...so sweet.
One day Dr Seuss was sitting at his desk littered with sketches when a breeze wafted in and blew a drawing of an elephant onto a drawing of a tree, which set Seuss to thinking: "What is that elephant doing up in that tree?" which led to Horton Hatches the Egg.
Seuss's wonderful surrealist POV is the child's version of Dali, and another favorite Seuss work of mine is the sets he created for "The 10,000 Fingers of Dr T."
This set also includes Phil Hartman's Grinch special and pencil tests.
But the real star here is the incredible colors and how magnificent the Grinch looks in his splendid coat of bright Green. You've never seen this great feature so beautifully done until you get this version! The packaging is wonderful with sparkles all over the jacket.

5 out of 5 stars Dr. Seuss's Original..........2007-04-22

The 1966 cartoon version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" has rightly become a Christmas season classic. Its simple but evocative storyline is brought to life by the pairing of animator Chuck Jones with original artist Theodor Geisel. Boris Karloff's absolutely superb narration is the thing of genius that makes the whole movie work.

The story is familar to anyone who has been young in the last forty years: The Grinch, a Christmas-hater, lives near Whoville, populated by Whos, a cheery bunch who celebrate Christmas with abandon. The Grinch has the stoke of awful inspiration one Christams Eve to sneak into Whoville and steal all the holiday paraphanalia, and stop Christmas from coming. Disguised as Santa Claus, the Grinch makes away with all the presents, decorations, and food, only to discover that he has missed the point about Christmas altogether. His moment of relevation may be the highlight of the whole movie.

This movie is highly recommended as a Christmas Classic suitable for all ages.

5 out of 5 stars Still the Best!.......2007-04-17

As a child of 4 or 5 years old, watching this, I have to say that Boris Karloff's rendering of the Grinch gave me literal nightmares. But then I always loved a movie that could enter my slumber, so even the nightmares of my childhood were a welcome adrenaline rush.

I realize this is a movie you're probably only supposed to watch at Christmas time, but honestly I can watch it in the middle of July and enjoy it just as much as if I I were watching it on Christmas Morning!

When I was a kid, it was about the lesson learned by the Grinch. He learned to let people in, to love and to be loved. He learned the true meaning of being a cheerful giver.

As a grown-up, it's about being able to harken back to a simpler time. About re-living those moments I so enjoyed in my youth. The Grinch is more than a holiday classic. It's a journey into one of the most enjoyable aspects of a person's past.

It's beautifully drawn... as I already said, the voices are positively mesmerizing. The message/moral/theme is very positive and clear. Tell me what's NOT to like about this movie?

5 out of 5 stars Great flick.......2007-03-17

My 4 year old son loves the Grinch. We bought this because the tape was worn out. It is nice and clear and is the original we all remember. And even though we didnt think we were getting "Horton Hears a Who" it was included on the disc.
